[0041] In some implementations of the UE described herein, the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to: remove a conditional handover (CHO) configuration of a first candidate cell within the one or more first candidate cells after an execution of the first conditional LTM, if the first candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell; or remove an LTM configuration of the first candidate cell after the execution of the first conditional LTM upon a reception of an instruction from the BS, if the first candidate cell is also configured as an LTM candidate cell.

[0042] In some implementations of the UE described herein, the at least one processor is configured to cause the UE to: remove the one or more first conditional LTM candidate configurations and the one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations of a first candidate cell within the one or more first candidate cells after an execution of a CHO or an LTM, if the first candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell or an LTM candidate cell; or remove the one or more first conditional LTM candidate configurations and keep the one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations of the first candidate cell after the execution of the CHO or the LTM, if the first candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell or an LTM candidate cell.

[0055] In general, when a UE moves from one cell to another cell, at some point a serving cell change needs to be performed. In the legacy, the serving cell change is done by explicit radio resource control (RRC) reconfiguration signalling (e.g. a handover (HO) command) to trigger the synchronization of a target cell based on Layer-3 (L3) measurements report. It leads to longer latency, larger overhead, and longer interruption time than beam level mobility. Therefore, in 3GPP, LTM was approved to change a serving cell via L1 / L2 signalling, in order to reduce the latency, overhead and interruption time.

[0056] LTM is a procedure in which a network equipment (e.g. a BS) receives L1 measurement report (s) from a UE, and on their basis the BS changes UE’s serving cell by a cell switch command signaled via a medium access control (MAC) control element (CE) . The cell switch command indicates an LTM candidate cell configuration that the BS previously prepared and provided to the UE through RRC signalling. Then the UE switches to the target cell according to the cell switch command. The LTM can be used to reduce the mobility latency. LTM may also be named as a layer 1 / layer 2 (L1 / L2) lower layer-Triggered Mobility or the like.

[0057] Master cell group (MCG) LTM is a PCell switch procedure that the network triggers via a MAC CE based on L1 measurements. Secondary cell group (SCG) LTM is a PSCell switch procedure that the network triggers via a MAC CE based on L1 measurements. The potential applicable scenarios of LTM include "intra-CU intra-DU LTM, " "intra-CU inter-DU LTM, " and "inter-CU LTM" as shown in Figures 5A-5C as described below.

[0058] (1) Intra-CU intra-DU mobility: a UE moves between different cells within a DU.

[0059] (2) Intra-CU inter-DU mobility: a UE moves between different cells belonging to different DUs but within a CU.

[0060] (3) Inter-CU mobility: a UE moves between different cells belonging to different DUs different CUs.

[0061] In an MCG LTM procedure or an LTM PCell switch procedure from a source cell (or source PCell) to a target cell (or target PCell) in a dual connectivity scenario, a node which generates an RRC reconfiguration message for the MCG LTM switch procedure or the LTM PCell switch procedure, or which determines to initiate MCG LTM may be a MN or a CU of the MN.

[0062] In an SCG LTM procedure or an LTM PSCell switch procedure from a source PSCell to a target PSCell in a dual connectivity scenario, a node which generates an RRC reconfiguration message for the SCG LTM switch procedure or the LTM PSCell switch procedure, or which determines to initiate SCG LTM may be a MN or an SN or a CU of the MN or a CU of the SN, furthermore, the SN may be a node to which the serving PSCell or source PSCell belongs (e.g. a source SN) , or the SN may be a node to which the target PSCell for LTM belongs (e.g. a target SN) .

[0063] A subsequent LTM refers to LTM cell switch procedures between candidate cells without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between. In some cases, a subsequent LTM may be supported. A subsequent LTM means subsequent LTM cell switch procedures between LTM candidate cells where a UE does not need to be reconfigured by the network in between. Taking intra-CU inter-DU LTM as an example, Figure 5D show an LTM and a subsequent LTM of a UE.

[0064] Figure 5D illustrates a schematic diagram of an LTM and a subsequent LTM in an intra-CU inter-DU mobility scenario in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. As shown in Figure 5D, an LTM refers to the mobility of a UE from a source DU to candidate DU1. A subsequent LTM refers to the mobility of a UE from candidate DU1 to candidate DU2, or the mobility from candidate DU1 back to the source DU, without any further RRC reconfiguration.

[0065] For a conditional LTM, the handover procedure is executed only when execution condition (s) are met. That is, the handover is executed by a UE when one or more handover execution conditions (e.g., execution condition consisting of one or more trigger conditions, where the trigger condition is LTM event) are met. The UE starts evaluating the execution condition (s) upon receiving the conditional LTM and stops evaluating the execution condition (s) once a handover is executed.

[0066] For a conditional LTM and / or a subsequent conditional LTM, the following issues need to be considered:

[0067] - issue 1: How to provide one or more execution conditions of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM?

[0068] - issue 2: How to provide one or more execution conditions of a candidate cell for the following execution of a subsequent conditional LTM (i.e. one or more subsequent conditional LTM execution conditions) ?

[0069] - issue 3: How to prepare a conditional LTM configuration of a candidate cell a conditional LTM?

[0070] - issue 4: How to support the coexistence of mobility for the same candidate cell, including a conditional handover (CHO) , an LTM, and a conditional LTM?

[0071] Embodiments of the present disclosure aim to resolve the abovementioned issues. Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 1 to solve issue 1) in which a source DU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM. In particular, a source DU obtains a CSI resource of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM from a CU. The CSI resource may include an SSB-index and the associated conditional LTM index. The conditional LTM index may be used to identify a conditional LTM candidate configuration. The source DU may generate the execution condition of the candidate cell of the conditional LTM and sends the execution condition to the CU. For instance, the execution condition includes a conditional LTM event and the CSI resource. The CU sends the received execution condition to the UE. For example, the conditional LTM event may include at least one of the following:

[0072] - CondEventLTM2: a beam of a serving cell becomes worse than an absolute threshold.

