Description

METHOD FOR TIMING ADVANCE REPORTING, METHOD FOR SOLVING UL / DL CHANNELS COLLISION, AND METHOD FOR DATA TRANSMISSION WITHIN RRM RESTRICTIONTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure generally relates to encoding and decoding technology, and in particular to a method for timing advance reporting, a method for solving uplink and downlink channels collision, a method for data transmission within RRM restriction, a communication device and a computer readable medium.BACKGROUND

[0002] According to current wireless communication specification, the granularity of Timing Advance (TA) report is 1 slot based on 15khz SCS (in another word, the granularity of TA report is 1ms) . In addition, as specified in TS 38.321, conditions to trigger TA report has been defined. Specifically, the Timing Advance reporting procedure is used in a non-terrestrial network or an air to ground network to provide the base station (e.g., gNB) with an estimate of the UE’s Timing Advance value.

[0003] Downlink (DL) and Uplink (UL) overlapping and back-to-back non-overlapping cases were identified in Rel-17 HD-FDD redcap, including a certain collision handling rules (dropping rules) . Some of the dropping rules can be re-used for readcap / e-redcap under Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) scenario. However, if similar mechanism is re-used without adaptive modification, high resource waste or severe scheduling restriction will be caused.

[0004] Besides, latency is one of key requirement for XR (e.g., virtual reality and augmented reality) . In 5G New Radio system, measurement gaps are configured to allow a user equipment to do inter-frequency neighbor cell measurement, and the corresponding Radio Frequency (RF) tuning for Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurement purposes (e.g., mobility, load balancing, Carrier Aggregation set-up) . During an activated measurement gap, the UE and / or the base station cannot transmit or receive data, which may limit the capacity of XR services to some extent.SUMMARY

[0005] Accordingly, the present disclosure aims to provide a decoding method for facial video, an encoding method for facial video, an apparatus, and a computer readable media.

[0036] The disclosure will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings and examples. Apparently, the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present disclosure, not all of the embodiments. All other embodiments obtained by a person of ordinary skill in the art based on the embodiments of the present invention without creative efforts shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.

[0037] As describe before, current communication specification has identified a certain collision handling rules (dropping rules) . FIG. 1 illustrates scheduling limitation due to Timing Advance mis-matching between a user equipment and a base station. As shown in FIG. 1, due to TA mismatching, gNB cannot judge the actual overlapping area of DL and UL signals. If gNB needs to avoid collision between DL and UL, then it will assume a largest value with parameter offsetThresholdTA, which may cause waste in communication resources. Otherwise, collision may happen, and if collision happens, capacity degradation may be caused.

[0038] To solve the problem, some embodiments of the present disclosure provide a method for timing advance reporting, as shown in FIG. 2. The method may be executed by a user equipment (UE) . The method shown in FIG. 2 may include operations described in blocks S101 to S102. In S101, a first Timing Advance Report (TAR) is transmitted to a base station. The first TAR includes a first timing advance (TA) . In S102, a difference between an actual TA and the first TA is transmitted to the base station.

[0039] Based on the method, Timing Advance (TA) can be updated between two TA reporting, as shown in FIG. 3. A MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) and / or a Uplink Control Information (UCI) can be used for TA updates. The TA update is based on the first TAR and the difference between the first TA and the actual (current) TA of the user equipment. In other word, The actual timing advance (TA) is equal to:value of the first TAR plus the difference.

[0040] The proposed method involves updating the Timing Advance (TA) between two reporting instances -for instance, between the first reported TA value and the subsequent one. The TA reporting is based on the first TA value and a pre-set threshold (e.g., parameter offsetThresholdTA) when the variation between the current estimate of the TA value (the second TA) and the first reported TA value equals or surpasses the pre-set threshold. For example, after the first TAR is transmitted, when a difference between the current estimated TA of the UE and the first TA is equal to or larger than the pre-set threshold, the UE may transmit a second TAR to the base station. The transmission of the TA update as proposed by the present method is between two adjacent TAR, i.e., the first TAR and the second TAR.

[0041] To perform the TA update, we implement a difference value based on the first TA value. The actual TA value is then calculated as the first TA value plus or minus the difference value, as depicted in FIG. 3. This difference value is communicated by the UE via, for example but not limited to a MAC-CE or UCI.

[0042] In some embodiments, the method may further include: defining a change table related to change values of timing advance at both the UE and the base station. The operation of transmitting the difference between an actual TA and the first TA to the base station may include: determining a table  index corresponding to a respective one of the change values of the change table based on the difference between an actual TA and the first TA; and transmitting the table index to the base station.

[0043] The TA update can be periodical. Alternatively or additionally, the TA update can be triggered based on a certain condition. For example, a fine threshold can be defined or configured at the UE side, which may be smaller than the pre-set threshold (e.g., parameter offsetThresholdTA) as described above. When a difference between the actual TA of the UE and the first TA surpasses the fine threshold, the UE transmits the TA update.

[0044] Specifically, a TA change table can be designed or defined, and the index of this table can be indicated by the MAC-CE or UCI. This approach effectively reduces the signaling overhead associated with TA updates., in addition, the TA can be alignment timely between base station and user device. Table 1 is an example of a TA change table, in which the first TA is equal to 100ms and the TA update granularity is 1ms. For example, when the signaling index of TA update is indicated as ‘12’ , the actual value of current TA is equal to 99ms. For example, when the signaling index of TA update is indicated as ‘23’ , the actual value of current TA is equal to 110ms. The UE may transmit the table index to the base station, and thus the base station may acquire the TA change value based on the index.

[0045] FIG. 1 TA change table

[0046] The TA update granularity can be slot, ms, symbol or a set of symbols, and it’s configured by gNB via RRC, MAC-CE or DCI. In some embodiments, the method may further include: determining an update granularity of timing advance based on the pre-set threshold and a payload size of TA update signaling. Specifically, the TA update granularity may be determined based on the value of parameter offsetThresholdTA and payload size of TA update signaling. Specifically, assume that the payload size of TA update signaling is N bits, and the value of offsetThresholdTA is M, then the granularity is equal to: M /  (2^ (N-1) ) ms, or equal to: (m*14)  /  (2^ (N-1) ) symbol (s) .

[0047] In some embodiments, the method may further include: receiving a timing configuration of TAR update from the base station, and the operation of transmitting the pre-set threshold (e.g., parameter offsetThresholdTA) to the base station may include transmitting the difference at a time based on the timing configuration.

