Abstract
Description
Absorbent pet products
[0001] The present disclosure relates to absorbent articles for pets.
[0002] Patent Document 1 describes an absorbent article for pets that includes a liquid-permeable top sheet, an absorbent core containing a superabsorbent polymer, a liquid-impermeable back sheet, and an exterior body. A pair of fastening tapes is provided on the ventral side of the absorbent article for pets, and a slip-preventing portion is provided on the dorsal side of the absorbent article for pets. The slip-preventing portion has a peel adhesive strength of 0.10 N / cm or more and 0.55 N / cm or less. In this absorbent article for pets, the slip-preventing portion adheres to the back of the pet, thereby preventing the absorbent article for pets from slipping.
[0003] Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2022-154863
[0004] In the above-mentioned absorbent articles for pets, the adhesive anti-slip portion is directly attached to the pet's body, which may cause the pet to lose hair or develop rough skin. Therefore, there is room for improvement in the comfort of the above-mentioned absorbent articles for pets.
[0005] Therefore, an object of the present disclosure is to prevent slippage of an absorbent article for pets while ensuring comfort.
[0006] The absorbent article for pets according to one aspect includes a top sheet arranged on the skin-facing side, a back sheet arranged on the non-skin-facing side, and an absorbent body arranged between the top sheet and the back sheet, and is provided with a main body having a ventral region that covers the abdomen of the pet when worn, a back region that covers the back of the pet when worn, and a crotch region arranged between the ventral region and the back region in the longitudinal direction, and a pair of fastening tabs that are provided in the ventral region of the main body and engage with the back region from the non-skin-facing side, and the main body is arranged outside the absorbent body in the width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The fastening tabs extend outward in the width direction from the pair of flap portions, and an adhesive portion having adhesive properties is provided on the skin-facing surface of at least one of the pair of fastening tabs and the pair of flap portions, and the adhesive portion is arranged on a straight line connecting the pair of fastening tabs or in a region between the straight line connecting the pair of fastening tabs and the center line of the main body portion in the longitudinal direction, and is configured to come into contact with the back region of the main body portion from the non-skin-facing side when the pair of fastening tabs engage with the back region of the main body portion.
[0007] In the pet absorbent article according to the above aspect, when the pair of fastening tabs engage with the back region of the main body, the adhesive portion contacts the back region from the non-skin-facing side, and the adhesive strength of the adhesive portion prevents the pet absorbent article from slipping. Furthermore, because the adhesive portion is configured to contact the back region from the non-skin-facing side without directly contacting the pet's body, the adhesive strength of the adhesive portion prevents the pet from losing hair or developing rough skin. This ensures the comfort of the pet absorbent article.
[0008] In one aspect, the adhesive portion may be provided on the skin-facing surface of each fastening tab. In this aspect, when the adhesive portion comes into contact with the back region of the main body, the adhesive force increases the engagement force of the pair of fastening tabs. By firmly joining the pair of fastening tabs to the back region of the main body, it is possible to prevent the absorbent article for pets from slipping.
[0009] In one embodiment, the width of each flap portion in the rear region may be greater than the width of the fastening tabs, in which case the pair of flaps in the rear region are interposed between the pet's body and the pair of fastening tabs, preventing the adhesive portion from coming into direct contact with the pet's body.
[0010] In one aspect, each of the pair of fastening tabs has an engaging portion including a plurality of hooks for engagement, and the adhesive portion may be located inward in the width direction from the engaging portion. In this aspect, when the engaging portions of the pair of fastening tabs engage with the back region of the main body portion, the adhesive portion can be brought into contact with the back region from the non-skin-facing side.
[0011] In one aspect, each of the pair of fastening tabs may include a non-adhesive portion between the engagement portion and the adhesive portion, which does not have adhesiveness. In this aspect, the non-adhesive portion formed between the engagement portion and the adhesive portion allows movement of the pet, thereby effectively preventing the absorbent article for pets from shifting.
[0012] In one aspect, the main body further includes a target portion provided in the back region and adapted to engage with the pair of fastening tabs, and the peel strength of the adhesive portion relative to the target portion may be lower than the peel strength of each fastening tab relative to the target portion. By making the peel strength of the adhesive portion relatively low, when a strong force is applied to the pair of fastening tabs, the adhesive portion shifts in response to the movement of the pet, thereby preventing the pet from being hindered. This ensures the comfort of the absorbent article for pets.
[0013] In one embodiment, the absorbent body may have a rectangular planar shape. In this case, the area of the absorbent body can be increased, thereby improving the urine absorption of the absorbent article for pets.
