Abstract

The proposed invention relates to filter cigarettes. The proposed filter cigarette comprises a rod-shaped tobacco portion, which is connected at one end to a filter. [0004] The invention relates to the production of cigarettes, in particular to filter cigarettes.

[0006] In practice, there are widely known "classic" filter cigarettes basically representing a paper cylinder with crushed and pressed smoking tobacco contained inside, and a filter connected to one end thereof. In this case, regardless of the used filter material or the combination of such materials and the structure of the filter, the filter (absorbing) materials or combination thereof are wrapped in tipping paper and have a length of 15 to 22 mm.

[0007] Furthermore, there are known conventional cigarettes having a tobacco portion made in the form of a rod and connected at one end to a filter- mouthpiece with a total length of 25 to 35 mm, where the length of the mouthpiece is 5 to 7 mm [1].

[0008] The closest technical solution to the proposed filter cigarette is a thin cigarette comprising a tobacco portion in the form of a rod wrapped in cigarette paper and connected at one end to a filter. The filter comprises a filter element on the tobacco portion side and a filter element on the smoking portion side.

[0009] The cigarette has a diameter of 4 to 7 mm and releases about 1 mg of condensate or no more than 0.2 mg of nicotine with smoke. The filter is characterized in that the full length thereof is approximately 25 to 40 mm, while the filter element on the tobacco portion side is approximately 10 to 25 mm. According to another design option of the known cigarette, the filter has an additional filter element located between the two filter elements, comprising carbon and made approximately 5 to 15 mm long [2]. Regardless of some design features of the above- mentioned known cigarettes, as well as the degree of reduction of the amount of condensate or nicotine in the passing smoke, known cigarettes have certain drawbacks that cause discomfort associated with hygiene and ease of use for smokers. In particular, the relatively small size of the filter of known cigarettes does not provide for sufficient cooling of the smoke inhaled by the smoker, which is not conductive to reducing the condensate content, and therefore the nicotine content contained in the inhaled smoke. As a result, this also does not help to reduce the harmful effects of cigarette smoke on the smoker's body.

[0010] Moreover, when smoking cigarettes with a relatively short filter, the smoker's fingers holding the cigarette are close to the burning portion of the cigarette, come into contact with the cigarette smoke, becoming enveloped in the condensate contained therein, whereby they turn yellow and become saturated with a specific tobacco smell.

[0012] The objective and technical effect of the invention are to ensure hygienic and comfortable use of a filter cigarette, as well as to reduce harmful effects of a process of smoking and cigarette smoke on the smoker's body.

[0013] The solution to this problem and the technical effect are achieved by the fact that a filter cigarette, having a rod- shaped tobacco portion, which is connected at one end to the filter, has a total length of 100 to 125 mm, and the filter comprises at least two segments, while the ratio of the total length of the filter to the length of the tobacco portion is from 0.67 to 1.5, and the free segment at the end of the filter is made in the form of a tube with rigid walls, which length is at least 8% of the total length of the filter.

[0014] The above design of the filter cigarette provides hygienic and comfortable use of the filter cigarette and reduce harmful effects of smoking on the smoker's body for the following reasons: due to the long length of the cigarette from 100 to 125 mm, the increased length of the filter (the ratio of the total length of the filter to the length of the tobacco portion is 0.67-1.5) and the presence of a free end portion of the filter in the form of a tube with rigid walls with a length of at least 8% of the total length of the filter, the temperature of the smoke inhaled by the user is significantly reduced, which leads to a decrease in the amount of condensate transferred to the user (smoker) with cigarette smoke, and, consequently, to a decrease in the nicotine content, which in turn leads to a decrease in the harmful effects of smoking on the smoker's body.

A filter cigarette comprising a rod-shaped tobacco portion (1) connected at one end to a filter (2) and having a total length of 100 to 125 mm, wherein the filter (2) comprises at least two segments, a ratio of a total length of the filter (2) to a length of the tobacco portion (1) is from 0.67 to 1.5, and a free segment (3) at an end of the filter (2) is made in a form of a tube with rigid walls, which length is at least 8% of the total length of the filter (2), characterized in that the rigid walls of the tube are covered with foil from outside.

2. The filter cigarette according to claim 1, characterized in that the free segment (3) at the end of the filter (2) and the segment (4) adjacent to it are made in a form of a single element or separate elements.

3. The filter cigarette according to claim 1, characterized in that a wall thickness of the tube with rigid walls is at least 1.1 mm.

4. The filter cigarette according to claim 1, characterized in that the rigid walls of the tube comprise acetate fiber.

5. The filter cigarette according to claim 1, characterized in that the filter (2) comprises a monoacetate segment (4).
