AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Conventional mobility management in 4G and 5G networks relies on fixed Time-to-Trigger (TTT) timers for measurement reports, leading to excessive handover delays, suboptimal performance, increased radio link failure risk, and inflexible mobility due to short-term signal fluctuations, particularly in high-mobility environments.

Method used

Implementing a prediction model, such as a machine learning model, to determine predicted measurements and conditions for handover events, allowing timely and flexible transmission of measurement reports based on predicted measurements rather than fixed TTT timers.

Benefits of technology

Enhances the timeliness and flexibility of measurement report triggering, reducing handover delays and improving mobility performance by avoiding unnecessary signaling and handover ping-pong effects.

Description

METHODS AND APPARATUS FOR MANAGING MEASUREMENT REPORT USING MEASUREMENT PREDICTION IN MOBILE COMMUNICATIONSCROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED PATENT APPLICATION (S)

[0001] The present disclosure is part of a non-provisional application claiming the priority benefit of PCT Application No. PCT / CN2024 / 121045, filed 25 September 2024, the content of which herein being incorporated by reference in its entirety.TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] The present disclosure is generally related to mobile communications and, more particularly, to managing measurement report using measurement prediction with respect to apparatus in mobile communications.BACKGROUND

[0003] Unless otherwise indicated herein, approaches described in this section are not prior art to the claims listed below and are not admitted as prior art by inclusion in this section.

[0004] In fourth generation (4G) and fifth generation (5G) networks, when a User Equipment (UE) is in a connected state, the UE may perform mobility management through measurement reporting procedures. Specifically, the UE may periodically measure signal quality metrics (e.g., Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) , Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) , and / or Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) ) and trigger measurement reports (MRs) to a network node when certain event conditions (e.g., Event A3, Event A5, defined in 3GPP specification) are satisfied. To avoid unnecessary handovers caused by short-term signal fluctuations, the conventional mobility mechanism may rely on a Time-to-Trigger (TTT) timer, offsets, and hysteresis values as part of the event evaluation process.

[0005] However, in some scenarios, the use of fixed TTT values may cause excessive handover delay. That is, while the TTT timer is running, the UE may continue to experience degraded service quality because a measurement report cannot be triggered until expiration of the timer. This reactive mechanism may prevent the UE from handing over to a better target cell in time, thereby resulting in suboptimal mobility performance, increased risk of radio link failure (RLF) , and degraded user experience.

[0006] Furthermore, although some enhanced mobility schemes attempt to optimize TTT configurations or reduce reporting delay under specific conditions, such approaches may be limited to certain network deployments and may not generalize across diverse mobility scenarios. For example, in high-mobility environments, conventional mechanisms may either trigger handovers too late (due to TTT delay) or too frequently (due to signal fluctuations) , resulting in handover ping-pong effects, unnecessary measurement overhead, or instability in the mobility procedure. Therefore, in nowadays and future networks, relying solely on fixed TTT-based reactive mechanisms may still result in significant latency, unnecessary signaling, and a lack of flexibility in mobility management.

[0007] Accordingly, improving the timeliness and flexibility of triggering measurement reports for handover event evaluation is an important consideration in newly developed wireless communication networks. Therefore, there is a need for schemes that enhance the timeliness and flexibility of triggering measurement reports for handover event evaluation.SUMMARY

[0008] The following summary is illustrative only and is not intended to be limiting in any way. That is, the following summary is provided to introduce concepts, highlights, benefits and advantages of the novel and non-obvious techniques described herein. Select implementations are further described below in the detailed description. Thus, the following summary is not intended to identify essential features of the claimed subject matter, nor is it intended for use in determining the scope of the claimed subject matter.

[0009] An objective of the present disclosure is to propose solutions or schemes that address the aforementioned issues pertaining to managing measurement report using measurement prediction with respect to apparatus in mobile communications.

Overview

[0029] Implementations in accordance with the present disclosure relate to various techniques, methods, schemes and / or solutions pertaining to managing measurement report using measurement prediction with respect to apparatus in mobile communications. According to the present disclosure, a number of possible solutions may be implemented separately or jointly. That is, although these possible solutions may be described below separately, two or more of these possible solutions may be implemented in one combination or another.