[0048] Specifically, the timing configuration may be determined based on at least one of: a periodicity for TA update; a time offset between the first TAR and a first period for TA update; or a starting point for TA update within a period for TA update. The TA update can be periodic or non-periodic. Tor periodic TA update between two TA reporting, at least one of the following parameters need to be configured by gNB via RRC or MAC-CE or DCI: a) a periodicity for TA update; b) time offset between the first periodicity for TA update and the first TA reporting; c) time offset for update TA within periodicity; or d) time offset between first TA update and the first TA reporting. It should be understood, unit of the granularity of periodicity and time offset can be symbol, slot, a set of symbol, or ms.

[0049] In some embodiments, the method may further include: transmitting additional TA parameters. Specifically, the additional TA parameters comprise at least one of: a change rate of TA; motion information of the UE; or a time window for transmission of the additional TA parameters. The change rate of TA may be a positive TA change rate or a negative TA change rate. The motion information of the UE may include moving speed, direction, forward motion, reverse motion etc. Some or all of these  motion information may be reported by the UE, and the base station (e.g, gNB) may use these parameters to calculate and determine the actual TA or the TA change of the UE. In some embodiments, the TA reporting located in previous of TA change information can be regard as a reference TA, where the TA change is based on the reference TA. The time window may include the starting point and / or time duration. The additional information reported by the UE is valid within the time window. The granularity of the time window can be describe in slot, ms, symbol, a set of symbols, etc.

[0050] Furthermore, the detailed design of the TA update information is necessary. The TA update difference value can either be a fixed value or a related value. For a fixed value, the TA update granularity can be pre-defined or configured by the gNB via RRC, MAC-CE or DCI, and the TA update is based on this granularity. For instance, if the granularity of the TA update is configured as 1ms, and the offsetThresholdTA is configured as 8, then a total of 4 bits are needed for the TA update. The UE reports TA update when the TA change, based on the first TA, is equal to or greater than 1ms. In this case, the Most Significant Bit (MSB) can be used to indicate the change rate direction, such as a positive or negative change. For a related value, the granularity of the TA update is calculated based on the TA update payload size and the offsetThresholdTA. The granularity is equal to the value of offsetThresholdTA divided by 2 to the power of (payload size of TA update minus 1) in milliseconds. The UE needs to update TA when the TA change overreach TA update location is equal to or greater than the value of offsetThresholdTA divided by 2 to the power of (payload size of TA update minus 1) in milliseconds.

[0051] In some embodiments, when the second TA reporting overlaps with TA update window in time domain. The second TA reporting may be provided to the base station and the TA update may be dropped.

[0052] The method shown in FIG. 2 may allow the base station to acquire a more precise Timing Advance of the UE in time. Therefore, the implementation of the method may reduce communication resource waste and improve service capacity.

[0053] FIG. 4 is a flowchart of a method for timing advance reporting based on another embodiment of the present disclosure. The method may include operations described in blocks S201 to S202. In S201, aa first timing advance report (TAR) is received from a user equipment. The first TAR includes a first timing advance (TA) . In S202, a difference between an actual TA and the first TA is received by the base station. Operations of the method described with regard to FIG. 4 are similar to the method described with regard to FIG. 2. For simplicity and clarity, details of some of these operations will not be repeated herein.

[0054] In some embodiments, an actual timing advance (TA) is equal to value of the first TAR plus the difference.

[0055] In some embodiments, the operation of receiving the difference between an actual TA and the first TA includes: receiving the difference via MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) or Uplink Control Information (UCI) .

[0056] In some embodiments, the method may further include: defining change table related to change values of timing advance at both the UE and the base station, and the operation of receiving the  difference between an actual TA and the first TA may include: receiving a table index corresponding to a respective one of the change values of the change table, wherein the table index is determined by the UE based on the difference between an actual TA and the first TA.

[0057] In some embodiments, the method may further include: transmitting a timing configuration of TAR update to the UE, wherein the timing configuration is determined based on at least one of: a periodicity for TA update; a time offset between the first TAR and a first period for TA update; or a starting point for TA update within a period for TA update.

[0058] In some embodiments, the method may further include: receiving additional TA parameters, wherein the additional TA parameters comprise at least one of: a change rate of TA; motion information of the UE; or a time window for transmission of the additional TA parameters.

[0059] The method shown in FIG. 4 may allow the base station to acquire a more precise Timing Advance of the UE in time. Therefore, the implementation of the method may reduce communication resource waste and improve service capacity.

[0060] FIG. 5 shows an example of difference between TA reported granularity and TA actual granularity. In the current specification, the granularity of TA reporting is based on slots with a 15KHz Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) . The Timing Advance field specifies the smallest integer number of slots for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) or symbols for Air-to-Ground (ATG) , utilizing a sub-carrier spacing of 15 kHz for NTN and either 15 kHz or 30 kHz for ATG. This value is greater than or equal to the Timing Advance value, which means a TA reported by a User Equipment (UE) needs to align with a granularity of 1ms. To avoid collision, the gNB may opt not to schedule transmissions in slots D1 and D2 when a packet needs to be transmitted within slot U2, as shown in FIG. 5. However, this approach can lead to resource wastage. To solve the problem, the present disclosure also provides a method to indicate a fine granularity of TA reporting for updating the TA within two TA reporting, which aims to avoid collision between UL and DL transmission at the base station.

[0061] FIG. 6 is a flowchart of a method for timing advance reporting based on yet another embodiment of the present disclosure. The method may be executed by a UE. As shown in FIG. 6, the method may include operations described in blocks S301 to S302. In S301, one or more subsets within duration of a granularity of TAR are determined. In S302, an indication corresponding to the one or more subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR is transmitted to a base station.

[0062] In some embodiments, the operation of transmitting the indication corresponding to the one or more of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR to the base station may include: transmitting a MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) to the base station, wherein two bits of the MA-CE are configured to indicate four subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR.

[0063] The current reserved bits (2 MSB bits) within a Timing Advance (TA) reported MAC-CE to can be used to indicate the actual range within a slot in the time domain. For example, a total of 2 bits can be used (4 states can be indicated) . Consequently, the total number of symbols within a slot can be split into 4 groups, with each state of the 2 bits used to indicate a group. This means the actual TA will be located within the range of the corresponding group. For a slot with Normal Cyclic Prefix (NCP) , the  split groups of symbols within a slot can have different configurations. FIGS. 7a to 7d are different examples of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR.

[0064] As shown in FIG. 7a, in a first configuration, the subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR may include Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 contain four, four, three and three symbols respectively. Specifically, Group 1 includes symbols 1 to 4, Group 2 includes symbols 5 to 8, Group 3 includes symbols 9 to 11, and Group 4 includes symbols 12 to 14.

[0065] As shown in FIG. 7b, in a second configuration, the subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR may include Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 contain three, three, four and four symbols respectively. Specifically, Group 1 includes symbols 1 to 3, Group 2 includes symbols 4 to 6, Group 3 includes symbols 7 to 10, and Group 4 includes symbols 11 to 14.