[0073] - CondEventLTM3: a conditional reconfiguration beam of a candidate cell becomes an amount of offset better than a beam of a serving cell.

[0074] - CondEventLTM4: a conditional reconfiguration beam of a candidate cell becomes better than an absolute threshold.

[0075] - CondEventLTM5: a beam of a serving cell becomes worse than an absolute threshold and a conditional reconfiguration beam of a candidate cell becomes better than another absolute threshold.

[0076] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 2 to solve issue 1) in which a source DU provides a conditional LTM event and a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM. In particular, a source DU may generate a conditional LTM event of a candidate cell and sends the conditional LTM event to a CU. The CU may send the received conditional LTM event to a UE. The CU may send a common CSI resource to the UE, where the common CSI resource includes CSI resources of multiple candidate cells of the conditional LTM.

[0077] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 3 to solve issue 1) in which a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM. In particular, a CU may generate an execution condition of a candidate cell and sends it to a UE, where the execution condition includes the conditional LTM event generated by the CU and a CSI resource. The CU receives the L1 measurement result from the source DU, which may be used by the CU to generate the conditional LTM event.

[0078] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 4 to solve issue 1) in which a candidate DU provides a conditional LTM event, and a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM. In particular, a candidate DU receives a L1 measurement result from a source DU via a CU. The candidate DU generates the conditional LTM event and sends the conditional LTM event to the CU. The CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM to the UE. Such execution condition may include: (1) the conditional LTM event of the candidate cell received from the candidate DU; and (2) a CSI resource of the candidate cell.

[0079] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 5 to solve issue 1) in which a candidate DU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional  LTM. In particular, a candidate DU receives a L1 measurement result from a source DU via a CU. The candidate DU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a conditional LTM and sends it to the CU. Such execution condition may include a conditional LTM event and a CSI resource. The CU sends the execution condition of the candidate cell to a UE.

[0080] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 1 to solve issue 2) in which a candidate DU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a subsequent conditional LTM. In particular, a candidate DU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of a subsequent conditional LTM and sends it to a CU. The execution condition may include a conditional LTM event and a CSI resource. The CU sends the received execution condition to a UE. The candidate DU determines the candidate cells for the subsequent conditional LTM based on "one or more suggested candidate cells for the subsequent conditional LTM sent from the CU" or "a L3 measurement result of one or more candidate cells sent from the CU. "

[0081] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 2 to solve issue 2) in which a candidate DU provides a conditional LTM event used for a subsequent conditional LTM, and a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of the subsequent conditional LTM. In particular, a candidate DU generates a conditional LTM event used for the subsequent conditional LTM and sends it to a CU. The CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of the subsequent conditional LTM and sends it to a UE. Such execution condition may include: (1) the conditional LTM event of the candidate cell for subsequent conditional LTM received from the candidate DU; and (2) the conditional LTM CSI resource of the candidate cell.

[0082] Some embodiments design a solution (denoted as solution 3 to solve issue 2) in which a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of the subsequent conditional LTM. In particular, a CU generates an execution condition of a candidate cell of the subsequent conditional LTM and sends it to the UE. Such execution condition may include a conditional LTM event generated by the CU and a CSI resource.

[0083] Some embodiments design a solution (which aims to solve issue 3) which introduces an indicator to indicate a conditional LTM request and an indicator to indicate a conditional LTM configuration of a candidate cell. There may be following three options in this solution:

[0084] - Option 1: a first level information element (IE) within a UE CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message, a UE CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE message, a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUEST message, or a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION RESPONSE message.

[0085] - Option 2: a second level IE or a codepoint within an LTM related IE, indicating that the LTM is a conditional LTM.

[0086] - Option 3: a second level IE or a codepoint within the conditional mobility related IE, indicating that the conditional mobility is a conditional LTM.

[0087] Some embodiments design a solution (which aims to solve issue 4) which supports the coexistence of mobility for the same candidate cell, including a CHO, an LTM, and a conditional LTM. The solution may introduce an indicator within the RRC reconfiguration complete message, to indicate ID information of the selected conditional reconfiguration which a UE applied upon an execution of the conditional LTM. For example, the indicator may be a conditional LTM index, where the conditional LTM index is used to identify a conditional LTM configuration. The solution may introduce an indicator within an ACCESS SUCCESS message sent from a target DU to a CU, to inform the CU that the UE has successfully accessed a cell during the conditional LTM. The solution may define behavior of a UE when one mobility is triggered, e.g. (1) after an LTM cell switch execution or a CHO cell switch execution, the UE may remove the conditional LTM configuration, except for the subsequent conditional LTM configuration; or (2) after the conditional LTM cell switch execution, the UE may remove the LTM configuration upon a reception of an instruction from the network. The UE may remove the CHO configuration.

[0088] In the present disclosure, for simplicity, CLTM denotes a conditional LTM. S-CLTM denotes a subsequent conditional LTM. In some cases, CLTM only refers to an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met. In some other cases, CLTM is a general concept including both of: (1) an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met; and (2) a subsequent LTM cell switch "from a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between. In some additional cases, CLTM only refers to a subsequent LTM cell switch "from  a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between.

[0089] In the present disclosure, an execution condition for conditional LTM may be named as "a CLTM execution condition" or the like. An execution condition for a subsequent conditional LTM may be named as "an S-CLTM execution condition" or the like.

[0090] In the present disclosure, a CLTM candidate configuration refers to a configuration part of an RRC reconfiguration message associated with a candidate cell for CLTM. A CLTM candidate configuration can be a complete candidate configuration or a delta configuration relatively to a reference configuration.

