[0034] AI, at least including machine learning (ML) is used to learn and perform certain tasks via training neural networks (NNs) with vast amounts of data, which is successfully applied in computer vison (CV) and nature language processing (NLP) areas. Deep learning, which is a subordinate concept of ML, utilizes multi-layered NNs as an “AI model” (or referred to as AI / ML model or the like) or "AI-based model" (or referred to as AI / ML based model or the like) to learn how to solve problems and / or optimize performance from vast amounts of data. If AI models used on AI-based methods are well trained, the AI-based methods can obtain better performance than the traditional methods. Thus, 3rd generation partnership program (3GPP) has been considering to introduce AI into 3GPP since 2016.

[0035] For example, one 3GPP work item is to study AI / ML based mobility for network triggered layer (L) 3 (L3) -based handover considering AI / ML based radio resource management (RRM) measurement results and event prediction, wherein the AI / ML models can be located in the network side and / or UE side. However, there are several issues to be solved, e.g., how to perform handover prediction (or handover execution prediction or handover occurrence prediction or the like) , how to apply handover prediction results, whether to and how to update handover prediction reporting, and how to activate or trigger handover in the case of AI / ML based mobility etc.

[0036] In accordance with various aspects of the present disclosure, to support handover prediction in UE side, the serving cell of a UE may determine configuration information related to handover prediction for one or more candidate cells associated with a UE, and then transmit the determined configuration information related to handover prediction to the UE, e.g., via a radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration message. After receiving the configuration information related to handover prediction for one or more candidate cells, UE may perform handover prediction for the one or more candidate cells based on the received configuration information related to handover prediction.

[0037] Aspects of the present disclosure are described in the context of a wireless communications system.

[0038] Figure 1 illustrates an example of a wireless communications system 100 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The wireless communications system 100 may include one or more NE 102, one or more UE 104, and a core network (CN) 106. The wireless communications system 100 may support various radio access technologies. In some implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a 4G network, such as an LTE network or an LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) network. In some other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a NR network, such as a 5G network, a 5G-Advanced (5G-A) network, or a 5G ultrawideband (5G-UWB) network. In other implementations, the wireless communications system 100 may be a combination of a 4G network and a 5G network, or other suitable radio access technology including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 (Wi-Fi) , IEEE 802.16 (WiMAX) , IEEE 802.20. The wireless communications system 100 may support radio access technologies beyond 5G, for example, 6G. Additionally, the wireless communications system 100 may support technologies, such as time division multiple access (TDMA) , frequency division multiple access (FDMA) , or code division multiple access (CDMA) , etc.

[0040] An NE 102 may provide a geographic coverage area for which the NE 102 may support services for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area. For example, an NE 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g., voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, an NE 102 may be moveable, for example, a  satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network (NTN) . In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas 112 associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas may be associated with different NE 102.

[0041] The one or more UE 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a remote unit, a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a subscriber device, a transmitter device, a receiver device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, an Internet-of-Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples.

[0042] A UE 104 may be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link 114 may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.

[0044] The CN 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The CN 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g., a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g., a serving gateway (S-GW) , a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g., data bearers, signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more NE 102 associated with the CN 106.

[0045] The CN 106 may communicate with a packet data network over one or more backhaul links (e.g., via an S1, N2, N3, or another network interface) . The packet data network may include an application server. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g., a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the CN 106 via an NE 102. The CN 106 may route traffic (e.g., control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application server using the established session (e.g., the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the CN 106 (e.g., one or more network functions of the CN 106) .

[0046] In the wireless communications system 100, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g., time resources (e.g., symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g., subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g., wireless communications) . In some implementations, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0047] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g., μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g., μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g., 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g., μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g., 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g., μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g., 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0048] A time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0049] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g., a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g., quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g., quantity) of symbols (e.g., OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g., quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g., applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols.  The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g., 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0050] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the NEs 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g., control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the NEs 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0051] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g., μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g., μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g., at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g., μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g., μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0052] Figure 2 illustrates an example of a procedure of supporting handover prediction in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure.

