Abstract

A rotor assembly is described. The rotor assembly comprises a shaft having a first portion, a second portion, and a third portion. The second portion is located intermediate the first portion and the third portion. A magnet assembly, comprising a permanent magnet, is mounted to the first portion of the shaft. A bearing assembly, comprising a first bearing and a second bearing, is mounted to the second portion of the shaft. An impeller is mounted to the third portion of the shaft. The first portion of the shaft has a first diameter and the second portion of the shaft has a second diameter. The second diameter larger than the first diameter. An electric motor comprising the rotor assembly, and a domestic appliance comprising the electric motor are also described.
