Description

AUDIO DEVICE, AUDIO SYSTEM AND AUDIO MANAGEMENT METHODTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to a technical field of audio processing technology, and more specifically, to an audio device, audio system and audio management method.BACKGROUND

[0002] Currently, more and more families have multiple audio devices (e.g., speakers) , which may be shared by a family and used independently by family members. Different speakers may have different input audio formats (e.g., mono (1.0) , stereo (2.0) , 2.1, 5.0, 5.1, 7.1 etc. ) and support different input audio sources. For example, a speaker placed in a living room may support audio sources with HDMI / Optical / Aux / Bluetooth / Mic / Wi-Fi, etc. interfaces, while another speaker placed in another room may only support audio sources with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth interfaces, and most headphones only support audio source with Bluetooth interface.

[0003] Sometimes, as an example, music of DVDs or other playback devices (e.g., TV / Hi-Fi player, etc. ) in the living room is desired to be played on the speaker in another room. Multiroom function is a solution for this. The multiroom function can be used to enable the speaker in a first room to play the audio contents (e.g., music of DVDs or other playback devices) in a second room (e.g., living room) . A multiroom audio system with the multiroom function provides a convenient and immersive audio experience, allowing users to enjoy synchronized audio playback in multiple rooms or zones simultaneously.

[0004] However, based on the multiroom function, the audio contents for each speaker in each room or zone are from a same audio source. In some cases, the desired audio contents in each room or zone may be different (e.g., family members may not like the same music) . In addition, the multiroom function has strict requirements on the compatibility and coordination of speakers and types of speakers, which limit the application of the multiroom function. Further, the playback devices as the audio sources may provide different types of  audio output using different audio interfaces (e.g., some playback devices each provide a HDMI output, some playback devices each provide an AUX output, and some playback devices each provide an optical output, etc. ) , but not every speaker supports all the input manner, therefore, such speakers may not play the audio contents from some audio sources. In addition, moving the playback device for playing on a specific speaker in a desired room or zone is also very inconvenient. Moreover, there are more and more online music services, such as Airplay / Google cast / Amazon music / Spotify, etc., and each speaker may not support all services.

[0005] Therefore, a solution for playing audio contents from multiple audio sources on multiple audio playback devices based on the users’ requirement is needed, through which audio source signals from one or more different audio sources can be played on different speakers as needed, even if the speakers cannot support all audio interface types of the audio source (s) .SUMMARY

[0006] According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, an audio device is provided. The audio device comprises: a plurality of audio source interfaces, configured to connect with a plurality of audio sources; at least one type of wireless communication component, configured for wireless connection with a plurality of speakers, at least one memory comprising processor-executable instructions; and at least one processor configured to execute the processor-executable instructions and cause the audio device to: acquire audio source-speaker linking information, wherein the audio source-speaker linking information indicates a correspondence between at least one audio source of the plurality of audio sources and at least one speaker of the plurality of speakers; acquire wireless communication parameters of each speaker of the at least one speaker, and determine a wireless communication component from the at least one type of wireless communication component corresponding to the speaker; and process, based on the audio source-speaker linking information and for each audio source of the at least one audio source, an audio source signal from the audio source to obtain audio data for each speaker corresponding to the audio source, and distribute the audio data to the speaker via a corresponding wireless communication  component.

[0007] According to another aspect of present disclosure, an audio system is provided. The audio system comprises: the audio device as mentioned above; and a plurality of speakers, wherein each speaker plays according to corresponding audio data from the audio device.

[0008] According to another aspect of present disclosure, an audio management method applied to an audio device is provided, in which the audio device includes at least one type of wireless communication component, and connected with a plurality of audio sources and wirelessly connected with a plurality of speakers, the audio management method comprising: acquiring audio source-speaker linking information, wherein the audio source-speaker linking information indicates a correspondence between at least one audio source of the plurality of audio sources and at least one speaker of the plurality of speakers; acquiring wireless communication parameters of each speaker of the at least one speaker, and determine a wireless communication component from the at least one type of wireless communication component corresponding to the speaker; and processing, based on the audio source-speaker linking information and for each audio source of the at least one audio source, an audio source signal from the audio source to obtain audio data for each speaker corresponding to the audio source, and distribute the audio data to the speaker via a corresponding wireless communication component.

[0009] According to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure, the audio device may receive the audio source signal from any audio source, and wirelessly transmit the processed audio source signal to the secondary speaker (s) , so that the hardware cost and software integration complexity may be reduced. Secondly, the audio device may receive audio source signals from different audio sources and distribute the processed audio source signals to the secondary speaker (s) , so the hardware requirements of the secondary speaker (s) can be reduced, and development resources can be saved. Thirdly, the audio device may operate in coordination with the control device with the User Interface, and thus facilitates user operation. The audio device may communicate with the secondary speaker (s) wirelessly and may process the audio source signal, so there is no need for audio data conversion cables and moving playback devices (DVD / TV / Hi-Fi player, etc. ) between rooms or zones, which  makes the application environment tidier and cleaner. In addition, a same audio source signal may be played on two or more secondary speakers, or different audio source signals may be played on the two or more secondary speakers.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0017] In order to make objectives, technical details and advantages of the present disclosure apparent, the exemplary embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in details below with reference to the accompanying drawings. It is obvious that the described embodiments are just a part but not all of the embodiments of the present disclosure. It should  be understood that the present disclosure is not limited by the exemplary embodiments described here.