[0066] As shown in FIG. 7c, in a third configuration, the subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR may include Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 contain four, four, four and two symbols respectively. Specifically, Group 1 includes symbols 1 to 4, Group 2 includes symbols 5 to 8, Group 3 includes symbols 9 to 12, and Group 4 includes symbols 13 to 14.

[0067] As shown in FIG. 7d, in a fourth configuration, the subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR may include Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4. Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and Group 4 contain three, four, three and four symbols respectively. Specifically, Group 1 includes symbols 1 to 3, Group 2 includes symbols 4 to 7, Group 3 includes symbols 8 to 10, and Group 4 includes symbols 11 to 14.

[0068] It should be understood, the subsets may be configured in other ways. For example, in one embodiment, the groups may include four, three, four, and three symbols respectively. In another embodiment, the groups may include two, four, four, and four symbols respectively. Besides, for a slow with ECP, the split group of symbols within a slot can include four groups, and each of the group may include three symbols.

[0069] In some embodiments, define M1=mod (C, M) , K1=ceil (C / M) , and K2=floor (C / M) . If M1>0, then symbol groupi, for i=0, 1, 2, 3, consists of symbols with indices m*K1+k, (where k=0, 1, ..., K1-1) . For symbol groupi, where i=M1, M1+1, …, M-1, it consists of symbols with indices M1*K1+ (m -M1) *K2+k, (for k=0, 1, …, K2–1) . Here, C represents the total number of symbols (whether within a slot or not) , and M represents the total states of signaling that can be indicated.

[0070] In some embodiments, the operation of transmitting the indication corresponding to the one or more of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR to the base station may include: responsive to a MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) for TAR, transmitting a specific signaling for indicating the one or more of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR to the base station.

[0071] A specific signaling (e.g., MAC-CE or UCI) can be employed to indicate the fine granularity of TA. The granularity can be symbol based or symbol-group based. When symbol based granularity of  TA is used, total 4bits are needed to indicate the value from 1 to 14, that is, to indicate the actual TA value based on symbol level. When symbol-group based granularity of TA (e.g., including 2 symbols) is used, total N (N can be an integer) bits are needed, N related to the symbols group size. Take 2 symbols granularity as an example, which is used to indicate the value from 1 to 8, total 3 bits will be needed, and each index includes two symbols. Table 2 shows an example of the specific signaling for symbol-group based granularity.

[0072] Table 2. Specific signaling for symbol-group based granularity

[0073] It should be understood, for ECP, the total number of symbols within a slot is 12, and thus the specific signaling for ECP should be slightly modified.

[0074] In some embodiments, The specific signaling can be triggered by a TA reporting MAC-CE, and at least one of the following parameters can be pre-defined or configured by gNB via RRC, MAC-CE or DCI: a time relation between the MAC CE for TAR and the specific signaling; a time window for the UE to transmit the specific signaling (i.e., reporting the TA granularity) ; a payload size of the specific signaling; time and frequency resources for the specific signaling; or a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resource for transmitting the specific signaling.

[0075] In some embodiments, the operation of transmitting the indication corresponding to the one or more of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR to the base station may include: transmitting an enhanced MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) to the base station. The enhanced MAC-CE may include: a first part for indicating an actual timing advance with reference to the granularity of TAR; and a second part for indicating positions of the one or more subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR.

[0076] As shown in FIGS. 8 &9, the enhanced MC-CE may be divided into two parts. The first part (4 MSB bits of Field Time Advance of Field X) can be used to indicate which symbols of the actual TA  is located within a slot, that is, the finer granularity. The remaining part may be used to indicate the TA based on granularity of slot or ms level.

[0077] The method shown in FIG. 6 may further include, before the operation of transmitting the enhanced MAC-CE, receiving an indication from the base station for indicating the enhanced MAC-CE is to be used. In some embodiments, the method may further include: determining whether uplink (UL) resources match the enhanced MAC-CE; and responsive to the UL resources matching the enhanced MAC-CE, transmitting the enhanced MAC-CE. When enhanced TA reported MAC-CE is introduced, MAC-CE used for TA reporting can be indicated by gNB via RRC, MAC-CE or DCI. In some embodiments, which MAC-CE is used for TA reporting is based on UL resources for TA. If the UL resources is enough to carry the enhanced MAC-CE, then enhanced MAC-CE can be used for TA reporting. If the UL resources is not enough to carry the enhanced MAC-CE, then legacy MAC-CE can be used for TA reporting.

[0078] The method shown in FIG. 6 may allow the base station to acquire a finer Timing Advance of the UE in time. Therefore, the implementation of the method may reduce communication resource waste and improve service capacity.

[0079] FIG. 10 is a flowchart of a method for timing advance reporting based on another embodiment of the present disclosure. The method may be executed by a base station. The method may include the operation S401: an indication corresponding to one or more subsets within duration of a granularity of TAR is received. Operations of the method described with regard to FIG. 10 are similar to the method described with regard to FIG. 6. For simplicity and clarity, details of some of these operations will not be repeated herein. In this embodiment, the granularity of TAR is 1ms and the one or more subsets within duration of the granularity of TAR is determined by a user equipment (UE) .

[0080] In some embodiments, the receiving the indication corresponding to one or more subsets within duration of a granularity of TAR comprises: receiving a MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) from the UE, wherein two bits of the MA-CE are configured to indicate four subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR.

[0081] In some embodiments, the method may further include: transmitting a MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) for TAR to the UE; wherein the receiving the indication corresponding to one or more subsets within duration of a granularity of TAR comprises: receiving a specific signaling for indicating the one or more of subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR from the UE.

[0082] In some embodiments, the method may further include: transmitting at least one of following parameters to the UE: a time relation between the MAC CE for TAR and the specific signaling; a time window for the UE to transmit the specific signaling; a payload size of the specific signaling; time and frequency resources for the specific signaling; and a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) resource for transmitting the specific signaling.

[0083] In some embodiments, the receiving the indication corresponding to the one or more subsets within duration of a granularity of TAR comprises: receiving an enhanced MAC Control Element (MAC-CE) from the UE, wherein the enhanced MAC-CE comprises: a first part for indicating an actual timing  advance with reference to the granularity of TAR; and a second part for indicating positions of the one or more subsets within the duration of the granularity of TAR.

[0084] In some embodiments, the method may further include: transmitting an indication to the UE for indicating the enhanced MAC-CE is to be used.

[0085] The method shown in FIG. 10 may allow the base station to acquire a finer Timing Advance of the UE in time. Therefore, the implementation of the method may reduce communication resource waste and improve service capacity.

