Description

ORGANIC COMPOUND AND USE THEREOFTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the technical field of organic light emitting materials and, in particular, to an organic compound and use thereof.BACKGROUND

[0002] Organic light emitting diode / device (OLED) is a self-emitting element, and includes a pair of electrodes (i.e., anode and cathode) and a plurality of organic layers including at least an emitting layer (EML) between the electrodes. Recently OLED devices have been widely used in displays of smartphones or televisions, and the market thereof is increasing year by year.

[0003] In order to improve the performance of OLED, a hole transporting layer (HTL) and an electron transporting layer (ETL) are often applied to OLED optionally. In case of blue emitting OLED and other devices, a blue primary layer (BPL) , which is also called as electron blocking layer (EBL) , has been inserted between EML and HTL.

[0004] In order to improve power consumption of OLED, a phosphorescent emitter has been used in the EML. However, in case of blue emitting OLED, EML should have a wide energy gap (generally the first triplet state T1≧2.8eV) . Therefore BPL should have wider energy gap than EML. Accordingly, a material for BPL is highly restricted. In this case, the material for EBL generally has low blue index (BI) and / or high driving voltage.SUMMARY

[0051] To make the objectives, technical solutions, and advantages of embodiments of the present disclosure clearer, the following clearly and comprehensively describes the technical solutions in embodiments of the present disclosure with reference to the accompanying drawings in embodiments of the present disclosure. Apparently, the described embodiments are merely a part rather than all embodiments of the present disclosure. All other embodiments obtained by persons of ordinary skill in the art based on embodiments of the present disclosure without creative effort shall fall within the protection scope of the present disclosure.

[0052] In the present application, “and / or” , describing an association relationship of the associated objects, indicates that there are three kinds of relationships, for example, A and / or B may indicate: the existence of A alone, the existence of A and B at the same time, and the existence of B alone.

[0053] In the present disclosure, when reference is made to a group, the group may be substituted or unsubstituted unless otherwise specified. For example, when reference is made to a silyl group, the silyl group may be substituted or unsubstituted; when reference is made to an amino group, the amino group may be substituted or unsubstituted.

[0054] In the present disclosure, organic light emitting device mainly include, but is not limited to, organic light emitting diode (OLED) . The following will take OLED as an example to explain the solution and principle of the present disclosure.

[0055] Generally, an OLED includes at least one organic layer disposed between and electrically connected to an anode and a cathode. When a current is applied, the anode injects holes and the cathode injects electrons into the organic layer (emitting layer) . The injected holes and electrons each migrate toward the oppositely charged electrode. When an electron and hole localize on the same molecule in an emitting layer for recombination, an “exciton” which is a localized electron-hole pair having an excited energy state, is formed. Light is emitted when the exciton relaxes via a photoemissive mechanism.

[0056] In the OLED, electrons do not pass through EML, it is necessary for BPL to have an electron blocking property. Therefore, BPL should have wider energy gap than EML. In blue phosphorescent OLEDs, blue phosphorescent host has large energy gap, the chemical structure of BPL thus is highly restricted. The exiting compound BP001 has low T1 (<2.8eV) , and because the efficiency of conventional OLED is lower than theoretical expected value, therefore, a part of recombination energy would be lost by BPL. In case of blue phosphorescent OLED, EML often includes p-host, n-host and blue phosphorescent emitter, while in the case of green or red OLED, single host is available. Usually p-host has electron donor character and n-host has electron acceptor character.

[0057] FIG. 1 shows an OLED 100, which may include a substrate 110, an anode 115, a hole injection layer 120, a hole transporting layer 125, a blue primary layer (BPL) 130, an emitting layer (EML) 135, a hole blocking layer (HBL) 140, an  electron transporting layer 145, an electron injection layer (EIL) 150, a cathode 160. It is known in the art, the OLED may include other layer other than the above layers as required.

[0058] The present disclosure is mainly aimed at blue emitting devices, and in the present disclosure, the blue primary layer (BPL) and electron blocking layer (EBL) may be used interchangeably.

