Abstract

Systems and methods for repeated transmissions of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) with system information blocks (SIBs) are discussed herein. For example, a UE may receive signaling from a network node indicating a repetition of a PDSCH for SIBs other than System Information Block Type 1 (SIB1) and determine, based on the signaling, a number of PDSCH repetitions for PDSCH that includes the SIBs. Then, the UE may receive the PDSCH that includes the SIBs with the number of PDSCH repetitions. In some cases, the signaling from the network indicating the repetition of the PDSCH for the SIBs other than SIB1 comprises a Downlink Control Information (DCI). In some other cases, the signaling from the network indicating the repetition of the PDSCH for the SIBs other than the SIB1 includes the SIB1.

Description

PROCEDURES AND SIGNALING FOR REPEATED TRANSMISSIONS OF PHYSICAL DOWNLINK SHARED CHANNEL WITH SYSTEM INFORMATION BLOCKTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] This application relates generally to wireless communication systems, including the implementation of physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) repetition.BACKGROUND

[0002] Wireless mobile communication technology uses various standards and protocols to transmit data between a base station and a wireless communication device. Wireless communication system standards and protocols can include, for example, 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) Long Term Evolution (LTE) (e.g., 4G) , 3GPP New Radio (NR) (e.g., 5G) , and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11 standard for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) (commonly known to industry groups as  ) .

[0003] As contemplated by the 3GPP, different wireless communication systems' standards and protocols can use various radio access networks (RANs) for communicating between a base station of the RAN (which may also sometimes be referred to generally as a RAN node, a network node, or simply a node) and a wireless communication device known as a user equipment (UE) . 3GPP RANs can include, for example, Global System for Mobile communications (GSM) , Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) RAN (GERAN) , Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (UTRAN) , Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) , and / or Next-Generation Radio Access Network (NG-RAN) .

[0004] Each RAN may use one or more radio access technologies (RATs) to perform communication between the base station and the UE. For example, the GERAN implements GSM and / or EDGE RAT, the UTRAN implements Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) RAT or other 3GPP RAT, the E-UTRAN implements LTE RAT (sometimes simply referred to as LTE) , and NG-RAN implements NR RAT (sometimes referred to herein as 5G RAT, 5G NR RAT, or simply NR) . In certain deployments, the E-UTRAN may also implement NR RAT. In certain deployments, NG-RAN may also implement LTE RAT.

[0005] A base station used by a RAN may correspond to that RAN. One example of an E-UTRAN base station is an Evolved Universal Terrestrial Radio Access Network (E-UTRAN) Node B (also commonly denoted as evolved Node B, enhanced Node B, eNodeB,  or eNB) . One example of an NG-RAN base station is a next generation Node B (also sometimes referred to as a g Node B or gNB) .

[0006] A RAN provides its communication services with external entities through its connection to a core network (CN) . For example, E-UTRAN may utilize an Evolved Packet Core (EPC) while NG-RAN may utilize a 5G Core Network (5GC) .

[0007] Frequency bands for 5G NR may be separated into two or more different frequency ranges. For example, Frequency Range 1 (FR1) may include frequency bands operating in sub-6 gigahertz (GHz) frequencies, some of which are bands that may be used by previous standards, and may potentially be extended to cover new spectrum offerings from 410 megahertz (MHz) to 7125 MHz. Frequency Range 2 (FR2) may include frequency bands from 24.25 GHz to 52.6 GHz. Note that in some systems, FR2 may also include frequency bands from 52.6 GHz to 71 GHz (or beyond) . Bands in the millimeter wave (mmWave) range of FR2 may have smaller coverage but potentially higher available bandwidth than bands in FR1. Skilled persons will recognize these frequency ranges, which are provided by way of example, may change from time to time or from region to region.

[0018] FIG. 9 illustrates a system for performing signaling between a wireless device and a network device, according to embodiments disclosed herein.DETAILED DESCRIPTION

[0019] Various embodiments are described with regard to a UE. However, reference to a UE is merely provided for illustrative purposes. The example embodiments may be utilized with any electronic component that may establish a connection to a network and is configured with the hardware, software, and / or firmware to exchange information and data with the network. Therefore, the UE as described herein is used to represent any appropriate electronic component.

