Abstract
Description
Hollow segment for flavored product and flavored product
[0001] The present invention relates to a hollow segment for a flavored product and to a flavored product.
[0002] For example, Patent Document 1 discloses that an adsorbent material such as activated carbon is applied or provided on the hollow inner peripheral surface of a filter element.
[0003] For example, when a sheet containing an adsorbent is formed into a cylindrical shape and placed in a flavored product, the sheet is expected to have higher stiffness and lower moldability than paper such as wrappers commonly used in flavored products.
[0004] International Publication No. 2018 / 065191

[0008] Preferred embodiments will now be described with reference to the drawings.
[0009] 1A, a flavor inhalation system 1 according to this embodiment includes a non-combustion-heating type flavor product product 10a and a heating device 100 that heats mainly flavor elements 12 (described later) of the flavor product product 10a. The non-combustion-heating type flavor product product 10a and the heating device 100 are preferably used together as the flavor inhalation system 1, and are also preferably distributed together.
[0010] The heated flavor product 10a is formed in a cylindrical rod shape and includes a flavor element 12, a cooling hollow segment (a hollow segment for the flavor product) 14, a filter segment 16, and tipping paper 18. In this embodiment, the hollow segment (cooling segment) 14 is disposed between the flavor element 12 and the filter segment 16.
[0011] The flavor element 12 is formed, for example, in the shape of a cylindrical rod. The flavor element 12 has a flavor raw material 12a and a wrapper 12b that covers the flavor raw material 12a. The flavor raw material 12a may be a tobacco rod containing a tobacco material. The tobacco material may be composed of, for example, cut tobacco, shredded tobacco sheets, powder, granules, etc. When the flavor raw material 12a of the flavor element 12 is heated to an appropriate temperature, the flavor components impregnated in the flavor raw material 12a of the flavor element 12 volatilize and vaporize.
[0012] The base paper used for the wrapper 12b is not limited, and may be made of cellulose fiber, for example. Such cellulose fiber may be plant-derived, chemically synthesized, or a mixture of these. Plant-derived fibers include pulp such as flax fiber, wood fiber, and seed fiber. Unbleached, colored pulp may be used, but bleached pulp bleached with a bleaching agent such as an oxidizing agent or a reducing agent is preferred to achieve a white, clean appearance.
[0013] The lower limit of the basis weight of the wrapper 12b is preferably 30 g / m 2 More preferably, 35 g / m 2 More preferably, it is 40 g / m 2 The upper limit is preferably 65 g / m 2 or less, more preferably 50 g / m 2 The lower limit of the basis weight of the tip paper is preferably 20 g / m 2 More preferably, it is 25 g / m or more. 2 More preferably, it is 30 g / m 2 The upper limit is preferably 50 g / m 2 or less, more preferably 45 g / m 2 More preferably 40 g / m or less 2 The basis weight can be measured by the method specified in JIS P8124.
[0014] The wrapper 12b may be made of paper or nonwoven fabric, or may be made of multiple layers that perform a function different from that of paper or nonwoven fabric, such as a coating layer that forms the inner surface of the wrapper 12b.
[0015] An example of the flavor element 12 is a tobacco rod containing tobacco material as a flavor raw material 12a. The flavor element (tobacco rod) 12 is provided on the upstream side of the hollow segment 14.
[0016] The hollow segment 14 is heated by the flavor element 12, and the flavor components volatilized by the flavor element 12 are cooled and aerosolized.
[0017] The hollow segment 14 includes a paper tube 14a and a tube containing an adsorbent (hereinafter referred to as an adsorbent-containing tube) 14b.
[0018] The cardboard tube 14a is formed by rolling a paper sheet into a cylindrical shape. 2 ~300g / m 2 The paper tube 14a may be formed by stacking two paper sheets and rolling them into a cylindrical shape. In this case, the paper of 80 g / m 2 ~150g / m 2 Alternatively, a stack of paper sheets may be used.
[0019] As shown in Figures 1A and 2, the adsorbent-containing tube 14b comprises a hollow tube 22 in which an adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 is formed in a cylindrical shape, a filler material 24 disposed concentrically around the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22, and a wrapper 26 wrapped around the outside of the filler material 24.
[0020] The adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 forming the hollow tube 22 is formed by, for example, mixing the adsorbent with paper and / or nonwoven fabric. Examples of enlarged photographs of the sheet portion 32 taken with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) are shown in Figures 3A and 3B. Both Figures 3A and 3B show the sheet portion 32 after platinum deposition for two minutes, enlarged 800 times at an applied voltage of 10 kV. Figure 3A shows an example in which a medium-activated activated carbon is used as the adsorbent for the sheet portion 32, while Figure 3B shows an example in which a highly activated activated carbon is used as the adsorbent for the sheet portion 32. In Figures 3A and 3B, granular objects are attached to the fibrous material. The granular objects are the adsorbent.
[0021] The adsorbent contained in the sheets 321, 322 (see FIG. 4 ) of the sheet portion 32 forming the hollow tube 22 is preferably a granular material capable of adsorbing a portion of particles suspended in the gas, such as components generated from the flavor product 10a. Examples of adsorbents include activated carbon, hydrotalcite, molecular sieves, clay, ion exchange resins, activated alumina, silica gel, meerschaum, oxidation catalysts, mesoporous silica, zeolites, metal oxides, cellulose acetate tow beads or pellets, polyvinyl acetate beads, polyethylene beads, polypropylene beads, menthol crystals, rock salt crystals, crystalline sugar, cyclodextrin particles, corundum particles, quartz crystals, metal beads (e.g., copper or stainless steel), microcrystalline cellulose particles, pumice, and agglomerated calcium carbonate. Of course, adsorbents other than those listed above may also be used. That is, an example of the sheets 321, 322 of the sheet portion 32 is an activated carbon sheet containing activated carbon as an adsorbent.
