Abstract
Description
Covering materials and buildings
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a cover member and a building.
[0002] A capping board is known as a cover member placed on the top of an outdoor wall (see, for example, Patent Document 1). In Patent Document 1, the capping board is installed on the rising wall of a balcony. The same document also discloses an end cap for the capping board. The end cap is installed on the end face of the capping board that is placed adjacent to the exterior wall of a building.
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2022-50808
[0004] The rising wall of a balcony may be configured to connect to the exterior wall of the building itself. In this case, the end of the capping is connected to the exterior wall via a sealant. If an end cap is provided at the end of the capping, a sealant is filled between the end cap and the exterior wall. When the capping is connected to the exterior wall in this manner, rainwater flows from the capping toward the exterior wall. As a result, rainwater collects at the intersection of the outer end of the capping and the exterior wall, which can lead to the formation of raindrop stains at the intersection. This is not limited to cappings, but also occurs in canopies extending from the exterior wall of the building itself. Specifically, the edge members provided at the edge of the canopy are connected to the exterior wall. As a result, raindrop stains can form at the intersection of the outer end of the canopy and the exterior wall. For these reasons, there is room for improvement in cover members such as cappings or canopy edge members, and in buildings.
[0005] (1) A cover member according to one aspect of the present disclosure is configured to be provided on the upper part of a rising wall or the edge of a canopy, and comprises a cover body and a flange provided on the end of the cover body, and in the width direction of the cover member, the outer end of the flange is located inward from the outer end of the cover body.
[0006] According to this configuration, the outer end of the flange is located inward of the outer end of the cover body. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body and the outer wall from concentrating at the outer end of the flange. This prevents rainwater staining near the outer end of the flange. In other words, it prevents rainwater staining at the intersection of the outer wall and the cover member.
[0007] (2) In the cover member of (1) above, the cover main body has a cover upper surface portion having the outer end, a first cover lower surface portion folding back from the outer end of the cover upper surface portion and extending inward, a cover hanging portion extending downward from the inner end of the first cover lower surface portion, and a cover inner portion extending downward from the inner end of the cover upper surface portion, and the flange has a first flange portion provided on the end surface of the cover upper surface portion, a second flange portion extending downward from the first flange portion and provided on the end surface of the cover hanging portion, and a third flange portion extending downward from the first flange portion and provided on the end surface of the cover inner portion, and the outer end of the second flange portion is configured as the outer end of the flange and is located inward from the outer end of the cover upper surface portion which is the outer end of the cover main body.
[0008] With this configuration, the outer edge of the second flange is located inward from the outer edge of the cover upper surface, which prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body and the outer wall from concentrating on the outer edge of the second flange, thereby preventing rainwater from dripping onto the outer edge of the flange.
[0009] (3) In the cover member of (2) above, the first flange portion has an upper flange portion that extends above the upper surface of the cover top portion and a lower flange portion that extends below the upper surface of the cover top portion. This configuration allows the area of the first flange portion to be increased, thereby allowing for a larger amount of sealant to be filled between the cover member and the outer wall.
[0010] (4) In the cover member of (2) or (3) above, the second flange portion has an outer flange portion that extends outward from the outer surface of the hanging cover portion and an inner flange portion that extends inward from the outer surface of the hanging cover portion. This configuration allows the area of the second flange portion to be increased, thereby allowing for a larger amount of sealant to be filled between the cover member and the outer wall.
[0011] (5) A building according to one aspect of the present disclosure is a building comprising a building body, a rising wall provided on the building body, and a cover provided on the upper part of the rising wall, wherein the cover member connected to the outer wall of the building body is composed of any one of the cover members (1) to (4) above.
[0012] According to this configuration, in the cover member arranged to connect to the exterior wall of a building, the outer end of the flange is located inward from the outer end of the cover body. This prevents rainwater flowing on the cover body and the exterior wall from concentrating on the outer end of the flange. This prevents rainwater staining near the outer end of the flange. In other words, it prevents rainwater staining at the intersection of the exterior wall and the cover member.