[0020] In some wireless communication systems, non-terrestrial network (NTN) downlink (DL) coverage is used. Some downlink coverage enhancements targeting support for additional reference satellite payload parameters covering both geosynchronous orbit (GSO) and non-geosynchronous orbit (NGSO) constellations operating in FR1-NTN or FR2-NTN may be beneficial. For example, it may be beneficial to define additional reference satellite payload parameters assuming power sharing among satellite beams or different satellite beam patterns / size (e.g., wide or narrow) across the satellite footprint, such that satellite beams may not all be simultaneously active or may be active below the nominal EIRP density per satellite beam (in, for example, section 6.1.1 of 3GPP technical report (TR) 38.821) due to limited power and limited feeder link bandwidth. It may also be beneficial to define the corresponding power sharing assumptions and necessary link level and system level evaluation methodology and relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) for evaluations of the coverage to allow for identification of physical channels / signals and system-level aspects that need enhancements and the corresponding needed improvements.

[0021] Further, it may also be beneficial to specify link level enhancements for FR1-NTN (e.g. for a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH) and / or a physical downlink shared channel (PDSCH) ) and / or system level enhancements for FR1-NTN and / or FR2-NTN, allowing dynamic and flexible power sharing between satellite beams or different satellite beam patterns / size (i.e., wide or narrow) across the satellite footprint. Note that the SSB channel enhancements were not considered and antenna gain of the UE may be assumed to be -5.5 decibels relative to isotropic (dBi) in case of smartphones operating in FR1-NTN.  The UE may be assumed to be a full duplex UE and at least two reception (Rx) are considered at the UE. The NGSO may be considered in priority with low earth orbit (LEO) Set-1 at, for example, 600 kilometer (km) . Additionally, network energy saving techniques may be considered as a baseline in system level discussions.

[0022] In some wireless communication mechanisms, as part of the NTN DL coverage enhancements at both the system level and at the link level, extending the periodicity of the half frames with synchronization signal (SS)  / physical broadcast channel (PBCH) blocks assumed by UE during initial access may be considered. Default value (s) with extended periodicity assumed by NTN UE for initial access may be one (or more) values from the list of values such as {40ms, 80 milliseconds (ms) , 160 ms, 320 ms, 640 ms} . In some examples, potential enhancements for transmitting the DL common channels using a wider beam footprint, while DL and / or uplink (UL) dedicated channels (including a physical random access channel (PRACH) ) may be transmitted using a narrower beam footprint.

[0023] Additionally, link-level enhancements for various channels may be considered. Link-level enhancements may be beneficial for channels including a PDCCH and / or a PDSCH with Msg 4, and / or a PDSCH with SIB1 / SIB19. Note that link-level enhancements for PDSCH with SIB1 and / or SIB19 may be applicable to other SIBs, without additional specification impact. Also note that in some embodiments all channels previously discussed may not be enhanced, however enhancements for the channels may be considered.

[0024] In some wireless communication systems, for downlink control information (DCI) format 1_0 contents with system information (SI) -radio network temporary identifier (RNTI) (SI-RNTI) , information may be transmitted by means of the DCI format 1_0 with cyclic redundancy check (CRC) scrambled by the SI-RNTI. For example, the information may include a frequency domain resource assignment, a time domain resource assignment (e.g., 4 bits as defined in Clause 5.1.2.1 of 3GPP technical specification (TS) 38.214) , variable resource block (VRB) -to-physical resource block (PRB) mapping (e.g., 1 bit according to Table 7.3.1.2.2-5 of 3GPP 38.214) , modulation and coding scheme (e.g., 5 bits as defined in Clause 5.1.3 of 3GPP TS 38.214, using Table 5.1.3.1-1) , redundancy version (e.g., 2 bits as defined in Table 7.3.1.1.1-2 of 3GPP 38.214) , system information indicator (e.g., 1 bit as defined in Table 7.3.1.2.1-2 of 3GPP 38.214) , and reserved bits (e.g., 17 bits for operation in a cell with shared spectrum channel access in frequency range 1 or for operation in a cell in frequency range 2-2; otherwise 15 bits) .

