AEROSOL GENERATING ARTICLEThis application claims the benefit of priority to Chinese patent application No. 202411643001.8, filed on November 15, 2024, entitled “Aerosol Generating Article” , the entire disclosures of which are incorporated herein by reference. This application also claims the benefit of priority to Chinese Patent Application No. 202411536666.9, filed on October 30, 2024, and entitled “Capsule Used as Aerosol Generating Substrate and Aerosol Generating Article” , the entire disclosure of which is incorporated herein by reference.TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present disclosure relates to the technical field of tobacco products, and more particularly to an aerosol generating article.BACKGROUND

[0002] Heat Not Burn (HNB) , also known as low temperature cigarette, is a novel type of tobacco product that incorporates a heating device and a stick which is designed with an idea of “only heating but not burning" and is exemplified as “low temperature cigarettes” . The low temperature cigarettes can heat processed reconstituted tobacco (such as, a special stick) utilizing a special heating device (such as, a smoking device) to a certain temperature and to such an extent that the reconstituted tobacco is heated sufficiently to emit smoke for consumption. The HNB has advantages in that it is more harmless and can restore a pure taste and throat sensation of a cigarette, and thus can provide smokers with a nearest alternative to traditional cigarettes.

[0003] HNB product includes a heating device and a HNB stick. The HNB stick generally includes an aerosol generating segment, a cooling segment and a filter segment. The aerosol generating segment is an important part. The aerosol generating segment is heated in a heating chamber and emits smoke similar to traditional cigarettes, and then the smoke passes through the cooling segment and the filter segment for the smokers to inhale.

[0004] In existing HNB stick on the market, the aerosol generating segment can generate smoke mainly using reconstituted tobacco sheets or tobacco shreds as a core material and glycerol or propylene glycol as an aerosol generating agent with addition of flavors and other components through a lower heating temperature (usually<350℃) to achieve a smoking effect. HNB products release fewer harmful substances, and actual heating temperature is significantly lower than traditional tobacco, which results in less smoke release and reduced smoking sensation. To increase smoke amount of the product, the amount of glycerol needs to be increased. However, glycerol itself has good hygroscopicity, which can result in high hygroscopicity of the product and cause great inconvenience for later processing and storage. Moreover, after opening the packaging, the protection of the cigarettes cannot be guaranteed, which can cause uneven smoking of different cigarettes. In addition, the conduction of heat requires a time process, and the smoke amount of the same cigarette at different times is also inconsistent.

[0005] In order to increase the smoke amount, existing technologies have proposed using a capsule encapsulating propylene glycol / glycerol as an aerosol generating substrate, but most related technologies only use the capsule as a part of an aerosol generating material. Some patents also mention using a pure capsule directly as aerosol generating materials and placing the capsule in an aerosol generating substrate segment, where a single capsule is used and there is a need to address a problem of core material outflow after capsule rupture, for example, by absorbing the core material of the capsule using an absorbent pad. However, relevant technical literature has not explicitly proposed how to optimize properties of the core material of the aerosol generating capsule to solve the technical problem of directly using the aerosol generating capsule as the aerosol generating material.

[0006] The prior art like patent application EP4062775A1 proposes a capsule applicable to aerosol generating substrate segment, but the capsule is neither spherical nor seamless, and its core material comprises tobacco particles, which cannot form a uniform emulsion with other core materials at around 60℃, and the preparation method is not disclosed. The technology of patent application US2023 / 397650A1 describes an aerosol generating capsule containing solid susceptor particles in core material, which similarly fails to form a uniform emulsion at 60℃, and its manufacturing process is also unspecified. The technology of patent application US2015 / 296874A1 introduces a core-shell capsule with cores that can be gels, suspensions, dispersions, emulsion, or colloids. However, it also does not address emulsion uniformity at 60℃ either. The shell of capsule prepared by the diffusion method is porous, and the core material is prone to leakage. Generally, an additional shell is needed to protect the core material.SUMMARY OF THE DISCLOSURE

[0007] Therefore, an embodiment of the present disclosure provides a HNB product (also referred to as a heated tobacco product (HTP) , a low-temperature cigarette product, or generically as a heated product) , namely an aerosol generating article, which can increase smoke release amount and smoke release continuity, reduce heating release temperature and eliminate the need for an absorbent pad to absorb a core material in an aerosol generating substrate segment.

