Provided is a binding machine capable of more stably forming a spiral shape through use of a relatively simple structure. This binding machine comprises: a driver that is configured to be capable of moving in a first direction and a second direction opposite from the first direction; and a clincher part that deforms a leg part of a staple, which moves in the first direction due to being pressed by the driver moving in the first direction, into a spiral shape by causing the leg part to abut on an inner peripheral surface. The clincher part has a guide part that is provided on the inner peripheral surface and promotes deformation of the leg part. The width of the guide part is less than the height of the staple.
