Description

Component arrangement structure for door inner panel

[0001] The present invention relates to an arrangement structure of components provided on a door inner panel.

[0002] Patent Document 1 discloses a mounting structure for a sealing screen that covers an opening provided in a door inner panel of a vehicle.

[0003] Patent No. 4967649

[0004] In some cases, grommets for inserting and protecting harnesses and the like are arranged around the sealing screen in the door inner panel. In this case, if the installation space for the grommets becomes large, the layout of other components provided in the door inner panel may be restricted.

[0005] An object of the present invention is to provide an arrangement structure that can reduce the installation space for grommets when arranging grommets for inserting harnesses or the like around a sealing screen in a door inner panel.

[0006] A component arrangement structure for a door inner panel according to one aspect of the present invention includes a sealing screen provided on the door inner panel, and a grommet having one end flange and an other end flange, with a harness passing through the grommet and fixed to a through-hole in the door inner panel. The sealing screen covers an opening in the door inner panel by attaching an outer edge of the sealing screen to one side of the door inner panel. The through-hole is provided close to the periphery of the sealing screen. When viewed in the thickness direction of the door inner panel, the outer peripheral edge of the other end flange is located outside the outer peripheral edge of the one end flange, and the one end flange is arranged on one side, and the other end flange is arranged on the other side opposite the one side.

[0007] According to the above-described arrangement structure of the components provided on the door inner panel, when grommets for inserting harnesses or the like are arranged around the sealing screen, the installation space for the grommets can be reduced.

[0008] Fig. 1 is a perspective view showing the arrangement of parts provided in a door inner panel according to an embodiment. Fig. 2A is a perspective view showing the structure of a grommet. Fig. 2B is a perspective view showing the structure of a grommet. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view taken along line A-A in Fig. 1.

[0009] Hereinafter, the layout structure of parts provided on a door inner panel according to an embodiment will be described with reference to the drawings. In the following description, the rear in the vehicle longitudinal direction, the upper in the vehicle vertical direction, and the left and right in the vehicle width direction will be simply referred to as the rear, upper, left and right, respectively. Furthermore, configurations having the same functions as configurations already described will be assigned the same reference numerals and description thereof will be omitted. Hereinafter, the layout structure of parts provided on the right door inner panel will be described. The layout structure of parts provided on the left door inner panel is the same as the layout structure of parts provided on the right door inner panel, and therefore description thereof will be omitted.

[0010] The component arrangement structure according to the embodiment includes a sealing screen 11 attached to a door inner panel 1 and a grommet 21 through which a harness 24 is inserted and fixed to a through-hole 3 in the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 1). The grommet 21 has a flange 22 on one end and a flange 23 on the other end (see FIGS. 2A and 2B).

[0011] The door inner panel 1 is a component that constitutes a vehicle door. A frame-shaped door frame having an opening is formed at the top of the door inner panel 1. For example, a door outer panel (not shown) is attached to the outside of the door inner panel 1 by being superimposed thereon.

[0012] The door inner panel 1 is provided with an opening 2 and a through-hole 3 (see FIG. 1 ). The opening 2 is formed so as to penetrate the door inner panel 1 in the thickness direction. The opening 2 is provided, for example, in the lower part of the door inner panel 1, slightly rearward in the vehicle longitudinal direction (see FIG. 1 ). The opening 2 can be used as a work hole for installing various components provided on the door inner panel 1. For example, by extending a worker's arm from the opening 2 to the outside of the vehicle compartment, various work can be performed on the outside of the door inner panel 1. The through-hole 3 is provided around the opening 2 in the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 1 ). Note that the door inner panel 1 may be provided with work holes, drainage holes, locking holes, etc. other than those described above.

[0013] A sealing screen 11 is attached to the door inner panel 1. The sealing screen 11 is disposed on the inside of the vehicle compartment, which is on the inside of the door inner panel 1 in the vehicle width direction, and covers the opening 2 (see FIG. 1 ). The sealing screen 11 is formed, for example, from a thin film, but may have a portion that can be locked to the door inner panel 1 or the opening 2. The sealing screen 11 may cover the periphery of the opening 2, or may cover work holes, drainage holes, locking holes, etc. other than the opening 2.