[0053] Referring to Figure 2, UE may access the serving NE (or source NE) , e.g., a serving gNB via master cell group (MCG) only or via dual connectivity (DC) , e.g., both  MCG and secondary cell group (SCG) . The MCG may include a primary cell (PCell) and optionally one or more secondary cells (SCells) . The SCG may include a primary secondary cell (PSCell) and optionally one or more SCells. UE may be configured with measurement configuration related to measurements (actual measurements) , e.g., measurement configuration related to L1 measurement and / or L3 measurement. Based on the measurement configuration related to measurements, UE may send measurement reports, e.g., L1 measurement reports and / or L3 measurement reports to the serving gNB, e.g., MCG gNB or SCG gNB.

[0054] Based on the measurement reports, the serving gNB may determine to initiate mobility configuration. For example, the serving gNB may transmit a request message associated with handover, e.g., a handover request to at least one candidate gNB (or candidate target gNB) , e.g., candidate gNB#1 and candidate gNB#2 in step 201. An exemplary handover request may include at least one candidate cell (or candidate target cell) and UE context. A candidate cell may be a candidate PCell (or associated with a candidate MCG) or candidate PSCell (or associated with a candidate SCG) .

[0055] For a candidate gNB receiving the request message associated with handover, the candidate gNB, e.g., candidate gNB#1 or candidate gNB#2 may decide whether to accept the request related to each associated candidate cell thereof. If the candidate gNB decides to accept the request related to an associated candidate cell, it may respond to the serving gNB in step 203 with the configuration information for the accepted candidate cell. For example, candidate gNB#1 and candidate gNB#2 may transmit a handover request acknowledge message including the RRC configuration for candidate cell (s) accepting the request.

[0056] After receiving the configuration information for one or more candidate cells from the at least one candidate gNB, e.g., candidate gNB#1 and candidate gNB#2, the serving gNB may determine configuration information related to handover prediction for the one or more candidate cells, and then transmit the determined configuration information related to handover prediction for the one or more candidate cells in step 205. For example, the serving gNB may transmit a RRC reconfiguration message including the configuration information related to handover prediction for the one or more candidate cells to UE. Exemplary configuration information related to handover prediction may include at least one of the  following: indication of handover prediction for a candidate cell, time information associated with handover prediction, indication of direct handover prediction, condition (s) used for indirect handover prediction, or threshold (s) associated with handover prediction reporting etc.

[0057] In UE side, after receiving the handover prediction configuration for the one or more candidate cells, UE may start to perform handover prediction based on the received handover prediction configuration in step 207.

[0058] For example, an exemplary indication of handover prediction for a candidate cell may indicate UE to perform handover prediction for the candidate cell or not. Based on a received indication indicates UE to perform handover prediction for a candidate cell, UE may perform handover prediction for the candidate cell.

[0059] Exemplary time information associated with handover prediction may be time instance (s) e.g., t0 or time window (s) , e.g., [t1, t2] for handover prediction, so that UE may perform handover prediction handover based on the time instance (s) or time window (s) . For example, UE may predict the probability of handover towards a certain candidate cell before a configured time instance, e.g., t0 or within a configured time window, e.g., [t1, t2] .

[0060] An exemplary indication of direct handover prediction may indicate UE to predict a probability of handover towards a candidate cell based on time information, or predict whether a handover towards a candidate cell will occur based on time information or predict other handover associated information. For example, in the case of receiving an indication of direct handover prediction, UE may predict the probability of handover towards a candidate cell based on the configured time instance or configured time window directly. For another example, in the case of receiving an indication of direct handover prediction, UE may predict whether a handover towards a candidate cell will occur based on the configured time instance or time window.

[0061] Regarding the condition (s) used for indirect handover prediction, the serving gNB may provide condition (s) (or event (s) or the like) for each associated candidate cell to UE. UE may perform handover prediction based on the provided condition (s) . If the condition (s) is predicted as fulfilled during a time window or before a time instance, the handover is  predicted to occur during the time window or before the time instance. Various conditions used for indirect handover prediction can be configured or predefined.