[0008] An embodiment of the present disclosure provides an aerosol generating article including an aerosol generating substrate segment. The aerosol generating substrate segment includes an aerosol generating capsule, the aerosol generating capsule is spherical seamless capsule, and the aerosol generating capsule includes a core material. The core material is a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture at room temperature, and the core material can be stirred evenly to form an emulsion at 60℃. The capsule is commonly known as soft capsule. After the aerosol generating capsule is heated and ruptured, the core material will flow out. The core material in form of liquid has good fluidity, can flow out in large quantities from a ruptured crack and will not adhere to a shell of the aerosol generating capsule, especially when the content of an aerosol generating agent (such as propylene glycol and glycerol) is high. When the core material is a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture, even in a heated state, the core material will not instantly flow out from the crack, and the core material flowing out is more likely to adhere to the shell of the aerosol generating capsule, which can effectively prevent the core material from flowing out of a tube of the aerosol generating article, and thus a specific absorbent pad is not required to absorb the core material.

[0009] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment is devoid of absorbent material. By omitting the encapsulated liquid core absorption component, the structural complexity of the product is reduced, thereby lowering the manufacturing difficulty for aerosol generating articles.

[0010] According to some embodiments, any component of the core material is soluble in the oil phase or the aqueous phase at 60℃. Only when all the core material components are dissolved in either the oil phase or the aqueous phase can they be stirred evenly to form an emulsion. If any component cannot dissolve in either the oil phase or the aqueous phase, a uniform emulsion cannot be formed. Only by forming a uniform emulsion can consistent capsules be prepared, especially ensuring a high yield in the preparation of capsules by the dropping method.

[0011] According to some embodiments, the shell material of the aerosol generating capsule includes any one or more of the following gelling agents: plant gel, animal gel, microbial gel, starch and modified starch. These shell materials are commonly used in capsule preparation, ensuring a tight encapsulation effect and effectively preventing leakage of the core material. Furthermore, the capsule includes only one layer of the shell, and the shell directly encapsulates and contacts the core material.

[0012] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule is prepared by the dropping method. The capsules prepared by the dropping method are seamless soft capsules, which have a series of advantages such as excellent sphericity, consistent capsule size and good encapsulation effect.

[0013] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment includes a plurality of aerosol generating capsules. With same smoke release amount, a multi-capsule system can reduce the content of the aerosol generating agent (such as propylene glycol and glycerol) contained in each aerosol generating capsule. During a heating release process, the aerosol generating capsules near a heat source are first ruptured. Due to a small amount of core material in each aerosol generating capsule, the core material can adhere to the shell of the aerosol generating capsule. The aerosol generating agent in the core material continues to evaporate and release smoke and takes away some heat. As the aerosol generating agent evaporates, the heat continues to accumulate, and the aerosol generating capsules slightly away from the heat source will also be ruptured. The aerosol generating agent in the corresponding core material will continue to evaporate and take away some heat after release, until the corresponding aerosol generating agent is consumed completely and the heat continues to accumulate. The aerosol generating capsules far away from the heat source will also be ruptured later. Therefore, multiple aerosol generating capsules will continue to be ruptured sequentially during heating, and the core material will not flow out in large quantities at once, which can prevent a large amount of core material flowing out instantly after the aerosol generating capsules are ruptured, and also eliminate the need for the specific absorbent pad to absorb the core material. Furthermore, multiple aerosol generating capsules are ruptured sequentially, and the aerosol generating agent is gradually released, which can achieve better continuity and stability of the smoke and more even release of the smoke.

[0014] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule has a particle size of 1 mm to 3 mm, and preferably 1.5 mm to 2.5 mm. When the smoke release amount is designed to be the same, if the aerosol generating capsule has a too small particle size, then each aerosol generating capsule has a low amount of the core material, and thus, although uniformity of smoke release may be improved, a reduced carrying capacity of the aerosol generating agent may also be caused, and filling void volume fraction may also be reduced, which may both have an adverse effect on smoke release effect. Therefore, an appropriate particle size, especially a moderate particle size, can ensure a good smoking experience, and can also prevent the core material of the aerosol generating capsule with a large particle size flowing out from the aerosol generating article.