[0014] An outer edge 12 of the sealing screen 11 is attached to a mounting surface 4 on the interior side of the vehicle, which is one side of the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 1). More specifically, a sealant 6, which is an adhesive, is disposed around the opening 2 on the mounting surface 4. The outer edge 12 of the sealing screen 11 is adhered to the sealant 6 and fixed to the mounting surface 4 (see FIGS. 1 and 3). This allows the sealing screen 11 to cover the opening 2 on the mounting surface 4. This prevents water, dust, and the like from entering the vehicle interior through the opening 2.

[0015] The through-hole 3 is formed to penetrate the door inner panel 1 in the thickness direction. A grommet 21 through which a harness 24 is inserted is fixed to the through-hole 3 (see FIGS. 1 and 3 ). That is, the harness 24 extends from the outside to the inside of the door inner panel 1 via the grommet 21. As will be described later, the work of attaching the grommet 21 to the through-hole 3 is performed on the outside of the door inner panel 1 through the opening 2. For this reason, the through-hole 3 is provided close to the periphery of the sealing screen 11 that covers the opening 2.

[0016] In the embodiment, the through hole 3 has a rectangular shape with rounded corners and is disposed above the opening 2 (see FIG. 1). In the embodiment, two harnesses 24 are inserted through the grommet 21 (see FIGS. 2A and 2B). The harnesses 24 are used, for example, to control the open / close state of a vehicle door. The harnesses 24 may be cables, and the number of harnesses 24 is not limited to the above. The shape and arrangement of the through hole 3 in the door inner panel 1 are not limited to the above.

[0017] The grommet 21 has a one-end flange 22, an other-end flange 23, and a groove 25 provided between the one-end flange 22 and the other-end flange 23 (see FIG. 2A-3). The grommet 21 also has an insertion hole through which the harness 24 is inserted. When the grommet 21 is fixed to the through-hole 3, the insertion hole is inserted, for example, in the thickness direction of the grommet 21. By inserting the harness 24 into the grommet 21, the harness 24 can be pulled into the inside of the door inner panel 1 while suppressing interference between the harnesses 24 and between the harness 24 and the through-hole 3. When the grommet 21 is fixed to the through-hole 3, the one-end flange 22 and the other-end flange 23 extend in a flange-like shape in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the through-hole 3 (see FIG. 2A-3). That is, when viewed in the vehicle width direction, the one end flange 22 and the other end flange 23 cover the periphery of the through hole 3 .

[0018] When the grommet 21 is fixed in the through hole 3 of the door inner panel 1, the one-end flange 22 is disposed inside the door inner panel 1 (see FIGS. 2B and 3). That is, the one-end flange 22 is disposed on the mounting surface 4. The other-end flange 23 is disposed outside the door inner panel 1 (see FIGS. 2A and 3). That is, the other-end flange 23 is disposed on the surface 5 opposite the mounting surface 4. The outer edge of the groove 25 is engaged with the inner edge of the through hole 3 (see FIG. 3). In this state, when viewed in the thickness direction of the door inner panel 1, the outer peripheral edge 23A of the other-end flange 23 is located outside the outer peripheral edge 22A of the one-end flange 22 (see FIG. 3). In other words, in terms of the outer dimensions in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the through hole 3 (hereinafter referred to as the axis-perpendicular dimension), the axis-perpendicular dimension of the other-end flange 23 is larger than the axis-perpendicular dimension of the one-end flange 22. The axis-orthogonal dimension of the one-end flange 22 is larger than the axis-orthogonal dimension of the groove 25. Furthermore, the axis-orthogonal dimension of the one-end flange 22 is larger than the inner diameter dimension of the through hole 3. Note that the shape of the grommet 21 is not limited to the above, as long as it can be fixed to the through hole 3 and the axis-orthogonal dimension of the other-end flange 23 is larger than the axis-orthogonal dimension of the one-end flange 22. For example, the shapes of the one-end flange 22 and the other-end flange 23 may be circular when viewed in the axial direction of the through hole 3. That is, the grommet 21 may have the other-end flange 23 with a larger diameter and the one-end flange 22 with a smaller diameter than the other-end flange 23.

