[0014] Embodiments of the present disclosure will be described with reference to the drawings.

[0015] (Health Management System 1) A health management system 1 including a health management device 10 or 20 according to any one of embodiments 1 and 2 described below will be described with reference to Fig. 1. Fig. 1 is a diagram schematically illustrating an example of the health management system 1.

[0016] As shown in Figure 1, the health management system 1 includes a health management device 10 (20) and a user terminal 100. Here, "health management device 10 (20)" refers to either the health management device 10 or 20 in embodiments 1 and 2 described below. Note that the user terminal 100 may execute some or all of the functions of the health management devices 10 and 20 described below in place of the health management devices 10 and 20.

[0017] As shown in Figure 1, the health management device 10 (20) and the user terminal 100 can communicate via any communication network. The health management device 10 (20) can also access an inventory management system via any communication network.

[0018] An inventory management system is a system for managing the operations of one or more stores. The inventory management system manages information about each store. The information about each store includes a list of products handled by each store as well as inventory information for all products handled by each store. The inventory information includes at least one of the product inventory quantity and expiration date. In addition, the list of products handled by each store is linked to information indicating the calorie content of each product.

[0019] The health management device 10 (20) acquires information about one or more stores from the inventory management system. The information acquired by the health management device 10 (20) from the inventory management system includes inventory information about all products handled by each store.

[0020] The user terminal 100 is a communication device (e.g., a smartphone or a tablet terminal) carried by the user. The user terminal 100 transmits information indicating the user's physical activity amount and location information of the user terminal 100 indicating the user's current location to the health management device 10 (20). For example, the physical activity amount may be the number of steps, walking distance, walking time, exercise-related calories burned (meaning calories burned through exercise), amount of oxygen consumed, or MET value in a day, a week, or other predetermined period.

[0021] The health management device 10 (20) determines a target store from one or more stores managed by the inventory management system based on information indicating the user's physical activity level received from the user terminal 100. The target store does not have to be just one, but may be two or more (FIGS. 7 and 9).

[0022] Next, the health management device 10 (20) calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store. The health management device 10 (20) selects products to suggest to the user from all products sold at the target store based on the calculated calories consumed by the user. At this time, the health management device 10 (20) references inventory information for all products sold at the target store. The health management device 10 (20) may select products to suggest to the user that have a large inventory at the target store compared to other stores or that are soon to be discarded.

[0023] The health management device 10 (20) then outputs information about the selected product to the user terminal 100. Specific examples of the information that the health management device 10 (20) outputs to the user terminal 100 will be described later in embodiment 3 (FIGS. 6, 7, 8, and 9).

[0024] First Embodiment A first embodiment of the present disclosure will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3. FIG.

[0025] (Configuration of health management device 10) The configuration of health management device 10 according to one embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 2. Fig. 2 is a block diagram showing the configuration of health management device 10 according to one embodiment. As shown in Fig. 2, health management device 10 includes a determination unit 11, a calculation unit 12, a selection unit 13, and an output unit 14.

[0026] The determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the amount of physical activity of the user. The determination unit 11 is an example of a determination means.

[0027] For example, the determination unit 11 acquires information about a product desired by the user (e.g., product name, product ID, product genre) from the user terminal 100 (FIG. 1). The determination unit 11 refers to a list of products handled by each store managed by the inventory management system (FIG. 1), and determines one or more stores that handle the product desired by the user as target stores.

[0028] In another example, the determination unit 11 determines the target store so that the user will achieve a target physical activity amount when the user travels to the target store. Here, the target physical activity amount refers to the cumulative amount of physical activity (e.g., number of steps, calories burned through exercise) that the user should achieve within a predetermined period (e.g., one day, one week). The target physical activity amount may be determined by the user, or may be determined by the determination unit 11 taking into consideration the user's age, gender, weight, etc. Furthermore, the determination unit 11 may determine the target store so that the user will achieve a target calorie consumption amount. The target calorie consumption refers to the total amount of calories that the user should consume within a predetermined period.

[0029] The determination unit 11 outputs information indicating the determined target store to the calculation unit 12.

[0030] The calculation unit 12 calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store. The calculation unit 12 is an example of a calculation means.