[0014] In one aspect, the main body portion has a fold line extending in the width direction, and the width of the absorbent body on the fold line may be equal to or greater than the width of the absorbent body's edge in the longitudinal direction. Pulp or the like in the absorbent body may be unevenly distributed along the fold line, resulting in a localized reduction in the absorbent body's basis weight. In response to this, by relatively increasing the width of the absorbent body along the fold line, the absorbency of the absorbent body along the fold line can be ensured. This can prevent urinary leakage.
[0015] In one aspect, the absorbent body includes an absorbent core having water absorption properties and a core wrap covering the absorbent core, and core wrap ends are formed on the outer sides of the absorbent body in the width direction, where a part of the core wrap is in direct contact with another part of the core wrap, and the core wrap ends may extend in the longitudinal direction. In this aspect, the rigidity of the absorbent body is reduced at the core wrap ends, thereby improving the feel of the absorbent article for pets.
[0016] In one aspect, the backsheet includes a water-impermeable back film and a back nonwoven fabric disposed on the non-skin-facing side of the back film, and the edge of the back film in the width direction may be exposed at the edge of the main body portion in the width direction. In this aspect, the rigidity of the edge of the main body portion in the width direction can be increased, making it difficult for the edge of the main body portion in the width direction to roll up when the absorbent article for pets is worn.
[0017] In one embodiment, the back surface film and the back surface nonwoven fabric may be bonded to each other at the widthwise edge of the main body portion, which can improve the feel of the absorbent article for pets at the widthwise edge of the main body portion.
[0018] In one embodiment, the absorbent body has embossed compressed portions, and the compressed portions may be formed in a lattice pattern on the absorbent body when viewed from the skin-facing side. In this embodiment, the rigidity of the absorbent body can be increased, thereby preventing the absorbent body from collapsing.
[0019] In one aspect, a part of the compressed portions may be formed on an edge of the absorbent body in the longitudinal direction or width direction. In this aspect, corners of the edge of the absorbent body are removed at the positions where the compressed portions are formed, thereby improving the feel against the skin when the absorbent article for pets is worn.
[0020] In one embodiment, the backsheet includes a water-impermeable back film and a back nonwoven fabric disposed on the non-skin-facing side of the back film, and the width of the target portion in the width direction may be wider than the width of the back film in the width direction. By making the target portion relatively wider, the pair of fastening tabs can be engaged with the target portion at appropriate positions that fit the pet's body shape.
[0021] In one aspect, the absorbent body further comprises a pair of leak-preventing gathers that include an elastic member that is stretchable in the longitudinal direction and that can stand up outside the absorbent body in the width direction in response to contraction of the elastic member, the main body having a ventral edge that is positioned along the pet's abdomen when worn, a dorsal edge that is positioned along the pet's back when worn, and a tail hole for inserting the pet's tail, and the standing support points on the dorsal edge of the pair of leak-preventing gathers may be formed in a position in the longitudinal direction closer to the ventral edge than the tail hole. By positioning the standing support points on the dorsal edge of the pair of leak-preventing gathers in a position closer to the ventral edge than the tail hole, it is possible to prevent urine that has flowed along the pair of leak-preventing gathers from leaking through the tail hole.
[0022] In one embodiment, the tail hole is located between the rear edge and the rear edge of the absorbent body. In this embodiment, areas where no absorbent body is located are formed on both sides of the tail hole in the width direction and on the rear edge. These areas have low rigidity and therefore flexibly deform along the pet's buttocks. This improves the fit of the absorbent article for pets.
[0023] According to the present disclosure, it is possible to prevent the absorbent article for pets from shifting while ensuring comfort.
[0024] Fig. 1 is a plan view of an absorbent article for pets according to one embodiment, as seen from the skin-facing side. Fig. 2 is a plan view of the absorbent article for pets shown in Fig. 1, as seen from the non-skin-facing side. Fig. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the absorbent article for pets taken along line A-A in Fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a plan view of an absorbent body, as seen from the skin-facing side. Fig. 5 is a diagram showing a state in which the absorbent article for pets is worn. Fig. 6 is a plan view of an absorbent article for pets according to another embodiment, as seen from the skin-facing side.
[0025] Hereinafter, embodiments of the present disclosure will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the description of the drawings, the same elements are designated by the same reference numerals, and duplicate explanations will be omitted. The drawings may be partially simplified or exaggerated for ease of understanding, and the dimensional ratios are not limited to those shown in the drawings.