[0022] The particle size of the adsorbent particles is not limited, but the average particle size is preferably 5 μm to 150 μm, more preferably 10 μm to 100 μm. The average particle size is measured by image particle size distribution measurement.
[0023] The particle size of activated carbon is generally about 250 μm to 600 μm, but it is preferable to form the activated carbon with an average particle size smaller than this. The particle size of activated carbon is preferably about 100 μm, for example.
[0024] The amount of particles of the adsorbent in the sheet portion 32 is expressed as the amount per unit area of the sheet portion 32, and if this amount is too small, a satisfactory adsorption effect cannot be obtained. 2 The lower limit is preferably 40 g / m 2 From the viewpoint of ease of handling of the sheet portion 32, the upper limit is preferably 80 g / m 2 More preferably, 60 g / m 2 It is preferable that the following exists:
[0025] The surface area of activated carbon as an adsorbent is preferably 500 m 2 / g to 3000m 2 / g, more preferably 700m 2 / g~2500m 2 The surface area of the adsorbent is the BET specific surface area, which is measured by the nitrogen adsorption method.
[0026] The adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 forming the hollow tube 22 is formed, for example, by forming a single layer of adsorbent-containing sheets or by stacking multiple layers. Here, as shown in FIG. 4 , the sheet portion 32 is formed of two layers. For example, an adhesive 34 is preferably applied to the entire outer peripheral surface of the inner sheet 321. The inner peripheral surface of the outer sheet 322 is preferably bonded to the outer peripheral surface of the inner sheet 321 with the adhesive 34. The ends 321 a of the inner sheets 321 and the ends 322 a of the outer sheets 322 are positioned at positions offset from each other in the circumferential direction of the sheet portion 32.
[0027] The thickness of each of the sheets 321 and 322 is preferably 100 to 300 μm, and more preferably 150 to 250 μm.
[0028] 4, the ends 321a of the inner sheets 321 face each other. The ends 322a of the outer sheets 322 face each other. The outer sheets 322 are disposed on the outside of the ends 321a of the inner sheets 321 via adhesive 34. The inner sheets 321 are disposed on the inside of the ends 322a of the outer sheets 322 via adhesive 34. Therefore, the sheet portion 32 having the inner sheets 321 and the outer sheets 322 can easily maintain a circular shape.
[0029] Although not shown, the ends 321 a of the inner sheets 321 may be overlapped and bonded together with the adhesive 34. Similarly, the ends 322 a of the outer sheets 322 may be overlapped and bonded together with the adhesive 34.
[0030] In this way, the sheet portion 32 is formed into a cylindrical shape as the hollow tube 22. At this time, the sheet portion 32 containing the adsorbent is not gathered, so that the particulate adsorbent (see FIGS. 3A and 3B ) is less likely to fall off from the sheet portion 32 than when gathered.
[0031] The adhesive 34 is a harmless water-based adhesive, for example, a vinyl acetate resin emulsion.
[0032] The water-based adhesive is an adhesive that hardens when the water in the adhesive evaporates. The water-based adhesive contains one of ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer resin (EVA), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), and starch paste, or a mixture of at least two of EVA, PVA, CMC, and starch paste. In other words, the water-based adhesive includes a water-based paste that hardens when the water contained in it evaporates.
[0033] The same applies to adhesives used in wrappers 12b, 16b, 26, 36 and tipping paper 18, which will be described later.
[0034] The adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 may be harder than the paper typically used for the flavored product 10a due to the presence of the adsorbent, and therefore it may be difficult to form the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 into a nearly perfect circle.
[0035] The flattening ratio of the end face of the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 is preferably 0.03 to 0.1, or even smaller. In other words, the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 is preferably formed to have a high degree of circularity. The flattening ratio of the hollow tube 22 is calculated by (a-b) / a, where a is the horizontal length a and b is the vertical length b, both of which pass through the central axis C of the hollow tube 22 as shown in FIG. 5. Here, the horizontal length a is determined so that the horizontal length a is the longest.
[0036] 2, the filler 24 disposed on the outside of the hollow tube 22 is made of a paper material such as pulp, a nonwoven fabric, or the like. That is, as an example, the filler 24 is made of paper or a nonwoven fabric. The filler 24 may be made of, for example, plant fibers such as cotton, hemp, Manila hemp, palm, or rush; animal fibers such as wool or cashmere; regenerated cellulose fibers such as rayon; or a combination thereof.
[0037] On the other hand, the filler 24 is plasticizer-free, because plasticizers deactivate absorbents such as activated carbon. An example of a plasticizer is triacetin.
[0038] Generally, plasticizers are used when forming ordinary filter media such as acetate tow into a rod shape, but are not used when using paper filters that use paper as the filter media. For this reason, as in the present embodiment, no plasticizer is added to the paper filler 24. Furthermore, no plasticizer is added to the nonwoven fabric filler 24.
