Abstract

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to devices and methods of communication. In one aspect, a terminal device may determine one or more monitoring results associated with one or more model inferences. Based on the one or more monitoring results, the terminal device may perform an operation comprising at least one of: modifying at least one of PW or OW associated with a model inference; managing a first measurement report triggered by an event; or managing a second measurement report with a periodicity. In this way, AI efficiency may be improved, and unnecessary measurement report may be avoided.

Description

DEVICES AND METHODS OF COMMUNICATIONTECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] Embodiments of the present disclosure generally relate to the field of telecommunication, and in particular, to devices, methods and computer storage media of communication for artificial intelligence (AI) mobility management.BACKGROUND

[0002] Currently, simulation for AI mobility is being highly concerned. An aspect of a prediction window (PW) and an observation window (OW) is introduced, which means user equipment (UE) needs to perform real measurements during the OW and predict measurement results during the PW. However, a fixed PW / OW configuration may not ensure good performance of AI inference.

[0003] Further, a purpose of performing AI inference for measurement prediction is to optimize radio resource management (RRM) measurement management, e.g., event evaluation, or periodical measurement report. However, implementations of RRM measurement management are still incomplete and need to be further developed.SUMMARY

[0044] In some examples, values, procedures, or apparatus are referred to as ‘best, ’ ‘lowest, ’ ‘highest, ’ ‘minimum, ’ ‘maximum, ’ or the like. It will be appreciated that such descriptions are intended to indicate that a selection among many used functional alternatives can be made, and such selections need not be better, smaller, higher, or otherwise preferable to other selections.

[0045] In the context of the present disclosure, the term ‘real measurement result’ herein may refer to a measurement result derived by an actual measurement, and may be interchangeably used with ‘historical measurement result’ or ‘historical result’ . The term ‘predicted measurement result’ herein may refer to a measurement result derived by a prediction of AI inference, and may be interchangeably used with ‘prediction result’ . The term ‘real measurement result’ or ‘predicted measurement result’ herein may refer to any suitable measurement metrics, such as reference signal received power (RSRP) , reference signal received quality (RSRQ) , or signal-to-interference-plus-noise ratio (SINR) .

[0046] In the context of the present disclosure, the term ‘AI’ may be interchangeably used with ‘ML’ or ‘AI / ML’ . The term ‘AI inference’ may refer to an AI model performs a model inference, and may be interchangeably used with ‘AI model inference’ . The term ‘model input’ may indicate a set of actual measurement results within an OW. The term ‘model output’ may indicate a set of prediction measurement results within a PW.

[0047] Generally, when an AI model is performing a model inference, model performance is not always precise, e.g., a scenario changes due to mobility. In this case, a fixed PW / OW configuration may not ensure good performance on AI inference.

[0048] Furthermore, implementations of RRM measurement management are still incomplete. For example, whether or how UE evaluates an event, and whether or how UE initiates a measurement report need to be further studied.

[0049] In view of the above, embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions of communication so as to overcome the above and other potential issues. In one aspect, a terminal device may determine one or more monitoring results associated with one or more model inferences, and perform an operation based on the one or more monitoring results. The operation may comprise at least one of the following: modifying at least one of a prediction window or an observation window associated with a model inference, managing a first measurement report triggered by an event, or managing a second measurement report with a periodicity. In this way, with modification of PW / OW, AI efficiency may be improved. Further, with management of a measurement report, unnecessary measurement report may be avoided. In addition, AI mobility management may be enhanced.

[0050] In another aspect, a network device may transmit, to a terminal device, a configuration for at least one of a prediction window or an observation window associated with a model inference, the configuration indicating at least one of the following: a size range or list for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window; or a set of modified sizes for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window, the set of modified sizes being associated with a set of monitoring result ranges. In this way, modification of PW / OW may be facilitated, and AI efficiency may be improved.

[0051] In another aspect, a terminal device may receive, from a network device, a configuration of a model inference with a first periodicity and a configuration of a second measurement report with a second periodicity, the second periodicity of the second measurement report being smaller than the first periodicity of the model inference. In accordance with a determination that no predicted measurement results are updated upon initiation of the second measurement report, the terminal device may manage the second measurement report by one of the following: cancelling the second measurement report, or initiating the second measurement report comprising one or more real measurement results measured after a previous model inference or a latest real measurement result in the one or more real measurement results. In this way, management of a periodical measurement report may be carried out, and unnecessary measurement report may be avoided.

[0052] Principles and implementations of the present disclosure will be described in detail below with reference to the figures.EXAMPLE OF COMMUNICATION NETWORK

[0053] FIG. 1 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example communication network 100 in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG. 1, the communication network 100 may include a terminal device 110 and a network device 120. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may provide one or more serving cells (not shown) to serve the terminal device 110.