[0026] FIG. 1 is a plan view of an absorbent article for pets 1 (hereinafter simply referred to as "absorbent article 1") according to one embodiment, as viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. FIG. 2 is a plan view of the absorbent article 1 as viewed from the non-skin-facing side Z2. FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the absorbent article 1 taken along line A-A shown in FIG. 1. FIGS. 1 and 2 show the absorbent article 1 in an unfolded state, in which the absorbent article 1 has been stretched to a state in which no wrinkles are formed. In the following description, the positional relationship in the unfolded state will be described unless otherwise specified. The absorbent article 1 shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 is a disposable pet diaper that absorbs urine from pets.
[0027] The skin-facing side Z1 is the side that faces the pet's skin when the absorbent article 1 is worn, and the non-skin-facing side Z2 is the side that faces away from the pet's skin when the absorbent article 1 is worn. In the following description, the person who puts the absorbent article 1 on a pet is referred to as the "user." Typically, the user is the pet's owner.
[0028] In this specification, the term "pet" broadly encompasses vertebrates and invertebrates, and typically includes pets such as dogs, cats, rabbits, and hamsters. As shown in FIG. 1 , the absorbent article 1 extends in a width direction X, which is aligned along the pet's waist, and a longitudinal direction Y, which connects the pet's ventral side to its dorsal side. The width direction X and the longitudinal direction Y are perpendicular to each other. The thickness direction Z is perpendicular to the width direction X and the longitudinal direction Y, and includes a skin-facing side Z1 that faces the pet's skin when worn, and a non-skin-facing side Z2 that faces the side opposite the pet's skin when worn. As shown in FIG. 5 , the absorbent article 1 is worn to cover the pet's ventral side, through the crotch area, and to its dorsal side.
[0029] The absorbent article 1 has a main body portion 2 and a pair of fastening tabs 90. The main body portion 2 extends in the width direction X and the longitudinal direction Y. The main body portion 2 has a ventral region 51 that covers the abdomen of the pet when worn, a dorsal region 52 that covers the back of the pet when worn, and a crotch region 53 that is disposed between the ventral region 51 and the dorsal region 52 in the longitudinal direction Y. In the following description, the direction from the dorsal region 52 to the ventral region 51 may be referred to as the "ventral side," and the direction from the ventral region 51 to the dorsal region 52 may be referred to as the "dorsal side."
[0030] 1 to 3, the main body 2 includes a top sheet 10, a back sheet 20, and an absorbent body 30. The top sheet 10 constitutes the surface of the main body 2 that comes into contact with the pet, and is disposed on the skin-facing side Z1. The top sheet 10 is water-permeable, allowing the pet's urine to pass through to the absorbent body side.
[0031] The backsheet 20 forms the surface of the main body 2 that is positioned on the outside when worn, and is arranged on the non-skin-facing side Z2. The backsheet 20 includes a non-water-permeable back film 21 and a back nonwoven fabric 22 that is arranged closer to the non-skin-facing side Z2 than the back film 21. In the width direction X, the width of the back film 21 is narrower than the width of the back nonwoven fabric 22, and the back nonwoven fabric 22 extends beyond the back film 21 to both sides in the width direction X. The back nonwoven fabric 22 forms the outermost layer of the absorbent article 1. Note that the backsheet 20 does not have to include both the back film 21 and the back nonwoven fabric 22, and may be composed of only one of the back film 21 and the back nonwoven fabric 22.
[0032] In the width direction X, the width of the back surface film 21 may be substantially the same as the width of the back surface nonwoven fabric 22, and the edges of the back surface film 21 in the width direction X may be exposed at the side edges 2S of the main body 2 in the width direction X. By making the width of the back surface film 21 the same as the width of the back surface nonwoven fabric 22, the rigidity of the side edges 2S of the main body 2 in the width direction X can be increased, making it less likely that the side edges 2S of the main body 2 will roll up when worn. In addition, the back surface film 21 and the back surface nonwoven fabric 22 may be bonded to each other with a hot melt adhesive at the side edges 2S in the width direction X. In addition, as shown in FIG. 3 , the width of the back surface film 21 is smaller than the width of the back surface nonwoven fabric 22, and the edges of the back surface film 21 in the width direction X may not be exposed at the side edges 2S of the main body 2 in the width direction X.
[0033] The absorbent body 30 is disposed between the top sheet 10 and the back sheet 20. The absorbent body 30 absorbs pet urine. The absorbent body 30 has a generally rectangular shape extending in the longitudinal direction Y. In one embodiment, the absorbent body 30 includes an absorbent core 31 containing absorbent pulp and a polymeric absorbent (SAP), and a core wrap 32 covering the surface of the absorbent core. The pulp used in the absorbent core 31 may be, for example, chemical pulp, cellulose fiber, rayon, acetate, or other cellulose fibers. The polymeric absorbent may be, for example, a starch-based, acrylic acid-based, or amino acid-based particulate or fibrous polymer. Typically, the core wrap 32 is made of a water-permeable material such as tissue or nonwoven fabric.
