Abstract
Claims
1. A light detection device comprising an optical layer and a first pixel having a photoelectric conversion element that converts light incident through the optical layer into photoelectric light, wherein the first pixel has a columnar structure provided on the optical layer, and the structure has a square or nearly square shape in a plan view.
2. The photodetector according to claim 1, further comprising a second pixel and a third pixel, each having the structure and the photoelectric conversion element, wherein the photoelectric conversion element of the first pixel receives light in a first wavelength range, the photoelectric conversion element of the second pixel receives light in a second wavelength range, and the photoelectric conversion element of the third pixel receives light in a third wavelength range.
3. The light detection device according to claim 2, wherein one of the structures is provided for the first pixel, one of the structures is provided for the second pixel, and one of the structures is provided for the third pixel.
4. The photodetector according to claim 2, wherein the optical layer has a first region provided corresponding to the first pixel, and the optical layer guides light in the second wavelength range incident on the first region to the photoelectric conversion element of the second pixel, and guides light in the third wavelength range incident on the first region to the photoelectric conversion element of the third pixel.
5. The photodetector according to claim 2, wherein the photoelectric conversion element of the first pixel receives light in the green wavelength range as light in the first wavelength range, the photoelectric conversion element of the second pixel receives light in the red wavelength range as light in the second wavelength range, and the photoelectric conversion element of the third pixel receives light in the blue wavelength range as light in the third wavelength range.
6. The light detection device according to claim 1, wherein the structure has a rectangular or substantially rectangular shape in a plan view, and the ratio of the length of the long side to the length of the short side of the structure is 1.0 or more and 1.2 or less.
7. The light detection device according to claim 1, wherein the structure has a rectangular, substantially rectangular, parallelogram shape, or substantially parallelogram shape in a plan view, and the angle between two adjacent sides of the structure is 70° or more and 110° or less.
8. The light detection device according to claim 1, wherein the structure has a shape in which the four corners of a rectangle are missing.
9. The light detection device according to claim 8, wherein the ratio of the area of the four corners to the area of the quadrilateral is 20% or less.
10. The light detection device according to claim 1, comprising a plurality of pixels including the first pixel and arranged in a first direction, wherein the structure has a square shape when rotated by an angle of 35° to 55° with respect to the first direction, or a shape close to a square when rotated by an angle of 35° to 55° with respect to the first direction.
11. The light detection device according to claim 1, wherein the structure has a rhomboid shape or a substantially rhomboid shape in a plan view.
12. The optical layer comprises a first layer and a second layer, the first layer is provided between the second layer and the photoelectric conversion element, and the structure of the first pixel comprises a first portion provided on the first layer and a second portion provided on the second layer, the light detection device according to claim 1.
13. The light detection device according to claim 12, wherein the first part has a square or near-square shape in a plan view, and the second part has a square shape when rotated at an angle of 35° to 55° with respect to a first direction perpendicular to the stacking direction of the first layer and the second layer, or a near-square shape when rotated at an angle of 35° to 55° with respect to the first direction.
14. The light detection device according to claim 12, wherein the first part has a square or nearly square shape in a plan view, and the second part has a rhomboid or substantially rhomboid shape in a plan view.
15. The photodetector according to claim 12, further comprising a second pixel having the photoelectric conversion element, wherein the second pixel has the structure including a third portion provided in the first layer and a fourth portion provided in the second layer.
16. The light detection device according to claim 15, wherein the third and fourth parts each have a square or nearly square shape in a plan view.
17. The light detection device according to claim 1, wherein one structure is provided for a plurality of first pixels.
18. The photodetector according to claim 1, wherein the first pixel has a filter provided between the optical layer and the photoelectric conversion element.
19. The optical detection device according to claim 1, wherein the optical layer has a member provided around the structure, and the structure has a refractive index different from that of the member.
20. An electronic device comprising an optical system and a light detection device for receiving light transmitted through the optical system, wherein the light detection device has an optical layer and a first pixel having a photoelectric conversion element for photoelectric conversion of light incident through the optical layer, the first pixel having a columnar structure provided on the optical layer, and the structure having a square or nearly square shape in a plan view.