[0018] In the specification and the drawings, steps and elements that are basically the same or similar are represented by same or similar reference signs, and repeated description of these steps and elements will be omitted. Meanwhile, in the description of the present disclosure, the terms “first” , “second” and the like are only used for distinguishing description, and cannot be understood as indicating or implying relative importance or ranking. Unless explicitly stated, singular expressions may refer to the plural, and plural expressions may also refer to the singular.

[0019] The present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to exemplary embodiments thereof. However, the present disclosure is not limited to the embodiments described herein, and it can be implemented in many different forms. The described embodiments are only used to make this disclosure thorough and complete, and fully convey the concept of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. Features of the described embodiments may be combined or substituted with each other unless explicitly excluded or should be excluded according to the context.

[0020] For purposes of the present description, the following terms have the associated meanings. The term “speaker” or “audio device” or equivalents means a device including one or more transducer units in a unitary enclosure. The term “transducer unit” means a single electroacoustic transducer that produces and transmits sound in response to an input electrical audio source signal. Examples of the speaker may include a soundbar, headphone, sound box, etc.

[0021] In some embodiments of present disclosure, the audio system, the audio device and the audio management method are described in the context of home application scenario, however, it should be noted that, the audio system, the audio device and the audio management method may be used in other application scenarios.

[0022] FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a scenario of multi-input to multi-output according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0023] As shown in FIG. 1, different speakers (101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106) are set in different rooms in a home environment 100. A DVD player 20 as an audio source uses a  HDMI interface to connect to the speaker 101 and may provide an audio source signal to the speaker 101 via the HDMI interface, and a Hi-Fi player 30 as another audio source uses an AUX interface to connect to the speaker 101 and may provide an audio source signal to the speaker 101 via the AUX interface. Speakers 102-106 in the living room, washroom and bedrooms may support different types of audio sources based on their audio interface types.

[0024] As mentioned before, there is a need for a solution of multi-input to multi-output function, such that audio source signals from one or more different audio sources can be played on different speakers as needed, even if the speakers cannot support all audio interface types (e.g., HDMI interface, or Aux interface, etc. ) of the audio source (s) .

[0025] In present disclosure, the expression “an audio source signal being played on a speaker” or similar expressions in the context may indicate that the audio data (also referred to as audio contents or audio signal, etc. ) received by the speaker and played by the speaker is based on the audio source signal and originated from an audio source outputting the audio source signal. For example, the audio source signal may be processed, e.g., by an audio device, and the processed audio source signal (also referred to as “audio data” in the context) will be transmitted to the speaker for playback. Based on the understanding, the expression “audio data corresponding to an audio source” in the context may indicate the processed audio source signal from the audio source.

[0026] In an embodiment of present disclosure, hardware adapters can support the multi-input to multi-output function for audio playback, but most of them need wired connection, which has its limitations and inconvenience.

[0027] Therefore, the present disclosure provides an audio device, an audio system including the audio device, and an audio management method used in an audio device, to implement the multi-input to multi-output function for audio playback, meanwhile the limitations and inconvenience for implementation of the multi-input to multi-output function may be mitigated.

[0028] FIG. 2 schematically illustrates an overview of an audio system according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0029] As shown in FIG. 2, the audio system 200 may include an audio device 210, a control device 220, and a plurality of speakers 230 (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) .

[0030] The audio device 210 may be a speaker with processing functions. In such case, the audio device 210 may be referred to as a primary speaker device or a primary speaker, and the plurality of speakers 230 (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) may be referred to as secondary speaker devices or secondary speakers, or simply speakers.

[0031] The control device 220 may have a User Interface for interacting with the user. For example, the control device 220 may be any processing apparatus including but not limited to a mobile phone, a computer, a personal digital assistant (PDA) , a laptop, etc. The application program is installed and run on the processer of the control device 220, so that information can be displayed on the User Interface, and the user may interact with the control device 220.

[0032] In an example, the audio device 210 and the control device 220 may be integrated together, and the audio device 210 may perform the operations of the control device 220 described in the context. For example, the audio device 210 may have a display screen used for displaying the User Interface for interaction with users. In this case, the audio device 210 may receive user input through the User Interface on its display screen, and perform processing based on the user input as described later.

[0033] As shown in FIG. 2, the plurality of speakers 230 (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) may be of different types, for example, each speaker may be a soundbar, a headphone, or a sound box, etc.