[0031] For example, the calculation unit 12 receives information indicating the target store from the determination unit 11. Furthermore, the calculation unit 12 acquires route information indicating a route from the user's current location to the target store from a map application or a navigation application (not shown) installed in the user terminal 100 ( FIG. 1 ). However, the calculation unit 12 may acquire route information by other methods.

[0032] The calculation unit 12 calculates the calorie expenditure of the user when the user travels to the target store based on the acquired route information. For example, the calculation unit 12 calculates the calorie expenditure of the user when the user walks a route from the user's current location to the target store using a predetermined calculation formula. Alternatively, the calculation unit 12 may calculate the calorie expenditure of the user based on route information that includes intermediate stops (e.g., a bookstore, a post office, or a bank) other than the target store. The calculation unit 12 may calculate the calorie expenditure of the user by taking into account at least one of the user's weight, the user's speed, and the user's acceleration. Alternatively, the calculation unit 12 may calculate the calorie expenditure of the user when the user travels a route from the user's current location to the target store by a specific means of transportation (e.g., jogging, bicycle, electric kick scooter, or other vehicle) using a calculation formula specific to the means of transportation.

[0033] The calculation unit 12 outputs information indicating the calculated calorie expenditure of the user to the selection unit 13 .

[0034] The selection unit 13 selects products to be recommended to the user from products available at the target store in accordance with the calculated calorie expenditure of the user. The selection unit 13 is an example of a selection means.

[0035] For example, the selection unit 13 receives information indicating the calorie consumption of the user from the calculation unit 12. The selection unit 13 selects, as products to be suggested to the user, foods containing calories corresponding to the calculated calorie consumption of the user.

[0036] In one example, the selection unit 13 accesses an inventory management system ( FIG. 1 ) and selects products to be suggested to the user based on inventory information including at least one of the inventory quantity and the disposal deadline of the product at the target store. For example, the selection unit 13 selects products that have a large inventory compared to other stores or products that are scheduled to be disposed of within a certain time period as products to be suggested to the user. In another example, the selection unit 13 selects products that have a large inventory at the target store during the current time period as products to be suggested to the user. Alternatively, the selection unit 13 may select multiple products such that the total calorie content of the products increases as the user's calorie expenditure through exercise increases. If the user's calorie expenditure through exercise is higher than a threshold, the selection unit 13 may add desserts such as sweets and beverages to the products to be suggested to the user.

[0037] The selection unit 13 outputs information indicating the product to be recommended to the user to the output unit 14 .

[0038] The output unit 14 outputs information about the selected product. The output unit 14 is an example of an output means.

[0039] For example, the output unit 14 receives information indicating a product to be proposed to the user from the selection unit 13. The output unit 14 outputs, as information about the product, a coupon (e.g., a discount coupon or an exchange ticket) that allows the user to purchase the proposed product for free or at a discount.

[0040] (Operation of Health Management Apparatus 10) The operation of the health management apparatus 10 according to one embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 3. Fig. 3 is a flowchart showing the flow of the operation of the health management apparatus 10 according to one embodiment.

[0041] 3 , the determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the amount of physical activity of the user ( S101 ). The determination unit 11 outputs information indicating the determined target store to the calculation unit 12.

[0042] The calculation unit 12 calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store (S102). The calculation unit 12 outputs information indicating the calculated calories consumed by the user to the selection unit 13.

[0043] The selection unit 13 selects products to be recommended to the user from the products sold at the target store according to the calculated calorie consumption of the user (S103). The selection unit 13 outputs information indicating the products to be recommended to the user to the output unit 14.

[0044] The output unit 14 outputs information about the product selected by the selection unit 13 (S104).

[0045] This completes the operation of the health management device 10 according to one embodiment.

[0046] (Effects of this embodiment) According to the configuration of this embodiment, the determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the user's physical activity level. The calculation unit 12 calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store. The selection unit 13 selects a product to be suggested to the user from products sold at the target store based on the calculated calories consumed by the user. The output unit 14 outputs information about the selected product.

[0047] Since the user is suggested products according to the calories burned through exercise, they can exercise with the motivation of purchasing products at the target store. This can motivate more users to exercise. Furthermore, the target store can expect to attract customers from far away. Furthermore, the target store can increase the number of customers visiting the store and expand its business area. In addition, by suggesting products that are close to or have a large amount of stock to the user, it is possible to help the target store sell out of stock of products that are close to their expiration date.