[0086] FIG. 11 illustrate an exemplary SI pattern in time domain. In current specification, other system information (OSI) are configured / indicated by System Information Block 1 (SIB1) , a periodicity and System Information (SI) window can be configured to a UE, when more than one SIs have the same periodicity, the SIs can be transmitted within a SI window. The order of the SIs are configured via SIB1, as show in FIG. 11. The UE needs to receive SIB 19 to acquire information of satellite timely. For Half Duplex Frequency Division Duplexing (HD-FDD) UE, due to collision of Tx-Rx / Rx-Tx switching and / or transmission direction, some opportunity for SIB19 receiving or some UL channel transmission can be missed. Thus, the current rules for SIB 19 reception and uplink transmission is not quite satisfying, and corresponding enhancement is needed.

[0087] Different embodiments of the present disclosure propose methods for defining several rules to determine data transmission when semi-static DL / UL transmission overlaps in time domain, or semi-static DL / UL transmission collides with Tx-to-Rx / Rx-to-Tx switching time, or dynamic DL / UL transmission overlaps in time domain, or dynamic DL / UL transmission collides with Tx-to-Rx / Rx-to-Tx switching time. With the implementation of these methods, when more than one transmissions with different directions collide with each other, only one of the transmissions is dropped and remaining transmission (s) can be reserved. Thus, the capacity of system can be improved. As described before, the TA reporting granularity and the TA update may cause mis-matched TA value at the base station side. Thus, it is difficult for the base station to avoid collision between different transmission (e.g., DL reception and UL transmission) channels based on the scheduling mechanism of the base station.

[0088] FIG. 12 is a flowchart of a method for solving uplink and downlink channels collision according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method may be executed by either a user equipment or a base station. As shown in FIG. 12, the method may include operations described in blocks S501 to S502. In S501, a collision solving rule is determined. In S502, when more than one transmissions in different directions collide with each other, one of the transmission is dropped and another of the transmission is reserved based on the collision solving rule.

[0089] In some embodiments, a first channel / data with higher priority can be transmitted / received, and a second channel / data with lower priority can be dropped. The priority of channel / data can be indicated by a base station (e.g., gNB) via, for example, RRC, MAC-CE or DCI. The priority order for a set of channels or data may be predefined, and the set of channels or data may include: PDSCH, PUSCH, SRS, SR, PUCCH, and / or CSI-RS.

[0090] In some embodiments, a first channel / data which has no repetition transmission can be  transmitted / received, and a second channel / data which has repetition transmission can be dropped. In this way, the capacity of both transmission may be guaranteed.

[0091] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on time sequence or location in time domain of their corresponding Downlink Control Information (DCI) . FIG. 13 shows a scenario where two data scheduled by two DCI overlap with each other in time domain. The location of scheduling Downlink Control Information (DCI) of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. The channel / data scheduled by a previous DCI can be transmitted / received, while the channel / data scheduled by a later DCI can be dropped. For instance, as shown in FIG. 13, DCI 1 schedules a DownLink (DL) data transmission that is located within D4 (which can be regarded as a frame or a slot) , and DCI 2 schedules an Uplink (UL) data transmission that is also located within D4. T1 is the starting time of DCI1, T2 is the ending time of DCI1, T3 is the starting time of DCI2, and T4 is the ending time of DCI2. Since the location (based on the starting time of DCI) of DCI1 in the time domain is earlier than DCI2, then DL data1 can be transmitted / received, while the UL data1 needs to be dropped. In some embodiments, if the location of the DCI is based on the last symbol, then the position of DCI1 is later than DCI2. In this case, UL data1 can be transmitted / received, while DL data1 needs to be dropped. Alternatively, in some other embodiments, the channel / data scheduled by a previous DCI can be transmitted / received, while the channel / data scheduled by a later DCI can be dropped.

[0092] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on their corresponding Transport Block Size (TBS) . The Transport Block Size (TBS) of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data with a large TBS can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data with a small TBS may need to be dropped. This approach ensures that a channel / data with a large TBS can improve the system's data rate. In some embodiments, a channel / data with a small TBS can be transmitted / received, and a channel / data with a large TBS may need to be dropped. This way, a Transport Block (TB) with a small size will have less impact on other User Equipment (UEs) , reducing the interference between UEs within a system and thereby improving the system's capacity.

[0093] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on their corresponding Frequency Division Resource Allocation (FDRA) size or Time Division Resource Allocation (TDRA) size. The FDRA / TDRA (Frequency Domain Resource Allocation / Time Domain Resource Allocation) size of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data with a large FDRA can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data with a small FDRA / TDRA may need to be dropped. This approach ensures that a channel / data with a large TBS can improve the system's data rate. In some embodiments, a channel / data with a small FDRA / TDRA can be transmitted / received, and a channel / data with a large FDRA / TDRA may need to be dropped. This way, a channel / data with a small FDRA / TDRA will have less impact on other UEs within the system, thereby improving the system's capacity.

[0094] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on their corresponding Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) value. The Modulation and Coding Scheme (MCS) value of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data with a high MCS can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data with a low MCS may need to be dropped. This approach ensures that a channel / data with a high MCS can improve the system's data rate. In some embodiments, a channel / data with a low MCS can be transmitted / received, and a channel / data with a high MCS may need to be dropped. This way, a channel / data with a low MCS has a higher probability of being correctly decoded than a channel / data with a high MCS, thus guaranteeing the reliability of the channel / data.

[0095] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: dropping a first transmission with a larger remaining latency, and reserving a second transmission with a smaller remaining latency. The remaining latency of the channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data with short remaining latency can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data with long remaining latency may need to be dropped. This approach ensures that the capacity of both low-latency and high-latency channel / data can be guaranteed, eliminating the need to drop some data packets due to latency overages.

[0096] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on whether the more than one transmissions are enabled with Hybrid Automatic Repeat request (HARQ) procedure. Whether a HARQ (Hybrid Automatic Repeat Request) feedback is enabled / disabled for a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data for which the HARQ procedure is disabled can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data for which the HARQ procedure is not disabled may be dropped, and vice versa.

[0097] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on location of the more than one transmissions in time domain. The location of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data located later in the time domain can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data located earlier in the time domain may need to be dropped. In some embodiments, the location of the channel / data is based on the starting or ending time of a channel / data. When the locations in the time domain are the same, a channel / data with a larger TDRA can be transmitted / received, and a channel / data with a small TDRA may need to be dropped.

[0098] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: the dropping and the reserving of the more than one transmissions are determined based on Aggregation Level (AL) of the scheduling PDCCH for the more than one transmissions. The Aggregation Level (AL) of scheduling DCI of a channel / data can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted / received. A channel / data scheduled by a DCI with a high AL can be transmitted / received, while a channel / data scheduled by a DCI with a low AL may need to be dropped. This approach can save some resources of the PDCCH, thus achieving capacity improvement. In some embodiments, a channel / data scheduled by a DCI with a low  AL can be transmitted / received, and a channel / data scheduled by a DCI with a high AL may need to be dropped. Since a DCI with a low AL has lower reliability, transmitting / receiving a channel / data scheduled by a DCI with a low AL can guarantee the reliability of such DCIs.

