Description

[0001] DESCRIPTION

[0002] Bicycle derailleur protector

[0003] OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The invention, as the title of this descriptive document states, is a protector for the bicycle derailleur. It is an innovation that offers advantages previously unknown within current techniques.

[0005] TECHNICAL SECTOR

[0006] The present invention falls within the sector of diverse industrial techniques and transport, especially in transport, in the classification of vehicles, equipment or vehicle parts, not provided for elsewhere, especially in other installations for holding or mounting objects.

[0007] Also, in the classification that corresponds to saddles or seats for cycles; auxiliary devices or accessories specially adapted to cycles not provided for elsewhere.

[0008] STATE OF THE ART

[0009] The present invention is developed as an improvement to the bicycle derailleur protectors available on the market.

[0010] This is because current protectors are limited to protecting only the front part of the derailleur, leaving the side exposed to bumps and scratches caused by rocks and branches, especially during rough terrain sports like enduro.

[0011] Consequently, this invention provides a bicycle derailleur guard that allows users to have complete protection safely and without worry.

[0012] Currently, no bicycle derailleur protector is known to exist that presents structural and constitutive technical characteristics equal to or similar to those described in this specification, as claimed. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] The object of the present invention is the creation of a protector for the bicycle derailleur that provides a notable innovation within its field of application in the current state of the art, the characterizing details that make it possible being conveniently included in the final claims that accompany the present description.

[0014] The present invention relates to a bicycle derailleur protector, which comprises an elongated base equipped with plates that attach to the lower chainstay of a bicycle to fix a protector that protects the rear derailleur, without interfering with the chain, both front and sideways, guaranteeing greater durability and protection, especially in rustic environments such as those of mountain sports.

[0015] This innovation solves the safety and durability of the bicycle derailleur.

[0016] This protector is beneficial, especially during enduro riding, where rough terrain and dense vegetation present significant risks.

[0017] The protector is equipped with an elongated base of suitable length and width to fit any lower chainstay of the bicycle.

[0018] This elongated base has an adhesive on its top part that allows for greater adhesion and fixation.

[0019] Additionally, it has plates attached to the side edges of this elongated base, which are intended to attach to the bicycle's chainstay, being secured and held in place by fastening means, such as straps with buckles or ties.

[0020] Conveniently, the screen is made up of a front paddle and a side paddle, joined together at their meeting ends, and is the right size to protect the main body of the rear derailleur from frontal and side impacts.

[0021] Furthermore, to enhance the quality of the invention, the elongated base, plates, and screen are all made of a lightweight, rigid, waterproof material resistant to impacts and extreme temperatures: high-performance thermoplastic. To use the bicycle derailleur protector, the elongated base must first be attached to the bicycle's chainstay using the integrated adhesive, ensuring a secure fit with the plates, which are attached to the chainstay using straps with buckles or cable ties.

[0022] Once installed, the protector guarantees the protection of the bicycle's rear derailleur against frontal and side impacts, providing comprehensive and complete protection, especially during enduro riding.

[0023] EXPLANATION OF THE FIGURES

[0024] To complete the description being made and in order to help in the better understanding of the characteristics of the invention, this descriptive report is accompanied, as an integral part thereof, by some figures in which, for illustrative and non-limiting purposes, the following has been represented.

[0025] Figure 1 shows an external perspective of the bicycle derailleur guard.

[0026] Figure 2 shows an internal perspective of the bicycle derailleur guard.

[0027] Figure 3 shows a side view of the bicycle derailleur guard.

[0028] PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION.

[0029] This invention presents a bicycle derailleur guard, which includes among its components an elongated base (1) equipped with upper plates (2) perpendicular to the main direction of the elongated base (1). These plates (2) are attached to the chainstay of a bicycle. This design allows for the attachment of a screen (3) that protects the rear derailleur without interfering with the chain, either frontally or laterally, ensuring greater durability and protection, especially in rugged environments such as those found in mountain biking.

[0030] In a preferred embodiment, the elongated base (1) is of suitable length and width to fit any bicycle chainstay. It also features an adhesive on its upper surface for enhanced adhesion and secure attachment. Typically, the plates (2) are attached to and protrude from the lateral edges of the elongated base (1) and are designed to engage with the bicycle chainstay, securing and holding them in place using fastening means such as straps with buckles or cable ties.

[0031] Preferably, the screen (3) includes a front paddle (3.1) and a side paddle (3.2) that project slightly outwards and are connected at their opposite ends and are of suitable size to protect the main body of the rear derailleur against frontal and lateral impacts. The front paddle (3.1) is transverse to and attached to the elongated base (1), and the side paddle (3.2) is substantially parallel to the elongated base (1), being positioned after the front paddle (3.1).

[0032] Preferably, both the elongated base (1), as well as the plates (2) and the screen (3) are made of a lightweight, rigid, waterproof material that is resistant to impacts and extreme temperatures, such as high-performance thermoplastic.

[0033] Having sufficiently described the nature of the present invention, as well as the manner of putting it into practice, it is not considered necessary to make its explanation more extensive so that any expert in the field may understand its scope and the advantages that derive from it, it being noted that, within its essentiality, it may be put into practice in other modes of embodiment that differ in detail from the one indicated as an example, and which will also achieve the protection sought provided that its fundamental principle is not altered, changed or modified.
