Abstract
Description
[0001] SELF-CONTAINED, FORGER-PROOF SEAL WITH MULTIPLE LEVELS OF CRYPTO-FIDUCIARY SECURITY FOR DOCUMENT SECURITY
[0002] I. INTRODUCTION
[0003] The present invention relates to a standalone, tamper-proof seal with multiple levels of crypto-fiduciary security for securing documents. It is, in fact, a manual wooden stamping device, without inkwell, without ink pad and without ink cartridge, combining multiple levels of cryptographic, fiduciary and biometric security, to authenticate documents.
[0004] There are six security levels. Due to their complexity, they make the documents on which the stamp is affixed unforgeable.
[0005] Indeed, the issue of document authentication, of whatever nature (administrative, financial, judicial, commercial, etc.), is a major and constantly recurring concern. This concern is gaining more ground at a time when it is increasingly easy, thanks to computer applications, to modify a text or the stamp that accompanies it.
[0006] Not a week goes by without complaints being filed here and there, most often concerning the imitation or falsification of the stamping of administrative or judicial documents, with serious legal consequences. Moreover, a close relative suffered long years of detention, including his family, because of a falsified document.
[0007] However, traditionally and to this day, document authentication is done with a single-color manual wooden stamp or a personalized or non-personalized rubber stamp, and with an inkwell. Single-color stamps have security limitations, as the print can easily be scanned and reproduced.
[0008] Additionally, these stamps, whether made with wood or rubber, may exhibit variations in stamping quality depending on the pressure applied or the amount of ink applied, which may result in illegible or inconsistent stampings.
[0009] All these limitations in document authentication and security have led us to think about how to solve this problem once and for all.
[0010] STATE OF THE ART
[0011] Some stamps on the market are pre-inked, meaning they don't require an external ink pad. They're easy to use and provide a crisp, consistent print. However, some pre-inked stamps can be duplicated by creating copies of their stampings simply by scanning or taking a photo, which can pose document authenticity issues. It can be difficult to track the use of pre-inked stamps because they don't require frequent ink refills. This can make it difficult to manage authorized users and detect misuse.
[0012] Another method of stamping is digital stamps, which are more advanced electronic devices that allow specific text, designs, or barcodes to be printed on documents. They can be easier to forge electronically than physical stamps.
[0013] Hackers can, in fact, create fraudulent digital stamps using image editing or digital stamp creation software. Additionally, digital stamps often store data about the stamps made. It's important to ensure the security of this data to prevent unauthorized access to this sensitive information.
[0014] Although digital stamps can stamp electronic documents, it can be difficult to prove the authenticity of these digital documents because they can be altered or forged more easily than physical documents.
[0015] There are also embossed stamps and dry stamps, which are used to create a raised impression without using ink. However, this feature can be relatively easy to reproduce using molding or relief printing techniques, allowing counterfeiters to create fake dry stamps.
[0016] Additionally, embossed stamps or blind seals can wear out over time. This can affect the quality of the stamping and make them less reliable for authenticating the same documents in the long run. While embossed stamps can add a touch of authenticity to documents, they typically lack complex visual features or built-in security features, making them less effective and more vulnerable to tampering.
[0017] Some special inks are used for stamping security documents. They may contain elements such as pigments that are invisible to the naked eye under normal light but visible under ultraviolet light. Security inks can be forged by experienced counterfeiters. Some counterfeiters may be able to reproduce the specific characteristics of the security ink, which can also compromise the effectiveness of this security measure.
[0018] Although less common these days, wax seals are used to seal envelopes and official documents. They often feature a distinctive seal or design. Wax seals can be reproduced by creating molds from an original wax seal, making it easy to create counterfeit wax seals.
[0019] Wax seals can wear over time, which can affect the appearance and legibility of the seal, making it difficult to verify its authenticity.
[0020] Security stickers typically feature holographic patterns, microtext, or other security features. They can be affixed to documents. In some cases, security stickers can be removed from a genuine product or document and applied to a counterfeit product or document, potentially leading to fraudulent use. Security stickers can be counterfeited by determined individuals or groups. Counterfeiters may create similar-looking stickers to deceive end users.
[0021] Digital seals are used for electronically signing documents. They provide electronic authentication. Digital seals are stored electronically, making them potentially vulnerable to cyberattacks. If one of them manages to compromise the digital signature key or security infrastructure, this could jeopardize the security of the digital seal.
[0022] QR codes can be printed on documents to make it easier to verify their authenticity using a QR code reader. It is possible to create fake QR codes that look like legitimate QR codes. Users can be tricked into scanning fake QR codes, which can lead to security issues.
[0023] As can be seen, all the technical means of securing documents by means of stamping that exist on the market today have limitations and inadequacies and are therefore not immune to imitations and counterfeiting. These are the limitations and inadequacies that the present invention, called "Autonomous, unfalsifiable seal with several levels of crypto-fiduciary security for securing documents", is intended to correct.
[0024] III. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0025] The articulation of this memorandum includes a summary description of the invention and a detailed description.
[0026] III.1. Brief description of the invention
[0027] The standalone, tamper-proof seal with multiple levels of crypto-fiduciary security for securing documents, the subject of the present invention, makes it possible to overcome these drawbacks related to the counterfeiting of document stamping. The stamp of the aforementioned seal incorporates up to 6 cryptographic, fiduciary and biometric security elements, which make any attempt at falsification impossible.
[0028] Indeed, the combination of the six security elements of the seal strengthens the authenticity of the stamp due to their distinct characteristics. And the vulnerability of one element is compensated by the characteristics of other constituent elements of the seal. In short, the standalone, tamper-proof seal with multiple levels of crypto-fiduciary security for securing documents mainly includes, but is not limited to: A handle or chassis of the seal A visible multi-color stamp with variable optics Ultraviolet A fingerprint invisible to the naked eye A stamp order certificate encrypted and invisible to the naked eye A QR code invisible to the naked eye A complex multi-color pattern invisible to the naked eye A 15-character alphanumeric code, encrypted and invisible to the naked eye
[0029] III.1. Detailed description of the invention

[0033] 3. A fingerprint invisible to the naked eye that can only be seen under the light of an Ultraviolet (UV) ray reader. 4. A tamper-proof stamp order certificate, embedded in a unique encrypted alphanumeric identifier code invisible to the naked eye and that can only be seen and read under the light of an Ultraviolet ray reader; said stamp order certificate contains digital data and a second secure document containing the biometric data all encrypted in a code, which can be read in a web reader, a smartphone, a tablet or a PC.
[0034] 5. A QR code invisible to the naked eye that can only be seen under the light of an Ultraviolet (UV) ray reader and containing the unique information of each stamp holder.
[0035] 6- A complex multi-color pattern invisible to the naked eye whose graphic complexity prevents any reproduction of the document via photocopy, photo or scanner and which can only be visible under the light of an Ultraviolet (UV) ray reader;
[0036] 7. A 15-character encrypted alphanumeric code invisible to the naked eye that can only be seen under the light of an Ultraviolet (UV) ray reader and whose encoding serves as a path to a stamp order certificate.