[0099] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: A channel / data with 2 TBs can be transmission / reception, then a channel / data with 1 TB need to drop, with this way, the resources efficient can be improved, and thus, the capacity of system can also be improved.

[0100] In some embodiments, the collision solving rule includes: Whether a channel / data with / without TB across multiple slots (TBoMS) transmission can be used to determine which channel / data can be transmitted. For instance, a channel / data without TBoMS transmission can be reserved, then a channel / data with TBoMS transmission need to drop, with this way, the capacity of system can be improved.

[0101] In the above description, the semi-static DL channel can include at least one of the following channels: PDCCH, SPS, PDSCH, CSI-RS, PRS, or PDCCH in Type-0 / 0A / 1 / 2 CSS set. The semi static UL channel can include at least one of the following channels: CG, SRS, SR, etc. The dynamic DL channel can include at least one of the following channels: PDSCH, CSI-RS, etc. The dynamic UL channel can include at least one of the following channels: PUSCH, PUCCH, SRS or PRACH triggered by PDCCH order.

[0102] This method also proposes method (s) to define several rules or indicators to determine data transmission / reception when SIB19 reception and other Uplink (UL) transmissions overlap in the time domain or when SIB19 reception and other UL transmissions overlap within Tx-to-Rx / Rx-to-Tx switching time. In the current specification, the UE needs to receive SIB19 to acquire timely satellite information. For HD-FDD UEs, due to collisions in Tx-Rx / Rx-Tx switching or transmission direction, some opportunities for SIB19 reception or some UL channel transmissions will be missed. Thus, the current rules for SIB19 reception and UL transmission are no longer suitable, and some enhancements are needed. The following methods can be considered:

[0103] In some embodiments, the more than one transmission include a System Information Block 19 (SIB19) transmission and an uplink (UL) transmission. A scheduling PDCCH related to SIB19 reception is set with a highest priority, and the collision solving rule includes: reserving the scheduling PDCCH of SIB19 transmission and dropping the UL transmission. The PDCCH (Physical Downlink Control Channel) (e.g., Common search space) related to SIB19 can be regarded as high priority, always monitoring PDCCH of SIB19, and dropping the overlapped UL channel / data transmission. With this method, the UE can always have the opportunity to monitor the signaling for SIB19 scheduling, ensuring that the parameters / information of NTN can be updated timely.

[0104] In some embodiments, the more than one transmission include a System Information Block 19 (SIB19) transmission and an uplink (UL) transmission. The method may further include: receiving a System Information-Radio Network Temporary Identifier (SI-RNTI) scrambled Downlink Control Information (DCI) for scheduling the SIB19. The corresponding collision solving rule includes: reserving the SIB19 transmission and dropping the UL transmission. A new SI-RNTI (System Information-Radio  Network Temporary Identifier) scrambled DCI for scheduling SIB19 within a related SI window can be introduced. When any UL channel / data overlaps with SIB19 reception in the time domain, then the UE needs to receive SIB19 and drop the corresponding UL channel / data. The new SI-RNTI can be any one in the range {FFF3-FFFB} .

[0105] In some embodiments, more than one transmission include a System Information Block 19 (SIB19) transmission and an uplink (UL) transmission. The method may further include: configured a pattern of SIB 19 to a UE via RRC, MAC-CE or DCI, where a pattern of SIB19 includes more than one SIB 19, within a pattern of SIB19, a set of SIB19 monitoring occasion can be setting reserved SIB 19 monitoring occasion, for a reserved SIB 19 monitoring occasion, the UE need to monitor the SIB19, and others UL channel / data transmission need to drop.

[0106] In some embodiments, the more than one transmission include a System Information Block 19 (SIB19) transmission and an uplink (UL) transmission. The SIB19 transmission is set with a highest priority, and the collision solving rule includes: reserving the SIB19 transmission and dropping the UL transmission. Setting SIB19 as the highest priority always ensures reception of SIB19 and dropping the UL channel / data. This way, the UE can always have the opportunity to receive SIB19, thereby ensuring that the parameters / information of NTN can be updated timely.

[0107] In some embodiments, the more than one transmission include a System Information Block 19 (SIB19) transmission and and a Msg1 or MsgA transmission or Random Access Procedure. The collision solving rule may include: reserving the Msg1 or MsgA transmission and dropping the SIB19 transmission. When the UL channel / data is Msg1 / MsgA, then the UE transmits Msg1 or MsgA and doesn't receive SIB19. This method reduces the access time for a UE.

[0108] FIG. 14 is a flowchart of a method for data transmission within a Radio Resource Management (RRM) restriction according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The method may be executed by a user equipment. As shown in FIG. 14, the method may include operations described in blocks S601 and S602. In S601, an uplink signaling is transmitted. In S602, data transmission or reception within RRM restriction is performed based on the uplink signaling.

[0109] Some embodiments of the present disclosure propose methods to support User Equipment (UE) assistance information to determine whether transmission / reception (Tx / Rx) can be performed within Radio Resource Management (RRM) measurement gap / restrictions, thereby potentially enhancing the capacity of Extended Reality (XR) services. In Release-18 (Rel-18) , to match the low latency and high data rate of XR service, enhanced Control guidance (eCG) has been introduced, thanks to the absence of Scheduling Request (SR) and Buffer Status Report (BSR) procedures. eCG entails multiple transmission occasions within the Configured Grant (CG) configuration utilized for multiple Transport Block (TB) transmission. Similarly, in Rel-19, to match the low latency and high data rate criteria, Rx / Tx enabling within RRM has been studied. For downlink (DL) traffic, the gNB can determine the actual traffic arrival time and packet size. Based on the gNB's scheduling, a trade-off between XR service and RRM measure can be achieved. However, for uplink (UL) traffic, the gNB may not know the actual packet size and packet delay budget if the UE cannot report the BSR timely. Furthermore, there  may not be sufficient time for a UE to report BSR and Packet Delay Budget (PDB) due to time constraints (e.g., resource-limited or frame structure) . Additionally, when CG configuration is used for XR services and the CG configuration is situated within an RRM measurement gap or SSB Measurement Timing Configuration (SMTC) , it becomes challenging for the gNB to determine whether to perform data transmission or measurement. Thus, UE assistance information is required.