[0091] In the present disclosure, a candidate DU is a NG-RAN node which is responsible for one or more CLTM candidate cells. The CLTM candidate cells may be in the same candidate DU or different candidate DU. For example, CLTM candidate cell #1 is in a candidate DU (e.g. candidate DU1 as shown in Figure 5D) , and CLTM candidate cell #2 is in another candidate DU (e.g. candidate DU2 as shown in Figure 5D) . In some cases, the CLTM candidate cell is in the source DU, and the source DU is also a candidate DU. For simplicity, C-DU denotes a candidate DU. S-DU denotes a source DU.

[0092] More details of the embodiments of the present disclosure will be illustrated in the following text in combination with the appended drawings.

[0095] An NE 102 may provide a geographic coverage area for which the NE 102 may support services for one or more UEs 104 within the geographic coverage area. For example, an NE 102 and a UE 104 may support wireless communication of signals related to services (e.g. voice, video, packet data, messaging, broadcast, etc. ) according to one or multiple radio access technologies. In some implementations, an NE 102 may be moveable, for example, a satellite associated with a non-terrestrial network (NTN) . In some implementations, different geographic coverage areas associated with the same or different radio access technologies may overlap, but the different geographic coverage areas may be associated with different NE 102.

[0096] The one or more UE 104 may be dispersed throughout a geographic region of the wireless communications system 100. A UE 104 may include or may be referred to as a remote unit, a mobile device, a wireless device, a remote device, a subscriber device, a transmitter device, a receiver device, or some other suitable terminology. In some implementations, the UE 104 may be referred to as a unit, a station, a terminal, or a client, among other examples. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE 104 may be referred to as an Internet-of-Things (IoT) device, an Internet-of-Everything (IoE) device, or machine-type communication (MTC) device, among other examples.

[0097] A UE 104 may be able to support wireless communication directly with other UEs 104 over a communication link. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless  communication directly with another UE 104 over a device-to-device (D2D) communication link. In some implementations, such as vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) deployments, vehicle-to-everything (V2X) deployments, or cellular-V2X deployments, the communication link may be referred to as a sidelink. For example, a UE 104 may support wireless communication directly with another UE 104 over a PC5 interface.

[0098] An NE 102 may support communications with the CN 106, or with another NE 102, or both. For example, an NE 102 may interface with other NE 102 or the CN 106 through one or more backhaul links (e.g. S1, N2, or network interface) . In some implementations, the NE 102 may communicate with each other directly. In some other implementations, the NE 102 may communicate with each other or indirectly (e.g. via the CN 106. In some implementations, one or more NE 102 may include subcomponents, such as an access network entity, which may be an example of an access node controller (ANC) . An ANC may communicate with the one or more UEs 104 through one or more other access network transmission entities, which may be referred to as a radio heads, smart radio heads, or transmission-reception points (TRPs) .

[0099] The CN 106 may support user authentication, access authorization, tracking, connectivity, and other access, routing, or mobility functions. The CN 106 may be an evolved packet core (EPC) , or a 5G core (5GC) , which may include a control plane entity that manages access and mobility (e.g. a mobility management entity (MME) , an access and mobility management functions (AMF) ) and a user plane entity that routes packets or interconnects to external networks (e.g. a serving gateway (S-GW) , a Packet Data Network (PDN) gateway (P-GW) , or a user plane function (UPF) ) . In some implementations, the control plane entity may manage non-access stratum (NAS) functions, such as mobility, authentication, and bearer management (e.g. data bearers, signal bearers, etc. ) for the one or more UEs 104 served by the one or more NE 102 associated with the CN 106.

[0100] The CN 106 may communicate with a packet data network over one or more backhaul links (e.g. via an S1, N2, or another network interface) . The packet data network may include an application server. In some implementations, one or more UEs 104 may communicate with the application server. A UE 104 may establish a session (e.g. a protocol data unit (PDU) session, or the like) with the CN 106 via an NE 102. The CN 106 may route traffic (e.g. control information, data, and the like) between the UE 104 and the application  server using the established session (e.g. the established PDU session) . The PDU session may be an example of a logical connection between the UE 104 and the CN 106 (e.g. one or more network functions of the CN 106) .

[0101] In the wireless communications system 100, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may use resources of the wireless communications system 100 (e.g. time resources (e.g. symbols, slots, subframes, frames, or the like) or frequency resources (e.g. subcarriers, carriers) ) to perform various operations (e.g. wireless communications) . In some implementations, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support different resource structures. For example, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support different frame structures. In some implementations, such as in 4G, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support a single frame structure. In some other implementations, such as in 5G and among other suitable radio access technologies, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures (i.e., multiple frame structures) . The NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may support various frame structures based on one or more numerologies.

[0102] One or more numerologies may be supported in the wireless communications system 100, and a numerology may include a subcarrier spacing and a cyclic prefix. A first numerology (e.g. μ=0) may be associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g. 15 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. In some implementations, the first numerology (e.g. μ=0) associated with the first subcarrier spacing (e.g. 15 kHz) may utilize one slot per subframe. A second numerology (e.g. μ=1) may be associated with a second subcarrier spacing (e.g. 30 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A third numerology (e.g. μ=2) may be associated with a third subcarrier spacing (e.g. 60 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix or an extended cyclic prefix. A fourth numerology (e.g. μ=3) may be associated with a fourth subcarrier spacing (e.g. 120 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix. A fifth numerology (e.g. μ=4) may be associated with a fifth subcarrier spacing (e.g. 240 kHz) and a normal cyclic prefix.

[0103] A time interval of a resource (e.g. a communication resource) may be organized according to frames (also referred to as radio frames) . Each frame may have a duration, for example, a 10 millisecond (ms) duration. In some implementations, each frame may include multiple subframes. For example, each frame may include 10 subframes, and each subframe may have a duration, for example, a 1 ms duration. In some implementations, each frame  may have the same duration. In some implementations, each subframe of a frame may have the same duration.