[0034] In present disclosure, the audio device 210 may be configured with a plurality of audio interfaces 211, so that the audio device 210 may acquire audio source signals from different audio sources (S1, S2, …, SM) . As shown in FIG. 2, audio sources usually include HDMI / Optical / AUX / BT / Wi-Fi audio sources and so on, in which Wi-Fi audio source includes Airplay / Google cast / Alex music / Spotify and so on. Accordingly, the plurality of audio interfaces 211 of the audio device 210 may include one or more of: a HDMI interface, an AUX interface, an optical interface, a Wi-Fi interface, a Bluetooth interface, or application interface (e.g., for downloading audio source signal from the server) , etc.

[0035] In addition, the audio source may also be a microphone. In some examples, the audio device 210 may be further configured with a microphone, and microphone data on the audio device 210 may be played on any of the speakers 230, that is, the microphone may be  used as an audio source for the audio device 210. In addition, microphone data from any of the speakers 230 can also be transmitted (e.g., through WLAN, LAN network / Bluetooth, etc. ) to the audio device 210 as an audio source, therefore, microphone data on any speaker can be played on other speakers. Not only microphone data, but also any audio on a secondary speaker, once selected through the User Interface to be input to the audio device 210, may be forwarded by the audio device 210 to other secondary speakers. In this case, the audio device 210 may provide the audio routing function which greatly enriches application scenarios.

[0036] That is, each audio source signal input to the audio device 210 may be an HDMI / Optical / AUX / BT / Wi-Fi audio source signal, microphoning signal or audio source signal received from other devices, etc.

[0037] In addition, the audio device 210 may also be configured with at least one type of wireless communication component 212, for wireless communication with the plurality of speakers 230 (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) . For example, the at least one type of wireless communication component may include a network communication (e.g., WLAN or LAN communication) component and / or a short-range communication (e.g., Bluetooth communication) component, e.g., using hardware circuits.

[0038] The network component is responsible for distributing the audio data (the processed audio source signal) at the audio device 210 to target secondary speaker devices 230 through the network. In addition, the network component is also responsible for the interaction between the audio device 210 and the secondary speaker devices, such as some playback control commands. The short-range communication (e.g., Bluetooth communication) component is responsible for linking with a secondary speaker device with a short-range interface and transmitting the audio data (the processed audio source signal) at the audio device 210 to target secondary speaker device with the short-range interface. In addition, the playback control command can also be via a short-range communication protocol.

[0039] In addition, the audio device 210 may be configured with a local speaker 215, so that if no secondary speaker device is wirelessly connected, the audio device 210 may use the local speaker to play the audio source signal from an audio source (if any) locally. That is, the local speaker is responsible for local playback, and when the local speaker does not work,  the audio device 210 may serve as an adapter of multiple input to multiple output function.

[0040] In addition, the audio device 210 and the control device 220 may be connected with each other wirelessly or wired, and then the audio device 210 and the control device 220 may interact with each other. Or, in some example, as mentioned before, the audio device 210 and the control device 220 may be integrated together, and the audio device 210 may have the User Interface, for interaction with the user and determining related information.

[0041] For example, the audio device 210 may further include at least one processor 213 and at least one memory 214 for storing processor-executable instructions. The processor-executable instructions are executed by the at least one processor 213 to cause the audio device 210 to: acquire audio source-speaker linking information, where the audio source-speaker linking information indicates a correspondence between at least one audio source of the plurality of audio sources (S1, S2, …, SM) and at least one speaker of the plurality of speakers 230 (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) ; acquire wireless communication parameters of each speaker of the at least one speaker, and determine a wireless communication component from the at least one type of wireless communication component and corresponding to the speaker; process, based on the audio source-speaker linking information and for each audio source of the at least one audio source, an audio source signal from the audio source to obtain audio data for each speaker corresponding to the audio source, and distribute the audio data to the speaker via a corresponding wireless communication component.

[0042] In some embodiments, considering that the speakers may be of different types, so they may have different audio input attributes, i.e., the audio input formats applicable to the speakers may be different. For example, for a soundbar, the audio input format may be 5.1 (six audio channels) , for a headphone, the audio input format may be stereo (2.0) (two audio channels, i.e., left channel and right channel) , and for a sound box, the audio input format may be mono (1.0) (one audio channel) , etc. Therefore, the audio device 210 may process the audio source signal (s) from the at least one audio source, so that each processed audio source signal may be transmitted to a corresponding speaker on audio channels corresponding to the audio input format of the speaker. Audio channel allocation in the audio device 210 for the different audio input formats may be based on the allocation methods in the prior art.

[0043] That is, in the audio device 210, when executed by the at least one processor, the processor-executable instructions cause the audio device to: for each audio source of the at least one audio source, process, based on audio input attribute of each speaker corresponding to the audio source, an audio source signal from the audio source into audio data for the speaker, where the audio data for the speaker include audio data of one or more audio channels; and distribute, for each speaker corresponding to the audio source, the audio data for the speaker to the speaker via the wireless communication component corresponding to the speaker.