[0110] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) or MAC-CE. and the UCI is a sequence based UCI without any bit. The operation of performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction may include: responsive to the UCI being positive, performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction. In some embodiments, the method may further include: determining a time offset between the UCI and the RRM restriction; wherein the UCI is received before the RRM restriction. That is, a new UpLink Control Information (UCI) can be used to notify whether the UE needs to occupy the time duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. The new UCI is sequence-based and contains no bit. A positive UCI implies that the UE wants to occupy the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction for data transmission. This leads to the skipping or de-activation of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and the UE performs data transmission / reception within the time duration of the skipped / de-activated measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. A negative UCI implies that the UE does not want to occupy the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction for data transmission. In this scenario, the UE performs RRM measurement. The UCI is transmitted before a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and a time offset between the UCI and the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction can be pre-defined, and it's determined based on the starting time of the measure gap / SMTC / restriction.

[0111] In some embodiments, the new UCI or MAC-CE can be used to activate / de-activate a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction or a set of measurement gaps / SMTC / restrictions, during a / a set of de-activation measurement gap / SMTC / restriction, Tx / Rx can be performed, during a / a set of activation measurement gap / SMTC / restriction, UE need to perform RRM measurement and drop data reception / transmission.

[0112] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) or MAC-CE, and the UCI is a sequence based UCI with one or two bits; the operation of performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction may include: responsive to a value of the one or two bits of the UCI indicating that the UE occupies the RRM restriction, performing the data transmission or reception within the occupied RRM restriction. Specifically, the UCI may be carried by Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) format 0 / 1. That is, a new UCI, which indicates whether the UE needs to occupy the time duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction may be introduced. This new UCI is sequence-based and consists of 1 or 2 bits. Taking 1 bit as an example, if the UCI indicates “1” , it signifies that the UE wants to occupy the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction for data transmission. Alternatively, when the UCI indicates “0” , it implies that the UE does not want to occupy the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction for data transmission, and in this case, the UE performs RRM measurement. The sequence-based UCI can be carried by Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH)  format 0 / 1.

[0113] An example of the mapping value for one UCI information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0 is illustrated in Table 3.

[0114] Table 3. Mapping of values for one UCI information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0

[0115] An example of mapping values for two UCI information bits to sequences for PUCCH format is illustrated in Tables 4 and 5.

[0116] Table 4. Mapping of values for two HARQ-ACK information bits to sequences for PUCCH format 0

[0117] Table 5. Mapping of values for two HARQ-ACK information bits to sequences for PUCCH format 0

[0118] In some embodiments, a new Uplink Control Information (UCI) is introduced to notify whether a User Equipment (UE) needs to occupy a portion of the time duration of a measurement gap /

[0119] SSB Measurement Timing Configuration (SMTC)  / restriction. This new UCI is sequence-based and can contain 1 or 2 bits. Taking 1 bit as an example, if the UCI indicates "1, " then the UE needs to occupy half of the time duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction (specifically, the first half) . In this case, the first half of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction needs to be skipped or deactivated, and the UE performs data transmission / reception within this first half. When the UCI indicates "0, " it implies that the UE does not need to occupy the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction for data transmission, and in this case, the UE performs RRM measurement within the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction.

[0120] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) and the UCI is configured to indicate occupation of a portion of the RRM restriction. The operation of performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction may include: based on a value of the UCI, performing the data transmission or reception within the portion of the RRM restriction. Specifically, the UCI is with a plurality of bits, and the plurality of bits are configured to indicate a plurality of transmission occasions within a Configured Grant (CG) configuration, and the operation of performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction may include: based on a value of the plurality of bits of the UCI, performing the data transmission or reception within corresponding one or more transmission occasions of the plurality of transmission occasions within the CG configuration. That is, A new UCI is introduced to notify whether the UE needs to occupy the time duration of a measurement  gap / SMTC / restriction. Additionally, this UCI can specify the detailed portion of the time duration of the measurement or used transmission occasions within a Configured Grant (CG) configuration. This new UCI can include multiple bits, and the actual occupied measurement gap / SMTC / restriction time duration can be indicated via a bitmap. The indication granularity can be a slot, milliseconds (ms) , or a set of symbols. For example, if the measurement gap is configured as 5ms or 5 slots, with a Subcarrier Spacing (SCS) of 15KHz, then a total of 5 bits can be used to indicate the actual occupied measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. The indication "11100" means the first 3 slot duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction is occupied by the UE for data transmission / reception, and the last 2 slot duration is not occupied, allowing the UE to use these 2 slots for RRM measurement. When a CG configuration with multiple transmission occasions is located within a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction or overlaps with a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction in the time domain, the UCI can be used to indicate the used transmission occasions (TOs) within a CG configuration. The UCI can indicate a TO index, from the first TO to the indicated TO within a CG configuration to be regarded as used TOs. The remaining TOs within the CG configuration can be regarded as unused TOs, and the UE needs to skip a portion of the time duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and perform CG transmission. For the remaining time duration of the measurement gap / SMTC / restriction, the UE can perform RRM measurement. A Measurement Gap Configuration (MeasGapConfig) and / or SSB_MTC configuration needs to be associated with a Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) , in other words, PUCCH resources need to be configured within a MeasGapConfig and / or SSB_MTC configuration.

[0121] Some embodiments of the present disclosure propose methods to support UE assistance information or gNB indication to determine whether Tx / Rx can be performed within RRM (Radio Resource Management) measurement gap / restrictions when DRX (Discontinuous Reception) is configured, thereby potentially enhancing the capacity of XR (Extended Reality) services. In Release 18 (R-18) , a non-integer periodicity of DRX has been introduced (e.g., 16.67ms, etc. ) to match the periodicity of XR services. Measurement gaps or SMTC (Supplementary Measurement Timing Configuration) can also be configured with a periodicity. Thus, when DRX on-duration time overlaps in the time domain with a measurement gap / SMTC, there are issues regarding gNB indication or UE assistance information to determine whether to perform measurement gap / SMTC or data Rx / Tx. When a measurement gap / SMTC and DRX on-duration timer overlap in the time domain, and the starting time of the measurement gap / SMTC is earlier than that of the DRX on-duration time, it poses the question of how the UE or gNB indicates whether to skip the measurement gap or not. Additionally, due to jitter, the traffic arrival time may not match the periodicity of C-DRX (Connected-Mode DRX) , thus facing similar issues. For instance, as depicted in FIG. 15, when measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and DRX on-duration time overlap in the time domain, and the starting time of the measurement gap / SMTC is earlier than the DRX on-duration time, issues arise. Specifically, within a DRX cycle's idle time, it's challenging to indicate, either by the UE or the gNB, whether to skip the measurement gap or not. Additionally, due to jitter, the traffic arrival time may not match the periodicity of C-DRX (Connected-Mode DRX) , thus presenting similar challenges.