[0104] Additionally or alternatively, a time interval of a resource (e.g. a communication resource) may be organized according to slots. For example, a subframe may include a number (e.g. quantity) of slots. The number of slots in each subframe may also depend on the one or more numerologies supported in the wireless communications system 100. For instance, the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth numerologies (i.e., μ=0, μ=1, μ=2, μ=3, μ=4) associated with respective subcarrier spacings of 15 kHz, 30 kHz, 60 kHz, 120 kHz, and 240 kHz may utilize a single slot per subframe, two slots per subframe, four slots per subframe, eight slots per subframe, and 16 slots per subframe, respectively. Each slot may include a number (e.g. quantity) of symbols (e.g. OFDM symbols) . In some implementations, the number (e.g. quantity) of slots for a subframe may depend on a numerology. For a normal cyclic prefix, a slot may include 14 symbols. For an extended cyclic prefix (e.g. applicable for 60 kHz subcarrier spacing) , a slot may include 12 symbols. The relationship between the number of symbols per slot, the number of slots per subframe, and the number of slots per frame for a normal cyclic prefix and an extended cyclic prefix may depend on a numerology. It should be understood that reference to a first numerology (e.g. μ=0) associated with a first subcarrier spacing (e.g. 15 kHz) may be used interchangeably between subframes and slots.

[0105] In the wireless communications system 100, an electromagnetic (EM) spectrum may be split, based on frequency or wavelength, into various classes, frequency bands, frequency channels, etc. By way of example, the wireless communications system 100 may support one or multiple operating frequency bands, such as frequency range designations FR1 (410 MHz –7.125 GHz) , FR2 (24.25 GHz –52.6 GHz) , FR3 (7.125 GHz –24.25 GHz) , FR4 (52.6 GHz –114.25 GHz) , FR4a or FR4-1 (52.6 GHz –71 GHz) , and FR5 (114.25 GHz –300 GHz) . In some implementations, the NEs 102 and the UEs 104 may perform wireless communications over one or more of the operating frequency bands. In some implementations, FR1 may be used by the NEs 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for cellular communications traffic (e.g. control information, data) . In some implementations, FR2 may be used by the NEs 102 and the UEs 104, among other equipment or devices for short-range, high data rate capabilities.

[0106] FR1 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g. at least three numerologies) . For example, FR1 may be associated with a first numerology (e.g. μ=0) , which includes 15 kHz subcarrier spacing; a second numerology (e.g. μ=1) , which includes 30 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a third numerology (e.g. μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing. FR2 may be associated with one or multiple numerologies (e.g. at least 2 numerologies) . For example, FR2 may be associated with a third numerology (e.g. μ=2) , which includes 60 kHz subcarrier spacing; and a fourth numerology (e.g. μ=3) , which includes 120 kHz subcarrier spacing.

[0147] In some implementations of the method, at least one (e.g. each) of CLTM execution condition (s) includes a conditional LTM event which indicates criteria for triggering of a conditional LTM (which may be the conditional LTM cell switch or the subsequent conditional LTM cell switch, e.g. CLTM #1 or S-CLTM #1) . In some cases, the conditional LTM only refers to an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met. In some other cases, the conditional LTM refers to both of: (1) an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met; and (2) a subsequent LTM cell switch "from a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between. In some additional cases, the conditional LTM only refers to a subsequent LTM cell switch "from a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between.

[0148] In an implementation, at least one (e.g. each) of CLTM execution condition (s) further includes one or more CSI resources of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 associated with CLTM #1.

[0149] In some implementations, at least one (e.g. each) of S-CLTM execution condition (s) includes a conditional LTM event which indicates criteria for triggering of a conditional LTM (e.g. CLTM #1 or S-CLTM #1) . In an implementation, at least one (e.g. each) of S-CLTM execution condition (s) further includes one or more CSI resources of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1.

[0150] In some embodiments, the conditional LTM event includes at least one of the following:

[0151] (1) a beam of the serving cell of the UE becomes worse than a first threshold (e.g. an absolute threshold) , e.g. CondEventLTM2;

[0152] (2) a conditional reconfiguration beam of a candidate cell becomes an amount of offset better than the beam of the serving cell, e.g. CondEventLTM3;

[0153] (3) the conditional reconfiguration beam of the candidate cell becomes better than a second threshold (e.g. an absolute threshold) , e.g. CondEventLTM4; or

[0154] (4) the beam of the serving cell becomes worse than a third threshold (e.g. absolute threhold1) and the conditional reconfiguration beam of the candidate cell becomes better than a fourth threshold (e.g. absolute threhold2) , e.g. CondEventLTM5.

[0155] In some implementations of the method, the BS may transmit at least one of the following to the UE:

[0156] (1) a configuration (denoted as configuration #1) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #1 associated with CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE; or

[0157] (2) a configuration (denoted as configuration #2) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE.

[0158] In some embodiments, configuration #1 is the same as configuration #2. In this case, the BS configures the same set of CSI resources for both candidate cell (s) #1 and candidate cell (s) #2, as measurement objects by the UE for CLTM #1 and S-CLTM #1.

[0159] In some implementations, configuration #1 includes a set of SSB indexes indicating one or more SSB resources, wherein each SSB index is associated with an index  (e.g. a CLTM index) used for identifying a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1.

[0160] In some implementations, configuration #2 includes a set of SSB indexes indicating one or more SSB resources, wherein each SSB index is associated with an index (e.g. a S-CLTM index) used for identifying a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #2 related to candidate cell (s) #2.

[0161] In some implementations of the method, the BS may transmit, to the UE (e.g. via an RRC reconfiguration message) , an indicator that indicates the UE to apply a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 of a candidate cell (which is selected by the UE via a cell selection) within candidate cell (s) #1. For example, this indicator is a third indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0162] In some implementations of the method, the BS may receive, from the UE (e.g. via an RRC reconfiguration complete message) , an indicator that indicates a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 that is applied by the UE upon an execution of CLTM #1. For example, this indicator is a fifth indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0163] In some implementations of the method, the BS includes a CU, a source DU serving the UE, and one or more candidate DUs.