[0030] Regarding the present disclosure, a User Equipment (UE) may determine at least one predicted measurement by a prediction model based on at least one measurement. In particular, the UE may input the at least one measurement into the prediction model to output the at least one predicted measurement. Then, the UE may determine whether at least one first predicted condition is satisfied according to the at least one predicted measurement. Each first predicted condition corresponds to a handover event. The UE may determine whether to transmit a measurement report to a network node based on whether the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied. In some cases, the measurement report may be transmitted in an event that the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied.

[0031] Accordingly, using both the predicted measurement (s) and subsequent determination of whether the first predicted condition (s) is satisfied instead of the fixed Time-to-Trigger (TTT) timer to determine whether to transmit measurement reports may significantly advance the transmission time, thereby improving the timeliness and flexibility of triggering measurement reports for handover event evaluation.

[0032] FIG. 1 illustrates an example scenario 100 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. Scenario 100 involves at least one network node and a UE, which may be a part of a wireless communication network (e.g., an LTE network, a 5G / NR network, an IoT network or a 6G network) . Scenario 100 illustrates the current network framework. The UE may connect to the network side. The network side may comprise one or more than one network nodes.

[0033] In some embodiments, the UE may measure signals transmitted from the network nodes (e.g., serving cell and / or target cell) and determine at least one measurement accordingly. The UE may determine at least one predicted measurement by a prediction model based on the at least one measurement. In particular, the UE may input the at least one measurement into the prediction model to generate the at least one predicted measurement.

[0034] More specifically, the prediction model may include a machine learning model (i.e., Artificial Intelligence (AI) model) which is trained using: (1) previous measurement (s) as training input data and (2) subsequent measurement (s) as training output data. Therefore, the UE may provide the at least one measurement to the prediction model to generate the at least one predicted measurement.

[0035] In some cases, the at least one measurement may be associated with an observation window (OW) corresponding to a period prior to a current time of determining the at least one first predicted condition. In other words, the at least one measurement may be measured within the OW. The at least one measurement includes a radio link quality measurement, such as Reference Signal Received Power (RSRP) , Reference Signal Received Quality (RSRQ) , or Signal-to-Interference-plus-Noise Ratio (SINR) .

[0036] Then, the UE may determine whether at least one first predicted condition is satisfied according to the at least one predicted measurement. Each first predicted condition may correspond to a handover event. The UE may determine whether to transmit a measurement report to the network node based on whether at least one first predicted condition is satisfied. In particular, when the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied, the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied, further operation (s) may be used to determine whether to transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0037] In some implementations, the at least one predicted measurement may be associated with a prediction window (PW) . The PW may correspond to a period starting from the current time of determining the at least one first predicted condition. When the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0038] In some cases, the at least one predicted measurement may include a first predicted measurement associated with a serving cell and a second predicted measurement associated with a target cell. The at least one first predicted condition may be satisfied in an event that the second predicted measurement is greater than the first predicted measurement.

[0039] In some implementations, the PW may include a predicted TTT window and an additional window. When the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., not satisfied at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine whether the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window. Then, the UE may determine whether to transmit the measurement report to the network node based on whether the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window.

[0040] In some cases, the UE may determine that the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window. Then, the UE may determine whether a second predicted condition is satisfied during the prediction window according to the at least one predicted measurement. The UE may determine whether to transmit the measurement report to the network node based on whether the second predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted window. In some cases, the second predicted condition is satisfied when the at least one predicted measurement is less than a threshold.

[0041] When the UE determines that the second predicted condition is satisfied during the prediction window (e.g., satisfied at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the UE determines that the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the prediction window (e.g., not satisfied throughout the entire the PW) , the UE may not transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0042] In some cases, UE may determine that the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more times within the predicted TTT window) , the UE may continue to determine new predicted measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition.

[0043] In other words, the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire PW) . The UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that: (1) the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire predicted TTT window) but not satisfied during the additional window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more times within the additional window) , and (2) the second predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied at one or more times within the PW) .