[0039] In this embodiment, the filler 24 is formed, for example, in a sheet shape, and the sheet-like material is crimped. For this reason, it is difficult for the filler 24 alone to maintain its shape as a rod with a diameter similar to that of the flavored product 10a, and a wrapper 26 may be required around the outer periphery of the filler 24. The wrapper 26 forms the cross section of the hollow segment 14 into a substantially cylindrical shape that is closer to a perfect circle. The wrapper 26 has a configuration similar to that of the wrapper 12b, for example. Note that the wrapper 26 only needs to maintain the outer shape of the filler 24 as perfectly circular as possible, i.e., it only needs to maintain the outer diameter of the filler 24, and a coating layer may not be necessary.
[0040] Therefore, the hollow segment 14 can be formed into a substantially cylindrical shape by disposing the filler 24 to an appropriate thickness on the outside of the hollow tube 22 and disposing the wrapper 26 on the outside of that. Even if the cross section of the hollow tube 22 is not perfectly circular, the amount and density of the filler 24 can be adjusted for each position on the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 to maintain the outer periphery of the hollow segment 14 close to a perfect circle when the filler 24 is wrapped around the wrapper 26. Furthermore, by fixing the filler 24 to the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 with adhesive 23, the outer periphery of the hollow segment 14 can be easily maintained close to a perfect circle. That is, it is preferable that at least a portion of the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 and the filler 24 are bonded with adhesive 23. The flattening at the end face of the outer periphery of the hollow segment 14 (the outer periphery of the wrapper 26) is smaller than the flattening at the end face of the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22. The flattening ratio at the end face of the outer peripheral portion of the hollow segment 14 (the outer peripheral portion of the wrapper 26) is preferably 0 to 0.03.
[0041] 1A , the filter segment 16 has, for example, a mouthpiece. The filter segment 16 has a mouthpiece provided downstream of the hollow segment 14. The filter segment 16 has a filter 116a including a filter portion 16a, such as a paper filter or acetate tow filter, and a wrapper 16b that wraps around the outer periphery of the filter portion 16a.
[0042] At this time, the outer diameters of the flavor elements 12, the hollow segments 14, and the filter segments 16 (filters 116a) are made to be approximately the same.
[0043] The tipping paper 18 is a paper used to connect the flavor element 12, the hollow segment 14, and the filter segment 16. The tipping paper 18 is preferably the same as the wrappers 12b, 26, and 16b.
[0044] The tipping paper 18 is wrapped around the flavor element 12, the hollow segment 14, and the filter segment 16. Therefore, the tipping paper 18 is wrapped around the tube 14b containing the adsorbent of the hollow segment 14 and the paper tube 14a.
[0045] The flavored product 10a is provided with a vent 20 that allows air to be drawn into the hollow segment 14 when the user draws on the mouthpiece.
[0046] Here, as shown in Figure 1B, as a comparative example 1 of the flavored product 10a according to this embodiment, an example is shown in which the hollow segment 14 does not have the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, and the filter segment 16 has a first filter 116a and a second filter 116b.
[0047] The first filter 116a is the same as the filter 116a of the filter segment 16 of the flavored product 10a according to this embodiment.
[0048] The second filter 116b is connected to the hollow segment 14 on the side opposite to the side on which the flavor element 12 is disposed. The second filter 116b is formed, for example, from a hollow paper sheet or a nonwoven fabric sheet. The second filter 116b may also be formed, for example, from a hollow acetate filter.
[0049] 1C, a flavored product 10c is shown as Comparative Example 2 of the flavored product 10a according to this embodiment, in which the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 is not provided.
[0050] The flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 have the same or substantially the same overall length and outer diameter as the flavor product 10a of the present embodiment. The overall length is 60 mm, and the outer diameter is 7 mm.
[0051] In addition, the total length, outer diameter, and composition of the flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 are the same as or approximately the same as the total length, outer diameter, and composition of the flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10a of this embodiment.
[0052] The overall length, outer diameter, and composition of the filter portion 16a including the mouth end of the filter segment 16 of the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 were the same or approximately the same as the overall length, outer diameter, and composition of the filter portion 16a including the mouth end of the filter segment 16 of the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment. Here, the overall length of the filter portion 16a was 8 mm. An acetate tow filter was used for the filter portion 16a.
[0053] The heating device 100 has a recess 102 into which the flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10a are placed, and a heater 104 that heats the flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10a while they are placed in the recess 102.
[0054] The action (method of use) of the flavored product 10a according to this embodiment will be described in comparison with the flavored product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavored product 10c of Comparative Example 2.
[0055] The flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10a are inserted into the recess 102 of the heating device 100, and the heater 104 heats, for example, the outer periphery of the flavor element 12. At this time, it is preferable that the heater 104 heats almost the entire outer periphery of the flavor element 12. The flavor element 12 is then heated to a temperature sufficient to generate a vapor component from the flavor raw material 12a of the flavor product 10a. The heating temperature at this time may be 250°C or higher and 400°C or lower. The heating temperature of the flavor elements 12 of the flavor product 10a is not particularly limited, but is preferably 400°C or lower, more preferably 150°C or higher and 400°C or lower, and even more preferably 200°C or higher and 350°C or lower.
[0056] The vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a by heating are inhaled by the user through the mouthpiece of the filter portion 16a, passing through the paper tube 14a, the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, and the filter segment 16. In this way, when the user inhales through the mouthpiece, the air taken in from outside the flavor product 10a through the vent 20 cools the flavor components and the like of the flavor raw material 12a, facilitating the aerosolization of these components.
[0057] The hollow segment 14 efficiently cools and aerosolizes the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a before they reach the filter segment 16. Therefore, the hollow segment 14 promotes aerosolization of the flavor components from the flavor raw material 12a before they reach the filter segment 16. Furthermore, the hollow segment 14 allows vapor components generated from the aerosol-containing flavor raw material 12a to pass through more easily than the filter segment 16. Therefore, by using the hollow segment 14, it is possible to promote aerosolization of the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a while increasing the delivery amount of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a.