[0062] For example, condition (s) used for indirect handover prediction may include at least one of the following: a quality of serving cell, e.g., serving PCell or PScell is better than an absolute threshold configured by network; a quality of serving cell is worse than an absolute threshold configured by network; a quality of serving cell is worse than a threshold but a quality of a candidate cell, e.g., a candidate PCell or PScell is better than another threshold; or a quality of a candidate cell is better than an absolute threshold configured by network. Some exemplary conditions used for indirect handover prediction are listed below for reference.

[0063] Condition#1: quality of serving cell becomes better than absolute threshold;

[0064] Condition#2: quality of serving cell becomes worse than absolute threshold;

[0065] Condition#3: quality of neighbour cell becomes an amount of offset better than PCell or PSCell;

[0066] Condition#4: quality of neighbour cell becomes better than absolute threshold;

[0067] Condition#5: quality of PCell or PSCell becomes worse than an absolute threshold, e.g., absolute threshold1 and quality of neighbour cell or SCell becomes better than another absolute threshold, e.g., absolute threshold2;

[0068] Condition#6: quality of neighbour cell becomes an amount of offset better than SCell;

[0069] Condition#7: distance between UE and a reference location, e.g., referenceLocation1 becomes larger than a configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference1 and distance between UE and another reference location, e.g., referenceLocation2 becomes shorter than another configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference2;

[0070] Condition#8: distance between UE and the serving cell moving reference location, e.g., determined based on movingReferenceLocation and its corresponding satellite ephemeris and epoch time broadcast in SIB19 becomes larger than configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference1 and distance between UE and a moving reference location, e.g., determined based on referenceLocation and its corresponding satellite ephemeris and epoch time for the neighbour cell, e.g., provided in the associated MeasObjectNR becomes shorter than configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference2;

[0071] Condition#9: conditional reconfiguration candidate becomes an amount of offset better than PCell or PSCell;

[0072] Condition#10: conditional reconfiguration candidate becomes better than absolute threshold, e.g., where condEventA4 can also be used for current PSCell (e.g., in the case that it is configured as candidate PSCell for CondEvent A4 evaluation) for conditional handover (CHO) with candidate SCG (s) case;

[0073] Condition#11: quality of PCell or PSCell becomes worse than an absolute threshold, e.g., threshold1 and conditional reconfiguration candidate becomes better than another absolute threshold, e.g., threshold2;

[0074] Condition#12: distance between UE and a reference location, e.g., referenceLocation1 becomes larger than a configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference1 and distance between UE and another reference location, e.g., referenceLocation2 of conditional reconfiguration candidate becomes shorter than a configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference2;

[0075] Condition#13: distance between UE and the serving cell moving reference location, e.g., determined based on movingReferenceLocation and its corresponding satellite ephemeris and epoch time broadcast in SIB19 becomes larger than configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference1 and distance between UE and a moving reference location, e.g., determined based on referenceLocation and its corresponding satellite ephemeris and epoch time for the conditional reconfiguration candidate, e.g., provided in the associated MeasObjectNR becomes shorter than a configured threshold, e.g., distanceThreshFromReference2;

[0076] Condition#14: time measured at UE becomes more than a configured threshold, e.g., t1-Threshold but is less than the threshold plus a duration, e.g., t1-Threshold + duration;

[0077] Condition#15: interference becomes higher than absolute threshold, where measurement reporting event is based on cross link interference (CLI) measurement results, which is derived based on sounding reference signal (SRS) -reference signal receiving power (RSRP) or CLI-received signal strength indicator (RSSI) ;

[0078] Condition#16-1: aerial UE altitude becomes higher than a threshold;

[0079] Condition#16-2: aerial UE altitude becomes lower than a threshold;

[0080] Condition#16-3: quality of neighbour cell becomes offset better than a special cell (SpCell) and the aerial UE altitude becomes higher than a threshold;

