Abstract
Description
[0001] A COOLING CYCLE
[0002] FIELD OF INVENTION
[0003] The invention relates to cooling cycles with refrigerant lines in which cooling fluids are circulated.
[0004] BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0005] Waste heat can be generated at the end of many production processes. In the processes mentioned above, water or similar fluids are used to cool various components. During the rest of the process, the fluid used for cooling also needs to be cooled. In general, cooling towers are used for this process in the industry. However, in this case, depending on the amount and temperature of the fluid, there may be a need for very large cooling towers or a large amount of evaporation may occur. These situations also entail significant costs.
[0006] On the other hand, although cooling cycles used for cooling the environment or various fluids are well known in the art, reducing the amount of energy required for these cycles to occur or obtaining this energy from natural sources is among the primary objectives of experts.
[0007] As a result, all of the above-mentioned problems have made it necessary to introduce innovations in the relevant technical field.
[0008] SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0009] The present invention relates to a cooling cycle for eliminating the above- mentioned disadvantages and bringing new advantages to the relevant technical field. The purpose of the invention is to provide a cooling cycle with reduced operating costs for the elimination of waste heat.
[0010] Another objective of the invention is to provide a cooling cycle that utilizes heat obtained from natural sources.
[0011] In order to achieve all of the objectives mentioned above and those that will become apparent from the detailed description below, the present invention relates to a cooling cycle comprising a refrigerant line through which a refrigerant is circulated. Accordingly, the cooling cycle subject to the invention includes a hot water line that intersects with the aforementioned refrigerant line at least at one point and through which hot water flows, and
[0012] On the refrigerant line; a first evaporator where the hot water line intersects with the refrigerant line and the refrigerant absorbs heat from the hot water line, increasing its temperature, a first condenser where the refrigerant exiting the first evaporator cools and becomes liquid, an expansion valve where the refrigerant passing through the first condenser cools further, a second evaporator where a fluid is cooled by the refrigerant, a second condenser where the temperature of the refrigerant is reduced, and a pump that sends the refrigerant passing through the second condenser to the first evaporator. Thus, the energy requirement of the cycle is reduced by using the heat from the water coming from the hot water line in the cooling cycle.
[0013] In a possible embodiment of the invention, the fluid cooled in the second evaporator is hot water from the hot water line.
[0014] In a possible configuration of the invention, the hot water line is supplied with hot water containing waste heat. Thus, water that is to be cooled and contains waste heat can be cooled by utilizing its own heat.
[0015] In a possible configuration of the invention, the fluid cooled in the second evaporator is a secondary fluid passing through a secondary fluid line. This allows a different fluid to be cooled in the cooling cycle, thereby cooling the interior of an environment or cabinet.
[0016] In a possible configuration of the invention, at least one heater is provided to supply hot water to the hot water line. Thus, even if there is no water with waste heat, the cooling cycle can be operated using water heated in the heater.
[0017] In a possible configuration of the invention, it is structured to use natural energy sources as a heating energy source. Thus, an environmentally friendly cooling cycle is created.
[0018] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0019] Figure 1 shows a schematic representation of the cooling cycle, in which hot water containing waste heat is cooled.
[0020] Figure 2 shows a schematic representation of the cooling cycle, in which a secondary fluid is cooled.
[0021] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBABLE EMBODIMENT(S)
[0022] In this detailed description, a cooling cycle (10) is explained with references to examples without forming any restrictive effect in order to make the subject more understandable.
[0023] The invention relates to a cooling cycle (10) which essentially takes place in a closed cycle in a refrigerant line (20) through which a refrigerant is circulated. The cooling cycle (10) described above performs the cooling process by intersecting with the hot water line (30) containing waste heat in a possible configuration. In another possible configuration, the cycle is essentially achieved by using the heat of water heated by energy from a natural energy source to cool the fluid in a secondary fluid line (40). In detail, in the first embodiment of the invention, a refrigerant is circulated within the cooling cycle (10). The refrigerant line (20) and the hot water line (30) first intersect in a first evaporator (21 ). Hot water containing waste heat from the hot water line (30) enters the first evaporator (21) on one side, while liquid refrigerant enters from the refrigerant line (20) on the other side. At the outlet of the first evaporator (21 ), the temperature of the water in the hot water line (30) drops slightly, while the refrigerant in the cooling cycle (10) transitions to the vapour phase and its pressure increases.
[0024] The refrigerant first enters a first condenser (22) downstream of the cooling line, where it is cooled by heat transfer with the external environment and becomes liquid. It then enters an expansion valve (23) and the temperature is further reduced. In a possible configuration, the refrigerant reaches a lower temperature than the hot water coming out of the first evaporator (21).
[0025] Subsequently, the refrigerant line (20) and the hot water line (30) intersect again in a second evaporator (24). In the second evaporator (24), the temperature of the water coming from the hot water line (30) is further reduced. At this point, the temperature of the refrigerant increases and it becomes a mixture of vapour and liquid.
[0026] The refrigerant flow line then enters a second condenser (25) and is cooled further. The aim here is to ensure that the refrigerant reaches the first condenser (22) at a sufficiently low temperature once the cycle is complete. Here, the aim is to keep the refrigerant as cool as possible, at a lower temperature than the fluid in the hot water line (30).
[0027] The refrigerant flowing out of the second condenser (25) is returned to the first evaporator (21 ) by a pump (26).
[0028] Thanks to the structures mentioned above, the waste heat in the hot water line (30) is utilized to cool the cooling cycle (10) and cool the water in the hot water line (30). In another possible embodiment of the invention, the secondary fluid line (40) is connected to the second evaporator (24) instead of the hot water line (30). Thus, cooling of a secondary fluid is achieved by means of a cooling cycle (10) using heat taken from the hot water line (30). In the structure described, the hot water line (30) is heated in a heater (31 ). The heater (31 ) referred to is preferably equipped with a system that uses natural energy sources. For example, a hot water line (30) may be connected to a solar panel to form a structure in which heated water is circulated. In this structure, the cooling cycle (10) is performed using water heated by the sun. The secondary fluid line (40) associated with the second evaporator (24) can also be used to cool an environment or cabin.
[0029] As a result, the invention provides for the effective cooling of fluids by utilizing natural resources or waste heat with the cooling cycle (10). In classic cooling cycles, there is no need to use a pump to pressurize the refrigerant and keep the system running, thereby reducing energy consumption compared to classic cooling cycles.
[0030] The protection scope of the present invention is set forth in the annexed claims and cannot be restricted to the illustrative disclosures given above, under the detailed description. It is because a person skilled in the relevant art can obviously produce similar embodiments in the light of the foregoing disclosures, without departing from the main principles of the present invention.