[0013] (6) In the building described in (5) above, a sealant is filled between the exterior wall and the flange of the cover member of the rising wall, and a gap not filled with the sealant is provided between the exterior wall and the outer end of the end face of the cover body where the flange is not provided.
[0014] According to this configuration, in the cover member that is placed so as to connect to the exterior wall of a building, a gap that is not filled with sealant is provided between the exterior wall and the outer end of the cover body. This prevents rainwater flowing into the cover body and the exterior wall from concentrating on the outer end of the flange. This prevents rainwater from dripping near the outer end of the flange.
[0015] (7) A building according to one aspect of the present disclosure is a building comprising a building body, a canopy body portion provided on the building body, and a cover provided on the edge of the canopy body portion, wherein the cover member connected to the exterior wall of the cover is composed of any one of the cover members (1) to (4) above.
[0016] According to this configuration, in the canopy cover member that is arranged to connect to the exterior wall of a building, the outer end of the flange is located inward from the outer end of the cover body. This prevents rainwater flowing on the cover body and the exterior wall from concentrating at the outer end of the flange. This prevents rainwater staining near the flange. In other words, it prevents rainwater staining at the intersection of the exterior wall and the cover member.
[0017] (8) In the building described in (7) above, a sealant is filled between the exterior wall and the flange of the cover member of the canopy, and a gap not filled with the sealant is provided between the exterior wall and the outer end of the end face of the cover body where the flange is not provided.
[0018] According to this configuration, in the canopy cover member that is placed so as to connect to the exterior wall of a building, a gap that is not filled with sealant is provided between the exterior wall and the outer end of the cover body. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body and the exterior wall from concentrating on the outer end of the flange. This prevents rainwater from dripping onto the flange.
[0019] The cover member and building of the present disclosure can suppress rain stains.

[0021] 1 to 9, a building 1 and a cover member 21 of this embodiment will be described. The building 1 includes a building main body 2, a rising wall 3 provided on the building main body 2, and a cover 20 provided on the upper part of the rising wall 3. Examples of the rising wall 3 include a parapet 3A provided on a rooftop and a balcony wall.
[0022] As shown in Figure 7, the rising wall 3 includes a frame 5, an exterior wall panel 6 fixed to the outer surface of the frame 5, an inner panel 7 fixed to the inner surface of the frame 5, and an upper cover member 8 that covers the upper surface of the rising wall 3.
[0023] As shown in FIG. 1 , in this embodiment, the building body 2 includes a one-story single-story section 10 and a two-story two-story section 11. The single-story section 10 includes a flat roof 10A. As shown in FIG. 2 , a parapet 3A serving as a rising wall 3 is provided on the roof of the single-story section 10. The end of the parapet 3A is connected to the exterior wall 4 of the building body 2. A cover 20 is disposed on top of the parapet 3A. The cover 20 is also called a coping. The cover 20 prevents rain from entering the parapet 3A.
[0024] In the following description of the cover 20 and the cover member 21 (see below), the inner side DA, outer side DB, and mounting state are defined as follows: In a plan view, the rising wall 3 divides the space into an inner area SA and an outer area SB (see FIG. 2). If the rising wall 3 is a parapet 3A, the inner area SA indicates the rooftop area. If the rising wall 3 is a balcony wall, the inner area SA indicates the space inside the balcony.
[0025] The "inward DA" is defined as the direction from the outer region SB toward the inner region SA in the width direction DX of the rising wall 3 in a plan view. The "outward DB" is defined as the direction from the inner region SA toward the outer region SB in the width direction DX of the rising wall 3.
[0026] The attached state indicates the attached state of the cover member 21 when the cover member 21 is attached to the rising wall 3. [Cover] The cover 20 comprises a plurality of cover members 21. The plurality of cover members 21 are arranged along the upper surface of the rising wall 3. The cover members 21 are connected by connecting members (not shown). Of the plurality of cover members 21, the cover member 21 connected to the exterior wall 4 of the building main body 2 has a flange 30. Hereinafter, the cover member 21 connected to the exterior wall 4 of the building main body 2 will be simply referred to as the "cover member 21".
