Description

Description Title of the invention: Fixing module constituting a handle equipping an opening [1] The invention relates to the field of handles intended to equip an opening, such as a window, a door or the like. Its subject is a fixing module constituting such a handle. It also relates to a handle comprising such a fixing module. It also relates to a method of assembling such a handle. [2] Document WO 20141 / 31522 describes a handle for operating an opening, such as a window or a door, comprising a fixing module. The fixing module comprises a gripping element which is arranged in a bracket and which comprises a cylindrical barrel intended to house a fixing device. The fixing device comprises an outer sleeve intended to receive an inner sleeve, two frames arranged in a U-shape and each comprising two parallel legs, a helical spring and a ring. The fixing device is intended to house a drive square which is intended to fit inside a channel provided inside the inner sleeve and an opening delimited by the frames arranged opposite each other and abutting each other by means of their legs. The frames are intended to be inserted inside the channel of the inner sleeve. Each frame has on its outer periphery an external lug which is intended to fit inside a respective groove formed through the inner sleeve. Each frame also has on its inner periphery an internal lug intended to come into contact against a surface of the drive square. Such fixing is carried out by force with the frames being placed at an angle relative to the drive square and the frames and lugs being stressed against the inner sleeve or the drive square. [3] The outer sleeve has an outer face which is smooth and has an end provided with notches intended to cooperate with projections provided on an outer surface of the inner sleeve to allow assembly between them of the outer sleeve and the inner sleeve. [4] A first problem lies in the fact that such a handle comprises too many parts which it is desirable to reduce, to minimize manufacturing, storage and referencing costs as well as to minimize time fixing the handle to the opening. [5] A second problem is that the fixing device includes a helical spring whose durability is random, which is best avoided. [6] A third problem is that the frames are held forcibly and at an angle against the drive square and therefore undergo significant radial stresses which affect the durability of the fixing device. [7] A fourth problem lies in the fact that, over time and during the opening and closing operations of the opening, shocks occur between the opening and a frame surrounding it, these shocks producing vibrations which tend to cause the pins placed under stress to come loose, or even break. [8] A fifth problem lies in the fact that such a fixing device does not allow rapid fixing to the opening of a base constituting the handle, such a base having to be attached in particular by screwing onto the opening, which again increases the number of parts required, which also increases the time required to fix the handle to the opening and which generates in use a play between the base and the gripping element which is unpleasant for a user of the handle. [9] A first aim of the present invention is to propose a device for fixing a handle to an opening of a building which is robust, reliable, durable and which comprises a minimum of parts to limit manufacturing and referencing costs.

[0010] A second aim of the present invention is to propose a fixing device which allows rapid fixing of a handle comprising such a fixing device on the opening, regardless of the type of opening.

[0065] A building is commonly equipped with openings, such as a door, a window, a French window or the like, which are either exterior openings arranged between the interior of the building and the exterior of the building, or interior openings arranged between two rooms of the building. Such an opening is equipped with at least one handle 1, different types of which are illustrated in Figure 1, to allow opening or closing of this opening, from an operation of a gripping element 2 constituting the handle 1. The gripping element 2 is the element of the handle 1 which is intended to be grasped and manipulated by a user wishing to operate the opening or closing. The handle 1 is possibly equipped with a closing means to temporarily prevent opening of the opening.

[0066] Manufacturers of handles 1 are faced with the need to develop numerous technical specifications to adapt a handle 1 attachment to the various possible types of openings, which multiplies the manufacturing, referencing and storage costs. A first problem for manufacturers of handles 1 is in particular to design handles 1 made from a minimum of material to meet the requirements of environmentally friendly production and distribution and consuming a minimum of energy. A second problem for manufacturers of handles 1 is to offer a handle 1 which can be quickly fixed on the opening and which is arranged in such a way as to generate no unnecessary play between the constituent parts of the handle 1.

[0067] The present invention aims to solve this difficulty by proposing a fixing module 100, which is suitable for any type of opening and which is composed of a minimum number of elements, four in number. The fixing module 100 which constitutes the handle 1 allows a robust and rapid fixing of the handle 1 on the opening. The fixing module 100 comprises the gripping element 2 illustrated in FIG. 2 and a fixing device 5 comprising a total of three elements. The fixing module 100 allows a securing of the gripping element 2 on the opening and a detachment of the gripping element 2 from the opening. In other words, the fixing device 5 constituting the mo- The fixing element 100 advantageously contributes to the installation and conversely to the removal of the gripping element 2 on the opening.