[0015] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule has a filling amount of 0.05 g to 0.5 g in the aerosol generating substrate segment. In some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule has a filling amount of 0.1 g to 0.3 g. At a certain smoke release amount, a higher filling amount may cause a waste of material, and a lower filling amount may reduce aerosol generating continuity, thus a moderate filling amount can ensure a good smoking sensation.

[0016] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule has a filling amount of 5 capsules to 100 capsules in the aerosol generating substrate segment. That is, the number of aerosol generating capsules filled in the aerosol generation substrate segment is 5 capsules to 100 capsules, and it is preferred to fill 15 capsules to 30 capsules. In some embodiments, the aerosol generating capsule has a filling amount of 15 capsules to 30 capsules. When the smoke release amount is designed to be the same, a lower number of the aerosol generating capsules may lead to too much core material per capsule, which can easily cause the core material to flow out from the aerosol generating article, and a higher number of the aerosol generating capsules may lead to an increase in draw resistance, which will affect smoking experience. Moreover, a moderate filling amount can also ensure a uniform aerosol release.

[0017] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment does not include other aerosol generating materials other than the aerosol generating capsule. Since different aerosol generating materials have inconsistent heating release temperatures, the aerosol generating capsule can release at a lower temperature, and the heating release temperature can be thus further reduced. Using a single type of aerosol generating material, such as, an aerosol generating capsule, can employ a lower heating release temperature while maintaining release speed, which can save energy consumption and reduce a potential hazardous component released at a high temperature.

[0018] According to some embodiments, a heating release temperature of the aerosol generating article ranges from 180℃ to 300℃, and preferably from 200℃ to 250℃. The heating release temperature is the temperature at which the aerosol generating article is heated. At this temperature, the aerosol generating article can effectively release aerosols. The release temperature of the aerosol generating capsule is relatively low, and at lower temperatures, the fluidity of the core material is weaker, making it easier to adhere to the shell of the capsule.

[0019] According to some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment does not include a carrier capable of absorbing the core material. Without the carrier for absorbing the core material, the material component of the aerosol generating substrate segment is relatively simple, so the harm of the smoke released by heating is smaller. Moreover, the difficulty of production and manufacturing can also be reduced.

[0020] In the aerosol generating article according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the aerosol generating substrate segment includes an aerosol generating capsule, and the core material of the aerosol generating capsule is a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture, which can achieve uniform, sufficient and constant smoke release at a certain heating temperature and thus enhance smoking sensation of the smokers. Meanwhile, due to the relatively weak fluidity of the core material and its tendency to adhere more easily to the shell, the aerosol generating substrate segment does not require a specific absorbent pad for absorbing the core material, which can reduce structural complexity of the aerosol generating article. Moreover, packaging of the shell can provide good protection for the core material in the aerosol generating capsule, avoid quality changes caused by external environmental influences, ensure the stability of the core material in long-term storage of the product, and better guarantee the quality of the product.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0021] The accompanying drawings are used to provide a clearer understanding of the present disclosure and form a part of the specification. The accompanying drawings are used together with the embodiments of the present disclosure to explain the present disclosure and do not constitute limitations on the present disclosure.

[0029] In order to resolve the problem of low smoke amount and difficulty in preservation due to significant environmental impact caused by the use of reconstituted tobacco sheets or tobacco shreds as core materials in the aerosol generating segment of existing HNB product, an embodiment of the present disclosure provides an aerosol generating article, which can achieve uniform, sufficient and constant smoke release at lower heating temperatures, and enhance smoking sensation.

[0030] Referring to FIG. 1, FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a structural view of an aerosol generating article 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure.

[0031] In this embodiment, the aerosol generating article 10 includes an aerosol generating substrate segment. The aerosol generating substrate segment includes one or more aerosol generating capsules 104, the aerosol generating capsule is spherical seamless capsule. Each aerosol generating capsule 104 includes a core material, and the core material is a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture at room temperature, and the core material can be stirred evenly to form an emulsion at 60℃.