[0027] [Cover Member] The cover member 21 is provided on the upper part of the rising wall 3. The cover member 21 is provided on the rising wall 3 at a portion that connects to the outer wall 4 of the building main body 2.
[0028] 3 , the cover member 21 includes a cover main body 22 and a flange 30 provided at an end of the cover main body 22. In the width direction DX of the cover member 21, an outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from an outer end 22A of the cover main body 22.
[0029] 3 and 7 , the cover body 22 has a cover upper surface portion 23, a first cover lower surface portion 24, a cover hanging portion 25, and a cover inner surface portion 27. The cover member 21 may further have a second cover lower surface portion 26 and a third cover lower surface portion 28.
[0030] The cover main body 22 is made of metal or resin. In one example, the cover member 21 is formed by extrusion or pultrusion molding of aluminum. The cover top surface portion 23 has a first cover top surface portion 23A extending inward DA and a second cover top surface portion 23B sloping downward from the outer end of the first cover top surface portion 23A toward the outer side DB. The cover top surface portion 23 has an outer end 22A of the cover main body 22. The outer end 22A is the outer end 23C of the cover top surface portion 23.
[0031] The first cover lower surface portion 24 folds back and extends inward DA from the outer end 23C of the cover upper surface portion 23. The first cover lower surface portion 24 extends horizontally when the cover member 21 is attached. The cover hanging portion 25 extends downward from the inner end of the first cover lower surface portion 24. When the cover member 21 is attached, the cover hanging portion 25 is disposed outside the rising wall 3 and extends along the rising wall 3.
[0032] The second cover undersurface portion 26 extends inward DA from the lower portion of the cover hanging portion 25. When the cover member 21 is attached, the second cover undersurface portion 26 is disposed outside the upright wall 3 and extends horizontally.
[0033] 6 , the second cover underside 26 does not contact the rising wall 3. A ventilation gap SY is provided between the inner end of the second cover underside 26 and the rising wall 3. The second cover underside 26 prevents rainwater caused by wind blowing up from below from entering the rising wall 3.
[0034] The cover inner portion 27 extends downward from the inner end of the cover upper surface portion 23. Here, the inner end of the cover upper surface portion 23 means the end of the cover upper surface portion 23 in the inner direction DA. When the cover member 21 is attached, the cover inner portion 27 is disposed inside the rising wall 3 and extends along the rising wall 3. Here, the inside means the area where the rising wall 3 connects to the inner area SA.
[0035] The third cover underside portion 28 extends outward DB from the lower portion of the cover inner portion 27. When the cover member 21 is attached, the third cover underside portion 28 is disposed inside the rising wall 3 and extends horizontally. The third cover underside portion 28 prevents rainwater caused by wind blowing up from below from entering the rising wall 3.
[0036] [Flange] The flange 30 is made of resin or metal. In one example, the flange 30 is made of resin. The flange 30 is attached to the cover body 22 by adhesive, welding, or by an engaging protrusion provided on the flange 30.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 7 , the flange 30 has a first flange portion 31, a second flange portion 32, and a third flange portion 33. The first flange portion 31 is provided on the end surface of the cover top surface portion 23. The first flange portion 31 has an upper flange portion 31A and a lower flange portion 31B. The upper flange portion 31A extends above the upper surface 23S of the cover top surface portion 23 in a side view. The upper end of the upper flange portion 31A extends parallel to the upper surface 23S of the cover top surface portion 23. The lower flange portion 31B extends below the upper surface 23S of the cover top surface portion 23 in a side view. The lower end of the lower flange portion 31B extends parallel to the upper surface of the rising wall 3 when the cover member 21 is attached.
[0038] The second flange portion 32 extends downward from the first flange portion 31. A portion of the second flange portion 32 is provided on the end surface of the cover hanging portion 25. The second flange portion 32 extends downward so as to intersect with the second cover upper surface portion 23B in a side view.