[0058] In the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment, the adsorbent is incorporated into the wall surface formed by the sheet portion 32 of the hollow tube 22 of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14. The adsorbent is present only on the wall surface of the hollow tube 22, but is present within the flow path of the components generated from the flavor raw material 12a. Therefore, in the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment, some of the components, particularly the vapor components, generated from the flavor raw material 12a are adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, toward the filter segment 16, and are inhaled by the user through the filter segment 16 via the mouthpiece. Therefore, in the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment, some of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a are adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, thereby imparting a different smoking taste to the user compared to a case in which the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is not used.
[0059] 6, a sensory evaluation (smoking taste evaluation) was conducted on the stimulation and smoke volume experienced by users using a flavored product 10a according to the present embodiment shown in FIG. 1A, a flavored product 10b according to Comparative Example 1 shown in FIG. 1B, and a flavored product 10c according to Comparative Example 2 shown in FIG. 1C. The evaluation standard was the flavored product 10b according to Comparative Example 1 (for Mevius Cold Menthol Ploom X) shown in FIG. 1B. Ten evaluators were involved.
[0060] The flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 are used in the same manner as the flavor product 10a of the present embodiment. That is, the heater 104 of the heating device 100 heats the outer periphery of the flavor element 12 of the flavor product 10b and the flavor product 10c. The vapor components generated from the flavor raw materials 12a of the flavor product 10b and the flavor product 10c by heating are inhaled by the user through the paper tube 14a, the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, and the filter segment 16 via the mouthpiece of the filter segment 16.
[0061] In the sensory evaluation of the flavor product 10a, the flavor product 10b, and the flavor product 10c, the stimulation received from the flavor product 10b when the user appropriately used (inhaled) the flavor product 10b was given a score of 3. If the user felt that the stimulation was less than the stimulation received when using the flavor product 10b, the score was 2, and if the stimulation was even less than that, the score was 1.
[0062] In addition, in the sensory evaluation of the flavored product 10a, the flavored product 10b, and the flavored product 10c, the amount of smoke received from the flavored product 10b when the user properly used (inhaled) the flavored product 10b was given a score of 3. If the user felt that the amount of smoke was less than the amount of smoke felt when using the flavored product 10b, that was given a score of 2, and if the user felt that the amount of smoke was even less, that was given a score of 1.
[0063] When the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment was used, the irritation was reduced compared to when the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 (reference) was used, and it was evaluated as being milder. Furthermore, when the flavor product 10a was used, the irritation was also reduced compared to when the flavor product 10c was used, and it was evaluated as being milder. Therefore, the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment passes the vapor component generated from the flavor raw material 12a inside the hollow tube 22 having the adsorbent, and thus the irritation experienced by the user can be reduced compared to when the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 are used, both of which do not have an adsorbent in the path of the vapor component generated from the flavor raw material 12a.
[0064] The sheet portion 32 of the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment can reliably contact a portion of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a as they travel toward the mouthpiece, even though the adsorbent is present only on the wall surface of the path along which the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a travel. Therefore, the flavor product 10a has a hollow segment 14 with an adsorbent disposed in the path along which the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a travel, thereby providing the user with a sufficient change in smoking taste.
[0065] Furthermore, when the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment was used, the amount of smoke was evaluated to be reduced compared to when the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 (reference) was used, but the amount of reduction was evaluated to be small. When the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment was used, the amount of smoke was evaluated to be reduced compared to when the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 was used, but the amount of reduction was evaluated to be small. Therefore, when the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment was used, the amount of smoke was evaluated to be the same as when the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 and the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 were used. Therefore, when the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment was used, the draw response could be maintained unchanged compared to when the flavor product 10b of Comparative Example 1 or the flavor product 10c of Comparative Example 2 was used.
[0066] 2, when forming the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14, granular adsorbent is dispersed in the sheets 321, 322 of the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32, resulting in higher rigidity and lower roundness than simple paper, etc. In the hollow segment 14 of this embodiment, the filler 24 is disposed on the outer periphery of the sheet portion 32 of the hollow tube 22, and the wrapper 26 is disposed on the outer periphery of the filler 24, thereby improving the roundness of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 of the flavored product 10a.
[0067] Furthermore, the adsorbent-containing sheets 321, 322 that form the hollow tube 22 are not subjected to crimping or other processes, thereby suppressing processes that apply loads to the sheets 321, 322. This prevents the granular adsorbent from falling off the sheets 321, 322 during the manufacture of the hollow segments 14 and the flavor product 10a. Therefore, the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment allows for easier cleaning of the manufacturing equipment for the hollow segments 14 and the flavor product 10a compared to when the sheets 321, 322 are crimped. Furthermore, the frequency of cleaning the manufacturing equipment for the hollow segments 14 and the flavor product 10a can be reduced. This allows for the production of more flavor product 10a per unit time.
[0068] Furthermore, the adsorbent-containing sheets 321, 322 that form the hollow tube 22 are not crimped, and therefore, for example, when the flavor product 10a is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10a to various regions, some of the granular adsorbent may fall off the sheets 321, 322. Even in this case, when the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10a to various regions, the granular adsorbent is prevented from falling off the sheets 321, 322, compared to a flavor product (not shown) in which the sheets 321, 322 are crimped, etc. Therefore, by using the flavor product 10a according to this embodiment, deterioration of the appearance of the flavor product 10a can be suppressed.
