Abstract
Description
[0001] A brake for a means of transport
[0002] Technical Field
[0003] The invention relates to a brake for a means of single track transport with at least two wheels, which comprises a standing part, in the form of a standing board, and at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel, which are mounted on the standing part.
[0004] State of the Art
[0005] Currently, a number of designs are known for braking individual means of transport, which comprise wheels, such as roller skates, roller skis and various types of skateboards.
[0006] From patent document CZ PV 2010-1 a brake device is known for roller skates and similar means, which are provided with aligned running wheels arranged on the frame of a skate or similar means of transport, consisting of a braking element acting simultaneously on two adjacent wheels, arranged in a sliding and / or pivoting manner on the frame and controlled by a pedal. This pedal or its transfer mechanism to the braking element is lockable to the frame in the non-braking position by means of a locking member, which is kinematically connected to the initiation member for delocking, controlled by the farce of the rider. During braking this braking element creates a friction clutch between two adjacent wheels. The disadvantage is that this brake is only applicable to vehicles having at least two wheels arranged closely behind each other. Theoretically, it could also be used for skateboards, but control in this case would be rather more complicated.
[0007] From patent document US4099734 a two-track skateboard is known that has a pedal arranged in the rear part of the board, which is connected by a gear mechanism to the board fitted with a brush, which brakes the skateboard by pressing it against the surface of the base on which the skateboard moves. The disadvantage is that the braking effect is small, and when bending on a dusty surface, dust swirls during braking.
[0008] From a further patent document US4088334 a skateboard brake is known which is attached to the rear of the skateboard, and including a braking wheel that is pressed by a brake block that is stepped on from above with the user’s heel so that the brake wheel presses onto the surface of the ground, thereby creating a braking effect. The disadvantage is again the low braking effect, which is also very unstable with respect to changes in the surface over which the skateboard moves.
[0009] A skateboard brake is also known from patent document US4043566. A hole is created in the skateboard deck in which a pivotable board is arranged, which contains a wedge on its lower part, which is pressed against the surface of the ground after the board is angled, thus creating a braking effect The disadvantage is again the unstable braking effect, as well as unstable control despite the simple design.
[0010] It is clear from the known technologies above that existing technology has a number of disadvantages, with the greatest disadvantage being that there is no known brake or braking device which allows safe and simple braking of a means of transport which comprises a standing part equipped with wheels.
[0011] The aim of the invention is to design a brake for a single-track means of transport with at least two wheels which comprises a standing part, in the form of a standing board, and wheels, which will enable safe stopping, namely safe stopping for a user who is not exceptionally agile.
[0012] Principle of the Invention
[0013] The above-mentioned shortcomings are largely eliminated and the objectives of the invention are fulfilled by a brake of a means of transport, specifically a brake of single track means of transport with at least two wheels, which comprises a standing part with a standing board, and at least one front wheel and at least one rear wheel, which are mounted on the standing part, by means of a supporting frame part, so that the standing board is arranged in the space between the front wheel and the rear wheel, according to the invention, characterised in that it comprises a control pedal, which is arranged in the front part of the standing part, In the space between the front wheel and the standing board, and at least one braking means is arranged on at least one rear wheel, with the control pedal being connected by a cable to the braking means, with a tread wedge being arranged between the standing board and the control pedal. The advantage is that the arrangement of the control pedal in the front part of the standing part is natural, one might say ergonomic. Thanks to the arrangement of the braking means on the rear wheel, it is possible to stop simply and safely, in part because the front wheel does not lock and thus directional stability is not lost. This o arrangement is very convenient, because it allows for easy regulation of the load distribution on the individual wheels, which Increases the safety of use.
[0014] According to the first variant, it is to advantage if the braking means has mechanical control, with it being to the greatest advantage that the control pedal is connected to the braking means by a cable that contains a Bowden cable to which a small cable is atached. The advantage is a simple, inexpensive, and easily serviceable design.
[0015] According to the second variant, it is to advantage if the braking means has hydraulic control, with it being to the greatest advantage that the control pedal is connected to the braking means by a cable that contains a hose with hydraulic fluid. The advantage is that a smooth braking effect can be achieved without much effort.
[0016] It is also to great advantage according to the first variant if the braking means is a disc brake. The advantage is high efficiency under any weather conditions.
[0017] It is also to advantage according to the second variant if the braking means is a calliper brake. The advantage is again a very simple and easily serviceable design, with the braking effect being fully sufficient.
[0018] For simple and comfortable operation, it is to advantage if the control pedal has a tread surface that has the shape of a convex radius. Such an ergonomic design of the control pedal enables smooth and therefore safe braking.
[0019] It is also to advantage if the control pedal is swivel mounted on the standing part.
[0020] It is also to great advantage if a tread wedge is arranged between the standing part and the control pedal, which serves as a support for the user's front foot at the moment when this foot is depressing the pedal and thus braking. The tread wedge secures the foot in a stable position without it simply moving forward onto the control pedal, thereby preventing disruption of smooth and safe braking.
[0021] To advantage, the front edge of the control pedal adjoins the end edge of the tread wedge.
[0022] In an advantageous embodiment, the control pedal is attached to a profile that is swivel mounted, via a pin, in the supporting frame part of the standing part.
[0023] The main advantage of the vehicle brake according to the invention is that its operation is very simple, one might say intuitive, and therefore safe. Thanks to the arrangement of the control pedal in the front part of the standing part and the braking means on the rear wheel, it is possible to stop simply and safely, in part because the front wheel does not lock and thus directional stability is not lost. Safe use is aided by the arrangement of a tread wedge in front of the beginning of the control pedal, which prevents uncontrollable displacement of the braking foot during braking. It is to great advantage that when braking on a means of transport, deceleration occurs naturally, which the rider feels. During this deceleration, the rider's centre of gravity naturally shifts to the front leg, which controls the brake pedal. Thus, in the case of the rider’s front leg, deceleration helps to ensure firm contact of the foot with the brake, if the rear leg were to control the brake, the opposite would be the case. Deceleration would relieve the static load on the rear leg. This relief of the rear teg would complicate the implementation of braking and could even lead to the rider unintentionally dismounting the means of transport while riding.
[0024] Overview of the Figures
[0025] The invention will be further explained with the help of drawings, in which Fig. 1 shows in a side view with a partial cutaway view the arrangement of the means of transport brake at the moment when the control pedal is in the unpressed position, Fig. 2 shows in a side view with a partial cutaway view the arrangement of the means of transport brake at the moment when the control pedal is in the depressed position, Fig. 3 shows a detail of the arrangement of the control pedal and its placement in the supporting frame part, which is part of the standing part of the means of transport, Fig. 4 shows in a top view with a partial cutaway view the arrangement of the means of transport brake, and Fig. 5 shows a three-dimensional view of the entire means of transport with a brake according to the invention.
