Abstract

A shaving razor and shaving brush stand with adjustable prongs is disclosed. The stand includes a base, a vertical post extending upward from the base, and a holder mounted to the upper end of the post. The holder comprises a fixed element and an adjustable element. The fixed element includes razor prongs and a fixed brush prong, while the adjustable element includes an adjustable brush prong configured to rotate about the vertical post. Rotation of the adjustable element adjusts the distance between the brush prongs to accommodate shaving brushes of varying sizes.

[0003] Shaving razor stands are grooming accessories designed to hold and organize razors when not in use. The stands typically feature a weighted or non-slip base and a vertical post with a holder that securely supports the razor by its handle. Razor stands help keep the blade dry and clean when not in use, thus extending the life of the razor. Further, razor stands contribute to a tidy bathroom and / or shaving set up.

[0004] Many shaving razor stands also include a holder or slot for additional shaving accessories or grooming tools, such as a shaving brush. Like the holder for supporting the razor, the holder for the brush securely supports the brush by its handle and helps keep the brush dry and clean when not in use.

[0005] Conventional razor stands are typically designed to accommodate a specific razor or brush and often vary in size depending on the manufacturer or model. These stands are usually equipped with a holder formed as a single, rigid unit with opposing prongs. One set of prongs is spaced at a fixed distance to hold a razor, while the opposing set is spaced at a different fixed distance to hold a particular type of shaving brush. As a result, existing stands lack compatibility with the wide variety of brushes available on the market. Consumers are frequently limited to selecting a matching brush and stand from the same manufacturer.

[0006] Although most razors, including cartridge and safety razors, are relatively uniform in size, significant variation exists among shaving brushes, which differ in dimensions across brands and models. This lack of standardization presents a challenge for users, as current stands offer no flexibility to accommodate different brush sizes. [0007] In light of the foregoing, there is a need for a shaving razor and brush stand with adjustable prongs capable of accommodating shaving brushes of varying sizes.

[0031] The present invention is directed to, in general, a shaving razor and shaving brush stand and, in particular, a shaving razor and shaving brush stand with adjustable prongs to accommodate shaving brushes of varying sizes. Certain preferred and non-limiting aspects of the components of the shaving razor and shaving brush stand with adjustable prongs are illustrated in Figs. 1-7.

[0032] With reference to FIG. 1, the shaving razor and shaving brush stand 1 with adjustable prongs is shown according to some non-limiting aspects and embodiments. The stand 1 may include a base 2, a vertical post 3, a holding member 4, and a locking member 8. The base 2 may be shaped to provide stability to the stand 1 when placed on a surface. For example, the base 2 may be circular, square, or oval shaped with a flat bottom surface. In some embodiments, the base 2 may also be weighted to enhance balance and prevent tipping. The vertical post 3 may be connected to the base 2, extending upward from the base 2. The vertical post 3 may have a length greater than that of a standard shaving razor handle. In some non-limiting embodiments, the vertical post 3 may include threaded screws at both its top and bottom ends. The base 2 may include a threaded recess configured to receive the bottom screw of the vertical post 2, allowing the post 2 to be securely tightened into the base 2. The holding member 4 may include a recess through which the top screw of the vertical post 2 extends. The locking member 8 may include a threaded recess configured to receive the top screw of the vertical post 2, allowing the locking member 8 to be tightened and thereby secure the holding member 4 to the vertical post 3.

[0033] With continued reference to FIG. 1, the holding member 4 may include a fixed element 5 and an adjustable element 6. As shown in FIG. 2, the fixed element 5 may include at least two razor prongs 9 extending from one end of the fixed element 5 and a fixed brush prong 10 extending from an end of the fixed element 5 opposite of prongs 9. The prongs 9 may include notches 7 to accommodate holding a razor blade (e.g. safety razor, cartridge razor, and the like). For example, a shaft of the razor blade may may extend below the prongs 9 and a head of the razor blade may rest in the notches 7. The fixed element 5 may include a recess through which the top screw of the vertical post 3 extends, thereby securing the fixed element 5 to the vertical post 3. As shown in FIG. 3, the adjustable element 6 may include an adjustable brush prong 11. The adjustable element 6 may also include a recess through which the top screw of the vertical post 3 extends, thereby securing the adjustable element 6 to the vertical post. Together the fixed element 5 and the adjustable element 6 form the holding member 4 when both the fixed element 5 and adjustable element 6 are secured to the vertical post 3.

[0034] With reference now to Fig. 4, shown is an exploded view of the components of stand 1, illustrating how each component connects to the others. While the components have been disclosed as connecting via threaded screws and recesses, any suitable means of connection is contemplated. For example, the components may alternatively be connected using press-fit joints, snap-fit mechanisms, adhesives, magnetic couplings, and / or the like.

[0035] With reference now to FIG. 5, a top view of the holding member 4 is shown, which is formed by a fixed element 5 and an adjustable element 6 and affixed to the stand 1 via locking member 8 according to some non-limiting embodiments and aspects. The fixed brush prong 10 of the fixed element 5 and the adjustable brush prong 11 of the adjustable element 6 together form a brush prong assembly 12 configured to hold the handle of a shaving brush. The adjustable element 6 may rotate about the vertical post 3, allowing the distance between the fixed brush prong 10 and the adjustable brush prong 11 to be increased or decreased. For example, rotating the adjustable element 6 toward the fixed brush prong 10 brings the566C3107. DOCXAttorney Docket No. 10722-2504229 adjustable brush prong 11 closer to the fixed brush prong 10, thereby narrowing the space between them. Conversely, rotating the adjustable element 6 away from the fixed brush prong 10 increases the distance between the prongs 10 and 11. This adjustability allows the stand to accommodate shaving brush handles of varying widths. It is contemplated that only the adjustable element 6 is rotatable about the vertical post 3, while the fixed element 5, including the razor prongs 9, remains stationary relative to the post. This limited rotation ensures that the razor prongs 9 consistently remain positioned opposite the brush prong assembly 12, regardless of the width adjustment of the brush prongs.

[0036] With reference now to FIGS. 6 and 7, top views of the holding member 4 are shown according to some non-limiting embodiments and aspects. As shown in FIG. 6, the adjustable element 6 has been rotated about the vertical post 3 toward the fixed brush prong 10, thereby reducing the distance between the fixed brush prong 10 and the adjustable brush prong 11. In contrast, as shown in FIG. 7, the adjustable element 6 has been rotated about the vertical post 3 away from the fixed brush prong 10, thereby increasing the distance between the adjustable fixed brush prong 10 and the adjustable brush prong 11. The embodiment shown in FIG. 6 may accommodate a shaving brush handle with a narrower width compared to the handle that the embodiment in FIG. 7 is capable of accommodating. In some non-limiting embodiments and aspects, the adjustable element 6 may be rotatable within a predefined angular range, thus limiting the minimum and / or maximum distance between the fixed brush prong 10 and the adjustable brush prong 11.

[0037] With reference now to FIGS. 8 and 9, shown is the shaving razor and shaving brush stand 1 in the use position according to some non-limiting embodiments and aspects.