[0069] Furthermore, when hollow tube 22 is formed into a tube, a strong repulsive force is generated, and if ends 321a, 322a of hollow tube 22 are simply fixed to sheets 321, 322, respectively, with adhesive 34, there is a risk that the strong repulsive force will cause the adhesive to peel off. In this embodiment, as a risk hedge, filler 24 is placed on the outer periphery of hollow tube 22, and a wrapper 26 is further placed on the outer periphery of that to form adsorbent-containing tube 14b. By forming adsorbent-containing tube 14b in this manner, it is possible to more easily form the outer shape into a perfect circle than when hollow tube 22 is used alone, and to maintain a state close to a perfect circle.
[0070] It should be noted that flavorings and the like can be added to the filler 24 or wrapper 26, i.e., nonwoven fabric or paper.
[0071] In this embodiment, an example in which activated carbon is used as the adsorbent has been described. However, a mixture of multiple adsorbents with different properties, such as activated carbon and hydrotalcite, may also be used. In this case, the flavored product 10a according to this embodiment can achieve the different effects of each adsorbent.
[0072] (Modifications) Modifications of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b will now be described.
[0073] As shown in Fig. 4, in this embodiment, an example has been described in which sheets 321 and 322 each containing an adsorbent are stacked on top of each other in the hollow tube 22. As shown in Fig. 7A, the outer sheet 322 of the hollow tube 22 shown in Fig. 4 may be a paper wrapper 36.
[0074] For example, a harmless adhesive 34 such as a water-based adhesive or glue is applied between the outer peripheral surface of the sheet 321 disposed on the inside and the inner peripheral surface of the wrapper 36, thereby maintaining the shape of the sheet portion 32 and covering the outside with the wrapper 36. In Fig. 7A, an example is shown in which the ends 36a of the wrappers 36 do not overlap but face each other. Of course, it is also preferable for the ends 36a of the wrappers 36 in Fig. 7A to overlap each other.
[0075] As shown in FIG. 2, it is preferable that a filler 24 is placed on the outside of the hollow tube 22 shown in FIG. 7A, and a wrapper 26 is further placed on the outside of that to form the adsorbent-containing tube 14b.
[0076] Alternatively, if hollow tube 22 as shown in Figure 7A is used, filler material 24 is not necessarily required. If wrapper 36 forms the outermost circumference of adsorbent-containing tube 14b, it may be the same as wrapper 26 described above, for example.
[0077] That is, the hollow segment 14 is provided downstream of the flavor element 12, and the sheet portion 32 containing the adsorbent is formed as a cylindrical tube containing the adsorbent. In this case, it is preferable that the wrapper 36 provided directly on the outer periphery of the sheet portion 32 serves as the outer periphery. Therefore, in this case, the filler 24 is not necessary.
[0078] On the other hand, the flattening ratio at the end face of the outer peripheral portion (outer peripheral portion of the wrapper 36) of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b that does not use such a filler 24 is preferably 0.03 to 0.1 or less.
[0079] Furthermore, if the adsorbent is activated carbon, the outer peripheral portion of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b (the outer peripheral portion of the wrapper 36) that does not use the filler 24 may have a sheet 321, which may be black, for example, that may be visible through the wrapper 36 and the tipping paper 18 to the user of the flavored product 10a. In such a case, the appearance of the flavored product 10a may be affected. For this reason, in order to prevent the outer peripheral surface of the sheet 321 from being visible, the wrapper 36 preferably has an opacity of, for example, 80% or more. Alternatively, the combined opacity of the wrapper 36 and the tipping paper 18 preferably is, for example, 90% or more.
[0080] In the flavor product 10a having the hollow tube 22 shown in Figure 7A, regardless of whether the adsorbent-containing tube 14b has a filler 24 or not, a portion of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a is adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, thereby providing the user with a change in smoking taste compared to when the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is not present.
[0081] The example shown in FIG. 7B is a modified example of the hollow tube 22 shown in FIGS. 4 and 7A.
[0082] As shown in Figure 7B, the hollow tube 22 of the hollow segment 14 may have, for example, a spirally wound adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32. In this case, as in the example shown in Figure 4, the hollow tube 22 of the hollow segment 14 preferably has a double structure. It is also preferable that the ends 341 of the sheets 323 and the ends 342 of the sheets 324 of the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 are arranged without any steps. It is also preferable that the ends 341 of the sheets 323 and the ends 342 of the sheets 324 of the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 in Figure 7B are overlapped.
[0083] Although not shown, it is also preferable that the wrapper 36 shown in Fig. 7A be disposed on the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22 shown in Fig. 7B. In this case, by disposing the wrapper 36 on the outer periphery of the hollow tube 22, the hollow tube 22 shown in Fig. 7B is also preferably used as a part of the hollow segment 14 without the filler material 24 and wrapper 26 shown in Fig. 2.
[0084] Of course, it is also preferred that a filler material 24 be placed on the outside of the hollow tube 22 shown in FIG. 7B, and a wrapper 26 be placed on the outside of that.
[0085] The example shown in FIG. 7C is a modified example of the hollow tube 22 shown in FIGS. 4, 7A, and 7B.
