AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing robotic arms are limited by the treatment space and their own rotation direction in neutron capture therapy, making it impossible to make large-scale translational or rotational adjustments. This results in inaccurate positioning of the patient's irradiation site and failure to achieve efficient irradiation.

Method used

A patient support device was designed, including a mounting component and a position adjustment mechanism. The horizontal, vertical position and angle of the mounting component can be adjusted through multiple degrees of freedom of the robotic arm, avoiding motion interference within the treatment space and ensuring reasonable source-skin distance and precise positioning.

Benefits of technology

It achieves efficient and precise positioning of the patient's irradiation site, ensuring reasonable irradiation intensity and treatment effect, and avoiding motion interference.

Abstract

Provided in the present invention are a patient supporting device and a radioactive ray irradiation system. The patient supporting device comprises: a carrying member, used for carrying a subject to be irradiated; and a position adjusting mechanism, which is used for moving the carrying member, the position adjusting mechanism being provided with a fixed portion and a movable portion, the plane on which the fixed portion is mounted being located below the carrying member, one end of the movable portion being connected to the fixed portion, and the other end of the movable portion being connected to the carrying member. The movable portion can move or rotate with respect to the fixed portion, so as to correspondingly adjust the horizontal position, vertical position or angle of the carrying member. The present invention solves the technical problem that existing mechanical arms cannot control carrying members to achieve accurate positioning or irradiation due to the constrained movement space thereof caused by limitations of treatment rooms and the structures of the mechanical arms.