[0019] With the grommet 21 fixed in the through-hole 3 of the door inner panel 1, a part of the other-end flange 23 may be positioned so as to overlap the sealing screen 11 when viewed in the thickness direction of the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 3). For example, by providing the through-hole 3 closer to the sealing screen 11, the grommet 21 can be positioned closer to the sealing screen 11. As a result, when viewed in the vehicle width direction, the outer peripheral edge 23A of the other-end flange 23 may be positioned so as to overlap the outer edge portion 12 of the sealing screen 11.

[0020] The procedure for attaching the sealing screen 11 and the grommet 21 to the door inner panel 1 will be described. First, on the outside of the door inner panel 1, the harness 24 is inserted through the insertion hole of the grommet 21. Next, one end of the harness 24 inserted through the grommet 21 is inserted from the outside to the inside of the door inner panel 1 through the through-hole 3. At this time, the harness 24 is inserted into the grommet 21 so that the one-end flange 22 is positioned inside and the other-end flange 23 is positioned outside, and the grommet 21 is positioned outside the door inner panel 1 in this position. Next, the grommet 21 held in this position is inserted into the through-hole 3 from the outside to the inside of the door inner panel 1. This fixes the grommet 21 to the through-hole 3. At this time, the one-end flange 22 is positioned inside the door inner panel 1, and the other-end flange 23 is positioned outside the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 2A-3 ). The above work can be performed outside the door inner panel 1, for example, by extending the worker's arm from the opening 2 to the outside of the door inner panel 1. Therefore, if the through-hole 3 is provided close to the opening 2, the above work can be easily performed. After that, the outer edge 12 of the sealing screen 11 is adhered to the sealant 6 arranged on the inside of the door inner panel 1 (see FIG. 3 ). As a result, the sealing screen 11 is attached to the mounting surface 4, covering the opening 2. Note that the procedure and method for attaching the above-mentioned components are not limited to those described above.

[0021] (1) The arrangement of components provided in a door inner panel 1 according to the embodiment includes a sealing screen 11 provided in the door inner panel 1, and a grommet 21 having a one-end flange 22 and an other-end flange 23, which is fixed to a through-hole 3 in the door inner panel 1 by inserting a harness 24 therethrough. The sealing screen 11 covers an opening 2 provided in the door inner panel 1 by attaching an outer edge 12 of the sealing screen 11 to a mounting surface 4, which is one side of the door inner panel 1. The through-hole 3 is provided close to the periphery of the sealing screen 11. When viewed in the thickness direction of the door inner panel 1, the outer peripheral edge 23A of the other-end flange 23 is located outside the outer peripheral edge 22A of the one-end flange 22, and the one-end flange 22 is disposed on the mounting surface 4, and the other-end flange 23 is disposed on a surface 5, which is the other side opposite to the mounting surface 4.

[0022] According to the above configuration, by arranging the one-end flange 22, whose axially orthogonal dimension is smaller than that of the other-end flange 23, on the mounting surface 4 of the sealing screen 11, the grommet 21 can be arranged closer to the sealing screen 11 than when the other-end flange 23 is arranged on the mounting surface 4. That is, the through-hole 3 can be provided closer to the sealing screen 11. This reduces the installation space required for the grommet 21 in the door inner panel 1, improving the flexibility in the layout of various other components provided on the door inner panel 1. Furthermore, by arranging the through-hole 3 closer to the opening 2, the grommet 21 can be attached to the through-hole 3 via the opening 2 more easily.

[0023] (2) In the embodiment, when viewed in the thickness direction of the door inner panel 1, a portion of the other end flange 23 may be positioned so as to overlap with the sealing screen 11. This allows the through hole 3 to be located closer to the sealing screen 11, thereby further reducing the installation space for the grommet 21 in the door inner panel 1. This further improves the degree of freedom in the layout of various other components provided in the door inner panel 1. In addition, the work of attaching the grommet 21 to the through hole 3 through the opening 2 can be more easily performed.

[0024] The above-described embodiments are merely examples described to facilitate understanding of the invention. The technical scope of the invention is not limited to the specific technical matters disclosed in the above-described embodiments, but also includes various modifications, changes, alternative technologies, etc. that can be easily derived therefrom.

[0025] In the above embodiment, the present invention is applied to the door inner panel 1 of the right front door, but it may also be applied to door inner panels of the rear door, etc.