[0044] In addition, the UE may determine not to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that: (1) the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more time within the predicted TTT window) , or (2) the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., not satisfied throughout the entire PW) .

[0045] FIG. 2 illustrates an example scenario 200 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. In particular, the UE may determine measurements associated with a serving cell and a target cell within an OW. The UE may determine predicted measurements for the serving cell and the target cell within an OW using a prediction model based on the measurements within the OW. The predicted measurements may be associated with a PW.

[0046] When the UE determines that the entering condition (s) for the handover event (s) is satisfied, the UE may determine whether the first predicted condition (s) and / or a second prediction condition are / is satisfied according to the predicted measurements. Each first predicted condition corresponds to one handover event. The UE may determine whether to transmit a measurement report based on the first prediction condition (s) and / or the second prediction condition.

[0047] In some cases, when the first predicted condition (s) is satisfied, it may represent that the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled; conversely, when the first predicted condition (s) is not satisfied, it may represent that the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled. In some cases, when the second predicted condition is satisfied, it may indicate that a serving cell measurement is below a threshold; conversely, when the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it may indicate that the serving cell measurement is not below the threshold.

[0048] More specifically, when the first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled throughout the entire PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine whether the first predicted condition is satisfied during a predicted TTT window of the PW.

[0049] When the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled at one or more times within the predicted TTT window) , the UE may continue to determine new measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition. When the first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window but not satisfied during an additional window of the PW (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled throughout the entire predicted TTT window but not fulfilled at one or more times within the additional window) , the UE may determine whether the second condition is satisfied during the PW.

[0050] When the second predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the second predicted condition is below the threshold at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the second predicted condition is not below the threshold throughout the entire PW) , the UE may continue to determine new measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition.

[0051] FIG. 3 illustrates an example scenario 300 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. For example, the UE determines measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) within an OW. When an entering condition for a handover event (e.g., handover event A3) is satisfied, the UE determines predicted measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) associated with a PW according to the measurements using a prediction model.

[0052] The UE determines whether a first prediction condition is satisfied. When the first predicted condition is satisfied, it represents that the entering condition (e.g., serving cell measurement (s) being less than target cell measurement (s) ) for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled. When the first predicted condition is not satisfied, it represents that the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled.

[0053] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is less than the target cell measurement (s) throughout the entire PW) . Accordingly, the UE determines to transmit a measurement report to the network at the present time for performing a handover procedure.

[0054] FIG. 4 illustrates an example scenario 400 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure.

[0055] The UE determines a first prediction condition and a second prediction condition during the PW according to the predicted measurements associated with the PW at a present time. When the second predicted condition is satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is below a threshold. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is not below the threshold.

[0056] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is not less than the target cell measurement (s) at one or more times within the PW) . Then, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is satisfied during a predicted TTT window of the PW but not satisfied during an additional window of the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is less than the target cell measurement (s) throughout the predicted TTT window but not less than the target cell measurement (s) at one or more times within the additional window) . Then, the UE determines that the second predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is below the threshold at one or more times within the PW) . Accordingly, the UE determines to transmit a measurement report to the network at the present time for performing a handover procedure.

[0057] FIG. 5 illustrates an example scenario 500 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure.

[0058] The UE determines a first prediction condition and a second prediction condition during the PW according to the predicted measurements associated with the PW at a present time. When the second predicted condition is satisfied, it indicates that a serving cell measurement (s) is below a threshold. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is not below the threshold.

[0059] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is not less than the target cell measurement (s) at one or more times within the PW) . Then, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is satisfied during a predicted TTT window of the PW but not satisfied during an additional window of the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is less than the target cell measurement (s) throughout the entire predicted TTT window but not satisfied at one or more times within the additional window) . Then, the UE determines that the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement is not below the threshold throughout the entire PW) . Accordingly, the UE determines not to transmit a measurement report to the network at the present time to avoid potential handover ping-pong effects which are frequent back-and-forth handovers between serving and target cells.

