23472 results about "Toxicology" patented technology

Toxicology is a scientific discipline, overlapping with biology, chemistry, pharmacology, and medicine, that involves the study of the adverse effects of chemical substances on living organisms and the practice of diagnosing and treating exposures to toxins and toxicants. The relationship between dose and its effects on the exposed organism is of high significance in toxicology. Factors that influence chemical toxicity include the dosage, duration of exposure (whether it is acute or chronic), route of exposure, species, age, sex, and environment. Toxicologists are experts on poisons and poisoning. There is a movement for evidence-based toxicology as part of the larger movement towards evidence-based practices.

Insecticidal composition containing thiacloprid amide and biogenic insecticide

The invention discloses an insecticidal composition containing thiacloprid amide and a biogenic insecticide. The biogenic insecticide is selected from avermectin, emamectin benzoate, spinosad or spinetoram, and the ratio by weight of the thiacloprid amide to the biogenic insecticide is 1:40-40:1. The composition can be prepared into a dosage form which is agriculturally acceptable, such as water dispersible granules, wettable powder, a suspending agent, a dispersible oil suspending agent, a microcapsule suspending agent, missible oil or a micro emulsifier. The insecticidal composition has reasonable ingredients, great insecticide effect and low chemical cost. The activity and the insecticidal effect of the insecticidal composition are not just the simple sum of the activity and the insecticidal effect of all ingredients. Compared with the traditional single preparation, the insecticidal composition not only has remarkable insecticidal effect, but also has remarkable synergistic function, mitigates resistance generation, has small preparation residual quantity and high safety, does not pollute crops and meets the safety requirements of agricultural pesticide preparations. The insecticidal composition disclosed by the invention has better control effects on rice stem borers, vegetable plutella xylostella, beet armyworms, cotton bollworms and apple olethreutid.

Penetration Enhancer Combinations for Transdermal Delivery

A high throughput screening and isolation system identifies rare enhancer mixtures from a candidate pool of penetration enhancer combinations. The combinations are screened for high penetration but low irritation potential using a unique data mining method to find new potent and safe chemical penetration enhancer combinations. The members of a library of chemical penetration enhancer combinations are screened with a high throughput device to identify “hot spots”, particular combinations that show higher chemical penetration enhancement compared to neighboring compositions. The irritation potentials of the hot spot combinations are measured to identify combinations that also show low irritation potential. A active component, such as a drug, is then combined with the combination in a formulation which is tested for the ability of the drug to penetrate into or through skin. It is then assessed whether the formulation can deliver the quantity of drug required, and animal tests are conducted to confirm in vivo the ability of the chemical penetration enhancer combinations to facilitate transport of sufficient active molecules across the skin to achieve therapeutic levels of the active molecule in the animal's blood. The invention provides specific unique and rare mixtures of chemical penetration enhancers that enhance skin permeability to hydrophilic macromolecules by more than 50-fold without inducing skin irritation, such as combinations of sodium laurel ether sulfate and 1-phenyl piperazine, and combinations of N-lauryl sarcosine and Span 20/sorbitan monolaurate.

Method for licensed lender disbursement of loan proceeds to an out-of-state borrower to establish with greater certainty that the law of the state in which the licensed lender is located is the state law which governs the loan transaction

A method for disbursing loan proceeds, which has the following steps: (a) a borrower residing in a different jurisdiction from the location of a licensed lender contacting said lender about obtaining a loan; (b) said licensed lender forwarding the application to said borrower; (c) said borrower transmitting the executed loan application and requested documentation to said licensed lender; (d) said licensed lender accepting and processing the loan application; (e) said licensed lender approving the loan application; (f) said licensed lender pursuant to authorization of borrower automatically opening an account for said borrower at a banking institution located in the same state jurisdiction as such licensed lender and its banking institution; (g) said licensed lender disbursing the loan proceeds from its funding account at its banking institution to said borrower's newly created bank account; (h) such loan proceeds then being automatically wired from said borrower's new bank account at said banking institution in the same state jurisdiction as such the licensed lender and its banking institution to a bank checking account of said borrower in a different state jurisdiction where said borrower currently banks; (i) and, said licensed payday lender, pursuant to a pre-authorization by borrower, arranging repayment of such loan through the Federal Reserve to debit the loan amount and accrued interest and fees from said bank account of borrower in his/her home state jurisdiction by having such money wired to the bank account of the licensed lender at such licensed lender's banking institution.