[0086] As shown in Figure 7C, the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 of the hollow tube 22 of the hollow segment 14 has an adsorbent-containing sheet 325 fixed to the inside of the sheet 321 shown in Figure 7A by, for example, adhesive 343. The sheet 325 is formed, for example, in a substantially S-shape to increase the surface area while suppressing crimping. Therefore, the sheet 325 can increase the contact area with the vapor component generated from the flavor raw material 12a, and is provided as an adjustment portion that adjusts the surface area of the sheet portion 32 to increase it. Therefore, an adjustment portion that adjusts the surface area of the sheet portion 32 to increase it is provided inside the hollow tube 22.
[0087] The adsorbent-containing sheet 325 according to this embodiment does not have any folded portions, which reduces the load on the sheet 325. Therefore, the particulate adsorbent (see FIGS. 3A and 3B ) is less likely to fall off the sheet 325 than when the sheet is gathered.
[0088] The shape of the sheet 325 is preferably formed with few or no folds, such as a substantially S-shape, a C-shape, an I-shape (the number "1"), a J-shape, a U-shape, a W-shape, or the number "6" or "9." The shape of the sheet 325 may be a combination of these shapes.
[0089] 7C is also suitable for use as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 without the filler 24 and wrapper 26 shown in FIG.
[0090] Alternatively, it is also suitable to place a filler 24 on the outside of the hollow tube 22 shown in Figure 7C, and place a wrapper 26 on the outside of that. In this case, a sheet 322 containing an adsorbent (see Figure 4) may be used instead of the paper wrapper 36 shown in Figure 7C.
[0091] The example shown in FIG. 7D is a modified example of the hollow tube 22 shown in FIGS. 4 and 7A-7C.
[0092] As shown in Figure 7D, the adsorbent-containing sheet portion 32 of the hollow tube 22 of the hollow segment 14 has an adsorbent-containing sheet 326 fixed to the inside of the sheet 321 shown in Figure 7A by, for example, adhesive 344. The adsorbent-containing sheet 326 shown in Figure 7D is the adsorbent-containing sheet 325 shown in Figure 7C arranged in a different shape. Thus, the sheet 326 is provided as an adjustment portion for adjusting the surface area of the sheet portion 32 to increase the surface area of the sheet portion 32. Therefore, an adjustment portion for adjusting the surface area of the sheet portion 32 to increase the surface area of the sheet portion 32 is provided on the inside of the hollow tube 22.
[0093] The sheet 326 shown in Figure 7D has some folded portions. However, in the example shown in Figure 7D, there are only two or three such portions. Therefore, it is clear that the particulate adsorbent (see Figures 3A and 3B) is less likely to fall off the sheet 326 than when the sheet is gathered and has multiple folds.
[0094] 7D is also suitable for use as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 without the filler 24 and wrapper 26 shown in FIG.
[0095] Alternatively, it is also suitable to place a filler 24 on the outside of the hollow tube 22 shown in Figure 7D, and place a wrapper 26 on the outside of that. In this case, a sheet 322 containing an adsorbent (see Figure 4) may be used instead of the paper wrapper 36 shown in Figure 7D.
[0096] Modifications (first modification and second modification) of the non-combustion heating type flavor product 10a will be described below. Note that the heating device 100 shown in FIG. 1A is omitted in FIGS. 8A and 8B.
[0097] (First Modification) A flavor product 10d according to a first modification of the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 8A. In the flavor product 10d according to the first modification, the same components or components having the same functions as those in the flavor product 10a according to the embodiment including the above-described modification are designated by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof will be omitted.
[0098] As shown in Fig. 8A, the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10d according to the first modification has substantially the same configuration as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10a shown in Fig. 1A. In other words, as long as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is disposed between the base end of the flavor element 12 and the tip end of the filter segment 16, the cardboard tube 14a may be omitted.
[0099] According to the flavored product 10d of the first variant, the hollow segment 14 may be an adsorbent-containing tube 14b containing the filler 24 shown in Figure 2, or a hollow tube 22 (see Figures 4, 7A-7D) without the filler 24 may be used as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b.
[0100] The vent 20 of the flavor product 10d according to the first modification communicates with the inside of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b. That is, the vent 20 communicates between the inside of the hollow tube 22 and the outside of the flavor product 10d. Therefore, the hollow segment 14 can adjust the degree of cooling of the vapor component generated from the flavor raw material 12a.
[0101] Even when the non-combustion heating type flavor product 10d is formed in this manner, when the flavor element 12 is heated, vapor components are generated from the flavor raw material 12a, and a portion of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a is adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, thereby giving the user a different smoking taste compared to when the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is not used.
[0102] (Second Modification) A flavor product 10e according to a second modification of the flavor product 10a according to the present embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 8B. In the flavor product 10e according to the second modification, the same components or components having the same functions as those of the flavor product 10a according to the above-described embodiment are designated by the same reference numerals, and detailed description thereof will be omitted. Note that the flavor product 10e according to the second modification is also a further modification of the flavor product 10d according to the first modification.
[0103] As shown in Fig. 8B, the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10e according to the second modification does not have the cardboard tube 14a of the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10a shown in Fig. 1A. That is, an adsorbent-containing tube 14b is disposed as the hollow segment 14 between the base end of the flavor element 12 and the tip end of the filter segment 16.
[0104] The hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10e according to the second modification has substantially the same configuration as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14 of the flavor product 10a shown in Fig. 1A. In other words, as long as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is disposed between the base end of the flavor element 12 and the tip end of the filter segment 16, the cardboard tube 14a may be omitted.
[0105] According to the flavored product 10e of the second variant, the adsorbent-containing tube 14b shown in Figure 2 may be used as the hollow segment 14, or a hollow tube 22 (see Figures 4, 7A-7D) without a filler 24 may be used as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b.