[0034] 3 , the core wrap 32 covers the upper and lower surfaces of the absorbent core 31. In one embodiment, a core wrap end 33 may be formed on the outer side of the absorbent core 31 in the width direction X, where a part (upper layer) of the core wrap 32 is in direct contact with another part (lower layer) of the core wrap 32. In other words, the core wrap end 33 is a region where the absorbent core 31 is not provided between the core wraps 32. The core wrap end 33 extends in the longitudinal direction Y along the outer edge of the absorbent core 31 in the width direction X.
[0035] FIG. 4 is a plan view of the absorbent body 30 as viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. As shown in FIG. 4, in one embodiment, the absorbent body 30 has a rectangular planar shape when viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. That is, the width of the absorbent body 30 in the width direction X is approximately constant in the longitudinal direction Y. As shown in FIG. 4, the absorbent body 30 has compressed portions 35. The compressed portions 35 are regions that are compressed from the skin-facing side Z1 toward the non-skin-facing side Z2 by embossing. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 4, the compressed portions 35 are formed in a lattice pattern when viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. More specifically, the compressed portions 35 include a plurality of first compressed grooves 36 extending along a first direction that is inclined with respect to the longitudinal direction Y and the width direction X, and a plurality of second compressed grooves 37 extending along a second direction that intersects the first direction. The plurality of first compressed grooves 36 are arranged at approximately equal intervals in the second direction and extend linearly in the first direction. The plurality of second compressed grooves 37 are arranged at approximately equal intervals in the first direction and extend linearly in the second direction. The plurality of first compressed grooves 36 and the plurality of second compressed grooves 37 intersect with each other.
[0036] 4 , the first compressed grooves 36 and the second compressed grooves 37 extend continuously across the entire absorbent body 30 in the width direction X along the first and second directions, respectively. Therefore, part of the compressed sections 35 is formed on the edge of the absorbent body 30 in the width direction X or the longitudinal direction Y. By forming part of the compressed sections 35 on the edge of the absorbent body 30, the corners of the edge of the absorbent body 30 are removed at the positions where the compressed sections 35 are formed. This improves the feel against the skin when the absorbent article 1 is worn. Note that extending continuously means that the first compressed grooves 36 and the second compressed grooves 37 are uninterrupted.
[0037] As shown in FIG. 1 , the main body 2 has a pair of flap portions 40 arranged outside the absorbent body 30 in the width direction X. The pair of flap portions 40 includes a pair of ventral flap portions 40F formed in the ventral region 51 and a pair of dorsal flap portions 40R formed in the dorsal region 52. The pair of ventral flap portions 40F and the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R protrude outward in the width direction X in the ventral region 51 and the dorsal region 52, respectively. The pair of ventral flap portions 40F define a pair of leg openings 40s for passing the hind legs of a pet. By providing the pair of ventral flap portions 40F and the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R, the widths of the ventral region 51 and the dorsal region 52 in the width direction X are larger than the width of the crotch region 53 in the width direction X.
[0038] The pair of fastening tabs 90 extend outward in the width direction X from the pair of abdominal flap portions 40F. The pair of fastening tabs 90 have a rectangular shape that is long in the width direction X when viewed from the skin-facing side Z1, and are arranged close to the abdominal edge 2F in the longitudinal direction Y of the main body portion 2. The pair of fastening tabs 90 extend outward in the width direction X from the side edge 2S of the main body portion 2. Each of the pair of fastening tabs 90 has a base sheet 91 joined to the abdominal flap portion 40F and an engaging portion 92 provided on the base sheet 91. The engaging portion 92 is arranged on the skin-facing side Z1 of the fastening tab 90. The engaging portion 92 is, for example, a mechanical fastener including a plurality of hooks for engagement, and is configured to be joinable to a target portion 45 formed on the non-skin-facing side Z2 of the main body portion 2.
[0039] The target portion 45 is provided on the non-skin-facing side Z2 of the back region 52 of the main body portion 2. As shown in FIG. 2 , the target portion 45 has a strip-like shape extending in the width direction X. The target portion 45 is made of, for example, a nonwoven fabric. To increase rigidity, the nonwoven fabric constituting the target portion 45 may be formed with an uneven surface. In one embodiment, as shown in FIG. 2 , the width W1 of the target portion 45 in the width direction X is wider than the width W2 of the back surface film 21 in the width direction X. Note that the main body portion 2 may not include the target portion 45, and the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 may be configured to be directly joined to the back surface nonwoven fabric 22 of the back sheet 20.