[0048] 4 and 5, a second embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. In the second embodiment, a configuration will be described in which a benefit is given to a user when the user purchases a suggested product at a target store.

[0049] In the second embodiment, the same components as those in the first embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals as those in the first embodiment, and the description of these components will be omitted.

[0050] (Configuration of health management device 20) The configuration of health management device 20 according to one embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 4. Fig. 4 is a block diagram showing the configuration of health management device 20 according to one embodiment. As shown in Fig. 4, health management device 20 includes a determination unit 11, a calculation unit 12, a selection unit 13, and an output unit 14.

[0051] The health management device 20 further includes a granting unit 25. The granting unit 25 grants a benefit to the user when the user purchases the suggested product at the target store. The granting unit 25 is an example of a granting means.

[0052] For example, the granting unit 25 may determine whether the user's current location is the target store based on the location information of the user terminal 100. In this case, the granting unit 25 may acquire location information of the user terminal 100 from a GPS (Global Positioning System) receiver (not shown) installed in the user terminal 100 as information indicating the user's current location. The granting unit 25 may determine whether the user terminal 100 is connected to a wireless local area network (LAN) of the target store. In another example, the granting unit 25 may grant a reward to the user only if the user has achieved the target physical activity amount when the user arrives at the target store. In yet another example, the granting unit 25 may grant a reward to the user only if the user has achieved the target calorie consumption when the user arrives at the target store.

[0053] Alternatively, the granting unit 25 determines that the user has purchased the suggested product when it detects that the user's identification information (e.g., member ID, coupon code) and the identification information of the product suggested to the user have been read on a terminal (not shown) of the target store.

[0054] After the output unit 14 outputs information about the product selected by the selection unit 13, if it is determined that the user has purchased the information about the selected product at the target store, the granting unit 25 grants the user points or coupons that can be used at the target store. Alternatively, the granting unit 25 may grant a benefit to the user when it is determined that the user has arrived at the target store. Note that the granting unit 25 may distribute a benefit, such as points or coupons that the user can use at the target store, to the user without the condition that the user has arrived at the target store.

[0055] The contents of the benefit available at the target store may be determined based on inventory information at the target store. For example, products that are in high stock at the target store or products that are close to being discarded due to an approaching expiration date may be eligible for points or coupons available at the target store.

[0056] (Operation of Health Management Apparatus 20) The operation of health management apparatus 20 according to one embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 5. Fig. 5 is a flowchart showing the flow of the operation of health management apparatus 20 according to one embodiment.

[0057] 5 , the determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the amount of physical activity of the user ( S201 ). The determination unit 11 outputs information indicating the determined target store to the calculation unit 12.

[0058] The calculation unit 12 calculates the calorie consumption of the user when the user travels to the target store (S202). The calculation unit 12 outputs information indicating the calculated calorie consumption of the user to the selection unit 13.

[0059] The selection unit 13 selects products to be recommended to the user from the products sold at the target store according to the calculated calorie consumption of the user (S203). The selection unit 13 outputs information indicating the products to be recommended to the user to the output unit 14.

[0060] The output unit 14 outputs information about the product selected by the selection unit 13 (S204).

[0061] Thereafter, the granting unit 25 determines whether the user has purchased the suggested product at the target store (S205).

[0062] If it is determined that the user has purchased the suggested product at the target store (Yes in S205), the granting unit 25 grants a reward to the user (S206). Alternatively, the granting unit 25 may grant a reward to the user if it is determined that the user has arrived at the target store.

[0063] This completes the operation of the health management apparatus 20 according to one embodiment.

[0064] (Effects of this embodiment) According to the configuration of this embodiment, the determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the user's physical activity level. The calculation unit 12 calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store. The selection unit 13 selects a product to be suggested to the user from products sold at the target store based on the calculated calories consumed by the user. The output unit 14 outputs information about the selected product.

[0065] Since the user is offered products according to the calories burned through exercise, the user can exercise with the motivation of purchasing products at the target store. This can motivate more users to exercise.