[0060] In some embodiments, the UE may measure signals transmitted from the network nodes (e.g., serving cell and / or target cell) and determine at least one measurement accordingly. The UE may determine at least one predicted measurement by a prediction model based on the at least one measurement. In particular, the UE may input the at least one measurement into the prediction model to generate the at least one predicted measurement.

[0061] More specifically, the prediction model may include a machine learning model (i.e., AI model) which is trained using: (1) previous measurement (s) as training input data and (2) subsequent measurement (s) as training output data. Therefore, the UE may provide the at least one measurement to the prediction model to generate the at least one predicted measurement.

[0062] In some cases, the at least one measurement may be associated with an OW corresponding to a period prior to a current time of determining the at least one first predicted condition. In other words, the at least one measurement may be measured within the OW. The at least one measurement includes a radio link quality measurement, such as RSRP, RSRQ, or SINR.

[0063] Then, the UE may determine whether an entering condition corresponding to a handover event has been satisfied for a period. When the UE determines that the entering condition corresponding to the handover event has been satisfied for the period, the UE may determine whether to transmit a measurement report to the network node based on a configured timer, a received flag, or whether a first predicted condition is satisfied. Whether the first predicted condition is satisfied may be determined according to the at least one predicted measurement, and the first predicted condition may correspond to the handover event.

[0064] In other words, when the UE determines that the entering condition corresponding to the handover event has been satisfied for the period, the UE may check if it is allowed to transmit the measurement report.

[0065] In some cases, the configured timer may be configured by the network node. The configured timer may start when a previous measurement report is transmitted. The UE may transmit the measurement report after the configured timer expires.

[0066] In some cases, the received flag may be transmitted by the network node. The UE may decide whether to transmit the measurement report by the received flag indicated by the network node. The received flag may be indicated via Radio Resource Control (RRC) , Media Access Control Control Element (MAC CE) , or Downlink Control Information (DCI) .

[0067] In some cases, when the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied, the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied, further operation (s) may be used to determine whether to transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0068] In some implementations, the at least one predicted measurement may be associated with a PW. The PW may correspond to a period starting from the current time of determining the at least one first predicted condition. When the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0069] In some cases, the at least one predicted measurement may include a first predicted measurement associated with a serving cell and a second predicted measurement associated with a target cell. The at least one first predicted condition may be satisfied in an event that the second predicted measurement is greater than the first predicted measurement.

[0070] In some implementations, the UE may determine a second predicted condition by the at least one first model based on the at least one measurement. The PW may include a predicted TTT window and an additional window. When the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g. not satisfied at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that: (1) the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire predicted TTT window) but not satisfied during the additional window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more times within the additional window) , and (2) the second predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied at one or more times within the PW) .

[0071] In some implementations, the PW may include a predicted TTT window and an additional window.

[0072] In some cases, the UE may determine that the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the predicted TTT window.

[0073] When the UE determines that the second predicted condition is satisfied during the prediction window (e.g., satisfied at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the UE determines that the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the prediction window (e.g., not satisfied throughout the entire the PW) , the UE may not transmit the measurement report to the network node.

[0074] In some cases, UE may determine that the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more times within the predicted TTT window) , the UE may continue to determine new predicted measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition.

[0075] In other words, the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that the at least one first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., satisfied throughout the entire PW) .

[0076] In addition, the UE may determine not to transmit the measurement report to the network node in an event that: (1) the at least one first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., not satisfied at one or more time within the predicted TTT window) , or (2) the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., not satisfied throughout the entire PW) .

[0077] FIGs. 6A and 6B illustrate example scenarios 600A and 600B under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. In particular, the UE may determine measurements associated with a serving cell and a target cell within an OW. The UE may determine predicted measurements for the serving cell and the target cell using a prediction model based on the measurements within the OW. The predicted measurements may be associated with a PW.

[0078] Then, the UE may determine that an entering condition corresponding to a handover event has been satisfied for a period. The UE may determine whether a transmission of a measurement report is allowed.

[0079] In some cases, a configured timer starts when a previous measurement report is transmitted. The UE is allowed to transmit the measurement report after the configured timer expires. The UE is not allowed to transmit the measurement report before the configured timer has expired.