[0032] During low temperature heating, the core material can generate smoke. By using the core material in the form of a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture, the aerosol generating capsules 104 can achieve uniform and sufficient smoke release under low temperature heating, which can enhance the smoking sensation of the smokers. Moreover, compared with simple liquid aerosol generating agent, the core material in the form of a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture can effectively increase smoke release continuity and enhance the smoking experience when heated. In addition, compared with the structure of a single aerosol generating capsule, multiple aerosol generating capsules can provide better smoke release continuity when heated.

[0033] In some embodiments, the shape of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be circular, elliptical, etc., and the particle size may be the same or different, which is not limited by the present disclosure. For example, in some embodiments, the particle size of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be designed to be 1 mm-3 mm, and preferably 1.5 mm-2.5 mm. In some embodiments, the particle size of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be 1.8 mm, 2.0 mm, and so on.

[0034] Depending on different particle size of the aerosol generating capsules 104 and different length of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101, the number or weight of the aerosol generating capsules 104 filled in the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 may also vary. For example, in some embodiments, the filling amount of the aerosol generating capsules 104 is 5-100 particles, and preferably 15-30 particles. In some embodiments, 20 or more particles may be preferred. For example, in some embodiments, the filling amount of the aerosol generating capsules 104 is 0.05 g-0.5 g, and preferably 0.1 g-0.3 g.

[0035] In the aerosol generating article according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, the aerosol generating capsules 104 can be released at a certain temperature, that is, when heated to a certain temperature, the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104 is ruptured and the core material releases smoke. For example, in some embodiments, the heating release temperature of the aerosol generating article is 180℃-300℃, and preferably 200℃-250℃.

[0036] The core material in the aerosol generating capsules according to the embodiments of the present disclosure is in a non-liquid form, which can slow down the speed of smoke release and effectively improve the smoke release continuity. In specific implementation, multiple aerosol generating capsules of small particle size are preferable. During heating, multiple aerosol generating capsules 104 will not be ruptured simultaneously due to their different positions and degrees of heating, which can further enhance the smoke release continuity.

[0037] In some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment may only include the aerosol generating capsules 104 described above, and does not include any other aerosol generating materials other than the aerosol generating capsules.

[0038] In other embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment may also simultaneously include the aerosol generating capsules 104 and other aerosol generating substrates or materials.

[0039] In some embodiments, the length of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 may be arbitrarily set, for example, the length of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 may be 10%to 60%of a total length of the aerosol generating article 10.

[0040] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the core material of the aerosol generating capsules 104 mainly includes an aerosol generating agent, and the mass proportion of the smoking generating agent in the core material of the aerosol generating capsule may be, for example, 4%to 60%.

[0041] In some embodiments of the present disclosure, the main component of the aerosol generating agent may include Propylene Glycol (PG) and / or Vegetable Glycerol (VG) . For example, in some embodiments, the component of the aerosol generating agent includes propylene glycol and glycerol, with propylene glycol and glycerol accounting for 4-60wt%of the weight of the core material. In some embodiments, propylene glycol and glycerol may account for 15 wt %-50 wt %of the weight of the core material. In other embodiments, propylene glycol and glycerol may account for 25 wt %-45 wt %of the weight of the core material, such as 25 wt %, 30 wt %, 35 wt %, 40 wt %, or 45 wt %, etc.

[0042] By combining propylene glycol and glycerol, a lower aerosol release temperature can be achieved while having sufficient smoke release. Using the aerosol generating material encapsulated by a capsule can enable the aerosol generating article to achieve uniform and sufficient smoke release at lower heating temperatures, which can reduce the energy consumption required for heating during suction, reduce the release of harmful substances, and improve the smoking sensation of the smokers.

[0043] Glycerol generates a large amount of smoke and has a sweet taste. The visual effect of smoke generated by propylene glycol is weak, but propylene glycol can have a strong throat sensation. Therefore, in specific implementation, there can be various choices for the ratio of propylene glycol to glycerol to meet the preferences of different smokers. For example, the ratio of glycerol to propylene glycol can be selected in the range of 2: 8 to 8: 2.