[0081] Condition#16-4: quality of neighbour cell becomes offset better than SpCell and the aerial UE altitude becomes lower than a threshold;

[0082] Condition#16-5: quality of neighbour cell becomes better than a threshold, e.g., threshold1 and the aerial UE altitude becomes higher than another threshold, e.g., threshold2;

[0083] Condition#16-6: quality of neighbour cell becomes better than a threshold, e.g., threshold1 and the aerial UE altitude becomes lower than another threshold, e.g., threshold2;

[0084] Condition#16-7: quality of SpCell becomes worse than a threshold, e.g., threshold1 and quality of neighbour cell becomes better than another threshold, e.g., threshold2 and the aerial UE altitude becomes higher than yet another threshold, e.g., threshold3; and

[0085] Condition#16-8: quality of SpCell becomes worse than a threshold, e.g., threshold1 and quality of neighbour cell becomes better than a threshold, e.g., threshold2 and the aerial UE altitude becomes lower than yet another threshold, e.g., threshold3.

[0086] It can be seen that all of conditions 16-1 to 16-8 concern aerial UE altitude, wherein conditions#16-3 to 16-8 concern aerial UE altitude and the neighbour cell measurements simultaneously.

[0087] Regarding the threshold associated with handover prediction reporting, it may be based on various handover prediction results or conditions etc. For example, an exemplary threshold associated with handover prediction reporting is associated with predicted probability of handover towards a candidate cell. Once the predicted probability of handover towards the candidate cell is greater than the corresponding threshold, the handover prediction results of the candidate cell will be included in handover prediction report.

[0088] In addition, when there are multiple candidate cells need to be predicted, UE may predict where handover will be firstly executed based on configured time information and associated handover prediction results. For example, UE may predict to which cell (one or more) UE will be handed over first based on the predicted probabilities of handover towards the multiple candiate cells before a time instance.

[0089] In the case that UE predicts the probability of handover towards a candidate cell is high, e.g., higher than a configured or predefined threshold, UE may reduce one or more of the measurement, RLM or BFD in UE side. For example, a threshold of handover probability is configured by network, e.g., the serving gNB to UE. Once the probability of handover towards a candidate cell is greater than the configured threshold of handover probability, UE may apply one or more of relaxed measurement, RLM or BFD (or measurement, RLM or BFD relaxation) , or UE may even stop one or more of the measurement, RLM or BFD and corresponding reporting.

[0090] Whether one or more of the relaxed measurement, RLM or BFD can be applied, or whether one or more of stopping the measurement, RLM or BFD can be applied is configured by network. For example, network may configure to UE a cell list that UE can perform relaxed measurement, RLM and / or BFD. In that case that both low mobility criterion and good serving cell criterion are configured for RLM and / or BFD relaxation, UE is allowed to perform RLM and / or BFD relaxation, e.g., according to requirements specified in TS 38.133 when both relaxed measurement criterion for low mobility and relaxed measurement criterion for good serving cell quality are met. In the case that only the good serving cell  quality criterion is configured for RLM and / or BFD skipping, UE is allowed to perform RLM and / or BFD skipping, e.g., according to requirements specified in TS 38.133 when the relaxed measurement criterion for good serving cell quality is met. These are similar to that specified in section 5.7.13, TS38.331, and will not repeat herein.

[0091] In step 209, UE may report handover prediction results of part or all of the configured candidate cells to the serving gNB, e.g., by sending a handover prediction report.

[0092] After sending a handover prediction report, UE may continue performing handover prediction for the associated candidate cell (s) based on the configuration information related to handover prediction. In some cases, UE may update the handover predication results based on condition (s) for prediction result updating in step 211, e.g., transmitting a new handover prediction report. Exemplary condition (s) for prediction result updating may be a threshold associated with prediction result updating, or a time period associated with prediction result updating etc. For example, an exemplary threshold associated with prediction result updating is a threshold of handover prediction result change (or difference or the like) , e.g., 5%. In the case that the difference between the last reported handover prediction result of a candidate cell, e.g., a last reported handover probability and the latest handover prediction result of the candidate cell, e.g., a latest predicted handover probability is greater than the threshold of handover prediction result difference, e.g., 5%, UE will be triggered to report the latest handover prediction results of the candidate cell to network. Different candidate cells may be configured with different conditions for prediction result updating. For example, different probability change thresholds may be configured for the candidate cells respectively with low and high handover probabilities.