[0044] Optionally, the audio device 210 may acquire the audio source-speaker linking information from the control device 220, and the control device 220 is configured to generate the audio source-speaker linking information in response to user input on the User Interface on the display screen of the control device 220. In other examples, the audio device 210 may further comprise a display screen for presenting the User Interface, and the audio source-speaker linking information is determined at the audio device 210 in response to user input on the User Interface. When the audio source-speaker linking information is empty or the audio device 210 fails to acquire the audio source-speaker linking information and when the audio device 210 is configured with a local speaker, in a case where the audio source signal from an audio source is received, the local speaker is used to locally play the audio data corresponding to the audio source.

[0045] As shown in FIG. 2, the control device 220 with the User Interface may be responsible for the interaction between users and audio device 210, support playback control and volume adjustment, and assist the connection and data communication between the audio device 210 and speakers, and so on. The audio device 210 may detect active audio sources which are activated and capable of providing the audio source signal to the audio device 210 (e.g., based on the connection state detection) . In addition, the audio device 210 may also detect active secondary speakers which are activated and capable of receiving audio distributed signal from the audio device 210. Then, the audio device 210 may provide the detection result to the control device 220, so that the control device 220 may display the identification information of the active audio sources and the active secondary speakers on the User Interface for the user to select. In some examples, the secondary speakers may  communicate with the control device 220, so that the control device 220 may determine the active secondary speakers according to the communication with the secondary speakers, without the detection of the audio device 210.

[0046] Then, the User Interface may display the active (available) audio sources and secondary speakers, and the user may select the audio data links between available audio sources on the audio device 210 and available secondary speakers (230-1, 230-2, …, 230-N) via the User Interface. For example, the user can select the audio source S1 corresponding to the HDMI audio interface to be linked with a first speaker 230-1 for playback, and the audio source S2 corresponding to the Bluetooth audio interface to be linked with a second speaker 230-N for playback. The user may also select a single audio source to be linked with multiple speakers for playback. In present disclosure, the user is authorized, and is not limited to only one user.

[0047] In some cases, the control device 220 may display identification of all the audio sources and all the secondary speakers without detection. All the audio sources and all the secondary speakers may have been obtained from historical audio data links. After the audio source-speaker linking information is generated based on the user input, the control device 220 may transmit the audio source-speaker linking information to the audio device 210. The audio device 210 may try to acquire the audio source signal from the audio source specified in the audio source-speaker linking information and try to connect with the speaker specified in the audio source-speaker linking information. If the audio device 210 fails to acquire the audio source signal from the specified audio source and / or connect with the specified speaker, it may transmit indication information to the control device 220 to indicate that at least one audio data link associated with the current audio source-speaker linking information is unavailable, and the user may reselect the audio data link.

[0048] Optionally, in order to make an audio source signal from an audio source play on a corresponding speaker, the audio device may connect to the speaker. For example, the audio device 210 may determine the correspondence between the speakers and the at least one type of wireless communication component, based on wireless communication parameters of the speakers.

[0049] For example, the at least one speaker associated with the audio source-speaker  linking information may include a first speaker and a second speaker. The audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that a first audio source of the plurality of audio sources corresponds to the first speaker and the second speaker, or the audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that the first audio source corresponds to the first speaker and a second audio source corresponds to the second speaker. The audio device 210 may determine that the first speaker corresponds to a first wireless communication component and the second speaker corresponds to a second wireless communication component, where the first wireless communication component is the same as or different from the second wireless communication component. In this case, the processor-executable instructions stored on the at least one memory, when executed by the at least one processor, cause the audio device to: acquire wireless communication parameters of the first speaker and the second speaker, and determine the first wireless communication component corresponding to the first speaker and the second wireless communication component corresponding to the second speaker based on the wireless communication parameters of the first speaker and the second speaker; and distribute audio data for the first speaker to the first speaker via the first wireless communication component and distribute audio data for the second speaker to the second speaker via the second wireless communication component.

[0050] For example, as shown in FIG. 2, the first audio source S1 (e.g., HDMI audio source) may be linked with the first speaker 230-1 (e.g., sound box) , and the audio device 210 may select, based on the wireless communication parameters of the first speaker 230-1, the network component to transmit to the speaker 230-1 the audio data for the first speaker 230-1 corresponding to the first audio source; and the second audio source S2 (e.g., Bluetooth audio source) may be linked with the N-th speaker 230-N (e.g., Bluetooth headset) , and the audio device 210 may select, based on the wireless communication parameters of the N-th speaker 230-N, the Bluetooth component to transmit to the N-th speaker 230-N the audio data for the N-th speaker 230-N corresponding to the second audio source S2.