[0044] In some embodiments, in order to provide a rich mouthfeel, other components may also be added to the core material of the aerosol generating capsules 104, for example, the core material may also include but not limited to any one or more of the following components: flavor, extract, nicotine, nicotine salt, etc. For example, in some embodiments, the core material also includes flavor and / or extract accounting for 0.1 wt %to 20 wt %of the weight of the core material. In some embodiments, the core material further includes nicotine and / or nicotine salts accounting for 0.1 wt %-20 wt %of the weight of the core material. The extract may be animal extract or plant extract, such as musk, ambergris, tea extract, momordica grosvenorii extract, etc. The taste may be adjusted as required.

[0045] It should be noted that the component and ratio of the aerosol generating agent in multiple aerosol generating capsules 104 may be the same or different, which is not limited by the present disclosure.

[0046] In some embodiments, the core material of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may further include a lipophilic formulation and a structuring agent. The structuring agent may include cellulose and / or cellulose derivative, low molecular weight lipid and surfactant. The core material may be a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture. The combination of cellulose and / or cellulose derivative with low molecular weight lipid can facilitate the formation of a network structure that is conducive to the dispersion and fixation of propylene glycol and glycerol in the lipophilic formulation. The surfactant helps to form an oil film between the core material and the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104, thereby facilitating the packaging of the core material by the shell. The core material formed by propylene glycol and glycerol, lipophilic formulation and structuring agent is in the form of a colloid, a paste or a solid-liquid mixture at room temperature (25℃) , which can facilitate the stable encapsulating of the core material by the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104.

[0047] It should be noted that the lipophilic formulation and the structuring agent in the core material are used to encapsulate the aerosol generating agent and other components. In order to encapsulate the aerosol generating agent and other components in the core material, other encapsulation methods in existing technology can also be used, such as coating rounding method, frozen coating method, coagulation method, etc.

[0048] In some embodiments, the material of the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be a thermosetting resin, which is formed by curing epoxy resin under a photoinitiator.

[0049] In some embodiments, the material of the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may include, but is not limited to, any one or more of following gelling agents: plant gel, animal gel, microbial gel, starch, modified starch materials, etc. The animal gel may be gelatin, fish gel, chitosan, etc., and the plant gel may be carrageenan, sodium alginate, gellan gum, or tamarind gum, etc.

[0050] In order to facilitate the shaping during processing, the material of the shell may further include a curing agent. The curing agent may be a polyol, such as glycerol or sorbitol.

[0051] In some embodiments, the material of the shell may further include a reinforcing agent, such as a metal salt, specifically calcium chloride, potassium chloride, calcium carbonate, calcium phosphate, or monocalcium phosphate.

[0052] The thickness of the shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be designed to be 30 μm-150 μm, such as 50 μm, 80 μm, 100 μm, 120 μm, 140 μm, and so on.

[0053] In some embodiments of preparing the aerosol generating capsules 104, raw materials containing propylene glycol and glycerol, lipophilic formulation and structuring agent can be mixed to obtain the core material. Raw materials containing gelling agents, curing agents and water are used to prepare a shell liquid, and then the core material is encapsulated with the shell liquid to produce the aerosol generating capsules. The method of encapsulating the core material with the shell liquid to prepare the aerosol generating capsules can adopt some existing encapsulation methods, such as concentric tube dropping method.

[0054] The shell of the aerosol generating capsules 104 may be ruptured at a certain heating temperature, which causes the core material to release and generate aerosols. The release temperature of the aerosol generating capsules 104 is usually lower than the smoke generating temperature of reconstituted tobacco sheets or tobacco shreds added with aerosol generating agents such as glycerol or propylene glycol. In some embodiments, the heating release temperature of the aerosol generating article may be 180℃-300℃. In some embodiments, the heating release temperature of the aerosol generating article may be 200℃-250℃, such as 230℃, 240℃, and so on. Compared with existing HNB products, the aerosol generating article according to the embodiments of the present disclosure can reduce the waiting time from heating to smoking. At different heating temperatures, the amount of aerosol released by the aerosol generating capsules 104 may vary.

[0055] In addition, as the heating temperature continues to rise, the amount of the aerosols released by the aerosol generating capsules 104 gradually increase. When reaching a certain temperature, such as 300℃, if there are other mixed aerosol generating materials, other mixed aerosol generating materials outside the aerosol generating capsules 104 also begin to generate smoke, which can further enhance the suction experience of the smokers. In addition, some components such as flavor may also be added to the mixed aerosol generating materials to enrich the taste of aerosols and better meet the needs of different smokers for taste.