[0039] The second flange portion 32 has an outer flange portion 32A and an inner flange portion 32B. In a side view, the outer flange portion 32A extends outward DB from the outer surface 25S of the cover hanging portion 25. In a side view, the inner flange portion 32B extends inward DA from the outer surface 25S of the cover hanging portion 25.
[0040] The outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32 is configured as the outer end 30A of the flange 30. The outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32 is located inward DA from the outer end 23C of the cover upper surface portion 23, which serves as the outer end 22A of the cover main body 22. The outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32 extends in the vertical direction when the cover member 21 is attached.
[0041] The third flange portion 33 extends downward from the inner portion of the first flange portion 31. The third flange portion 33 is provided on the end surface of the cover inner portion 27. In side view, the third flange portion 33 extends outward DB beyond the outer surface 27S of the cover inner portion 27. In other words, the third flange portion 33 extends from the outer surface 27S of the cover inner portion 27 toward the rising wall 3.
[0042] 3 , a blocking member 35 is provided at the outer end 29 of the cover body 22, where the flange 30 is not provided on the end face of the cover body 22. The blocking member 35 is made of a resin plate or a sealing material 37. The blocking member 35 prevents rainwater from entering the cover body 22 from the outer end 29, where the flange 30 is not provided on the end face of the cover body 22.
[0043] 4 and 5, the connection portion between the outer wall 4 and the cover member 21 will be described. As shown in Fig. 4 and 5, a sealant 37 is filled between the outer wall 4 and the flange 30 of the cover member 21 of the rising wall 3. A gap SX that is not filled with the sealant 37 is provided between the outer wall 4 and the outer end portion 29 on the end face of the cover body 22 where the flange 30 is not provided.
[0044] 5, in this embodiment, the sealant 37 is filled in the gap SR between the outer surface of the exterior wall panel 6 and the flange 30. Furthermore, the sealant 37 is filled in a portion 6B of the groove 6A between two adjacent exterior wall panels 6, the portion 6B being connected to the gap SR. The sealant 37 is filled in the portion 6B in advance. Thereafter, after the cover member 21 is attached, the sealant 37 is filled in the gap SR between the outer surface of the exterior wall panel 6 and the flange 30.
[0045] The sealing material 37 is filled into the gap SR1 between the first flange portion 31 and the outer wall 4, the gap SR2 between the second flange portion 32 and the outer wall 4, and the gap SR3 between the third flange portion 33 and the outer wall 4.
[0046] [Operation of this embodiment] The operation of the cover member 21 of this embodiment will be explained in comparison with the reference example. In the reference example, in a plan view, the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is at the same position in the width direction DX as the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. In this case, rainwater flows as follows. Rainwater flowing on the outer wall 4 and rainwater flowing near the flange 30 in the cover member 21 merge at the outer end 30A of the flange 30. When rainwater concentrates at the outer end 30A of the flange 30, the amount of raindrops at the outer end 30A of the flange 30 increases. When these events occur together, raindrop stains near the outer end 30A of the flange 30 gradually increase.
[0047] Fig. 8 is a top view of the cover member 21 when rain is falling on it. Fig. 9 is a front view of the cover member 21 when rain is falling on it. The front view means a view of the cover member 21 when viewed from the inside DA.
[0048] 8 and 9 , in the cover member 21 of this embodiment, in a plan view, the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. The sealant 37 is filled between the flange 30 and the outer wall 4. Therefore, the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. Therefore, the above-mentioned concentration of rainwater near the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 or the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is less likely to occur.