[0093] In the network side, based on the received handover prediction report, the network, e.g., serving gNB may perform various UE mobility enhancements in step 213.

[0094] For example, in legacy early data forwarding, a source NG-RAN node initiates data forwarding before the UE executes the handover, to a candidate target node of interest. However, in accordance with various spects of the present disclosure, the handover prediction results may be used for optimizing the early data forwarding. For example, in the case that UE predicts and reports the time information, e.g., time instance or time window associated with handover execution towards a candidate cell, the network can determine the  suitable time for early data forwarding based on the reported probability of handover towards the candidate cell and the corresponding the time information.

[0095] In accordance with various spects of the present disclosure, the handover prediction results may be used for optimizing the reserved resource in candidate gNB side. For example, in the case that UE predicts and report the arrival probability towards a candidate cell based on time information, e.g., time window or time instance, the serving gNB may transmit the arrival probability towards a certain candidate cell to the associated candidate gNB (or target gNB) , e.g., candidate gNB#1, so that the associated candidate gNB can reserve or update suitable resources for the UE based on the arrival probability and time information.

[0096] In accordance with various spects of the present disclosure, the handover prediction results may be used for optimizing candidate cell preparation. For example, if UE predicts and reports a low probability of handover towards a candidate cell, the serving gNB would like to cancel the prepared candidate cell, e.g., a candidate cell associated with candidate gNB#1 via Xn interface, e.g., by a handover cancel message with a cause value (e.g., a low arrival probability) .

[0097] Regarding handover towards a target cell, e.g., a cell associated with candidate gNB#1 in the scenarios of AI based mobility, it may be triggered or activated in various manners besides the legacy manners, e.g., based on one or more of an activation message, actual measurement results or handover prediction results etc.

[0098] For example, in some implementations of the present disclosure, in step 215, the serving gNB may transmit a handover activation message or command to UE based on received handover prediction results and / or other information, e.g., network side prediction results. UE may perform the handover to the target cell in response to receiving the handover activation message in some scenarios. In some other scenarios, the handover activation message may include a time instance, e.g., a timer value. UE may continue evaluating a condition associated with handover execution based on the actual measurement results in step 217, which is similar to legacy conditional handover, and perform the handover to the target cell in step 219 in the case that the condition is met at the time indicated in the activation message.

[0099] In some implementations of the present disclosure, UE may autonomously execute handover to the target cell in step 219 based on the handover prediction results and / or actual measurement results. In some scenarios, before the handover execution, UE may report to the network one or more of: the determined or selected target cell for handover, or the time information, e.g., a time instance related to the handover. For example, UE may continue performing handover prediction on associated candidate cells based on a condition associated with handover execution, and perform the handover to the candidate cell determined as target cell in the case that the condition associated with handover execution is met based on handover prediction results of the candidate cell. Besides the handover prediction, UE may also continue evaluating the condition similar to CHO condition in some scenarios.

[0100] Figure 3 illustrates an example of a UE 300 in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The UE 300 may include a processor 302, a memory 304, a controller 306, and a transceiver 308. The processor 302, the memory 304, the controller 306, or the transceiver 308, or various combinations thereof or various components thereof may be examples of means for performing various aspects of the present disclosure as described herein. These components may be coupled (e.g., operatively, communicatively, functionally, electronically, electrically) via one or more interfaces.

[0105] The controller 306 may manage input and output signals for the UE 300. The controller 306 may also manage peripherals not integrated into the UE 300. In some implementations, the controller 306 may utilize an operating system such as  or other operating systems. In some implementations, the controller 306 may be implemented as part of the processor 302.