[0056] In some embodiments, in order to enhance different mouthfeels, one or more auxiliary material capsules may be added to the aerosol generating substrate segment 101. That is to say, the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 includes the aerosol generating capsules 104 mentioned above and the auxiliary material capsules. In specific implementation, the auxiliary material capsules may include any one or more of the following: flavor capsule, extract capsule, nicotine capsule, nicotine salt capsule, etc. In some embodiments, multiple components may also be mixed together and placed in the auxiliary material capsules, which is not limited by the present disclosure.

[0057] In some embodiments, the volume ratio of the auxiliary material capsules to the aerosol generating capsules 104 in the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 may be 10: 1-1:10, which can better meet personalized needs of different smokers for suction taste.

[0058] In some embodiments, the material of the shell, particle size and shape of the auxiliary material capsules may be the same or different from the material of the shell, particle size and shape of the aerosol generating capsules 104, which is not limited by the present disclosure. In addition, the distribution of the auxiliary material capsules and the aerosol generating capsules 104 in the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 may be uniform or non-uniform, which is not limited by the present disclosure.

[0059] As shown in FIG. 1, in some embodiments, a seal 105 may also be provided at one end of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 near one end of the aerosol generating article 10. In addition, the aerosol generating article 10 may also include a limiting part 102 and / or a filter segment 103.

[0060] In some embodiments, the limiting part 102 is adjacent to one end of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 away from the end of the aerosol generating article 10, and the filter segment 103 can be adjacent to or spaced a certain distance from the limiting part 102.

[0061] In other embodiments, the limiting part 102 or the filter segment 103 may not be provided. For example, the filter segment 103 may be directly adjacent to the end of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 away from the end of the aerosol generating article 10.In this structural design, the filter segment 103 not only filters the smoke but also seals the aerosol generating capsules 104 to prevent leakage.

[0062] In some embodiments, as shown in FIG. 1, the seal 105 may be an acetate fiber rod or a cotton rod sealed at the end of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 near the end of the aerosol generating article 10.

[0063] In some embodiments, the seal 105 may also be a paper, a non-woven fabric, a fabric, or a thermally conductive material, etc., which can be directly adhered to one end surface of the aerosol generating substrate segment 101. The thermally conductive material, such as metal foil, can increase thermal conductivity and reduce waiting time for heating during suction. Except for specific embodiments, the seal is generally permeable or has permeable holes to ensure that air can enter the aerosol generating article.

[0064] In some embodiments, the limiting part 102 may be a prefabricated component with a through hole, or a structural component such as a rolled sheet member. The material of the limiting part may include, but is not limited to, any one of the following: plant fiber, resin, metal, etc. On the one hand, the through hole can reduce the draw resistance, and on the other hand, the through hole can also prevent the aerosol generating capsules 104 from passing through. The material of the rolled sheet member may include, but is not limited to, any one of the following: paper, resin sheet (such as polylactic acid sheet) and metal sheet.

[0065] The limiting part 102 can not only limit the aerosol generating capsules 104, but also prevent the aerosol generating capsules 104 from falling off from the aerosol generating substrate segment 101. If necessary, the limiting part 102 can also have a cooling effect on the smoke to avoid excessive temperature of the smoke.

[0066] In some embodiments, the filter segment 103 may include one or more filter members. Various filter members can be sequentially connected along an axial or radial direction of the filter segment. The filter members may be a solid, hollow, or porous filter rod, which is not limited by the present disclosure. The filter rod may be formed by processing one or more fibers.

[0067] In some embodiments, the aerosol generating substrate segment 101, the limiting part 102 and the filter segment 103 may be packaged in a same tube, and the material of the tube may be paper or the like.

[0068] The length of the tube may be designed to be 30 mm-84 mm, such as 40 mm, 60 mm, 80 mm, etc. The diameter of the tube may be designed to be 3.0 mm-10.0 mm, such as 5.0 mm, 7.0 mm, 9.0 mm, etc.