[0068] For this purpose, the fixing device 5 comprises a fixing sleeve 10 shown in Figure 3, a locking ring 11 shown in Figure 4 and a holding ring 12 shown in Figure 5. It is understood that any type of opening is capable of being equipped with the gripping element 2 for its opening and closing operation from the fixing device 5 which will be described below and which comprises only three parts. Also, this fixing device 5 can be used on a whole range of openings to which corresponds a range of handles 1 which all comprise the same fixing device 5.

[0069] Thus, in Figure 1, there is shown a range of handles 1 intended to equip any opening of a range of openings comprising a door equipped with a handle, a door equipped with two handles, a sliding French window equipped with two handles, a tilt-and-turn window or with a French opening equipped with a handle, a sliding window equipped with a handle, a pivoting, recessed or built-in or sash window, equipped with a handle or the like.

[0070] Thus, to equip a door or a French window with two handles, at least a first square 18 is used, provided on either side of the latter with the fixing module 100 and a door base module 41, possibly supplemented by a rosette or a plate, attached by screw, by gluing or by pressure.

[0071] Thus, to equip a door with a single handle, at least the fixing module 100, the door base module 41 and a first grappling square 111 which includes a second square 75 are used, possibly supplemented by a rosette or a plate, attached by screw, by gluing or by pressure.

[0072] Thus, to equip a window, at least one handle 1 is used comprising the fixing module 100 and a window base module 42 and a second grapple square 112 comprising a third square 79.

[0073] The gripping element 2 is arranged in a generally L-shaped crutch. According to another variant, the gripping element is capable of being arranged in a generally spherical or ovoid button.

[0074] The gripping element 2 comprises a gripping member 3 which extends according to a gripping axis A1 and a gripping barrel 4 which extends along an assembly axis A2 which is substantially orthogonal to the gripping axis A1. The gripping member 3 is the member intended to be grasped by the user, and the gripping barrel 4 participates in the assembly of the gripping element 2 with the fixing device 5 constituting the handle 1.

[0075] Referring also to Figure 2, the gripping barrel 4 is generally cylindrical, or even frustoconical, and with an axis of revolution coinciding with the assembly axis A2. The gripping barrel 4 comprises a barrel cavity 6 which opens onto a barrel end 7 of the gripping barrel 4. The barrel cavity 6 is delimited by a cavity surface S of which a cross-sectional section made in a first plane PI orthogonal to the assembly axis A2 varies along the assembly axis A2. From the gripping member 3 to the barrel end 7, the gripping barrel 4 comprises a first portion 4a in which a first section SI of the cavity surface S in the first plane PI is circular. Then, the gripping barrel 4 comprises a second portion 4b in which a second section S2 of the cavity surface S in the first plane PI is also circular but with a radius greater than the first section SL

[0076] Then, the gripping barrel 4 comprises a third portion 4c in which a fixing section S3 of the cavity surface S in the first plane PI is of an oblong conformation. Inside the third portion 4c, the fixing section S3 has a minimum dimension DI and a maximum dimension D2 strictly greater than the minimum dimension DI. It is understood that an oblong conformation of the fixing section S3 is for example that of a circle crushed at two of its diametrically opposite poles to produce a compression of the part inside. It is also understood that an oblong conformation of the fixing section S3 is for example an oval-shaped section. It is noted that an evolution from the circular character of the second section S2 to an oblong character of the fixing section S3 is a continuous evolution.

[0077] Then, the gripping barrel 4 comprises a fourth portion 4d in which a locking section S4 of the cavity surface S in the first plane PI comprises a first part S4a which is circular and of first radius RI and a second part S4b which adjoins the first part S4a. The second part S4b is semicircular and is comprised between a first arc of a circle of radius RI and a second xth arc of a circle of radius R2 which is greater than the first radius RI. It is understood that along the assembly axis A2, the second part S4b fits into a barrel housing 4x which extends axially inside the locking section S4. In other words, the barrel cavity 6 comprises a barrel housing 4x which is arranged in the fourth portion 4d. In the fourth portion 4d, the gripping barrel 4 is provided with a first barrel groove 8 which opens at the barrel end 7. The first barrel groove 8 is arranged along an axis parallel to the assembly axis A2.

[0078] Then, the gripping barrel 4 comprises a fifth portion 4e in which a holding section S5 of the cavity surface S in the first plane PI is greater than the locking section S4. In the fifth portion 4e, the gripping barrel 4 is provided with the first barrel groove 8 which extends in a direction parallel to the assembly axis A2.

