Warehousing system and storage and retrieval method

Abstract

Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a warehousing system and a storage and retrieval method. The warehousing system is provided with a first robot for picking and placing totes between a tote storage layer and a tote temporary storage layer, and a second robot for transporting totes between a work station and the tote temporary storage layer of a temporary storage rack; the first robot and the second robot cooperate with one another in a relay manner to implement storage and retrieval of totes in the warehousing system, thereby improving the pick-and-place efficiency of the warehousing system. In addition, the second robot implements picking and placing of totes by means of the horizontal movement of a pick-and-place mechanism relative to the tote temporary storage layer, such that the height of the tote temporary storage layer from the ground is configured to be slightly higher than the height of a goods-bearing platform, i.e. the tote temporary storage layer is configured to be lower so that more tote storage layers can be provided and the storage capacity of a rack is improved.