[0049] Specifically, rainwater flowing near the flange 30 on the exterior wall 4 flows along the sealant 37. As a result, the rainwater flowing on the exterior wall 4 flows downward from a position DA inward from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. In contrast, some of the rainwater flowing near the flange 30 on the cover member 21 flows to the outer end 30A of the flange 30, while another portion of the rainwater falls downward from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22 of the cover member 21. In this way, the rainwater on the exterior wall 4 and the rainwater on the cover member 21 are prevented from merging at the outer end 30A of the flange 30. In other words, rainwater is prevented from concentrating at the outer end 30A of the flange 30. Accordingly, rainwater is also prevented from concentrating at the intersection of the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
[0050] In this way, according to this embodiment, it is possible to prevent an increase in rainwater stains near the outer end of the flange 30 compared to when the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located at the same position in the width direction DX as the outer end 22A of the cover body 22 of the cover member 21. In addition, it is possible to prevent rainwater stains at the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
[0051] Although rainwater staining near the outer end of the flange 30 may lead to rainwater staining at the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4, for the same reason as above, the amount of rainwater flowing along this path is reduced, so rainwater staining is suppressed even in such cases. Here, the path refers to the path from near the outer end of the flange 30 to the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
[0052] [Advantages of this embodiment] The advantages of this embodiment will be described below. (1) The cover member 21 includes a cover main body 22 and a flange 30 provided at an end of the cover main body 22. In the width direction DX of the cover member 21, the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover main body 22.
[0053] According to this configuration, the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body 22 and the outer wall 4 from concentrating at the outer end 30A of the flange 30. This prevents rainwater staining near the outer end 30A of the flange 30. In other words, rainwater staining at the intersection of the outer wall 4 and the cover member 21 can be prevented.
[0054] (2) In the flange 30 , the outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32 is configured as the outer end 30A of the flange 30 and is located inward DA from the outer end 23C of the cover upper surface portion 23 as the outer end 22A of the cover main body 22 .
[0055] According to this configuration, the outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32 is located inward DA from the outer end 23C of the cover upper surface portion 23. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body 22 and the outer wall 4 from concentrating at the outer end 32C of the second flange portion 32. This prevents rainwater from dripping onto the flange 30 near the outer end 30A.
[0056] (3) The first flange portion 31 has an upper flange portion 31A that extends above the upper surface 23S of the cover upper surface portion 23, and a lower flange portion 31B that extends below the upper surface 23S of the cover upper surface portion 23. This configuration allows the area of the first flange portion 31 to be increased. This allows the amount of sealant 37 filled between the cover member 21 and the outer wall 4 to be increased. This allows the first flange portion 31 to be firmly bonded to the outer wall 4.
[0057] (4) The second flange portion 32 has an outer flange portion 32A that extends outward DB from the outer surface 25S of the cover hanging portion 25, and an inner flange portion 32B that extends inward DA from the outer surface 25S of the cover hanging portion 25. This configuration allows the area of the second flange portion 32 to be increased. This allows the amount of sealant 37 filled between the cover member 21 and the outer wall 4 to be increased. This allows the second flange portion 32 to be firmly bonded to the outer wall 4.
[0058] (5) The building 1 includes a building body 2, a rising wall 3 provided on the building body 2, and a cover 20 provided on the upper part of the rising wall 3. The cover member 21 of the cover 20 connected to the outer wall 4 of the building body 2 is composed of the above-mentioned cover member 21.
[0059] According to this configuration, in the cover member 21 arranged to connect to the exterior wall 4 of the building 1, the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body 22 and onto the exterior wall 4 from concentrating at the outer end 30A of the flange 30. This prevents rainwater staining near the outer end 30A of the flange 30. This also prevents rainwater staining at the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
[0060] Furthermore, this configuration has the following visual effect of making the building 1 look beautiful. The outer end 30A of the flange 30 is located inward DA from the outer end 22A of the cover body 22. Therefore, when looking up at the rising wall 3 having the cover 20, all or part of the outer end 30A of the flange 30 is hidden behind the outer end 22A of the cover body 22, making the flange 30 difficult to see. In this way, when looking up at the building 1, the connection portion between the exterior wall 4 and the cover member 21 can be made to look beautiful.
[0061] (6) In the building 1, a sealant 37 is filled between the exterior wall 4 and the flange 30 of the cover member 21 of the rising wall 3. A gap SX, which is not filled with the sealant 37, is provided between the exterior wall 4 and the outer end 29 on the end face of the cover body 22 where the flange 30 is not provided.