[0025] However, in current systems, indicating the repetition of a PDSCH for SIBs other than SIB1 is not supported. Embodiments herein discuss procedures and signaling of  repeated transmissions of a PDSCH with SIBs other than SIB1 (e.g., SIB 19) . In some cases, a joint SIB1 and DCI indication may be introduced. In some such cases, an SIB1 may configure multiple PDSCH repetition numbers and DCI may indicate one of the numbers. In some such cases, an SIB1 may configure a single PDSCH repetition number and DCI may activate / deactivate the configured number. In some such cases, an SIB1 may configure DCI format reinterpretation, and the DCI may indicate a PDSCH repetition number. In some such cases, an SIB1 may configure a new RNTI and DCI, decoding based on the new RNTI, has a field reinterpretation.

[0026] In some embodiments, a DCI based indication may be introduced. In some such cases, depending on a newly introduced RNTI, the UE may determine the number of PDSCH repetitions. In some such cases, the DCI based indication may depend on a new field of DCI format 1_0, with a CRC scrambled by a SI-RNTI.

[0027] In some embodiments, an SIB1 based indication may be introduced. In some such cases, an SIB1 may include a single value of PDSCH repetition number for one or more SIBs. In some such cases, the number of PDSCH repetitions may be associated with one or more cell specific time-domain resource allocation (TDRA) table entries. It should be understood that embodiments herein may implement various combinations of the discussed cases and embodiments.

[0028] Additionally, in current systems indicating the repetition of PDSCH for SIB1 is not supported. Some embodiments herein introduce an indication of the repetitions of PDSCH for SIB1 depending on newly introduced RNTI (s) where the UE determines the number of PDSCH repetitions based on the newly introduced RNTI (s) . In some examples, a newly introduced RNTI and a number of PDSCH repetitions may be pre-defined. If the PDCCH is decoded using the newly introduced RNTI, then the pre-defined PDSCH repetition number is applied. In some example embodiments, more than one RNTI may be pre-defined and each RNTI may correspond to a number of PDSCH repetitions. In some example embodiments, a new RNTI may be pre-defined. If the PDCCH is decoded via using the new RNTI, then the fields in DCI are reinterpreted. In some example embodiments, band dependent operation may be introduced.

[0029] Further, in current systems, scheduling and / or configuration parameters under PDSCCH repetition for SIBs may be enhanced. Some embodiments herein introduce such scheduling and / or configuration parameters where a monitoring periodicity that may be larger than or equal to the number of PDSCH repetitions.

[0030] In some embodiments, signaling to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1 may be introduced. Such signaling may include, for example, SIB19 or any SIB (s) other than SIB1.

[0031] In some embodiments, the signaling to indicate the PDSCH repetitions for SIBS other than SIB1 may include a DCI based indication. The scheduling DCI for PDSCH with SIBs with CRC may be scrambled by an SI-RNTI. In some examples, the DCI based indication may include an indication that the PDSCH repetition is applied or not (e.g., using one bit) . A single number of repetitions may be configured in SIB1 or PBCH and may or may not use a DCI indication. In such examples, the activation and or deactivation of the PDSCH repetition (e.g., applied or not) may be done dynamically. In some examples, a number of PDSCH repetitions may be indicated (e.g., using multiple bits) . In such examples, the actual number of PDSCH repetitions may be indicated in the DCI scheduling PDSCH with SIBs, or one or more numbers of repetitions are configured in the SIB1 or the PDSCH and the DCI may indicate the configuration index.