[0122] In some embodiments, a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) mechanism is applied to the UE, and the method as shown in FIG. 14 may further include: receiving configuration of a monitoring time window, wherein the monitoring time window is within idle duration of the DRX; and receiving, from a base station, a notification signaling within the monitoring time window, wherein the notification signaling is configured to indicate whether data transmission is allowed within the RRM restriction. The idle duration is equivalent to the idle time of a DRX cycle. For the DL (Downlink) scenario, when DRX is configured for a UE for power saving, within the DRX idle time, the UE need not wake up to monitor DL signaling to notify whether Rx / Tx can be performed within a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. Signaling is required to notify whether Rx / Tx can be performed within a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. This signaling can be a group common DCI (Downlink Control Information) or sequence-based signaling, and is related to the configuration of measurement gap / SMTC / restriction or both measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and DRX. The UE only needs to monitor the signaling within a time window, which is situated before an overlapped measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and DRX on-duration timer. The time window can be configured by the gNB via RRC (Radio Resource Control) , MAC-CE (Medium Access Control-Control Element) , or DCI. The period from the first symbol of the time window to the first symbol of either the DRX on-duration timer or measurement gap / SMTC / restriction is equal to the length of the time window.

[0123] In some embodiments, a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) mechanism is applied to the UE, and the method as shown in FIG. 14 may further include: receiving configuration of a reporting time window, wherein the reporting time window is within idle duration of the DRX; and transmitting, to a base station, a reporting signaling within the reporting time window, wherein the reporting signaling is configured to notify whether data transmission is to be performed within the RRM restriction. The idle duration is equivalent to the idle time of a DRX cycle. For the UL (Uplink) scenario, when DRX is configured for a UE for power saving, within the DRX idle time, signaling is needed to notify whether Rx / Tx can be performed within a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction. This signaling can be MAC-CE or UCI (Uplink Control Information) , and is related to the configuration of measurement gap / SMTC / restriction or both measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and DRX. The UE only needs to transmit the signaling within a time window, which is located before an overlapped measurement gap / SMTC / restriction and DRX on-duration timer. The time window can be configured by the gNB via RRC, MAC-CE, or DCI. The duration from the first symbol of the time window to the first symbol of either the DRX on-duration timer or measurement gap / SMTC / restriction equals the length of the time window.

[0124] FIG. 16 is a flowchart of a method for data transmission within a Radio Resource Management (RRM) restriction according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. The method is executed by a base station. As shown in FIG. 16, the method may include operations described in blocks S701 and S702. In S701, an uplink signaling from a user equipment is received. In S702, data transmission or reception within RRM restriction is performed based on the uplink signaling. Operations of the method described with regard to FIG. 16 are similar to the method described with regard to FIG.  14. For simplicity and clarity, details of some of these operations will not be repeated herein.

[0125] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) and the UCI is a sequence based UCI without any bit; wherein the performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction comprises: responsive to the UCI being positive, performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction.

[0126] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) and the UCI is a sequence based UCI with one or two bits; wherein the performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction comprises: responsive to a value of the one or two bits of the UCI indicating that the UE occupies the RRM restriction, performing the data transmission or reception within the occupied RRM restriction.

[0127] In some embodiments, the uplink signaling is an Uplink Control Information (UCI) and the UCI is configured to indicate occupation of a portion of the RRM restriction; wherein the performing the data transmission or reception within the RRM restriction comprises: based on a value of the UCI, performing the data transmission or reception within the portion of the RRM restriction.

[0128] In some embodiments, a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) mechanism is applied to the UE, wherein the method further comprising: transmitting, to the UE, configuration of a monitoring time window, wherein the monitoring time window is within idle duration of the DRX; and transmitting, to the UE, a notification signaling within the monitoring time window, wherein the notification signaling is configured to indicate whether data transmission is allowed within the RRM restriction.

[0129] In some embodiments, a Discontinuous Reception (DRX) mechanism is applied to the UE, wherein the method further comprising: transmitting, to the UE, configuration of a reporting time window, wherein the reporting time window is within idle duration of the DRX; and receiving, from the UE, a reporting signaling within the reporting time window, wherein the reporting signaling is configured to notify whether data transmission is to be performed within the RRM restriction.

[0130] The present disclosure further provides some UCI multiplexing rules.

[0131] When the UCI which is used for notify whether Tx / Rx can be performed within a measurement gap / SMTC / restriction is configured and the UCI is a SR with or without one or multiple bits. When the UCI transmission is overlapped with others UCI transmission in time, then the rules for multiplexing UCI and SR is not suitable any more. Some enhanced method to handle of multiplexing UCI and SR is needed. The following scenarios and methods can be considered.

[0132] In Case 1, A PUCCH with negative (multiple bits) SR and at most 2 HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 0 in a slot. In this case, UE only transmit the HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH format 0 and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on HARQ-ACK. When a SR transmission occasion is overlapped with at most 2 HARQ-ACK information bits in a resources using PUCCH format 0 in time domain, the UE transmit HARQ-ACK information (sequence) only based on HARQ-ACK parameters and the gNB regard the SR is a negative SR.

[0133] In Case 2, A PUCCH with positive SR (multiple bits) and at most 2 HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 0 in a slot, in this case, both SR and HARQ-ACK have its cyclic  shift values, where the cyclic shift values can be pre-defined. Due to limited of cyclic shift values, the priority rules can be introduced for handing the case. The following alternatives can be considered.

[0134] In a first option, regard positive SR as high priority and the HARQ-ACK transmission as low priority, UE transit positive SR used the PUCCH format 0 for SR and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on positive SR configuration. In some embodiments, the HARQ-ACK is dropped or postpone the HARQ-ACK to the next (available) transmission occasion.

[0135] In a second option, regard HARQ-ACK transmission as high priority and the SR report as low priority, UE transmit HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH format 0 for HARQ-ACK and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on only HARQ-ACK report parameters. In some embodiments, the SR is dropped or postpone the SR report to the next (available) transmission occasion.

[0136] In a third option, regard HARQ-ACK transmission as high priority and the SR report as low priority (in this case, the SR is not carry buffer size or traffic type information any more, it can be fall back to general SR, which means the SR is just only to require UL resource and not to enable SR+PUSCH transmission. ) . UE transmit HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH format 0 for HARQ-ACK and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on SR.

[0137] In a fourth option, regard HARQ-ACK transmission as high priority and the SR report as low priority (in this case, the SR is not carry buffer size or traffic type information any more, it can be fall back to general SR, which means the SR is just only to require UL resource and not to enable SR+PUSCH transmission. UE transmit. ) . UE transmit HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH format 0 for SR and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on HARQ-ACK.

[0138] In a fifth option, regard HARQ-ACK transmission and SR report as the same priority, and introduces a new combination cyclic shift parameters for combining the SR and HARQ-ACK.