[0051] FIG. 3 schematically illustrates a simplified schematic diagram of the audio sources and secondary speaker devices displayed on the User Interface after system setup, according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0052] The User Interface displays input audio sources of the audio device 210 and  speakers 230 (secondary speakers) , including speakers using wireless transmission (e.g., network-based transmission and Bluetooth-based transmission) . In addition, local speaker (not shown) of the audio device 210 may also be displayed on the User Interface as a secondary device (without the wireless connection) for the user to select for playback. The local speaker may also be used as a default playback device when there are no other available speakers.

[0053] Users can select any audio source to link with any secondary speaker. In general, an audio source signal from an audio source can be processed and then played simultaneously on multiple secondary speaker devices, but a secondary speaker device cannot play the processed audio source signals from multiple sources simultaneously. For example, the audio source signal from a first audio source S1 can be processed and played on any combination of speakers 230-1 / Speaker 230-2 / … / Speaker 230-N, etc. For N secondary speaker devices, the number of combinations is

[0054] In FIG. 3, there are M audio sources and N secondary speaker devices. For users, there are a lot of combinations, not every audio source signal from every audio source needs to be processed and played on a corresponding secondary speaker, and not every secondary speaker must link with a corresponding input audio source.

[0055] The user may adjust the link relationship dynamically by interaction with the User Interface. Then the audio device 210 may receive the audio source-speaker linking information from the control device 220 unregularly. When the newly received audio source-speaker linking information by the audio device 210 indicates that a different audio source is selected to link with a secondary speaker which is being linked to another audio source and playing the processed audio source signal from the other audio source, the audio device 210 will break the audio data link between the other audio source and the secondary speaker, so that the secondary speaker is capable of playing the processed audio source signal from the newly selected audio source.

[0056] For example, the user selects the audio source S1 to link with the speaker 230-1 and selects the audio source S2 to link with the speaker 230-2. When the user selects the audio source SM to link with the speaker 230-1 at a later time, the audio source signal  from the audio source S1 will not be played on the speaker 230-1, and will stop playing on the speaker 230-1.

[0057] In another example, the user selects the audio source S1 to link with the speaker 230-1 and the speaker 230-2. When the user selects the audio source S2 to link with the speaker 230-1 at a later time, the audio source signal from the audio source S1 will not be played on the speaker 230-1 but continue playing on the speaker 230-2. The audio source signal from the audio source S2 will be played on the speaker 230-1.

[0058] In addition, the audio device 210 may be configured to identify or detect active audio sources in real time. The active audio sources which the audio device 210 identifies or detects may also increase or decrease dynamically, in some cases, default configuration at the audio device 210 may be set for the dynamically changed active audio sources. Then the audio device 210 may operate automatically based on the default configurations without control of the control device 220.

[0059] For example, in some cases, the audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that the first audio source corresponds to a first speaker and a second speaker, or the audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that the first audio source corresponds to the first speaker and a second audio source corresponds to the second speaker. At the same time, the first speaker may correspond to a first wireless communication component and the second speaker may correspond to a second wireless communication component, and the first wireless communication component may be the same as or different from the second wireless communication component. In such cases, the audio data for the first speaker (audio data corresponding to the first audio source) is played on the first speaker, and the audio data for the second speaker (audio data corresponding to one of the first audio source or second audio source) is played on the second speaker. For example, the processor-executable instructions are executed by the at least one processor to further cause the audio device 210 to: acquire wireless communication parameters of the first speaker and the second speaker, and determine the first wireless communication component corresponding to the first speaker and the second wireless communication component corresponding to the second speaker based on the wireless communication parameters of the first speaker and the second speaker; and distribute audio data for the first speaker to the first speaker via the first wireless  communication component and distribute audio data for the second speaker to the second speaker via the second wireless communication component.

[0060] In a case where a third audio source is newly connected, the processor-executable instructions are executed to cause the audio device to: stop playing the audio data for the first speaker corresponding to the first audio source using the first speaker (e.g., cut off the audio data link from the first audio source to the first speaker, or stop transmitting the corresponding audio data) and play the audio data from the third audio source using the first speaker (e.g., establish the audio data link from the third audio source to the first speaker, and transmit the corresponding audio data) ; or, stop playing the audio data for the second speaker using the second speaker, and automatically playing audio data corresponding to the third audio source using the second speaker.

[0061] In another example, as mentioned before, the audio device 210 may include a local speaker. The local speaker may function as a secondary speaker.

[0062] For example, in some cases, the audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that the first audio source corresponds to a first speaker and the local speaker functions as a second speaker (secondary speaker) , or the audio source-speaker linking information may indicate that the first audio source corresponds to the first speaker and a second audio source corresponds to the local speaker. At the same time, the first speaker may correspond to a first wireless communication component. In such cases, the audio data for the first speaker (audio data corresponding to the first audio source) is played on the first speaker, and the audio data for the second speaker (audio data corresponding to one of the first audio source or second audio source) is played on the local speaker. For example, the processor-executable instructions stored on the at least one memory of the audio device 210 are executed by the at least one processor to cause the audio device to: acquire wireless communication parameters of the first speaker, and determine the first wireless communication component corresponding to the first speaker based on the wireless communication parameters of the first speaker; and distribute audio data for the first speaker to the first speaker via the first wireless communication component, and use the local speaker to locally play audio data for the second speaker.