[0040] 1 , the width W3 of the back flap portion 40R in the width direction X may be larger than the width W4 of the fastening tab 90 in the width direction X. By making the width W3 of the back flap portion 40R larger than the width W4 of the fastening tab 90, when the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 are engaged with the target portion 45, the pair of back flap portions 40R are disposed on the skin-facing side Z1 of the pair of fastening tabs 90.
[0041] As shown in FIG. 1 , the pair of fastening tabs 90 have adhesive portions 95. The adhesive portions 95 are provided on the skin-facing side Z1 of the base sheet 91 of each fastening tab 90. That is, the adhesive portions 95 are provided on a straight line SL connecting the pair of fastening tabs 90. The adhesive portions 95 have an adhesive strength of 0.10 N / cm or more and 0.55 N / cm or less, for example, when measuring the "180° peel adhesion strength from a test plate" specified in JIS Z 0237:2009. For example, the adhesive portions 95 are formed by applying an adhesive to the skin-facing side Z1 of the base sheet 91 of the fastening tab 90. Note that the adhesive portions 95 may also be formed by attaching a highly adhesive sheet, such as rubber or urethane, to the skin-facing side Z1 of the base sheet 91 of the fastening tab 90.
[0042] When the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 are engaged with the target portions 45 of the main body portion 2, the adhesive portions 95 are configured to come into contact with the back region 52 of the main body portion 2 (e.g., the back flap portion 40R or the target portion 45) from the non-skin-facing side Z2. When the adhesive portions 95 come into contact with the back region 52 of the main body portion 2, the adhesive force thereof suppresses slippage of the absorbent article 1. The peel strength of the adhesive portions 95 with respect to the target portion 45 may be lower than the peel strength of the engaging portions 92 of the fastening tabs 90 with respect to the target portion 45. Peel strength refers to the force required to peel the engaging portions 92 or the adhesive portions 95 from the target portion 45. As described above, when a weak force is applied to the absorbent article 1, the adhesive force of the adhesive portions 95 suppresses slippage of the absorbent article 1. In contrast, the adhesive portion 95 has a relatively weak peel strength, so when a strong force is applied to the absorbent article 1, the adhesive portion 95 detaches from the back region 52 of the main body portion 2, allowing the absorbent article 1 to shift. This prevents the pet from being hindered in its movements. Note that if the main body portion 2 does not include a target portion 45, the peel strength of the adhesive portion 95 from the back nonwoven fabric 22 may be configured to be lower than the peel strength of the engaging portion 92 of the fastening tab 90 from the back nonwoven fabric 22. The peel strength of the engaging portion 92 and the adhesive portion 95 can be measured by the <Peel Strength Test> described below.
[0043] <Peel Strength Test> 1. Prepare a first test piece (a test piece of the engagement portion 92 or adhesive portion 95) and a second test piece (a test piece of the target portion 45 or back surface nonwoven fabric 22). The first test piece and the second test piece have the same dimensions (for example, 10 mm x 30 mm). 2. Place the first test piece and the second test piece on top of each other with their engagement surfaces facing each other, and apply a pressure of 300 mmHg to the first test piece and the second test piece for one minute so that the first test piece and the second test piece are compressed. 3. Apply cloth tape to the edges of the first test piece and the second test piece that correspond to one common side, creating gripping portions (cloth tape attached to the first test piece and cloth tape attached to the second test piece). 4. The measurement atmosphere is kept at constant temperature and humidity (20±2°C, 60±5% RH), and the gripped portion of each test specimen is clamped between two chucks of a tensile tester (e.g., Shimadzu Corporation's Autograph AG-50-NXplus HS, etc.) to fix it. 5. The load of the tensile tester is set to 0, and the measurement is started. Specifically, the gripped portion of each test specimen is pulled in opposite directions along a direction parallel to the opposing direction at a speed of 100 mm / min. 6. After the measurement is completed (after the two test specimens are peeled), the maximum load (N / 100 mm) measured during the measurement is read. 7. The above measurements 1 to 6 are performed on multiple (e.g., three sets) of first and second test specimens, and the average of the measurement results of each set (the maximum load obtained in "6.") is obtained as the final measurement result (peel strength).