[0164] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to receive a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 of a candidate cell (denoted as cell #1) within candidate cell (s) #1 from a candidate DU (which is responsible for cell #1) within the one or more candidate DUs.

[0165] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to receive a subsequent conditional LTM configuration within one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations of cell #1 from the candidate DU which is responsible for cell #1. The candidate DU becomes the source DU serving the UE after completing a conditional LTM towards cell #1.

[0166] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to transmit, to a candidate DU within the one or more candidate DUs, a request (denoted as request #1, e.g. a UE context setup request message) including an indicator for indicating that request #1 concerns a conditional  LTM (which may be the conditional LTM or the subsequent conditional LTM, e.g. CLTM #1 or S-CLTM #1) . For example, this indicator is a first indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows. In an embodiment, this indicator is an enumerated value of an IE.

[0167] In some embodiments, request #1 includes at least one of the following:

[0168] (1) a configuration (e.g. configuration #1) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #1 associated with CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE; or

[0169] (2) a configuration (e.g. configuration #2) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE.

[0170] In some implementations, request #1 includes information (denoted as information #1) , which is to be used by the candidate DU to prepare one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations related to candidate cell (s) #1. The one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations are associated with a subsequent conditional LTM. One candidate cell of candidate cell (s) #1 becomes a serving cell of the UE after completing CLTM #1.

[0171] In some embodiments, information #1 includes at least one of the following:

[0172] (1) ID information of candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1;

[0173] (2) one or more L3 measurement results of one or more neighbor cells (which include candidate cell (s) #2) ; or

[0174] (3) one or more L1 measurement results of one or more beams of one or more neighbor cells (which include candidate cell (s) #2) , or one or more L1 measurement results of one or more beams of the serving cell of the UE.

[0175] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to transmit, to the source DU, a request (denoted as request #2, e.g. a UE context modification request message) including an indicator for indicating that request #2 concerns a conditional LTM (e.g. CLTM #1 or S-CLTM #1) . For example, this indicator is a second indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows. In an embodiment, this indicator is an enumerated value of an IE.

[0176] In some implementations, request #2 includes at least one of the following:

[0177] (1) a configuration (e.g. configuration #1) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #1 associated with CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE; or

[0178] (2) a configuration (e.g. configuration #2) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE.

[0179] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to receive at least one of CLTM execution condition (s) associated with CLTM #1 or S-CLTM execution condition (s) associated with S-CLTM #1 from (1) the source DU or (2) the one or more candidate DUs.

[0180] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to generate at least one of CLTM execution condition (s) associated with CLTM #1 or S-CLTM execution condition (s) associated with S-CLTM #1.

[0181] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to receive, from a candidate DU within the one or more candidate DUs (e.g. via an access success message) , an indicator for indicating that the UE has successfully accessed a cell of the candidate DU by a conditional LTM (e.g. CLTM #1 or S-CLTM #1) . The candidate DU becomes the source DU after completing the conditional LTM. For example, this indicator is a fourth indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0182] In some embodiments, the CU is configured to receive, from the source DU, L1 measurement results which include L1 measurements of one or more beams of one or more neighbor cells and / or the serving cell of the UE.

[0183] In some implementations of the method, the BS includes a source BS and one or more candidate BSs. In this case, the operations between the CU and the candidate DU (s) are applied to the operations between the source BS and the candidate BS (s) . The operations of the source DU and the CU are applied by the source BS.

[0184] It should be noted that the method described in Figure 6 describes possible implementations, and that the operations and the steps may be rearranged or otherwise eliminated or modified and that other implementations are possible, without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure.

[0185] Figure 7 illustrates a flowchart of a method related to a conditional LTM in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. The operations of the method may be  implemented by a UE as described herein. In some implementations, the UE may execute a set of instructions to control the function elements of the UE to perform the described functions. In some implementations, aspects of operations 702 and 704 may be performed by UE 200 as described with reference to Figure 2.702 or 704 may be performed in accordance with examples as described herein. Specific examples are described in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0186] At 702, the method may include receiving, by a UE from a BS, a conditional LTM configuration including one or more conditional LTM candidate configurations (e.g. CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) related to one or more candidate cells (e.g. candidate cell (s) #1 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) . Each conditional LTM candidate configuration is associated with one or more execution conditions (e.g. CLTM execution condition (s) as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) that are used by the UE to execute a first conditional LTM (e.g. CLTM #1 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) .

[0187] The conditional LTM configuration received at 702 may include the same or similar elements as those in the conditional LTM configuration transmitted at 602 in Figure 6. For example, the conditional LTM configuration at 702 may further include one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations related to candidate cell (s) #1, wherein each subsequent conditional LTM configuration includes CLTM candidate configuration (s) #2 related to candidate cell (s) #2. Each conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #2 may be associated with S-CLTM execution condition (s) that are used by the UE to execute S-CLTM #1.

[0188] In some implementations of the method, the UE may evaluate whether CLTM execution condition (s) are fulfilled, and execute CLTM #1 in response to fulfillment of CLTM execution condition (s) . In some implementations of the method, the UE may evaluate whether S-CLTM execution condition (s) are fulfilled, and execute S-CLTM #1 in response to fulfillment of S-CLTM execution condition (s) .

[0189] At 704, the method may include transmitting, by the UE to the BS (e.g. via an RRC reconfiguration complete message) , a confirmation message of successful completion of the conditional LTM configuration.

[0190] In some implementations of the method, the UE may receive at least one of the following from the BS:

[0191] (1) a configuration (e.g. configuration #1 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #1 associated with CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE. This configurations may include the same or similar elements as those in configuration #1 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6.

[0192] (2) a configuration (e.g. configuration #2 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6) regarding a set of CSI resources of candidate cell (s) #2 associated with S-CLTM #1, as a measurement object by the UE. This configuration may include the same or similar elements as those in configuration #2 as described in the embodiments of Figure 6.