[0063] In a case where a third audio source is newly connected, the  processor-executable instructions are executed to cause the audio device 210 to: stop playing the audio data for the second speaker using the local speaker, and play audio data corresponding to the third audio source using the third speaker; or, stop playing the audio data for the first speaker using the first speaker, and play audio data corresponding to the third audio source using the first speaker.

[0064] For example, as shown in FIG. 3, current active audio sources include audio source S1 and audio source S2, and the audio data corresponding to the audio source S2 is played on the speaker 230-N, when the active audio source SM is added, the audio data corresponding to the audio source SM will automatically play on the speaker 230-N. The speaker 230-N may be the local speaker or other speakers with wireless communication.

[0065] For better understanding, FIG. 4 schematically illustrates the interaction operations among the control device 220, the audio device 210 and the plurality of speakers, according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0066] It should be noted that, in FIG. 4, the control device 220 and the audio device 210 are illustrated to be separate, however, as mentioned before, the control device 220 and the audio device 210 may be integrated as a whole.

[0067] FIG. 4 mainly focuses on the switching of audio data link. Input audio sources on the audio device 210 are numbered as "i" , "j" , "k" , etc. Secondary speakers are numbered as "x" , "y" , "z" , etc. "i->x" represents the audio data link from audio source "i" on the audio device 210 to speaker "x" , and audio data from audio source “i” playing on speaker “x” , and the letter before “->” indicates the audio source and the letter after “->” indicates the speaker.

[0068] The control device 220 gets information of audio sources and secondary speakers using the User Interface, so users can view the status of the audio system.

[0069] Firstly, audio source “i” is selected to link with speaker “x” on the control device 220, and the audio device 210 will create an audio data link from audio source “i” to speaker “x” (i->x) .

[0070] Then, audio source “j” is selected to link with speaker “y” on the control device 220, and the audio device 210 will create an audio data link from audio source “j” to speaker “y” (j->y) , pipeline “i->x” still exists.

[0071] Then, audio source “i” is selected to link with speaker “z” on the control  device 220, and the audio device 210 will create audio data link from audio source “i” to speaker “z” (i->z) , and audio data links “i->x” and “j->y” still exist. In such case, the audio data from audio source "i" will be played on the speaker "x" and "z" , simultaneously.

[0072] Next, audio source “k” is selected to link with speaker “x” on the control device 220, and the audio device 210 will destroy the audio data link from audio source “i” to speaker “x” (i->x) and create audio data link from audio source “k” to speaker “x” (k->x) , audio data links “j->y” and “i->z” still exist.

[0073] Next, audio source “j” is selected to link with speaker “z” on the control device 220, and the audio device 210 will destroy the audio data link from audio source “i” to speaker “z” (i->z) and create audio data link from audio source “j” to speaker “z” (j->z) , audio data links “j->y” and “k->x” still exist. The audio data from the audio source "i" will not be played on any speaker.

[0074] Therefore, as described with FIGS. 2-4, the audio system may implement the multi-input to multi-out function, and using the audio device 210 and control device 220 with the User Interface, the multi-input to multi-out function may be implemented costly and with less limitations and inconvenience.

[0075] For example, in the application scenario as shown in FIG. 1, when the primary speaker as shown in FIG. 1 adopts the audio device 210 described with reference to FIGS. 2-4, the DVD player (serving as an audio source) connects to the primary speaker via the HDMI interface, and the Hi-Fi player (serving as another audio source) connects to the primary speaker via the AUX interface, the primary speaker may process distribute the DVD player's music to Bedroom1 and the Hi-Fi player's music to Bedroom2, and authorized users may control audio data link and other settings via the user interface (e.g., application program, client, etc. ) , which may be on the display screen of mobile terminals (e.g., mobile phone, laptop, PDA, desk computer, etc. ) or the primary speaker.

[0076] Based on the operations of the audio device 210 (including interaction operations with the control device 220) , at least the following technical advantages may be achieved.

[0077] Firstly, the audio device 210 may receive the audio source signal from any audio source, and wirelessly transmit the audio data for the audio source signal to the  secondary speaker (s) , so that the hardware cost and software integration complexity may be reduced. For example, the secondary speaker (s) does not require hardware interfaces such as HDMI and AUX interfaces, and adding a Wi-Fi audio source to the audio device 210 only requires upgrading the software on the audio device 210.