[0062] According to this configuration, in the cover member 21 arranged to connect to the exterior wall 4 of the building 1, a gap SX that is not filled with the sealant 37 is provided between the exterior wall 4 and the outer end 29 of the cover body 22. This prevents rainwater flowing into the cover body 22 and the exterior wall 4 from concentrating on the outer end 30A of the flange 30. This makes it possible to prevent rainwater staining near the outer end 30A of the flange 30. As a result, it is possible to prevent rainwater staining at the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
[0063] <Modifications> The above embodiment is an example of the configuration that the building 1 and the cover member 21 can take, and is not intended to limit the configuration. The building 1 and the cover member 21 can take a configuration different from the configuration exemplified in the above embodiment. Examples of such configurations include a configuration in which part of the configuration of the embodiment is replaced, modified, or omitted, or a configuration in which a new configuration is added to the embodiment. Modifications of the embodiment are shown below.
[0064] The technology disclosed in the embodiment can be applied not only to the cover 20 that covers the upper part of the rising wall 3 but also to other covers 20. The technology disclosed in the embodiment can be applied to members connected to the exterior wall 4. Below, an example different from the present embodiment will be described.
[0065] 10 , the building 1 includes a building main body 2 and a canopy 15. The canopy 15 includes a canopy main body 16 provided on the building main body 2 and a cover 40 provided on the edge of the canopy main body 16. [0066] In the cover 40, the cover member 41 connected to the outer wall 4 has a structure similar to that of the cover member 21 shown in the above embodiment. The cover member 41 includes a cover main body 42 and a flange 50, similar to the embodiment.
[0067] 11 , the cover main body 42 has a cover upper surface portion 43, a first cover lower surface portion 44, a cover hanging portion 45, a second cover lower surface portion 46, and a cover inner portion 47. The cover upper surface portion 43 has a first cover upper surface portion 43A extending inwardly DA and a second cover upper surface portion 43B sloping downwardly from the outer end of the first cover upper surface portion 43A toward the outward direction DB.
[0068] 12 , the flange 50, like the embodiment, has a first flange portion 51, a second flange portion 52, and a third flange portion 53. The outer end 52C of the second flange portion 52 is configured as the outer end 50A of the flange 50 and is located inward DA from the outer end 43C of the cover upper surface portion 43, which serves as the outer end 42A of the cover main body 42. A blocking member 55 is provided at the outer end portion 49 of the cover main body 42, where the flange 50 is not provided, on the end face of the cover main body 42.
[0069] This configuration prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body 42 and onto the exterior wall 4 from concentrating on the outer end 50A of the flange 50 in the canopy 15. This prevents rainwater staining near the flange 50. In other words, it prevents rainwater staining at the intersection of the exterior wall 4 and the cover member 41.
[0070] Next, the building 1 will be described. In the building 1, a sealant 37 is filled between the exterior wall 4 and the flange 50 of the cover member 41 of the canopy 15. A gap SX, which is not filled with the sealant 37, is provided between the exterior wall 4 and the outer end 49 of the end face of the cover main body 42 where the flange 50 is not provided. This relationship between the exterior wall 4, the outer end 49 of the cover main body 42, and the sealant 37 is substantially the same as the relationship between the exterior wall 4, the outer end 29 of the cover main body 22, and the sealant 37 in the embodiment (see FIG. 8 ).
[0071] According to this configuration, in the cover member 41 of the canopy 15 arranged to connect to the exterior wall 4 of the building 1, a gap SX that is not filled with the sealant 37 is provided between the exterior wall 4 and the outer end 49 of the cover body 42. This prevents rainwater flowing onto the cover body 42 and onto the exterior wall 4 from concentrating on the outer end 50A of the flange 50. This makes it possible to prevent rainwater staining near the outer end 50A of the flange 50. This also makes it possible to prevent rainwater staining at the intersection between the outer end 37A of the sealant 37 and the exterior wall 4.