[0044] As shown in FIG. 1 , the adhesive portion 95 is disposed inward of the engagement portion 92 in the width direction X. For example, the adhesive portion 95 is disposed between the outer edge of the abdominal flap portion 40F in the width direction X and the engagement portion 92. A non-adhesive portion 96, which does not have adhesiveness, may be disposed between the engagement portion 92 and the adhesive portion 95. By forming the non-adhesive portion 96 between the engagement portion 92 and the adhesive portion 95, movement of the fastening tab 90 is permitted in the region inside the engagement portion 92 in the width direction X, thereby preventing interference with the pet's movement. In the embodiment shown in FIG. 1 , the adhesive portion 95 is disposed outward of the abdominal flap portion 40F in the width direction X as viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. However, the adhesive portion 95 may be disposed in a position where it partially or entirely overlaps with the abdominal flap portion 40F as viewed from the skin-facing side Z1.
[0045] In one embodiment, the absorbent article 1 further includes a pair of leakage-preventing gathers 80. The leakage-preventing gathers 80 are arranged on the outer sides of the absorber 30 in the width direction X and prevent urine excreted in the absorber 30 from leaking in the width direction X. In one embodiment, each of the pair of leakage-preventing gathers 80 includes a side sheet 12 and an elastic member 13. The pair of side sheets 12 are formed, for example, of a water-repellent or hydrophobic nonwoven fabric. The pair of side sheets 12 are arranged spaced apart from each other in the width direction X and extend across the entire longitudinal direction Y of the main body portion 2 between the ventral edge 2F and the dorsal edge 2R. As shown in FIG. 3 , the outer edge of the side sheet 12 in the width direction X coincides with the outer edge of the back nonwoven fabric 22 in the width direction X and, together with one outer edge of the back nonwoven fabric 22, forms the side edge 2S of the main body portion 2. Furthermore, the inner portion of each side sheet 5 in the width direction X is folded back toward the non-skin-facing side Z2. An elastic member 13 stretched in the longitudinal direction Y is disposed between the folded-back side sheets 12. The elastic member 13 is, for example, rubber thread.
[0046] Each of the pair of leak-proof gathers 80 includes a standing portion 81 that stands up due to contraction of the elastic member 13, a horizontal fixing portion 82 that serves as a supporting point for the standing portion 81 in the width direction X, and a vertical fixing portion 83 that serves as a supporting point for the standing portion 81 in the longitudinal direction Y. The standing portion 81, the horizontal fixing portion 82, and the vertical fixing portion 83 are formed by the side sheet 12. The standing portion 81 is a portion of the side sheet 12 that is not joined to the top sheet 10, and the elastic member 13 in a stretched state is disposed in the standing portion 81.
[0047] The lateral fixing portions 82 are portions of the side sheets 12 that are fixed to the top sheet 10 with a hot melt adhesive or the like, and serve as supporting points for the standing portions 81 in the width direction X. The lateral fixing portions 82 are formed over the entire area of the main body 2 in the longitudinal direction Y, at positions further outward in the width direction X than the standing portions 81.
[0048] The vertical fixing portions 83 are portions of the side sheets 12 that are joined to the topsheet 10 with a hot melt adhesive or the like, and serve as supporting points for the upright portions 81 in the longitudinal direction Y. In one embodiment, the vertical fixing portions 83 include a ventral fixing portion 83F and a dorsal fixing portion 83R. The ventral fixing portion 83F is formed in a position more inward in the width direction X than the lateral fixing portions 82 and more ventral than the absorbent body 30. That is, the ventral fixing portion 83F is formed between the absorbent body 30 and the ventral edge 2F, and serves as a supporting point for the upright portions 81 on the ventral side. The dorsal fixing portion 83R is formed inward in the width direction X than the lateral fixing portions 82 and more ventral than the absorbent body 30. That is, the dorsal fixing portion 83R is formed between the absorbent body 30 and the dorsal edge 2R, and serves as a supporting point for the upright portions 81 on the dorsal side.
[0049] The standing portions 81 are located more inward in the width direction X than the lateral fixing portions 82, between the ventral fixing portions 83F and the dorsal fixing portions 83R. Elastic members 13 stretched in the longitudinal direction Y are connected to the standing portions 81, and the main body portion 2 deforms in a direction to close as the elastic members 13 contract in the longitudinal direction Y. This deformation causes the standing portions 81 to stand from the lateral fixing portions 82 as a starting point between the ventral fixing portions 83F and the dorsal fixing portions 83R. In this way, the standing portions 81 stand at a position where they sandwich the absorber 30 in the width direction X, thereby preventing urine leakage.