[0059] The organic light emitting device 100 may be, but is not limited to, a blue emitting OLED, and one or more of the organic layers thereof, for example, EBL (BPL) and / or HBL, may include an organic compound represented by Formula (1) :

[0060] in Formula (1) , Ar1 to Ar4 each independently are any one of hydrogen, deuterium, C1-C6 alkyl group, C6-C30 aryl group, C2-C30 heteroaryl group, silyl group, amino group, cyano group, or halogen group, and

[0061] where Ar1 and Ar2 each are C6-C30 aryl group or C2-C30 heteroaryl group, and one of Ar1 and Ar2 is substituted by a group containing carbazole group represented by Formula (2) , or a bicarbazole group represented by Formula (3) , and / or

[0062] Ar3 and Ar4 each are C6-C30 aryl group or C2-C30 heteroaryl group, and one of Ar3 and Ar4 is substituted by a group containing carbazole group represented by Formula (2) , or a bicarbazole group represented by Formula (3) ;

[0063] in Formula (2) , Ar5 and Ar6 each independently are any one of hydrogen, deuterium, C1-C6 alkyl group, C6-C30 aryl group, C2-C30 heteroaryl group, silyl group, amino group, cyano group, or halogen group,

[0064] in which Ar7 and Ar8 are defined as same as Ar5 and Ar6.

[0065] Refer to FIG. 1, generally speaking, holes and electrons meet and recombine in EML. Emission occurs when recombination energy is released. It is necessary for blue emission to have higher energy than green or red. On the other hand, Blue Primary Layer (BPL) is constituted between HTL and EML in order to improve the luminous efficiency. If BPL has a narrower energy gap than EML, the recombination energy would lost through BPL and the luminous efficiency would be low. Therefore, BPL materials should be comprised of wide energy gap chemical units, which are very restricted. Under such a severe condition, the inventors have found that the organic compound represented by Formula (1) described above, especially the compound BH038 which will be described in below, is suitable for BPL material.

[0066] When the organic compounds of the present disclosure are used in the light emitting device, electronic device, lighting device and display device, especially blue emitting device e.g., blue emitting OLED, may reduce a driving voltage of these devices, increase BI, reduce the power consumption of these devices, and prolong the service life of these devices.

[0067] In an embodiment, C1-C6 alkyl group may be selected from a group consisting of methyl, ethyl, n-propyl, i-propyl, n-butyl, s-butyl, t-butyl, n-pentyl, cyclopentyl, n-hexyl and cyclohexyl.

[0068] In an embodiment, C6-C30 aryl group may be selected from a group consisting of phenyl, biphenyl, terphenyl, naphthyl, anthryl, phenanthryl, fluorantenyl, pyrenyl, chrycenyl, triphenylenyl, perylenyl, or fluorenyl.

[0069] In an embodiment, C2-C30 heteroaryl group may be selected from a group consisting of pyrrole, furan, thiophen, indole, benzofuran, benzothiophen, carbazole, dibenzofuran, dibenzothiophene, indolocarbazole, silole, benzosilole, dibenzosilole, pyridine, pyrimidine, triazine, oxiazole, thiazole, imidazole, benzoxisazole, benzothiazole, benzimidazole, triazole, benzotriazole, quinoline, or quinoxaline.

[0070] In an embodiment, the halogen group may be selected from a group consisting of fluorine, chlorine, bromine, or iodine.

[0071] In an embodiment, one or more of Ar1 to Ar8 is substituted by hydrogen, deuterium, C1-C6 alkyl group, C6-C30 aryl group, C2-C30 heteroaryl group, silyl group, amino group, cyano group, or halogen group.

[0072] In an embodiment, Ar1 and Ar2 each may be aryl group, and one of Ar1 and Ar2 is substituted by the group containing carbazole group represented by Formula (2) or the bicarbazole group represented by Formula (3) .

[0076] Furthermore, the organic compound is at least one of the following compounds:
