[0001] SET OF FLANGING ELEMENTS FOR PRE-INSULATED DUCTS

[0002] DESCRIPTION

[0003] The present patent concerns the ducting for ventilation, climate control and air- conditioning systems used for transporting and distributing air, and more specifically it concerns the elements used to support and fix the various ducting sections.

[0004] Aeraulic ducts are the parts of ventilation, climate control and air-conditioning systems used for transporting and distributing air. In general, in ventilation systems they are used to heat, cool, ventilate, dehumidify or sanitize any environment, both civil and industrial.

[0005] Currently, pre-insulated ducts are increasingly used as an alternative to insulated ducts made of galvanised sheet metal. Pre-insulated ducts are constituted by panels with a core of rigid, heat-insulating polyurethane foam covered with embossed aluminium on both sides.

[0006] This is due to the fact that the ducts and their special components can be produced very easily both in the factory and on site, and that it is no longer necessary to construct the duct first and then insulate it.

[0007] Each element of the duct is made by making V-shaped notches on a panel along the folding lines, folding the various parts in such a way as to obtain a duct with square or rectangular cross section or, if necessary, to obtain the various special components, and finally join said parts by gluing.

[0010] The subject of the present patent is a new set of joining elements for box-shaped preinsulated ducts comprising panels obtained through the expansion of synthetic insulating materials derived from petroleum, for example polyurethane foam.

[0011] One of the objects of the new set of joining elements is to facilitate the connection of consecutive sections of pre-insulated ducts.

Claims

CLAIMS1. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P), comprising a flat plate (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2) having a substantially flat, generically rectangular shape and provided with several holes (Af, Bf, B'f, B"f, C'f, C"f, Ef), characterized in that two of said flat plates, respectively referred to as inner plate (B1, C) and outer plate (B", C"), are intended to be arranged on the inner surface (P1) and on the outer surface (P") of a panel (Pp) of the duct (P) in proximity to or at the level of its edge (Pb), and wherein tightening elements or screws (Va, Vb) are inserted and screwed into holes (B"f, C"f, B'f, C'f) present in the outer plate (B", C") and in the corresponding inner plate (B', C) and respectively aligned with one another, pressing said inner plate (B', C) and said outer plate (B", C") against each other in such a way as to compress and restrain said panel (Pp) of the duct (P) in a stable manner.

Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to claim 1, characterized in that said plate (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2) comprises a centring and alignment notch (At, Bt, B , Bt", Ct, Et) located at the centre of one of its edges (Ab, Bb, Cb, Eb) and suited to facilitate the alignment between the inner plate (B', C) and the outer plate (B", C").

Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to claims 1, 2, characterized in that said plate (B,_B', B", C, C", El, E2) comprises alignment and contact projections (Ba, B'a, B"a, Ca, Ea) arranged on the edge (Bb, Cb, Eb) and wherein said alignment and contact projections (Ba,_B'a, B"a, Ca, Ea) are preferably asymmetrical with respect to said centring and alignment notch (Bt, B , Bt", Ct, Et).

4. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that said plate (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2) is provided with ribs.

Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to the preceding claims,characterized in that it comprises an element (C) with generically C-shaped cross section, whose upper part (C) and lower part (C") are each constituted by a flat plate (C, C") according to claim 1, and the intermediate part of said generically C-shaped cross section is constituted by one or more alignment and contact projections (Ca), and wherein said upper part (C) and lower part (C") are suited to be arranged on the inner surface (P1) and the outer surface (P") of a panel of the duct (P), and wherein said one or more alignment and contact projections (Ca) are suited to be arranged on the edge (Pb) of said panel of said duct (P).

6. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to claim 1, characterized in that said plate (A) is made of smooth or ribbed plastic and is provided with at least one preferably threaded hole and preferably, at the level of said hole, with a thickening collar.

7. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to claim 6, characterized in that said plate (A) comprises one or more pockets or compartments (T) for the insertion of one or more L-shaped plates.

Flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according to claim 1, characterized in that they comprise an angled plate (E) in a generic L-shape formed by two identical flat portions (El, E2) and a third flat portion (E3) interposed between said identical flat portions (El, E2), and wherein each flat portion (El, E2) is similar to the flat plate (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2) according to claims 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and wherein said flat portions (El, E2) are arranged at right angles to each other.

9. Flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according to claim 8, characterized in that each of said two flat portions (El, E2) of said angled plate (E) is provided with alignment and contact projections (Ea), centring and alignment notches (Et) and holes (Ef), similarly to said flat plate (A, B, B', B", C, C",El, E2).

10. Flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according toclaim 9, characterized in that said third flat portion (E3) of said angled plate (E) is substantially arranged at 135° with respect to said first two portions (El, E2).

11. Flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according to claims 8, 9, characterized in that said third flat portion (E3) of said angled plate (E) is provided with at least one central hole (Eo).

12. Flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according to claims 8, 9, 11, characterized in that said angled plate (E) comprises one or more pockets or compartments (T) for the insertion of one or more L-shaped plates (D), wherein at least one pocket or compartment (T) is positioned in said third portion (E3) of said angled plate (E) and at least one pocket or compartment (T) is positioned in each one of the two identical flat portions (El, E2) arranged at right angles to each other.

13. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) according to the preceding claims, characterized in that they comprise an L-shaped element (D) with generically L- shaped cross section, wherein: the first part (DI) of said L-shaped cross section is flat and is suited to be positioned so that it adheres to the outer surface of a plate (A, B, C, E) according to the preceding claims, the second part (D2) of said L-shaped cross section is flat, is orthogonal to said first part (DI), and is suited to be positioned orthogonal to the panel (Pp) and to the axis of the duct (P), and wherein said first part (DI) of said square plate (D) has at least one hole (Df) or one recess in a generically square or semicircular shape for attaching said first part (DI) to one of said plates (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2), while said second part (D2) of the square plate (D) is preferably provided with several holes (Do).

14. Set of flanging elements (A, B, C, D, E) for pre-insulated ducts (P) according to claim 13, characterized in that said fourth square plate (D) comprises alignmentand contact projections (Da) at the level of or in proximity to the edge (Db) between said first part (DI) and said second part (D2), so as to allow its correct positioning and alignment with said plates (A, B, B', B", C, C", El, E2).

15. Insulated ducting for ventilation, climate control and air conditioning for the transport and distribution of air, characterized in that it comprises supporting and fixing elements for the various ducting sections, according to one or more of the preceding claims.