[0050] In one embodiment, the ventral end of the dorsal fixing part 83R may be located on the ventral side of the tail hole 70. That is, in the longitudinal direction Y, the dorsal upright fulcrum of the pair of leakage-preventing gathers 80 is formed at a position closer to the ventral edge 2F than the tail hole 70. This prevents urine that has flowed along the pair of leakage-preventing gathers 80 from leaking out of the tail hole 70.
[0051] A tail hole 70 is formed in the main body portion 2. The tail hole 70 is formed in the main body portion 2, for example, by making a generally U-shaped cut that opens toward the ventral side of the main body portion 2. The tail hole 70 is a tongue-shaped opening for inserting a pet's tail. As shown in FIG. 1 , the tail hole 70 is located on the center line CW of the main body portion 2 in the width direction X and penetrates the main body portion 2 in the thickness direction. The tail hole 70 is also formed on the dorsal side of the dorsal edge 30R of the absorber 30. That is, the tail hole 70 is located between the dorsal edge 30R of the absorber 30 and the dorsal edge 2R of the main body portion 2. Therefore, areas where the absorber 30 is not disposed are formed outside the tail hole 70 of the main body portion 2 in the width direction X and on the dorsal side of the tail hole 70 of the main body portion 2. These areas have low rigidity and therefore flexibly deform along the pet's buttocks. This improves the fit of the absorbent article 1.
[0052] The main body 2 has a flap-shaped tongue 72. The tongue 72 is a portion formed by cutting a substantially U-shaped slit in the main body 2, and is composed of a portion of the topsheet 10 and the backsheet 20. The tongue 72 has a base end 72F connected to the crotch region 53 of the main body 2, and a tip end 72R located on the opposite side of the base end 72F and cut off from the crotch region 53. The tip end 72R faces the back when the tongue 72 is not folded back.
[0053] The tongue piece 72 opens the tail hole 70 by folding back from the base end 72F toward the non-skin facing side Z2. The tail hole 70 is used for inserting the pet's tail. The shape of the tail hole 70 is not limited to a roughly tongue shape, and may be semicircular, rectangular, trapezoidal, polygonal, or elliptical. The tail hole 70 may be formed by cutting out a portion of the main body 2 in a ring shape. In this case, the tongue piece 72 is not formed on the main body 2.
[0054] As shown in FIG. 1 , the absorbent article 1 may further include a pair of elastic members 25 that are stretchable in the longitudinal direction Y. The pair of elastic members 25 are arranged outside the pair of stretchable members 13 in the width direction X. More specifically, the pair of elastic members 25 are provided on the pair of flap portions 40 and extend over substantially the entire area of the pair of flap portions 40 in the longitudinal direction Y. The pair of elastic members 25 are made of a stretchable material such as rubber or spandex that is stretchable in the longitudinal direction Y, and are arranged along the side edges 2S of the main body portion 2 between the topsheet 10 and the backsheet 20 of the main body portion 2. When the absorbent article 1 is worn, the pair of elastic members 25 contract in the longitudinal direction Y, allowing the side edges 2S of the main body portion 2 to fit around the pet's legs.
[0055] The absorbent article 1 described above is stored in a package in a folded state. For example, the absorbent article 1 is stored in the package folded in thirds in the longitudinal direction Y along the fold lines FL1 and FL2. Therefore, when the folded absorbent article 1 is removed from the package, folds are formed in the absorbent article 1 along the fold lines FL1 and FL2. The folds are linear wrinkles formed along the fold lines FL1 and FL2. The fold lines FL1 and FL2 extend in the width direction X so as to cross the main body portion 2. In particular, the fold line FL1 crosses the absorbent body 30. Here, the width of the absorbent body 30 on the fold line F1 may be equal to or greater than the width of the edge of the absorbent body 30 in the longitudinal direction Y. The folds may cause the pulp and polymer absorbent in the absorbent body 30 to become uneven along the fold line F1, resulting in a localized reduction in the basis weight of the absorbent body 30. In contrast to this, by making the width of the absorbent body 30 on the fold line FL1 relatively large, it is possible to ensure the water absorption of the absorbent body 30 on the fold line F1.
[0056] FIG. 5 is a diagram showing the absorbent article 1 being fitted to a pet. When fitting the absorbent article 1 to a pet, the user folds the tongue 72 back toward the non-skin-facing side Z2 to open the tail hole 70, and passes the pet's tail through the tail hole 70 and out the non-skin-facing side Z2 of the diaper. Next, the user places the ventral region 51 of the main body portion 2 against the pet's belly. Then, the user places the dorsal region 52 of the main body portion 2 against the pet's back while placing the area near the center line CL of the main body portion 2 in the longitudinal direction Y against the pet's urination opening. Next, the user pulls the pair of fastening tabs 90 toward the pet's back in the waist direction and engages the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 with the outer surfaces of the target portions 45 of the main body portion 2. As a result, the absorbent article 1 is fitted to cover the pet's belly, back, and crotch, as shown in FIG. 5 .