[0066] Furthermore, according to the configuration of this embodiment, when the user purchases the suggested product at the target store, the awarding unit 25 awards the user a reward. This further motivates the user to exercise. Furthermore, the target store can increase sales by encouraging the user to visit the store again and purchase the product.

[0067] 6 to 9, a third embodiment of the present disclosure will be described. In this third embodiment, a specific example of information output to the user terminal 100 (FIG. 1) by the health management devices 10 and 20 (FIGS. 2 and 4) according to the first and second embodiments will be described.

[0068] Fig. 6 shows a screen of the user terminal 100. The screen shown in Fig. 6 displays the user's "step count" and "calories burned through exercise" (both of which are examples of the amount of physical activity). The screen shown in Fig. 6 also displays a sentence saying, "Why not exercise by walking to XX Mart YY store?" In this sentence, "XX Mart YY store" is an example of a target store.

[0069] In Figure 6, "Recommended Product: Chinese Rice Bowl 580kcal" is an example of information about the selected product. The information "Recommended Product: Chinese Rice Bowl 580kcal" is obtained from a list of products sold by "XX Mart YY Store" that is registered in the inventory management system.

[0070] FIG. 7 shows a list of target stores (Store YY, Store XX, Store ZZ) and information about products selected for each target store ("recommended products"). In the example shown in FIG. 7, there are three target stores, but the number of target stores is not particularly limited. As shown in this example, when there are multiple target stores, the selection unit 13 may select products with higher calorie values the further the distance from the user's current location to the target store (i.e., the higher the calories consumed during travel).

[0071] 8 shows a screen for receiving a user's desired product. In the example shown in FIG. 8, "Go buy dinner" and "Go buy dessert" are examples of information about the product desired by the user.

[0072] 9 shows a list of target stores (XX store, YY store) and information about the products selected for each target store ("coffee jelly", "cheesecake"). Unlike the example shown in FIG. 7, the example shown in FIG. 9 shows the location of each target store on a map.

[0073] (Effects of this embodiment) According to the configuration of this embodiment, the determination unit 11 determines a target store based on the user's physical activity level. The calculation unit 12 calculates the calories consumed by the user when the user travels to the target store. The selection unit 13 selects a product to be suggested to the user from products sold at the target store based on the calculated calories consumed by the user. The output unit 14 outputs information about the selected product.

[0074] Since the user is offered products according to the calories burned through exercise, the user can exercise with the motivation of purchasing products at the target store. This can motivate more users to exercise.

[0075] (Example of Hardware Configuration) Each of the components of the health management devices 10 and 20 described in the first and second embodiments is shown as a functional block. Some or all of these components are realized by an information processing device such as that shown in Fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a block diagram showing an example of the hardware configuration of the information processing device.

[0076] 10 , the computer 110 includes a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 111, a main memory 112, a storage device 113, an input interface 114, a display controller 115, a data reader / writer 116, and a communication interface 117. Note that the computer 110 may include a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) or an FPGA (Field-Programmable Gate Array) in addition to or instead of the CPU 111.

[0077] The CPU 111 loads the program (code) of this embodiment stored in the storage device 113 into the main memory 112 and executes it in a predetermined order to perform various calculations. The main memory 112 is typically a volatile storage device such as a DRAM (Dynamic Random Access Memory). The program of this embodiment is provided in a state stored in a computer-readable recording medium 120. The program of this embodiment may be distributed over the Internet connected via the communication interface 117.

[0078] Specific examples of the storage device 113 include a hard disk drive and a semiconductor storage device such as a flash memory. The input interface 114 mediates data transmission between the CPU 111 and input devices 118 such as a keyboard and a mouse. The display controller 115 is connected to a display device 119 and controls the display on the display device 119.

[0079] The data reader / writer 116 mediates data transmission between the CPU 111 and the recording medium 120, reads programs from the recording medium 120, and writes processing results from the computer 110 to the recording medium 120. The communication interface 117 mediates data transmission between the CPU 111 and other computers.

[0080] Specific examples of the recording medium 120 include general-purpose semiconductor storage devices such as CF (Compact Flash (registered trademark)) and SD (Secure Digital), magnetic recording media such as flexible disks, or optical recording media such as CD-ROMs (Compact Disk Read Only Memory).