[0106] The filter segment 16 includes a first filter 116 a and a second filter 116 b. The first filter 116 a is a paper filter made of crimped paper or an acetate tow filter. The second filter 116 b is, for example, a paper filter made of crimped paper.
[0107] The vent 20 of the flavor product 10e according to the second modification communicates with the inside of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b. That is, the vent 20 communicates between the inside of the hollow tube 22 and the outside of the flavor product 10e. Therefore, the hollow segment 14 can adjust the degree of cooling of the vapor component generated from the flavor raw material 12a.
[0108] Even when the non-combustion heating type flavor product 10e is formed in this manner, when the flavor element 12 is heated, vapor components are generated from the flavor raw material 12a, and a portion of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a is adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, thereby giving the user a different smoking taste compared to when the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is not used.
[0109] Second Embodiment A non-combustion heating type flavor product 10f according to a second embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 9. Note that in Fig. 9, the heating device 100 shown in Fig. 1A is omitted.
[0110] The flavored product 10f of this embodiment is a modified version of the flavored product 10a of the first embodiment and the flavored product 10d and 10e of the modified versions, and the same symbols are used to designate components that are the same as or have the same functions as the flavored product 10a, 10d, and 10e described above, and detailed explanations are omitted.
[0111] As shown in Figure 9, the flavor element 12 is formed as a hollow segment (second hollow segment) having a flavor ingredient 12a, a wrapper 12b outside the flavor ingredient 12a, and a cylindrical hollow tube 12c provided inside the flavor ingredient 12a.
[0112] The flavor raw material 12a is used as a filler that fills the outer periphery of the hollow tube 12c. The flavor raw material 12a as a filler can be a plant material such as cut tobacco or shredded tobacco sheets. In other words, the plant material includes tobacco material.
[0113] The hollow tube 12c of the flavor element 12 is formed similarly to the hollow tube 22 shown in Figures 4 and 7A-7D, for example, and the filler material 24 shown in Figure 2 is not required around the hollow tube 12c.
[0114] The flavor raw material 12a is placed around the hollow tube 12c. The flavor raw material 12a has an outer periphery that is, for example, a perfect circle. Therefore, the wrapper 12b also has an outer periphery that is, for example, a perfect circle.
[0115] A tip plug 17, which is configured similarly to a paper filter or acetate tow filter formed by crimping a paper material, is disposed on the tip side of the flavor element 12. That is, the flavor product 10f has the tip plug 17, which is made of, for example, a paper material, provided at the tip end of the flavor product 10f on the upstream side of the hollow segment 14.
[0116] The outer periphery of the tip plug 17, the flavor element 12, and the hollow segment 14, which is a paper tube, is wrapped with tipping paper 18a on the front side. The outer periphery of the hollow segment 14, which is a paper tube, and the filter segment 16 is wrapped with tipping paper 18b on the rear side. Note that a portion of the rear end of tipping paper 18a is wrapped with a portion of the front end of tipping paper 18b.
[0117] The operation (method of use) of the flavored product 10f according to this embodiment will be described.
[0118] Similar to the flavor element 12 of the flavor product 10a, the heater 104 of the heating device 100 heats the outer periphery of the flavor element 12 of the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment, with the tip plug 17 and the outer periphery of the flavor element 12 inserted into the recess 102 of the heating device 100.
[0119] At this time, the heater 104 of the heating device 100 preferably heats almost the entire outer periphery of the flavor element 12. The heater 104 of the heating device 100 then heats the flavor raw material 12a of the flavor product 10f to a temperature sufficient to generate steam components. The heating temperature at this time is preferably approximately the same as the heating temperature of the flavor element 12 of the flavor product 10a, for example.
[0120] The vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a by heating are inhaled by the user through the mouthpiece of the filter portion 16a, via the hollow segment 14 formed by the paper tube 14a and the filter segment 16. In this way, when the user inhales through the mouthpiece, air taken in from outside the flavor product 10f through the vent 20 cools the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a, facilitating the aerosolization of these components.
[0121] The hollow segment 14 efficiently cools and aerosolizes the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a before they reach the filter segment 16.
[0122] In the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment, an adsorbent is added to the wall surface formed by the hollow tube 12c of the flavor element 12. Although the adsorbent is present only on the wall surface of the hollow tube 12c, a portion of the adsorbent is located within the flow path of the components generated from the flavor raw material 12a. Therefore, in the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment, some of the components, particularly the vapor components, generated from the flavor raw material 12a are adsorbed by the adsorbent in the hollow tube 12c, and travel toward the hollow segment 14 and the filter segment 16, and are inhaled by the user through the filter segment 16 via the mouthpiece. Therefore, in the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment, some of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a are adsorbed by the adsorbent in the hollow tube 12c, thereby providing the user with a different smoking experience than when the hollow tube 12c is not used.
[0123] Therefore, the flavor product 10f according to the present embodiment allows for easier cleaning of the apparatus for producing the flavor product 10f than when the hollow tube 12c is formed from crimped sheets 321 and 322 shown in Fig. 4. Furthermore, the frequency of cleaning the apparatus for producing the flavor elements 12 and the apparatus for producing the flavor product 10f can be reduced. Therefore, more flavor products 10f can be produced per unit time.
[0124] Furthermore, the adsorbent-containing sheets 321, 322 that form the hollow tube 12c are not crimped, and therefore, for example, when the flavor product 10f is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10f to various regions, some of the granular adsorbent may fall off the sheets 321, 322. Even in this case, the granular adsorbent is prevented from falling off the sheets 321, 322 when the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10f to various regions, compared to a flavor product (not shown) in which the sheets 321, 322 are crimped. Therefore, by using the flavor product 10f according to this embodiment, deterioration of the appearance of the flavor product 10f can be suppressed.
