Abstract
Description
[0001] REFILLABLE MULTI-RECEPTACLES COSMETIC CASE
[0002] FULL DESCRIPTION
[0003] BACKGROUND
[0004] The present invention relates to a cosmetic case. In particular, the present invention relates to a customizable and refillable cosmetic case.
[0005] The personal care and beauty industry generate a lot of plastic waste. The most used cosmetics are packed in different types of single-use plastic containers. Those types are convenient, lightweight and easy to manufacture but they are not recyclable and contribute to global plastic wastes.
[0006] Every year, billions of units of unrecyclable plastic containers are produced from beauty industry. Single-use plastic containers are one of the major sources to environmental pollution, in addition to their contribution to climate changes.
[0007] Generally, the problem with non-recyclable plastic containers is that they might take hundreds of years to decompose. Before its decomposition, plastic waste affects wildlife, ecosystem, marine life and even human health. As a result, efforts have been made in the prior art to develop recyclable eco-friendly cosmetic cases. For example, EP4327692A1 discloses an eco-friendly cosmetic container comprising: a lower container having a cosmetic material accommodation dish seating portion; an upper container open and closed with respect to the lower container by means of a hinge coupling structure; a cosmetic material accommodation dish seated onto the cosmetic material accommodation dish seating portion; and an intermediate support adapted to be rotationally locked and released from the locked state over a given region thereof onto and from the lower container to separably fix the cosmetic material accommodation dish to the lower container.
[0008] Further, WO2022215833A1 discloses a recyclable cosmetic case comprising: a lower container having an accommodation space; an upper cap unit rotatably coupled to the lower container so as to selectively open and close the accommodation space of the lower container; and a refill unit detachably coupled to the lower container to enable refilling by a user and including a refill container body having a filling space filled with cosmetic substances, and a refill cover rotatably coupled to the refill container body so as to selectively open and close the filling space of the refill container body, wherein the upper cap unit includes: a top cover having a groove portion capable of accommodating a mirror; and a mirror fixing member coupled to the top cover so as to prevent the mirror seated in the groove portion of the top cover from becoming arbitrarily removed, and having a ring- shaped body part which brings the edge of the mirror into close contact with the body part such that the rest of the mirror is exposed, and a selective fixing part which allows the ring-shaped body part to be selectively fixed to and separated from the groove portion of the top cover.
[0009] However, there exists a critical unmet need within the market for eco-friendly cosmetic cases. While existing solutions often prioritize sustainability, they fall short in terms of functionality for modem makeup users. Currently available eco-friendly cases typically have a restricted capacity, often only accommodating one or two makeup products. This limitation fails to address the diverse needs of contemporary makeup routines, which often involve a variety of cosmetics. On the other hand, larger eco-friendly cases prioritize capacity at the expense of portability, rendering them unsuitable for carrying on-the-go. The design of traditional cosmetic kits presents additional challenges. The lack of proper organization within these cases often leads to makeup products being exposed, increasing the risk of spills and contamination during application.
[0010] There are some attempts in the prior art for providing a practical cosmetic case. For example, EP1468624A1 discloses a cosmetics case which comprises: a housing having an upper level and a lower level; a cover pivotally mounted to the housing for closing the housing; a cosmetic receptacle disposed on the upper level of the housing; a cosmetic set receiving drawer disposed in the lower level of the housing; and a locking and releasing member system operatively connected with the cover and the cosmetic set receiving drawer, whereby when the user pushes the locking and releasing member, the cover is opened and the cosmetic set receiving drawer is pushed simultaneously for providing access to both the cosmetic receptacle and the cosmetic set receiving drawer.
[0011] CN217429416U discloses a cosmetic case, comprising an upper case body and a lower case body hinged to each other, characterized in that a groove is arranged on the bottom surface of the inner part of the lower case body; The lower box is divided into several storage cavities by partitions, the lower ends of the partitions are fixed in the grooves, and the several partitions form an H-shaped partition structure, and the inner and outer surfaces of the lower box are provided with a skin, the inner wall of the storage cavity is also provided with a skin, the skin of the inner surface of the lower box body and the skin of the inner wall of the storage cavity are sewed and connected, and the inner and outer surfaces of the upper box body are provided with a cover. The skin on the inner and outer surfaces of the lower-case body is sewed and connected with the skin on the inner and outer surfaces of the upper-case body. The skin of the cover plate is connected with the skin of the inner surface of the lower box body. However, there remains a need for eco-friendly cosmetic cases that offer ample capacity for a variety of makeup products while maintaining a compact and portable design for easy travel or everyday use. Additionally, customizability is desired to allow users to tailor the case to their individual needs. Furthermore, an effective refillable system is needed for both organization and protection of makeup products, preventing contamination and ensuring optimal application, especially for professionals.