[0069] In some embodiments, a thermally conductive layer may also be provided on an inner surface of the tube corresponding to the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 to increase thermal conductivity and reduce heating waiting time during suction.

[0070] In some embodiments, in order to facilitate production and improve flame retardant effect, the thermally conductive layer may also be provided on the entire surface of the tube.

[0071] The thermally conductive layer may be formed of materials such as aluminum foil, which not only provides thermal conductivity but also has flame retardant properties.

[0072] The aerosol generating article according to the embodiments of the present disclosure has strong universality and can be adapted to various heating devices, such as needle heating devices, plate ceramic heating devices, air heating devices or microwave heating devices.

[0073] In some embodiments, a susceptor may also be installed in the aerosol generating substrate segment 101 to adapt to electromagnetic induction heating devices.

[0074] The aerosol generating capsule according to the embodiments of the present disclosure can be prepared by various methods, such as, the following method, and the like.

[0075] The first step is to prepare the core material by stirring the mixture evenly to form an emulsion at 60℃. To ensure the formation of a uniform emulsion, it should be required that any component of the core material is soluble in the oil phase or the aqueous phase at 60℃. The second step is to prepare the shell liquid. Then, the core material is encapsulated within the shell liquid to prepare the capsule.

[0076] The preparation steps of the capsule in one embodiment of the present invention include:

[0077] 40 weight parts of sunflower seed oil is heated to 100℃, and then, 7.1 weight parts of ethyl cellulose, 1.4 weight parts of beeswax, and 2.1 weight parts of palm wax are added therein while stirring, dissolved, and mixed well. Thereafter, the mixture is cooled to 60℃, and 24 weight parts of propylene glycol, 16 weight parts of glycerol, 2.4 weight parts of surfactant (prepared by Tween 80 and glycerol monooleate in a weight ratio of 1: 9) , 5 weight parts of mango flavor, and 2 weight parts of nicotine salt are added therein and stirred well, to complete preparation of the core material.

[0078] 5 weight parts of carrageenan and 3 weight parts of gellan gum are put into 82 weight parts of purified water, and heated at a temperature of 60℃ to 90℃ while stirring, to form a uniform solution. And then, 10 weight parts of glycerol is added and stirred well, to prepare a shell liquid.

[0079] The core material (inner layer) and the shell liquid are dropped into a liquid coolant (Medium-Chain Triglycerides, MCT) through a concentric dropper at a temperature controlled at 10℃ to 25℃, to form a wet capsule. Then, the wet capsule is stored at -10℃ to 10℃ for 10 hours, and dried at 20℃ to 30℃ and 20%to 50%humidity, to prepare a capsule article with a particle size of 2 mm and a shell thickness of 70 μm.

[0080] When preparing the aerosol generating article according to the embodiments of the present disclosure, different tastes and suction effects can be produced by adjusting parameters such as the length of the aerosol generating substrate segment, the void volume fraction and particle size of the aerosol generating capsules to meet the needs and experiences of different smokers.

[0081] To further verify the smoking experience, different heating devices are used at different heating temperatures to compare smoke amount and sensory evaluation. The specific tests are as follows:

[0082] The length of the aerosol generating article is 45 mm, the length of the aerosol generating substrate segment is 10 mm, the particle size of the aerosol generating capsule is 1.5 mm-2 mm, and the filling height ratio is 80%. The filling height ratio refers to the ratio of the loose packing height of the stacked aerosol generating capsules to the length of the aerosol generating substrate segment when the aerosol generating article is placed in a vertical direction.

[0083] According to above sample parameters, samples are heated and tested using an air heating device and a center heating device at different temperatures. The test results are shown in Table 1 below:

[0084] Table 1

[0085] Score description: regarding smoke amount, aroma quality, stability, satisfaction, aftertaste and oral residue, the best score is 10 points, and the worst score is 0 points.

[0086] From above test result, it can be seen that using the aerosol generating capsules can heat and release smoke at lower temperatures and provide a good suction experience.

[0087] Although the present disclosure has been disclosed above, the present disclosure is not limited thereto. Any changes and modifications may be made by those skilled in the art without departing from the spirit and scope of the present disclosure, and the scope of the present disclosure should be determined by the appended claims.