[0078] Secondly, there are more and more audio resources (Airplay / Google Cast / Spotify / Alex Music, etc. ) and supporting these requires more hardware resources (CPU / RAM / Flash, etc. ) and development resources. In this invention, the audio device 210 may receive audio source signal from such audio sources, and the hardware requirements of the speakers can be reduced, and development resources can be saved.

[0079] Thirdly, the audio device 210 operates in coordination with the control device 220 with the User Interface, and thus facilitates user operation. The audio device 210 may communicate with the speakers wirelessly and may process the audio source signal (e.g., audio channel allocation) , so there is no need for audio data conversion cables and moving playback devices (DVD / TV / Hi-Fi player, etc. ) between rooms or zones, which makes the application environment tidier and cleaner. In addition, two or more speakers may play the same audio source signal or different audio source signals.

[0080] Next, the operations of the audio sources can be extended to features such as multiroom and multichannel, in combination with audio channel allocation and audio synchronization between different speakers.

[0081] In addition, the increase or decrease of audio sources and the increase or decrease of speakers may be detected and identified by the audio device 210 and related information may be displayed, so that the user may select the audio data link in real-time, which may do not affect the availability of the system.

[0082] As mentioned before, the microphone data on the audio device 210 may be played on any of the speakers 230, that is, the microphone may be used as an input audio source for the audio device 210. In addition, the microphone data from any of the speakers 230 can also be transmitted (e.g., through WLAN, LAN network / Bluetooth, etc. ) to the audio device 210 as an input audio source, therefore, microphone data on any speaker can be played on other speakers. Not only microphone data, but also any audio on a secondary speaker,  once selected through the User Interface to be input to the audio device 210, may be forwarded by the audio device 210 to other secondary speakers. In this case, the audio device 210 may serve as the audio routing function which greatly enriches application scenarios.

[0083] FIG. 5 schematically illustrates a structural block diagram of the audio device 210 of the audio system 200 according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0084] As shown in FIG. 5, the audio device 210 may include a plurality of audio interfaces 510, an interaction manager 520, a channel selector and mixer 530, and a wireless communicator 540. Optionally, in a case where the audio device 210 is configured with a local speaker, the audio device 210 may further include a local speaker manager 550.

[0085] The plurality of audio interfaces 510 (including interfaces 510-1, 510-2, …510-M (not shown) ) may be implemented as hardware circuits or software (e.g., application interface) , so that the audio device 210 may acquire audio source signals from different audio sources (S1, S2, …, SM) .

[0086] The interaction manager 520 (520-1 and 520-2) may be configured to acquire the audio source-speaker linking information from a user interface (e.g., of a control device 220 or the audio device 210 locally) and acquire one or more audio source signals according to the audio source-speaker linking information. The interaction manager 520 may be implemented as hardware circuits (e.g., the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or software (e.g., a part of the processor-executable instructions executed on the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or their combination. According to the function of the interaction manager, the interaction manager 520 may be further divided into a User Interface manager 520-1 and an audio source manager 520-2. For example, the User Interface manager may be responsible for the interaction between the audio device 210 and the User Interface, including but not limited to sharing active audio sources on the audio device 210 and receiving user operation instructions to notify other modules within the audio device 210. The audio source manager may be responsible for the management of all audio sources, including but not limited to audio data acquisition and transfer to related modules, as well as local output management, for example, if no speaker is connected wirelessly with the audio device 210, the audio source signal from only one audio source may be played locally (using the local speaker) , so the audio source manager may control to receive one input audio source signal. When a speaker is connected  wirelessly, the audio source manager may control to receive the audio source signal from the same audio source as the local speaker (multiroom feature) or connect to an audio source based on the audio source-speaker linking information from the User Interface.

[0087] The channel selector and mixer 530 may be configured to acquire the one or more audio source signals and determine a speaker corresponding to each audio source signal and an audio input attribute thereof, so as to process each audio source signal into audio data on one or more audio channels. The channel selector and mixer may be implemented as hardware circuits (e.g., the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or software (e.g., a part of the processor-executable instructions executed on the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or their combination.

[0088] The channel selector and mixer 530 is responsible for the allocation (e.g., selecting and mixing) of the channels before distributing the audio source signals. For example, the audio data distributed to the Bluetooth speaker device is left channel and right channel, and the audio data distributed to the sound box is mono channel, and so on. For the sake of simplicity, audio data distributed through the network component may also be left channel and right channel, but to improve sound performance, it can also dynamically allocate channels with the ability or audio input attributes of the speakers.

[0089] The network communicator 540 may be configured to transmit each audio data to a corresponding speaker via a wireless network connection. The network communicator 540 may be equivalent to the wireless communication component as described with reference to FIG. 2.

[0090] For example, the network communicator 540 may be responsible for distributing the processed audio data from the audio device 210 to the speaker through the wireless network (e.g., WLAN or LAN) . In addition, it is also responsible for the interaction between the audio device 210 and the speakers 230, such as some playback control commands. In addition, for the Bluetooth, the network communicator 540 may also be responsible for pairing the audio device 210 with the Bluetooth speaker and transmitting the processed audio data to the secondary Bluetooth speaker. In addition, the playback control command can also be via the Bluetooth protocol.