[0032] In some cases, the DCI based indication may take the form of one or more bits from a “reserved bits” field in the DCI format 1_0. In some cases, the DCI based indication may take the form of a least significant bit (LSB) or a most significant bit (MSB) from a “modulation and coding scheme” field in the DCI format 1_0. In some cases, the DCI based indication may take the form of an LSB or MSB from a “time domain resource assignment” field in the DCI format 1_0. In some cases, the DCI based indication may take the form of an LSB or MSB from a “frequency domain resource assignment” field in the DCI format 1_0. In some cases, the DCI based indication may use a newly introduced RNTI (e.g., different from the SI-RNTI) to scramble CRC of the scheduling DCI. In such examples, the use of the newly introduced RNTI may imply the PDSCH repetition without changing the contents of the DCI and / or the use of the newly introduced RNTI may imply the re-interpretation of the DCI format 1_0. For example, one or more “system information indicator” bit (s) may indicate whether the PDSCH repetition is applied.

[0033] FIG. 1 illustrates a flow diagram 100 of a UE procedure for receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIBs with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication, according to embodiments herein.

[0034] In some embodiments, a UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication may be introduced. The procedure may begin with receiving 102 an SIB1 configuration ( "Step 1" ) including multiple parts (e.g., parts including a number of repetitions for PDSCH with other SIBs,  and / or indicating the re-interpretation of DCI contents and / or usage of a new RNTI for other SIB reception) .

[0035] A first part ( "Part 1" ) of the SIB1 configuration may include the number of repetitions for PDSCH with other SIBs. It may be that the same or different number of repetitions may be applied to a PDSCH with different SIBs (e.g., SIB 19 with four PDSCH repetitions or SIB 2 with two PDSCH repetitions) . It may also be that a single value repetition number may be configured or multiple values of repetition numbers may be configured.

[0036] A second part ( "Part 2" ) of the SIB1 configuration may include the activation or deactivation of DCI contents reinterpretation. If activated, a DCI field may be used to indicate the number of repetitions for PDSCH with other SIBs. For example, if the reinterpretation is activated, the modulation and coding scheme bits, the redundancy version bits, or any other fields in the DCI may be reinterpreted to indicate the number of repetitions for PDSCH. If deactivated, current mechanisms (which may also be referred to as legacy mechanisms) for receiving the DCI may be used (e.g., the same DCI contents are used) .

[0037] A third part ( "Part 3" ) of the SIB1 configuration may include the activation or deactivation of the usage of a newly introduced RNTI to indicate a number of repetition for PDSCH or the configuration of a newly introduced RNTI value. If activated, the newly introduced RNTI may be used to scramble the CRC of a new DCI format (e.g., DCI format 1_0) . In some examples, a newly introduced RNTI may be pre-defined (e.g., some reserved value of FFF3-FFFA) or indicated / configured in SIB1. If deactivated, current mechanisms for receiving the DCI may be used (i.e., an SI-RNTI is used) .

[0038] It should be understood that the configuration of Part 1 may implicitly indicate the activation of Part 2 or Part 3. In such cases, Part 2 or Part 3 may not be explicitly indicated. In some instances, an activation time of the SIB1 configuration may introduced and may be a fixed (e.g., predefined) time after the end of the SI-window with SIB1 configuration change.

[0039] In the UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication, subsequently, the UE may receive 104 a DCI used for scheduling other SIBs ( "Step 2" ) .

[0040] Then, the UE may determine 106 the number of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, depending on the SIB1 configuration ( "Step 3" ) . If the SIB1 configures a single number of PDSCH repetitions for a certain SIB (e.g., in Part 1 discussed herein) , the SIB1  indicated value may be used. If the SIB1 configures multiple numbers of PDSCH repetitions for a certain SIB (i.e., in Part 1 discussed herein) , the DCI contents reinterpretation may indicate which configured number is used (e.g., two LSBs of reserved bit: “00” corresponds to no PDSCH repetition, “01” corresponds to a first configured number of PDSCH repetitions; “10” corresponds to a second configured number of PDSCH repetitions, and “11” corresponds to a third configured number of PDSCH repetitions) .

[0041] If the SIB1 indicates the activation of DCI contents reinterpretation (e.g., in Part 2 discussed herein) , the UE may apply the DCI contents reinterpretation to obtain the PDSCH repetition number. The number of PDSCH repetitions may be directly indicated in one or more DCI fields (e.g., two LSBs of reserved bit: “00” corresponds to no PDSCH repetition, “01” corresponds to two PDSCH repetitions; “10” corresponds to three PDSCH repetitions; “11” corresponds four PDSCH repetitions) .

[0042] If SIB1 indicates the activation of the newly introduced RNTI (e.g., in Part 3 discussed herein) , the UE may apply the newly introduced RNTI or SI-RNTI to decode the DCI for the newly introduced DCI format (e.g., DCI format 1_0) and may determine whether the PDSCH repetition is applied.

[0043] In some embodiments, if no such indication and / or configuration is used, then no PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1 are implemented.

[0044] Then, in the UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication, the UE may receive 108 PDSCH (s) with other SIBs with the indicated number of repetitions (e.g., a PDSCH repetition may be received) ( "Step 4" ) . For example, the PDSCH repetition may be in terms of “type A” , where PDSCH repetitions are in consecutive slots and the time and frequency locations of each slot is the same for PDSCH repetitions.

[0045] FIG. 2 illustrates a flow diagram 200 of a DCI based UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIBs, according to embodiments herein. In some embodiments, a DCI based UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB may be introduced. The DCI based UE procedure may begin with the UE receiving 202 DCI for scheduling SIBs other than SIB1.

[0046] Then, the UE may determine 204 a number of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, based on the DCI ( "Step 2" ) . In some cases, the UE may determine the number of PDSCH repetitions depending on a newly introduced RNTI. In some such cases, the newly introduced RNTI may be either pre-defined (e.g., one from the reserved RNTI value FFF3-FFFA) or indicated, broadcasted, and / or activated in SIB1. If the PDCCH is decoded  using the newly introduced RNTI, the fields of DCI are reinterpreted according to a newly introduced DCI format to indicate the number of PDSCH repetitions.

[0047] In some cases, the UE may determine 204 the number of PDSCH repetitions depending on a newly introduced field of DCI format 1_0 with CRC scrambled by the SI-RNTI. In such cases, one or more reserved bits in the DCI may be used to indicate the number of PDSCH repetitions. It should be understood that, in some examples, this may be restricted to a certain NTN band (e.g., band n254, 255, or 256) . In some cases, the UE may reinterpret a modulation coding scheme (MCS) field (or other fields) in the DCI for use in determining the number of PDSCH repetitions. In some cases, some entries of Table 5.1.3.1-1 of 3GPP TS 38.214 may be used for repetition number indication. For example, entries 26-28 (with 64QAM and higher coding rate) may be used to indicate the repetition number (e.g., 2, 4, 8) .

[0048] Then, the UE may receive 206 PDSCH (s) with SIBs with the indicated number of repetitions ( "Step 3" ) . Step 3 of the DCI based UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB, in some cases, may correspond to “Step 4” discussed herein for the UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication. In some examples, redundancy version (RV) cycling may be applied to the PDSCH repetitions.

[0049] FIG. 3 illustrates a flow diagram 300 of an SIB1 based indication UE procedure to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, according to embodiments herein. In some embodiments, an SIB1 based indication UE signaling procedure to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1 may be introduced.

[0050] The SIB1 based indication signaling procedure to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1 may begin with the UE determining the number of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, based on an SIB1 received 302 with a configuration of number of repetitions for PDSCH with other SIBs ( "Step 1" ) . In some cases, the SIB1 indicates a single value of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1. It may be that a same or a different number of repetitions may be applied to the PDSCH with different SIBs (e.g., SIB 19 with four PDSCH repetitions or SIB 2 with two PDSCH repetitions) . In some cases, the number of PDSCH repetitions may be associated with one or more cell specific TDRA table entries. In such cases, the cell specific TDRA table (i.e., Table 5.1.2.1.1-2 of 3GPP TS 38.214) may be updated with a column to indicate the repetition number for each entry. An example updated table is replicated in Table 1 with added column “Repetition Number” used to indicate the repetition number. In some instances, an activation time of SIB1  configuration may be introduced and may be a fixed (e.g., predefined) time after the end of the SI-window with SIB1 configuration change.

[0051] Table 1: Example Updated Table 5.1.2.1.1-2 in 3GPP TS 38.214 with Column to Indicate Repetition Number

[0052] Then, the UE may receive 304 DCI for scheduling other SIBs. Accordingly, the UE may receive 306 PDSCH (s) with other SIBs with the number of repetitions indicated via the SIB1 ( "Step 3" ) . Step 3 of the SIB1 based indication UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, in some cases, may correspond to “Step 4” discussed herein for the UE procedure of receiving PDSCH repetitions for SIB with an SIB1 (or PBCH) configuration and with a DCI based indication.

[0053] FIG. 4 illustrates a flow diagram 400 of a UE signaling procedure to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIB1, according to embodiments herein. In some embodiments, a UE signaling procedure to indicate PDSCH repetitions for SIB1 may be introduced and may be, for example, PBCH indication based or DCI indication based. The procedure begins with the UE receiving 402 DCI for scheduling the SIB1.

[0054] Then, the UE may determine 404 the number of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, based on DCI ( "Step 2" ) . In some examples, the UE may determine the number of PDSCH repetitions based on the newly introduced RNTI (s) .

[0055] In some cases, a newly introduced RNTI may be pre-configured or pre-defined (e.g., one from the reserved RNTI values FFF3-FFFA) and a number of PDSCH repetitions may be pre-configured or pre-defined. If the PDCCH is decoded using the newly introduced RNTI, then the pre-defined PDSCH repetition number is applied. If the PDCCH is decoded using a current SI-RNTI, then there is no PDSCH repetition.

[0056] In some cases, more than one RNTI may be pre-configured or pre-defined and each RNTI may correspond to a number of PDSCH repetitions. If the PDCCH is decoded via either an SI-RNTI or one of the newly introduced RNTIs, the UE may know whether the PDSCH repetition is applied or not and how many PDSCH repetitions are applied.

[0057] In some cases, a newly introduced RNTI may be pre-configured or pre-defined. If the PDCCH is decoded using the newly introduced RNTI, the fields in the DCI are reinterpreted. For example, one or more reinterpreted fields of the DCI may be used to indicate the PDSCH repetition number (e.g., using some reserved bits, or using “system information indicator” field bit (s) ) .

[0058] In some cases, band dependent operation may be introduced and used. For example, if the operations are in an FR1-NTN band (e.g., band n 254 / 255 / 256) or a subset of the FR1-NTN bands, then some bits in the “reserved bits” in the DCI format 1_0 with CRC scrambled by a SI-RNTI may be used to indicate the number of PDSCH repetitions. Otherwise, there may be no need to read the “reserved bits” as the PDSCH repetitions are not applied.

[0059] Then, the UE may receive 406 PDSCH (s) with SIB1 according to the number of repetitions.

[0060] FIG. 5 illustrates a diagram of a PDCCH monitoring occasion with scheduling and / or configuration parameters, according to embodiments herein.

[0061] In some embodiments, scheduling and / or configuration parameters may be introduced to, for example, restrict and / or optimize the scheduling and / or configuration of the PDCCH monitoring occasion. For example, in the search space for SIB, a monitoring periodicity may be introduced to be larger than or equal to the number of PDSCH repetitions. As illustrated in diagram 500, a PDSCH 504 is transmitted in a first slot 508 (with a PDCCH monitoring occasion 516 transmitted prior to the PDSCH 504 corresponding to different SSBs) and a PDSCH repetition 506 is transmitted in a second slot 510. Accordingly, the monitoring periodicity 502 is equal to or larger than the two slots used for the PDSCH 504 and PDSCH repetition 506 transmission. It should be understood  that a plurality of monitoring periodicities 502 may be configured in a SI-window 512 within a SI-periodicity 514.

[0062] In some instances, it may be that the number of PDSCH repetitions is equal to the PDCCH monitoring periodicity, and hence, there is no explicit configuration and / or indication of the number of PDSCH repetitions. The configured PDCCH monitoring periodicity may imply the PDSCH repetition number as the PDSCSH monitoring periodicity may be equal to the PDSCH repetition number. For example, as illustrated in diagram 500, there may no need to explicitly configure the number of PDSCH repetitions as the monitoring periodicity 502 is two slots in length. Accordingly, the number of PDSCH repetitions is two (i.e., equal to the monitoring periodicity 502) .

[0063] For SIBs other than SIB1, such feature may be enabled or disabled via the SIB1. In some cases, the number of PDSCH repetitions may be indicated by the network (e.g., by an SIB1 or a master information block (MIB) ) . Additionally, such embodiments may be applicable to SIB1 or any other SIBs.

[0064] FIG. 6 illustrates a method 600 performed by a UE, according to embodiments herein. The illustrated method 600 includes receiving 602 signaling from a network node indicating a repetition of a PDSCH for SIBs other than SIB1. The method 600 further includes determining 604, based on the signaling, a number of PDSCH repetitions for PDSCH that includes the SIBs. The method 600 further include receiving 606 the PDSCH that includes the SIBs with the number of PDSCH repetitions.

[0066] In some embodiments of the method 600, the signaling from the network indicating the repetition of the PDSCH for the SIBs other than SIB1 comprises a Downlink Control Information (DCI) . In some such embodiments, the DCI is scrambled with a PDSCH repetition Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) , and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions further comprises: decoding a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) using the PDSCH repetition RNTI, and determining the number of PDSCH repetitions based on a reinterpretation of one or more fields of the DCI. In some other such embodiments, the DCI is a DCI format 1_0 and comprises a PDSCH repetition field, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions is based on the PDSCH repetition field. In some other such embodiments, the DCI comprises a Modulation Coding Scheme (MCS) index table, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions is based on one or more entries of the MCS index table.

[0067] In some embodiments of the method 600, the signaling from the network indicating the repetition of the PDSCH for the SIBs other than the SIB1 comprises the SIB1. In some such embodiments, the SIB1 indicates a single value of PDSCH repetitions for SIBs other than SIB1, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions is based on the single value. In some other such embodiments, the SIB1 comprises a cell specific Time-Domain Resource Allocation (TDRA) table, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions is based on one or more entries of the cell specific TDRA table associated with the number of PDSCH repetitions. In some other such embodiments, the SIB1 comprises an activation time of a SIB1 configuration, and wherein the activation time is after an end of an SI-window, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions occurs after the activation time.

[0068] In some embodiments, the method 600 further comprises receiving a DCI indicating PDSCH repetitions for the SIB1, and determining the number of PDSCH repetitions for SIB1, based on the DCI. In some such embodiments, the DCI is scrambled with a PDSCH repetition Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) and a preconfigured PDSCH repetition number, and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions for the SIB1 further comprises: decoding a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) using the PDSCH repetition RNTI, and applying the preconfigured or predefined PDSCH repetition number. In some other such embodiments, the DCI is scrambled with a plurality of PDSCH repetition Radio Network Temporary Identifiers (RNTIs) , and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions further comprises: decoding a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) using the plurality of PDSCH repetition RNTIs; and in response, determining a number of applied PDSCH repetitions applied. In some other such embodiments, the DCI is scrambled with a PDSCH repetition Radio Network Temporary Identifier (RNTI) and wherein determining the number of PDSCH repetitions for the SIB1 further comprises: interpreting one or more fields of the DCI based on the PDSCH repetition RNTI, wherein the one or more fields of the DCI comprise a PDSCH repetition number indication. In some other such embodiments, determining the number of PDSCH repetitions for the SIB1, based on the DCI is band dependent, and wherein the DCI indicates the number of PDSCH repetitions for the SIB1.