[0080] In some cases, the UE decides whether to transmit the measurement report by a received flag indicated by the network node. The received flag is indicated via RRC, MAC CE, or DCI. The UE is allowed to transmit the measurement report when the received flag includes a positive value (e.g., 1) . The UE is not allowed to transmit the measurement report when the received flag includes a negative value (e.g., 0) .

[0081] In some cases, the step of determining whether the UE is allowed to transmit the measurement report in FIG. 6A is specified in the sub-steps (shown in the dotted frame) in FIG. 6B. In particular, the UE may determine whether the first predicted condition (s) and / or a second prediction condition are / is satisfied according to the predicted measurements. Each first predicted condition corresponds to one handover event. The UE may determine whether to transmit a measurement report based on the first prediction condition (s) and / or the second prediction condition.

[0082] In some cases, when the first predicted condition is satisfied, it may represent that the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled; conversely, when the first predicted condition is not satisfied, it may represent that the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled. In some cases, when the second predicted condition is satisfied, it may indicate that a serving cell measurement is below a threshold; conversely, when the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it may indicate that the serving cell measurement is not below the threshold.

[0083] More specifically, when the first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is fulfilled throughout the entire PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine whether the first predicted condition is satisfied during a predicted TTT window of the PW.

[0084] When the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the predicted TTT window (e.g., when the entering condition for the corresponding handover event is not fulfilled at one or more times within the predicted TTT window) , the UE may continue to determine new measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition.

[0085] When the second predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the second predicted condition is below the threshold at one or more times within the PW) , the UE may determine to transmit the measurement report to the network node. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., when the second predicted condition is not below the threshold throughout the entire PW) , the UE may continue to determine new measurements and corresponding first prediction condition and second prediction condition.

[0086] FIG. 7 illustrates an example scenario 700 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. For example, the UE determines measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) within an OW. When an entering condition of a handover event has been satisfied for a period, the UE decides whether it is allowed to transmit a measurement report by different conditions.

[0087] More specifically, the UE determines predicted measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) associated with a PW according to the measurements using a prediction model. The UE determines whether a first prediction condition is satisfied.

[0088] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is less than the target cell measurement (s) throughout the entire PW) . Accordingly, the UE determines to transmit a measurement report to the network at the present time for performing a handover procedure.

[0089] FIG. 8 illustrates an example scenario 800 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. For example, the UE determines measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) within an OW. When an entering condition of a handover event has been satisfied for a period, the UE decides whether it is allowed to transmit a measurement report by different conditions.

[0090] More specifically, the UE determines predicted measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) associated with a PW according to the measurements using a prediction model. The UE determines a first prediction condition and a second prediction condition during the PW according to the predicted measurements associated with the PW at a present time. When the second predicted condition is satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is below a threshold. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is not below the threshold.

[0091] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is not less than the target cell measurement (s) at one or more times within the PW) .

[0092] FIG. 9 illustrates an example scenario 900 under schemes in accordance with implementations of the present disclosure. For example, the UE determines measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) within an OW. When an entering condition of a handover event has been satisfied for a period, the UE decides whether it is allowed to transmit a measurement report by different conditions.

[0093] More specifically, the UE determines predicted measurements (e.g., measurements associated with serving cell and / or target cell) associated with a PW according to the measurements using a prediction model. The UE determines a first prediction condition and a second prediction condition during the PW according to the predicted measurements associated with the PW at a present time. When the second predicted condition is satisfied, it indicates that a serving cell measurement (s) is below a threshold. When the second predicted condition is not satisfied, it indicates that the serving cell measurement (s) is not below the threshold.

[0094] In this example, the UE determines that the first predicted condition is not satisfied during the PW (e.g., the serving cell measurement (s) is not less than the target cell measurement (s) at one or more times within the PW) .

[0095] In some implementations, the prediction model (e.g., machine learning models or AI models) of the present disclosure may undergo training before being put into use. More specifically, some measurements and / or assistance information (e.g., UE assistance information (UAI) ) may be employed as training input data, and subsequent measurements be employed as training output data. Accordingly, after training, the prediction model may be used to receive obtained measurements and generate predicted measurements.