[0079] The barrel end 7 comprises a barrel crown 9 arranged around an axis of symmetry coinciding with the assembly axis A2. The barrel crown 9 borders the barrel cavity 6 which the barrel crown 9 surrounds at the open end 7 of the gripping barrel 4. The barrel crown 9 is provided with barrel grooves 9a which are angularly equidistant on the barrel crown 9 around the assembly axis A2. The barrel grooves 9a are arranged along an axis parallel to the assembly axis A2. The barrel grooves 9a are for example four in number.

[0080] The fixing device 5 is intended to be housed completely inside the barrel cavity 6. The fixing device 5 comprises the fixing sleeve 10 shown in Figure 3 which is intended to fix the gripping element 2 on any one of the squares 18, 75, 79 and on the opening, the locking ring 11 illustrated in Figure 4 which is provided to prevent detachment of the gripping element 2 and the squares 18, 75, 79 on the opening and the retaining ring 12 shown in Figure 5 which has the function of preventing removal of the fixing sleeve 10 and the locking ring 11 from the barrel cavity 6.

[0081] In Figure 3, the fixing sleeve 10 is generally cylindrical with an axis of revolution coinciding with the assembly axis A2. The fixing sleeve 10 delimits a sleeve passage 13 which extends from a first sleeve end 14 to a second sleeve end 15. The first sleeve end 14 and the second sleeve end 15 delimit the fixing sleeve 10 Ion- gitudinally along the assembly axis A2. The fixing sleeve 10 is also delimited by an inner sleeve face 16 and an outer sleeve face 17. The inner sleeve face 16 delimits the sleeve passage 13 which has a square section in a plane orthogonal to the assembly axis A2 which is arranged to house in close contact the squares 18, 75, 79, notably visible in FIG. 1. The inner sleeve face 16 is provided with two inner sleeve grooves 19 which are arranged diametrically opposite with respect to the assembly axis A2. The inner sleeve grooves 19 extend between the first sleeve end 14 and the second sleeve end 15. The inner sleeve grooves 19 extend parallel to the assembly axis A2. The inner face of sleeve 16 is also provided with three sleeve notches 20 which open onto the first end of sleeve 14.Two of the sleeve notches 20 are arranged diametrically opposite relative to the assembly axis A2 and the third sleeve notch 20 is interposed between the two previous ones. The sleeve outer face 17 is provided with two sleeve lugs 21 which are arranged diametrically opposite relative to the assembly axis A2. The sleeve lugs 21 extend parallel to the assembly axis A2. The sleeve lugs 21 extend from the first sleeve end 14 to a first sleeve stop point 22 arranged on the sleeve outer face 17 between the first sleeve end 14 and the second sleeve end 15. The fixing sleeve 10 is provided with two through grooves 23 which extend between the sleeve inner face 16 and the sleeve outer face 17.Each through groove 23 extends from the first sleeve end 14 to a second sleeve stop point 24 provided between the first sleeve end 14 and the second sleeve end 15. The through grooves 23 are provided diametrically opposite relative to the assembly axis A2. The through grooves 23 extend parallel to the assembly axis A2. The through grooves 23 are flared from the second sleeve stop point 24 towards the first sleeve end 14.

[0082] In Figure 4, the locking ring 11 comprises a ring square 25 formed of four ring faces 26 connected two by two by a first edge 27a, a second edge 27b, a third edge 27c and a fourth edge 27d. The ring square is intended to receive in close contact any one of the squares 18, 75, 79. The locking ring 11 also comprises a locking strip 28 which extends from the first edge 27a to a strip end 29. The locking strip 28 comprises a first planar ring wall 30 which extends between the first edge 27a and a first curvilinear ring wall 31 whose first center of curvature C1 is housed inside the ring square 25. The first curvilinear ring wall 31 adjoins a bulge 32 which forms a radial external protrusion with respect to the first curvilinear ring wall 31 and to a second curvilinear ring wall 33 which adjoins the bulge 32. The bulge 32 is a curvilinear wall whose second center of curvature C2 is housed inside the ring square 25. The second curvilinear ring wall 33 is a curvilinear wall whose third center of curvature C3 is housed inside the ring square 25. The second curvilinear ring wall 33 also adjoins a second flat ring wall 34 which adjoins a tab 35 which comprises the end of ribbon 29.The locking ring 11 also comprises a first reinforcement 36a which connects the second edge 27b to the bulge 32, as well as a second reinforcement 36b which connects the second edge 27b to the bulge 32, the first reinforcement 36a and the second reinforcement 36b being substantially orthogonal to each other. The locking ring 11 also comprises a third reinforcement 36c which extends between the third edge 27c and the second curvilinear ring wall 33. The locking ring 11 comprises a fourth reinforcement 36d which extends between the fourth edge 27d and the second curvilinear ring wall 33. Three of the four ring faces 26 are provided with a ring tooth 37 which extends in respective extension of the ring faces 26 and in the same plane as the ring face 26 to which the ring tooth 37 is assigned.