[0139] For 1 bit HARQ-ACK and 1 bit SR. a new table for one HARQ-ACK information bit and one SR information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0 is designed, each cyclic shift value can be indicates one combination of SR and HARQ-ACK information. For instances, as show in table 5. When the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =0, then means the HARQ-ACK is 0 and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =2, then means the HARQ-ACK is 0 and the SR is 1, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =6, then means the HARQ-ACK is 1 and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =7, then means the HARQ-ACK is 1 and the SR is 1. In some embodiments, the value of mcs in Table 6 can be configurable.

[0140] Table 6. Mapping of values for one HARQ-ACK information bit and one SR information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0

[0141] For 2 bit HARQ-ACK and 1 bit SR. a new table for 2 HARQ-ACK information bit and one SR information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0 is designed. Each cyclic shift value can be indicates one combination of SR and HARQ-ACK information. For instances, as show in table 6. When the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =0, then means the HARQ-ACK is {0, 0} and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =1, then means the HARQ-ACK is {0, 1} and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =2, then means the HARQ-ACK is {1, 0} and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =3, then means the HARQ-ACK is {0, 1} and the SR is 1, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =4, then means the HARQ-ACK is {1, 0} and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =5, then means the HARQ-ACK is {1, 0} and the SR is 1, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =6, then means the HARQ-ACK is {1, 1} and the SR is 0, when the sequence of combination of HARQ-ACK and SR is used mcs =7, then means the HARQ-ACK is {1, 1} and the SR is 1. In some embodiments, the value of mcs in Table 7 can be configurable.

[0142] Table 7. Mapping of values for one HARQ-ACK information bit and one SR information bit to sequences for PUCCH format 0

[0143] For up to 2 bits HARQ-ACK and N bits SR, a new table for 1~2 HARQ-ACK information bit and N SR information bits to sequences for PUCCH format 0 is designed. Each cyclic shift value can be indicates one combination of SR and HARQ-ACK information. In some embodiments, the value of mcs in the table can be configurable.

[0144] In a sixth option, UE transmits the PUCCH format 0 and corresponding information which have an early symbols. For instance, if the first symbol of PUCCH format 0 for HARQ-ACK is early than the PUCCH format 0 for SR, then UE transmits the HARQ-ACK, if the first symbol of PUCCH format 0 for HARQ-ACK is later than the PUCCH format 0 for SR, then UE transmits the SR.

[0145] In Case 3, a PUCCH with multiple bits SR information and at most 2 HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 0 with different priority in a slot, where the priority is configured by gNB. For the case the SR with high priority and the HARQ-ACK with low priority, then UE should be report SR to the gNB and drop the HARQ-ACK or postpone HARQ-ACK to the next (available) transmission occasion. For the case the HARQ-ACK with high priority and the SR with low priority, in this case the UE should be report HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH format 0 and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on only HARQ-ACK and drop the SR or postpone SR to the next (available) transmission occasion. In some embodiments, UE transmit HARQ-ACK used the PUCCH  format 0 and the cyclic shift parameter is determined based on a new parameters different from the only HARQ-ACK report parameters, with this way, the multiple bits SR is fall back to the positive SR, the SR is just indicate whether the UE have data to transmit or not and have not to indicate the extra information (buffer size information) any more. In this way, a positive SR and HARQ-ACK are reported to gNB.

[0146] In Case 4, for the case of a UE would transmit multiple bits SR in a resource using PUCCH format 0 and HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 1 in a slot, both of the SR and the HARQ-ACK are with same priority. The priority rules can be introduced for handing the case. The following alternatives can be considered.

[0147] In a first option, if the SR is a negative SR, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with HARQ-ACK information bits in the resources using PUCCH format 1. If the SR is a positive SR, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with SR bits in the resources using PUCCH format 0.

[0148] In a second option, whether UE reports SR or HARQ-ACK information is based on the first symbol of each PUCCH format, if the first symbol of PUCCH format 0 is early than PUCCH format 1, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with SR information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 0, if the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 is early than PUCCH format 0, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 1. If the first symbol of each PUCCH format is the same and UE transmit the information bits using a PUCCH format which have short symbols.

[0149] In Case 5, for the case of a UE would transmit multiple bits SR information in a resource using PUCCH format 1 and up to 2 HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 0 in a slot, the SR and the HARQ-ACK are with same priority. The priority rules can be introduced for handing the case, the following alternatives can be considered.

[0150] In a first option, if the SR is a negative SR, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with HARQ-ACK information bits in the resources using PUCCH format 0. With this way, the gNB regard UE have a negative SR.

[0151] In a second option, if the SR is a positive SR, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with SR bits in the resources using PUCCH format 1.

[0152] In a third option, a new cyclic shift value table can be designed to combine the SR and HARQ-ACK transmission, using PUCCH format 0 transmit the combination information.

[0153] In Case 6, for the case a UE would transmit multiple bits SR in a resource using PUCCH format 1 and at most two HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 1 in a slot. If the UE is transmit a negative SR, then UE transmits a PUCCH in the resource using PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK information. If the UE is transmit a positive SR, then UE transmits a PUCCH in the resource using PUCCH format 1 for SR information and  / or postpone the HARQ-ACK to the next (available) transmission occasion. In some embodiments, the UE transmits a PUCCH for SR or HARQ-ACK, which is based on the time location of the PUCCH. If the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK is early than PUCCH format 1 for SR, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with HARQ-ACK information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 1, as show in figure 10. The first symbol of PUCCH  format 1 for SR is symbol #3 and the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK is symbol #4 in a slot, and the UE transmit a PUCCH in the resource using PUCCH format 1 for SR.

[0154] FIG. 7 illustrates PUCCH format 1 with SR and HARQ-ACK are overlapped in time

[0155] If the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for SR is early than PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK, then UE transmits only a PUCCH with SR information bits in a resource using PUCCH format 1, as show in figure 11. The first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for SR is symbol #4 and the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK is symbol #3 in a slot, and the UE transmit a PUCCH in the resource using PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK.

[0156] FIG. 18 illustrates PUCCH format 1 with SR and HARQ-ACK are overlapped in time

[0157] If the first symbol of each PUCCH format is the same and UE transmit the information bits using a PUCCH format which have short symbols. As show in figure 12. The first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for SR and the first symbol of PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK is the same in a slot, and the length of PUCCH format 1 for SR is short than the PUCCH format 1 for HARQ-ACK, then UE transmit a PUCCH in the resource using PUCCH format 1 for SR.

[0163] ● SR+ UCI_x;

[0164] ● SR+HARQ-ACK+ UCI_x;

[0165] ● SR+HARQ-ACK+CSI+ UCI_x;

[0166] With this way, then the ambiguity for UCI multiplexing between gNB and UE can be avoid.

[0167] For UCI_x carry by PUSCH, then the UCI mapping order can be at least one of the following:
