Adapter for connecting and closing off a filling hose at the valve of a gas cylinder

Abstract

The invention relates to an adapter (100) for connecting and closing off a filling hose (400) at a valve (500) of a gas cylinder, comprising a housing (101) in which a valve pin (200) is longitudinally movably mounted, said valve pin having a peripheral elongated recess (204), and seals (205, 206) on both sides of said recess (204), surrounding the valve pin (200) and mounted in the housing (101), wherein the recess (204) can be moved into the region of a seal (205) for the connection of the filling hose (400) such that an annular through-opening (207) for a filling gas is formed between the recess (204) and the housing (101) to the valve (500) of the gas cylinder, and wherein the recess (204) can be moved between the seals (205, 206) in order to close off the filling hose (400), such that the through-opening (207) is closed by the valve pin (200). The invention also relates to a method for connecting and closing off a filling hose at a valve of a gas cylinder by means of said adapter and to the preferred use of the adapter.