[0057] When the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 engage with the target portion 45, the adhesive portions 95 come into contact with the back flap portion 40R or the target portion 45 from the non-skin-facing side Z2. When the adhesive portions 95 come into contact with the back flap portion 40R or the target portion 45, the adhesive force of the adhesive portions 95 increases the bonding strength between the main body portion 2 and the pair of fastening tabs 90. This prevents the absorbent article 1 from shifting. Note that because the adhesive portions 95 have a relatively weak peel strength, when a strong force is applied to the absorbent article 1, the adhesive portions 95 detach from the back region 52 of the main body portion 2, allowing the pair of fastening tabs 90 to move. This prevents the pet's movement from being hindered.
[0058] Furthermore, as described above, in the absorbent article 1, when the engaging portions 92 of the pair of fastening tabs 90 are engaged with the target portions 45, the pair of back-side flap portions 40R are disposed on the skin-facing side Z1 relative to the pair of fastening tabs 90. Therefore, the adhesive portions 95 contact the pair of back-side flap portions 40R without directly contacting the pet's body. This prevents the adhesive force of the adhesive portions 95 from causing the pet's hair to fall out or causing skin irritation. This ensures the comfort of the absorbent article 1.
[0059] In the above-described embodiment, the adhesive portion 95 is provided on a pair of fastening tabs 90, but the adhesive portion 95 may be provided on a portion other than the pair of fastening tabs 90, as long as it is positioned on the straight line SL connecting the pair of fastening tabs 90 or in the area between the straight line SL connecting the pair of fastening tabs 90 and the center line CL of the main body portion in the longitudinal direction Y.
[0060] Hereinafter, an absorbent article for pets according to another embodiment will be described with reference to Fig. 6. Fig. 6 is a plan view of an absorbent article for pets 1A according to another embodiment (hereinafter referred to as "absorbent article 1A") as viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. The absorbent article for pets 1A differs from the absorbent article 1 shown in Fig. 1 in that adhesive portions 95 are provided on a pair of flap portions 40. In the following description, differences from the absorbent article 1 will be mainly described, and overlapping descriptions will be omitted.
[0061] 6 , the adhesive portion 95 of the absorbent article 1A is provided on the pair of flap portions 40 at a position between the straight line SL connecting the pair of fastening tabs 90 and the center line CL of the main body portion in the longitudinal direction Y. More specifically, the adhesive portion 95 is provided on the surface of the skin-facing side Z1 of the pair of abdominal-side flap portions 40F at a position on the abdominal side of the pair of fastening tabs 90.
[0062] In the absorbent article 1A, when the pair of fastening tabs 90 engage with the target portion 45, the adhesive portions 95 formed on the pair of ventral flap portions 40F contact the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R from the non-skin-facing side Z2. At this time, the adhesive portions 95 of the pair of ventral flap portions 40F adhere to the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R, joining the pair of ventral flap portions 40F and the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R. This prevents the absorbent article 1 from shifting. Note that, because the adhesive portions 95 have a relatively weak peel strength, when a strong force is applied to the absorbent article 1, the joining between the pair of ventral flap portions 40F and the pair of dorsal flap portions 40R is released, allowing the absorbent article 1 to shift. This prevents the pet's movements from being hindered. Furthermore, in the absorbent article 1A, the adhesive portion 95 does not come into direct contact with the pet's body, preventing the pet's hair from falling out or the pet's skin from becoming rough due to the adhesive force of the adhesive portion 95. Therefore, the comfort of the absorbent article 1 can be ensured.
[0063] Diapers according to various embodiments have been described above, but the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. In other words, it should be noted that the above-described embodiments are for illustrative purposes only and do not limit the scope of the present invention. The above-described various embodiments can be combined within a consistent range.
[0064] 1 and 2, the tail hole 70 is formed on the back side of the back edge 30R of the absorbent body 30, but in one embodiment, the tail hole 70 may be formed in a position overlapping the absorbent body 30 when viewed from the skin-facing side Z1. In this case, the tail hole 70 passes through the topsheet 10, backsheet 20, and absorbent body 30.
[0065] The adhesive portions 95 may also be formed on both the pair of fastening tabs 90 and the pair of abdominal-side flap portions 40F. The various embodiments described above can be combined within a range that does not cause inconsistencies.