[0193] In some implementations of the method, the UE may receive, from the BS (e.g. via an RRC reconfiguration message) , an indicator that indicates the UE to apply a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 of a candidate cell (which is selected by the UE via a cell selection) within candidate cell (s) #1. Then, the UE may apply this conditional LTM candidate configuration of the selected candidate cell. For example, this indicator is a third indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0194] In some implementations of the method, the UE may transmit, to the BS (e.g. via an RRC reconfiguration complete message) , an indicator that indicates a conditional LTM candidate configuration within CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 applied by the UE upon an execution of CLTM #1. For example, this indicator is a fifth indicator in the embodiments of Figures 8 and 9 as follows.

[0195] In some implementations of the method, the UE may remove a CHO configuration of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 after an execution of CLTM #1, if the candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell.

[0196] In some other implementations of the method, the UE may remove an LTM configuration of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 after an execution of CLTM #1 upon a reception of an instruction from the BS, if the candidate cell is also configured as an LTM candidate cell. For example, the UE doesn’ t autonomously remove the LTM  configuration of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 after an execution of CLTM #1, if the candidate cell is also configured as an LTM candidate cell.

[0197] In some implementations of the method, the UE may remove both CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 and the one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 after an execution of a CHO or an LTM, if the candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell or an LTM candidate cell.

[0198] In some other implementations of the method, the UE may remove CLTM candidate configuration (s) #1 and keep the one or more subsequent conditional LTM configurations of a candidate cell within candidate cell (s) #1 after the execution of a CHO or an LTM, if the candidate cell is also configured as a CHO candidate cell or an LTM candidate cell.

[0199] It should be noted that the method described in Figure 7 describes possible implementations, and that the operations and the steps may be rearranged or otherwise eliminated or modified and that other implementations are possible, without departing from the spirit and scope of the disclosure.

[0200] Figures 8 and 9 illustrate schematic diagrams of a conditional LTM in accordance with aspects of the present disclosure. Details described in all other embodiments of the present disclosure are applicable for the embodiments shown in Figures 8 and 9.

[0201] As shown in Figures 8 and 9, a network node (e.g. a BS) is in CU-DU architecture, and includes a CU, a source DU (i.e. S-DU) and one or more candidate DUs (i.e. C-DU (s) ) .

[0202] For example, in some embodiments of Figures 8 and 9, a UE moves from S-DU (e.g. source DU as shown in Figure 5D) to one C-DU (e.g. candidate DU1 as shown in Figure 5D) , and then moves from the C-DU to another C-DU (e.g. candidate DU2 as shown in Figure 5D) . In addition, candidate DU1 is the target DU when the UE moves from S-DU towards candidate DU1, and candidate DU1 is the source DU and candidate DU2 is the target DU when the UE moves from candidate DU1 towards candidate DU2.

[0203] In some embodiments of Figure 8 (denoted as Embodiment 1) , S-DU generates the CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 1 to solve issue 1) and C-DU (s) generates the S-CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 1 to solve issue 2) .

[0204] Embodiment 1

[0205] At 801, the CU may send a request message (i.e. request #1) , e.g. a UE CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message or a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUEST message, to the C-DU (s) for each LTM candidate cell (which may be a CLTM candidate cell) , containing an ID of a first candidate cell. For example, the message includes a first indicator, indicating that this request concerns a conditional LTM for the included first candidate cell's ID.

[0206] In some embodiments, the first indicator indicates that this request concerns an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met.

[0207] In some other embodiments, the first indicator indicates that this request concerns both of: (1) an LTM cell switch from a source DU to candidate DU which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met; and (2) a subsequent LTM cell switch "from a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between.

[0208] In some additional embodiments, the first indicator indicates that this request concerns a subsequent LTM cell switch "from a candidate DU to another candidate DU" or "from a candidate DU back to the source DU" which is executed only when execution condition (s) are met without RRC reconfiguration by the network in between.

[0209] In one example, the first indicator is a first level IE within the message. For example, the structure of the message is shown as below.

[0210] In another example, the first indicator is a second level IE within the LTM Information Setup IE within the message. For example, the structure of the LTM Information Setup IE within the message is shown as below.

[0211] In another example, the first indicator is a codepoint of LTM Indicator IE within the LTM Information Setup IE within the message. For example, the structure of the LTM Information Setup IE within the message is shown as below, and the codepoint is CLTM in the LTM Indicator IE.

[0212] In another example, the first indicator is a second level IE within the Conditional Inter-CU Mobility Information IE within the message. For example, the structure of the Conditional Inter-CU Mobility Information IE within the message is shown as below.

[0213] In another example, the first indicator is a codepoint of CHO Trigger IE within the Conditional Inter-DU Mobility Information IE within the message. For example, the structure of the Conditional Inter-CU Mobility Information IE within the message is shown as below, and the codepoint is CLTM-initiation in the CHO Trigger IE.

[0214] The message at 801 may further include a second CLTM CSI resource configuration (e.g. configuration #1 or configuration #2) , which defines a group of one or more CSI resources for one or more CLTM candidate configurations. For example, the second CLTM CSI resource configuration includes one or more SSB indexes, and each SSB index is associated with a CLTM index, where the CLTM index is used to identify a CLTM candidate configuration. Each SSB-index indicates a SSB resource.

[0215] The message at 801 may include information (i.e. information #1) to be used by the C-DU (s) to prepare one or more S-CLTM candidate configurations.

[0216] In one example, the information is one or more CLTM candidate cell IDs different from the first candidate cell's ID.

[0217] In another example, the information is the L3 measurement results of one or more neighbour cells.

[0218] At 802, if the C-DU (s) accepts the request for CLTM, it may respond with a UE CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE message or a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION RESPONSE message. For example, the message includes a CLTM candidate configuration for the first candidate cell requested by the CU at 801.

[0219] The message may further include a CLTM configuration for S-CLTM (e.g. S-CLTM configuration, in short) . The S-CLTM configuration includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations for S-CLTM. In addition, each CLTM candidate configuration for S-CLTM is associated with one or more execution conditions (e.g. S-CLTM execution condition, in short) . The S-CLTM execution condition indicates the condition that needs to be fulfilled in order to trigger the execution of a CLTM for S-CLTM. The S-CLTM execution condition includes one or more CSI resources as measurement objects by the UE and a CLTM event as a criteria for triggering of a CLTM, where the one or more CSI resources are within the received second CLTM CSI resource configuration. The CLTM event includes:

[0220] - CondEventLTM2: beam of serving cell becomes worse than absolute threshold.

[0221] - CondEventLTM3: conditional reconfiguration beam of candidate cell becomes amount of offset better than beam of serving cell.

[0222] - CondEventLTM4: conditional reconfiguration beam of candidate cell becomes better than absolute threshold.

[0223] - CondEventLTM5: beam of serving cell becomes worse than absolute threshold1 and conditional reconfiguration beam of candidate cell becomes better than another absolute threshold2.

[0224] At 803, the CU may send a request message (i.e. request #2) , e.g. a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION REQUEST message, to the S-DU. For instance, the message includes a second indicator, indicating that the request message concerns a CLTM.

[0225] In one example, the second indicator is a first level IE within the message. For example, the structure of the message is shown as below:

[0226] In another example, the second indicator is a second level IE within the LTM Information Modify IE within the message. For example, the structure of the LTM Information Modify IE within the message is shown as below.

[0227] In another example, the second indicator is a codepoint of LTM Indicator IE within the LTM Information Modify IE within the message. For example, the structure of the LTM Information Modify IE within the message is shown as below, and the codepoint is CLTM in the LTM Indicator IE.

[0228] In another example, the second indicator is a second level IE within the Conditional Intra-DU Mobility Information IE within the message. For example, the structure of the Conditional Intra-DU Mobility Information IE within the message is shown as below.

[0229] In another example, the second indicator is a codepoint of CHO Trigger IE within the Conditional Intra-CU Mobility Information IE within the message. For example, the structure of the Conditional Inter-CU Mobility Information IE within the message is shown as below, and the codepoint is CLTM-initiation in the CHO Trigger IE.

[0230] The message at 803 may further include a first CLTM CSI resource configuration (e.g. configuration #1 or configuration #2) , which defines a group of one or more CSI resources for one or more CLTM candidate configurations. For example, the first CLTM CSI resource configuration includes one or more SSB-indexes, and each SSB-index is associated with a CLTM index, where the CLTM index is used to identify a CLTM candidate configuration. Each SSB-index indicates a SSB resource.

[0231] In some cases, the first CLTM CSI resource configuration at 803 and the second CLTM CSI resource configuration at 801 are the same. For example, in one case, configuration #1 is transmitted at both 801 and 803. In another case, configuration #2 is transmitted at both 801 and 803.

[0232] At 804, the S-DU may respond with a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION RESPONSE message to the CU.

[0233] The message includes the CLTM execution conditions for one or more CLTM candidate configurations for the initial CLTM. The initial CLTM means a CLTM procedure  by the UE from the S-DU towards the C-DU. Each CLTM candidate configuration is associated with one or more CLTM execution conditions. The CLTM execution condition includes one or more CSI resources (as measurement objects by the UE) and a CLTM event (as a criteria for triggering of a CLTM) , where the one or more CSI resources are within the received first CLTM CSI resource configuration at 803. The detailed descriptions of the CLTM event (e.g. CondEventLTM2, CondEventLTM3 CondEventLTM4 and CondEventLTM5) could be found at 802.

[0234] At 805, the CU may send a DL RRC MESSAGE TRANSFER message to the S-DU, which includes the RRC reconfiguration message generated by the CU.

[0235] The RRC reconfiguration message includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations, where each CLTM candidate configuration is associated with one or more CLTM execution conditions.

[0236] The RRC reconfiguration message may further include one or more S-CLTM configurations. The S-CLTM configuration includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations for S-CLTM. In addition, each CLTM candidate configuration for S-CLTM is associated with one or more S-CLTM execution conditions.

[0237] The RRC reconfiguration message may further include a third indicator, which indicates the UE shall perform CLTM reconfiguration if the selected cell is a target CLTM candidate cell and is the first candidate cell selected after a failure.

[0238] At 806, the S-DU may forward the received RRC reconfiguration message to the UE.

[0239] At 807, the UE may respond to the S-DU with an RRC reconfiguration complete message.

[0240] At 808, the S-DU may forward the received RRC reconfiguration complete message to the CU via an UL RRC MESSAGE TRANSFER message.

[0241] At 809, the UE may start the CLTM evaluation conditions for the CLTM candidate cell (s) .

[0242] At 810, if at least one CLTM candidate cell satisfies the corresponding CLTM execution condition, the UE detaches from the S-DU, applies the stored corresponding CLTM candidate configuration and accesses to that CLTM candidate cell.

[0243] At 811, the C-DU may send an ACCESS SUCCESS message to the CU with the target cell's ID. The message may include a fourth indicator, to inform the CU that the UE has successfully accessed the target cell during CLTM.

[0244] At 812, the UE may send an RRC reconfiguration complete message to the C-DU, where the C-DU is a target DU and becomes an S-DU for S-CLTM. The message includes a fifth indicator, indicating the selected conditional reconfiguration the UE applied upon the execution of CLTM. For example, the fifth indicator is a CLTM index, where the CLTM index is used to identify a CLTM candidate configuration.

[0245] In one example, if the CLTM candidate cell is also configured as an LTM candidate cell and / or a CHO candidate cell, the UE does not autonomously remove the LTM configuration of the candidate cell after the execution of CLTM. In some cases, the UE removes the LTM configuration of the candidate cell after the execution of CLTM after receiving an instruction from the network node. The UE may remove the CHO configuration of the candidate cell.