[0125] Furthermore, when the hollow tube 12c is formed into a tube, the repulsive force is strong. In this embodiment, instead of using the filler 24 (see FIG. 2) described in the first embodiment, the flavor element 12 is formed as an adsorbent-containing tube, in which the flavor raw material 12a is placed and the wrapper 12b is placed around the flavor raw material 12a. By forming the flavor element 12 as an adsorbent-containing tube in this manner, it is possible to more easily form the outer shape into a perfect circle and maintain it in a state close to a perfect circle than when the hollow tube 12c is used alone.
[0126] In this embodiment, an example in which activated carbon is used as the adsorbent has been described. However, a mixture of multiple adsorbents with different properties, such as activated carbon and hydrotalcite, may also be used. In this case, the flavored product 10f according to this embodiment can achieve the different effects of each adsorbent.
[0127] [Third Embodiment] In the flavor product products 10a, 10d, and 10e according to the first embodiment, including the above-described modified examples, and the flavor product product 10f according to the second embodiment, the flavor raw material 12a is heated by a heater to generate a vapor component from the flavor raw material 12a. The flavor raw material 12a of the flavor element 12 of the flavor product products 10a, 10d, 10e, and 10f may be burned like a cigarette to generate a vapor component from the flavor raw material 12a, and the user may enjoy the flavor through the mouthpiece. A combustion-type flavor product product 10g according to the third embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. 10. The flavored product 10g of this embodiment is a modified version of the flavored product 10a of the first embodiment, the flavored product 10d and 10e of the modified versions, and the flavored product 10f of the second embodiment, and the same components or components having the same functions as the above-mentioned flavored product 10a, 10d, 10e, and 10f are given the same symbols, and detailed explanations are omitted.
[0128] The flavor product 10g according to this embodiment will be described as an example in which the flavor element 12 is not simply heated at its outer periphery but is burned by lighting the tip of the flavor element 12. That is, the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment is used as a combustion-type flavor product, i.e., a cigarette.
[0129] A hollow segment 14 is provided between the flavor element 12 and the filter segment 16. In the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment, the hollow segment 14 may be an adsorbent-containing tube 14b including a filler material 24 as shown in FIG. 2, or a hollow tube 22 (see FIGS. 4 and 7A-7D) without a filler material 24 may be used as the adsorbent-containing tube 14b.
[0130] The action (method of use) of the flavored product 10g according to this embodiment will be described.
[0131] The tip of the flavor element 12 of the flavor product 10g is lit, and a steam component is generated from the flavor raw material 12a of the flavor product 10g.
[0132] The vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a by combustion are inhaled by the user through the mouthpiece of the filter portion 16a, passing through the hollow segment 14 formed by the paper tube 14a and the filter segment 16. In this way, when the user inhales through the mouthpiece, the air taken in from outside the flavor product 10g through the vent 20 cools the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a, facilitating the aerosolization of these components.
[0133] The hollow segment 14 efficiently cools and aerosolizes the flavor components of the flavor raw material 12a before they reach the filter segment 16.
[0134] In the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment, the adsorbent is added to the wall surface formed by the seat portion 32 of the hollow tube 22 of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b of the hollow segment 14. The adsorbent is present only on the wall surface of the hollow tube 22, but is present within the flow path of the components generated from the flavor raw material 12a. Therefore, in the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment, some of the components generated from the flavor raw material 12a, particularly the vapor components, are adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, move toward the filter segment 16, and are inhaled by the user through the filter segment 16 via the mouthpiece. Therefore, in the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment, some of the vapor components generated from the flavor raw material 12a are adsorbed by the adsorbent of the adsorbent-containing tube 14b, which imparts a different smoking taste to the user compared to a case in which the adsorbent-containing tube 14b is not used.
[0135] Therefore, the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment can be more easily cleaned than when, for example, the sheets 321 and 322 shown in Fig. 4 are crimped and used as the hollow tube 22. Furthermore, the frequency of cleaning the device for manufacturing the hollow segment 14 and the device for manufacturing the flavor product 10g can be reduced. Therefore, more flavor product 10g can be manufactured per unit time.
[0136] Furthermore, the adsorbent-containing sheets 321, 322 that form the hollow segments 14 are not crimped, and for example, when the flavor product 10g is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10g to various regions, some of the granular adsorbent falls off the sheets 321, 322. Even in this case, when the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment is manufactured, packaged, and delivered to a user, or when the user takes the flavor product 10g to various regions, the granular adsorbent is prevented from falling off the sheets 321, 322, compared to a flavor product (not shown) in which the sheets 321, 322 are crimped, etc. Therefore, by using the flavor product 10g according to this embodiment, deterioration of the appearance of the flavor product 10g can be suppressed.
[0137] In this embodiment, an example in which activated carbon is used as the adsorbent has been described. However, a mixture of multiple adsorbents with different properties, such as activated carbon and hydrotalcite, may also be used. In this case, the flavored product 10f according to this embodiment can achieve the different effects of each adsorbent.
[0138] The present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made in the implementation stage without departing from the spirit of the invention. Furthermore, the embodiments may be implemented in appropriate combinations, in which case the combined effects can be obtained. Furthermore, the above-described embodiments include various inventions, and various inventions can be extracted by combining selected elements from the disclosed elements.
