Description

[0001] HANDLE-INTEGRATED SHIPPING BAG

[0002] Technical Field:

[0003] The present invention relates to shipping bags used for the delivery of products purchased from shopping centers to consumers via cargo systems.

[0004] The invention concerns a handled shipping bag in which handles are integrated into the bag during the production process, resulting in a handled structure, and which bears the logo of the cargo company responsible for delivering the product to the desired destination.

[0005] Prior Art:

[0006] With the growth of online shopping culture, the shipment volume handled by cargo companies has increased significantly. Undoubtedly, shipping bags play a major role in the delivery of products to consumers.

[0007] As is commonly known, shipping bags are generally manufactured from plastic-based materials commonly referred to as nylon. Such bags typically include a promotional surface on which the company’s logo and advertisement appear, and an additional pocket or label area containing the customer's address information. In general, shipping bags have a square or rectangular shape and consist of a carrying compartment, an opening edge, and adhesive surfaces formed at the mouth of the bag.

[0008] After delivery to the consumer, the product inside the shipping bag is usually removed with excitement, and the bag is discarded. However, these bags are produced using high- quality materials. Disposing of them after a single use represents a loss of national resources, as well as inefficient use of existing materials and an increase in waste. This directly causes environmental pollution and leads to plastic waste accumulation in our seas.

[0009] Various applications exist in the prior art that aim to overcome these disadvantages.

[0010] For example, U.S. Patent No. US2021122530A1 discloses a plastic transport bag comprising a closure flap that extends beyond the front wall, can be folded over the outer surface of the front wall, and includes a pass-through opening configured and designed for the insertion of a handle loop from either the front or rear wall. The flap includes at least one securing means located between the opening edge of the rear wall and the pass- through opening. This securing means is configured and designed to seal the edge of the opening when the flap is folded over the outer surface of the front wall. The plastic transport bag may be used for transporting food items such as chilled products.

[0011] In the transport bag described in the aforementioned U.S. patent, although the handles are mounted inside the bag, they are designed to be visible from the outside. However, this structure does not offer practical use for shipping bags. Therefore, it is insufficient in providing a functional alternative to existing shipping bags. The related invention aims to facilitate the transportation of chilled food products by means of an integrated handle, but it fails to meet the technical need for a portable, low-cost, convertible shipping bag that can transform into a reusable bag and provides improved carrying functionality.

[0012] In Japanese Patent No. JP2020114756A, a bag body is described comprising foldable and expandable handles placed on the inner side of each of the first and second end edge portions, and a cover protruding from the first end edge portion and covering the opening. In this invention, after placing items into the carrying bag, the first separation layer of the cover is peeled off, and the first attachment portion is adhered to the upper edge of the second side. In this way, the first sealing of the carrying bag is completed. Later, the carrying bag is reopened by tearing off a cut portion from the cover.

[0013] The aforementioned Japanese patent describes a carrying bag with a cover mechanism that allows multiple sealings. However, the invention does not include a perforation segment commonly found in conventional shipping bags and, due to its bulky cover system, does not offer a practical alternative for regular shipping bag usage.

[0014] In PCT Application No. WO2022180419A1, a cargo package and a reusable bag are disclosed. While the bag is stated to be suitable for repeated use, no technical details are provided regarding the structural properties of the handles, the type of material used, or the method of attachment to the bag body. This results in functional uncertainties, especially in terms of carrying durability and product lifespan. Additionally, no technical measures are proposed to mitigate the risk of the handles detaching from the bag body. In light of today’s growing need for long-lasting and robust bags for environmental sustainability and resource efficiency, the necessity has become apparent for using handles made of nonwoven fabric and firmly affixing these handles to the main body through ultrasonic welding as the preferred attachment method. Such a structure ensures both production integrity and safe carrying performance during use.

[0015] Chinese Model Application No. CN212501795U discloses an environmentally friendly shopping bag for express delivery. However, in this application, no information is provided about the material characteristics of the handles or the method of attachment to the body, and no technical solution is offered in terms of carrying durability and longterm usability. This is particularly inadequate in addressing structural and environmental needs such as attaching handles made of nonwoven fabric using ultrasonic welding.

[0016] In Application No. US2011155794A1, a reusable carrying container is disclosed, comprising first and second fastening members positioned to close the opening in addition to the body element. In the described structure, connections are made using traditional methods such as stitching or adhesive. However, such joining techniques may deform overtime and may prove inadequate, particularly in terms of handle durability. Moreover, the application does not propose any technical solution regarding the handle material, ergonomics, or enhancements to carrying strength. This underscores the need for a lightweight, durable, cost-effective, and long-lasting structure in which handles made of nonwoven fabric are attached to the bag body using ultrasonic welding. Consequently, due to the aforementioned drawbacks and the insufficiency of existing solutions; a need has arisen for a bag with handles made of nonwoven fabric and fixed to the main body by ultrasonic welding, aiming to enhance the reusability of shipping bags and prevent waste.

[0017] Summary of the Invention:

[0018] The objective of the invention is to present a product with distinct technical features, offering a novel approach compared to existing structures in the prior art.

[0019] A primary objective of the invention is to form the handles inside the shipping bag during the production stage.

[0020] Another important objective of the invention is to enable the reuse of the bag by integrating handles during the production of the shipping bag.

[0021] A further objective of the invention is to preserve national resources and ensure proper and efficient use of materials through the repeated use of the bag.

[0022] Another goal is to prevent waste through the reuse of the bag, thereby resulting in a product with high added value.

[0023] An additional objective of the invention is to eliminate the consumer's instinct to discard the bag upon noticing the hidden handles inside, thereby encouraging reuse. This helps reduce waste generation and supports efforts to lower the carbon footprint by giving the consumer the impression of acquiring a new bag.

[0024] A final objective of the invention is to present an environmentally friendly product that contributes positively to climate and sustainability within the framework of social responsibility.

[0025] The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood with reference to the figures provided below and the detailed description based on those figures. [0035] Figure 1 illustrates a shipping bag (10) comprising a main body (11). The invention, in terms of its novelty, includes opposing handles (12) formed inside the main body (11).

[0036] During the production stage, the handles (12) are affixed to the inner surface of the main body (11) via adhesive bonding, ultrasonic welding, or thermal processing. The handles (12) may be composed of nonwoven fabric, nylon, or other plastic-based materials.

[0037] While products are placed into the shipping bag (10), the handles (12) remain inside the bag. The handles (12) are not visible from the outside. Once the shipping bag (10) reaches the consumer and the contents are removed, the presence of the handles (12) is directly observed by the user. This discovery encourages the consumer to reuse the bag. Thus, a novel shipping bag (10) is provided, allowing for the bag's repeated use without causing waste generation.

[0038] The invention features handles (12) that are folded and affixed to the inner surface of the main body (11) in a manner that renders them invisible from the outside. Furthermore, while the handles (12) are ultrasonically welded to the main body (11), the weld zone includes reinforced support bands to ensure added strength.