[0246] In another example, if the CLTM candidate cell is also configured as an LTM candidate cell and / or a CHO candidate cell, and the cell switch is triggered by the LTM or CHO, the UE removes the CLTM configuration of the candidate cell, except for the S-CLTM configuration.

[0247] In another example, if the third indicator is included in the RRC reconfiguration message, and the UE performs a cell selection where the selected cell is one of the CLTM candidate cells, the UE applies the stored CLTM candidate configuration associated with the selected cell.

[0248] In some embodiments, operation 812 may be performed before operation 811.

[0249] At 813, the C-DU forwards the received RRC reconfiguration complete message to the CU via an UL RRC MESSAGE TRANSFER message.

[0250] In some embodiments of Figure 8 (denoted as Embodiment 2) , S-DU generates the CLTM event, C-DU (s) generates the CLTM event for S-CLTM, and CU generates the CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 2 to solve issue 1) and the S-CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 2 to solve issue 2) .

[0251] Embodiment 2

[0252] Operation 801 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 801 in Embodiment 1.

[0253] At 802, if the C-DU accepts the request for CLTM, it may respond with a UE CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE message.

[0254] The message may further include a CLTM configuration for S-CLTM (e.g. S-CLTM configuration, in short) . The S-CLTM configuration includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations for S-CLTM. In addition, each CLTM candidate configuration for S-CLTM is associated with one or more CLTM events, where each CLTM event defines a criteria for triggering of a CLTM. The detailed description of the CLTM event could be found at 802 in Embodiment 1.

[0255] Operation 803 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 803 in Embodiment 1.

[0256] At 804, the S-DU may respond with a UE CONTEXT MODIFICATION RESPONSE message to the CU.

[0257] The message includes the CLTM events for one or more CLTM candidate configurations for the initial CLTM. The initial CLTM means a CLTM procedure by the UE from the S-DU towards the C-DU. Each CLTM candidate configuration is associated with one or more CLTM events, where each CLTM event defines a criteria for triggering of a CLTM. The detailed description of the CLTM event could be found at 802 in Embodiment 1.

[0258] At 805, the CU may send a DL RRC MESSAGE TRANSFER message to the S-DU, which includes the RRC reconfiguration message generated by the CU. The RRC reconfiguration message includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations, where each CLTM candidate configuration is associated with one or more CLTM events.

[0259] The RRC reconfiguration message may further include one or more S-CLTM configurations. The S-CLTM configuration includes one or more CLTM candidate  configurations for S-CLTM. In addition, each CLTM candidate configuration for S-CLTM is associated with one or more CLTM events.

[0260] The RRC reconfiguration message includes the first CLTM CSI resource configuration, which defines a group of one or more CSI resources for one or more CLTM candidate configurations. For example, the first CLTM CSI resource configuration includes one or more SSB-indexes, and each SSB-index is associated with a CLTM index, where the CLTM index is used to identify a CLTM candidate configuration. Each SSB-index indicates a SSB resource.

[0261] The RRC reconfiguration message includes the second CLTM CSI resource configuration, which defines a group of one or more CSI resources for one or more CLTM candidate configurations for S-CLTM. For example, the second CLTM CSI resource configuration includes one or more SSB-indexes, and each SSB-index is associated with a CLTM index, where the CLTM index is used to identify a CLTM candidate configuration. Each SSB-index indicates a SSB resource.

[0262] In some cases, the first CLTM CSI resource configuration and the second CLTM CSI resource configuration are the same. In this case, the RRC reconfiguration message includes only one CLTM CSI resource configuration, i.e., the first CLTM CSI resource configuration or the second CLTM CSI resource configuration.

[0263] The RRC reconfiguration message may further include a third indicator, which indicates the UE shall perform CLTM reconfiguration if selected cell is a target CLTM candidate cell and it is the first candidate cell selection after failure.

[0264] Operation 806 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 806 in Embodiment 1.

[0265] Operation 807 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 807 in Embodiment 1.

[0266] Operation 808 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 808 in Embodiment 1.

[0267] Operation 809 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 809 in Embodiment 1.

[0268] Operation 810 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 810 in Embodiment 1.

[0271] Operation 813 in Embodiment 2 is the same as operation 813 in Embodiment 1.

[0272] In some embodiments of Figure 9 (denoted as Embodiment 3) , CU generates the CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 3 to solve issue 1) and the S-CLTM execution condition (i.e. solution 3 to solve issue 2) .

[0273] Embodiment 3

[0274] At 901, the S-DU may send the L1 measurement results to the CU. For example, the L1 measurement results includes the L1 measurements of beams of neighbor cells and / or a serving cell of the UE. Operation 901 is optional. In some embodiments, operation 901 is not performed.

[0275] At 902, the CU may send a UE CONTEXT SETUP REQUEST message (i.e. request #1) to the C-DU for each CLTM candidate cell, containing a first candidate cell's ID. The message includes a first indicator, indicating that the request concerns a CLTM for the included first candidate cell's ID. The detailed description of the first indicator can be found at 801 in Embodiment 1.

[0276] The message may include information (i.e. information #1) to be used by the C-DU to prepare S-CLTM candidate configuration. In one example, the information is one or more CLTM candidate cell IDs different from the first cell ID. In another example, the information is the L3 measurement results of one or more neighbour cells.

[0277] At 903, if the C-DU accepts the request for CLTM, it may respond with a UE CONTEXT SETUP RESPONSE message. For example, the message includes a CLTM candidate configuration for the first candidate cell requested by the CU at 902.

[0278] The message may further include a CLTM configuration for S-CLTM (e.g. S-CLTM configuration, in short) . The S-CLTM configuration includes one or more CLTM candidate configurations for S-CLTM.

[0279] Operation 904 in Embodiment 3 is the same as operation 805 in Embodiment 1 or Embodiment 2.