[0083] In Figure 5, the retaining ring 12 is generally arranged around an axis of revolution coinciding with the assembly axis A2. The retaining ring 12 comprises a ring opening 38 which is arranged between two ring ends 39 arranged opposite each other. Each ring end 39 has an end width which is greater than a ring width. Each ring end 39 is provided with a ring orifice 40. The retaining ring 12 delimits in its center a ring passage 12a.

[0084] In Figure 6, the fixing device 5 is shown, comprising the fixing sleeve 10, the locking ring 11 and the holding ring 12 ready to be assembled together and with the gripping element 2.

[0085] The present invention advantageously provides an assembly method which pro- assembling the fixing module 100 by successively inserting the fixing sleeve 10 inside the barrel cavity 6 so that the sleeve lugs 21 are arranged in close contact with the oblong-shaped fixing section S3, then inserting the locking ring 11 inside the barrel cavity 6 so that the bulge 32 is housed inside the barrel housing 4x of the locking section S4, then inserting the retaining ring 12 inside the barrel cavity 6 so that the retaining ring 12 is housed inside the retaining section S5, to obtain the assembled fixing module 100 illustrated in FIG. 7.

[0086] These arrangements are such that the sleeve lugs 21 of the fixing sleeve 10 are intended to come into contact against walls delimiting the fixing section S3 of the barrel cavity 6 and that the oblong nature of the walls delimiting the fixing section S3 allows the fixing sleeve 10 to be immobilized in position inside the barrel cavity 6. It is understood more particularly that during a positive rotation of the gripping element 2 around the assembly axis A2, the fixing sleeve 10 is immobilized on the square 18, 75, 79 and compressed centrifugally and radially, such that the through grooves 23 tend to close. It is also understood that during a negative rotation of the gripping element 2 around the assembly axis A2, the fixing sleeve 10 is decompressed, such that the through grooves 23 tend to open.

[0087] These arrangements are such that the three sleeve notches 20 are intended to receive the three ring teeth 37 of the locking ring 11 to secure the fixing sleeve 10 and the locking ring 11 together. It follows that, during a positive rotation of the gripping element 2 around the assembly axis A2, the ring teeth 37 inserted in the sleeve notches 20 centrifugally and radially compress the locking ring 11 and the square 18, 75, 79 to reinforce its immobilization. It also follows that during a negative rotation of the gripping element 2 around the assembly axis A2, the ring teeth 37 inserted in the sleeve notches 20 decompress the square 18, 75, 79 to make it movable.

[0088] These arrangements are such that the barrel housing 4x of the fourth portion 4d of the gripping element 2 is intended to receive the bulge 32 to allow a rotational guidance of the gripping element 2. It is understood that, during a positive rotation of the gripping element 2 about the assembly axis A2, the bulge 32 is held inside the barrel housing 4x, the barrel housing 4x rotating around the bulge 32 from an unlocking position illustrated on the right in Figure 8 to a locking position illustrated on the left in Figure 8. It is also understood that during a negative rotation of the gripping element 2 about the assembly axis A2, the bulge 32 is held inside the barrel housing 4x, the barrel housing 4x rotating around the bulge 32 from the locking position to the unlocking position.

[0089] These arrangements are such that upon positive rotation of the gripping element 2 about the assembly axis A2, the tongue 35 of the locking ring 11 pivots about the assembly axis A2, such that the tongue 35 penetrates inside the first barrel groove 8 to extend inside the first barrel groove 8 and abut against at least one edge of the first barrel groove 8. It is noted that the tongue 35 is held under pressure inside the barrel cavity 6 until the tongue 35 is inserted inside the first barrel groove 8.It is also understood that when the gripping element 2 is rotated negatively around the assembly axis A2 and when the tab 35 is pressed with an unlocking tool inserted into the first barrel groove 8, the tab 35 of the locking ring 11 pivots around the assembly axis A2, such that the tab 35 is extracted from the first barrel groove 8 and allows the gripping element 2 to make a quarter turn backward and allows decompression of the fixing sleeve 10.

[0090] These arrangements are such that the fifth portion 4e is intended to house the retaining ring 12 to immobilize in translation along the assembly axis A2 the locking ring 11 and the fixing sleeve 10 inside the barrel cavity 6.