[0091] In addition, the local speaker manager 550 may receive the audio data and  deliver it to the local speaker for playback. When the local speaker manager 550 does not work, the audio device 210 may be as an adapter of multiple input sources to multiple output sources. The local speaker manager 550 may be implemented as hardware circuits (e.g., the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or software (e.g., a part of the processor-executable instructions executed on the processor 213 of FIG. 2) or their combination.

[0092] More details of each module of the audio device 210 as shown in FIG. 5 may refer to the above description with reference to FIGS. 2-4.

[0093] In another aspect of present disclosure, an audio management method for an audio device is provided. The audio device includes at least one type of wireless communication component, and is connected to a plurality of audio sources and wirelessly connected with a plurality of speakers.

[0094] FIG. 6 schematically illustrates a flowchart of audio management method according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure. The audio management method may be performed by the audio device 210, i.e., the processor 213 of the audio device 210.

[0095] As shown in FIG. 6, at step S610, audio source-speaker linking information is acquired, where the audio source-speaker linking information indicates a correspondence between at least one audio source of the plurality of audio sources (e.g., audio sources S1, S2, …, SM of FIG. 2) and at least one speaker of the plurality of speakers 230 (e.g., speakers 230-1, …, 230-N of FIG. 2) .

[0096] At step 620, wireless communication parameters of each speaker of the at least one speaker is acquired, and a wireless communication component from the at least one type of wireless communication component corresponding to the speaker is determined.

[0097] In step S630, based on the audio source-speaker linking information and for each audio source of the at least one audio source, an audio source signal from the audio source is processed to obtain audio data for each speaker corresponding to the audio source, and distribute the audio data to the speaker via a corresponding wireless communication component.

[0098] More details of operations of each step as shown in FIG. 6 may refer to the above description with reference to FIGS. 2-4.

[0099] Therefore, the audio management method used in the audio device 210 may support the multi-input to multi-output function for audio playback, meanwhile the limitations and inconvenience for implementation of the multi-input to multi-output function may be mitigated.

[0100] Various blocks, components, circuits, processes, algorithms, etc. (collectively referred to as “elements” ) may be implemented using electronic hardware, computer software, or any combination thereof. Whether such elements are implemented as hardware or software depends upon the particular application and design constraints imposed on the overall system.

[0101] By way of example, an element, or any portion of an element, or any combination of elements may be implemented as a “processing system” that includes one or more processors. Examples of processors include microprocessors, microcontrollers, graphics processing units (GPUs) , central processing units (CPUs) , application processors, digital signal processors (DSPs) , reduced instruction set computing (RISC) processors, systems on a chip (SoC) , baseband processors, field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) , programmable logic devices (PLDs) , state machines, gated logic, discrete hardware circuits, and other suitable hardware configured to perform the various functionality described throughout this disclosure. One or more processors in the processing system may execute software. Software shall be construed broadly to mean instructions, instruction sets, code, code segments, processor-executable instructions, programs, subprograms, software components, applications, software applications, software packages, routines, subroutines, objects, executables, threads of execution, procedures, functions, etc., whether referred to as software, firmware, middleware, microcode, hardware description language, or otherwise.

[0102] Accordingly, in one or more example embodiments, the functions described may be implemented in hardware, software, or any combination thereof. If implemented in software, the functions may be stored on or encoded as one or more instructions or processor-executable instructions on a computer-readable medium. Computer-readable media as the memories may include computer storage media. Storage media may be any available media that can be accessed by a computer. By way of example, and not limitation, such computer-readable media can comprise a random-access memory (RAM) , a read-only memory (ROM) , an electrically erasable programmable ROM (EEPROM) , optical disk  storage, magnetic disk storage, other magnetic storage devices, combinations of the aforementioned types of computer-readable media, or any other medium that can be used to store computer executable code in the form of instructions or data structures that can be accessed by a computer.

[0103] Although some embodiments of the present disclosure and advantages thereof have been described in detail, it should be understood that various changes, substitutions, and modifications may be made herein without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure as defined by the appended claims. For example, those ordinarily skilled in the art will easily understand that many of the components, functions, processes, and materials as described herein may be changed while still within the scope of the present disclosure. In addition, the scope of the present disclosure is not intended to be limited to specific embodiments of processes, machines, fabrication, material compositions, tools, methods, and steps as described in the specification. According to the present disclosure, those skilled in the art will easily understand from the disclosure of the present disclosure that existing or later developed processes, machines, fabrication, material compositions, tools, methods or steps that perform substantially the same functions or implement substantially the same results as the corresponding embodiments described herein may be utilized. Therefore, the appended claims aim to include these processes, machines, fabrication, material compositions, tools, methods, or steps within the scope thereof.