[0054] The terminal device 110 may have a plurality of beams (not shown) , and the network device 120 may have a plurality of beams (not shown) . A channel (or called as a sub-channel in this case) may be formed between one of the plurality of beams of the terminal device 110 and one of the plurality of beams of the network device 120. The terminal device 110 may transmit information to the network device 120 or receive information from the network device 120 via one or more sub-channels.

[0055] It is to be understood that the number of devices in FIG. 1 is given for the purpose of illustration without suggesting any limitations to the present disclosure. The communication network 100 may include any suitable number of network devices and / or terminal devices and / or other network elements adapted for implementing implementations of the present disclosure.

[0056] As shown in FIG. 1, the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 may communicate with each other via a channel such as a wireless communication channel. The communications in the communication network 100 may conform to any suitable standards including, but not limited to, global system for mobile communications (GSM) , long term evolution (LTE) , LTE-evolution, LTE-advanced (LTE-A) , new radio (NR) , wideband code division multiple access (WCDMA) , code division multiple access (CDMA) , GSM EDGE radio access network (GERAN) , machine type communication (MTC) and the like. The embodiments of the present disclosure may be performed according to any generation communication protocols either currently known or to be developed in the future. Examples of the communication protocols include, but not limited to, the first generation (1G) , the second generation (2G) , 2.5G, 2.75G, the third generation (3G) , the fourth generation (4G) , 4.5G, the fifth generation (5G) communication protocols, 5.5G, 5G-advanced networks, or the sixth generation (6G) networks.

[0057] FIG. 2 illustrates a schematic diagram 200 of an AI common framework in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. As shown in FIG. 2, training data, monitoring data, testing data or inference data may be obtained through an entity of data collection 210.

[0058] With reference to FIG. 2, the training data may be used for model training by an entity of model training 220. An AI model may be trained or updated through the model training. The trained or updated AI model may be stored by an entity of model storage 230.

[0059] With reference to FIG. 2, the monitoring data or testing data may be used for model management by an entity of model management 240. The model management may comprise model monitoring, model testing, model selection, model activation, model deactivation, model switching, and / or model fallback. The entity of model management 240 may send performance feedback or retraining request to the entity of model training 220 for model retraining. The entity of model management 240 may send model transfer or delivery request to the entity of model storage 230, and the entity of model storage 230 may transfer or delivery the stored AI model to an entity of model inference 250.

[0060] As shown in FIG. 2, the inference data may be used for model inference by the entity of model inference 250. With the inference data as an input of the AI model, an output data set may be obtained by the model inference. The entity of model inference 250 may provide a monitoring or testing output to the entity of model management 240 and receive an indication of model selection / activation / deactivation / switching / fallback from the entity of model management 240.

[0061] So far, life cycle management (LCM) of an AI model is described with reference to FIG. 2. It is to be understood that although the entities 210 to 250 are shown or described as separate entities in FIG. 2, these entities 210-250 may be implemented in one or more physical entities.

[0062] FIG. 3 illustrates a schematic diagram of an example RRM measurement prediction 300 in which some embodiments of the present disclosure can be implemented. The RRC measurement prediction 300 is an example of intra-frequency temporal domain case A. As shown in FIG. 3, in the RRC measurement prediction 300, continuous measurement result (s) in a PW 310 are predicted by continuous real (i.e., historical) measurement result (s) in an OW 320. Then the OW 320 and the PW 310 slide forward with either sampling period (s) (with sliding layer 1 (L1)  / layer 3 (L3) filtering option) or measurement period (s) (with non-sliding L1 / L3 filtering option) , where measurement result (s) are actually measured before sliding.

[0063] It has been agreed that increasing an OW length can enhance prediction accuracy in the intra-frequency temporal domain case A. Conversely, for PW, longer durations correlate with decreased prediction accuracy. In addition, for the intra-frequency temporal domain case A, AI can provide gains compared to sample and hold.

[0064] Embodiments of the present disclosure provide solutions of communication so as to enhance AI inference and RRM measurement management. For illustration, the solutions will be detailed below with reference to FIGs. 4 to 9.EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT BASED ON MONITORING RESULT

[0065] FIG. 4 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 400 of communication in accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 400 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 400 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 4 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added. It is assumed that one or more AI models are deployed at the terminal device 110. The terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0066] As shown in FIG. 4, at step 410, the terminal device 110 may determine one or more monitoring results associated with one or more model inferences. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a set of comparison results associated with a monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results, and determine the monitoring result based on the set of comparison results.

[0067] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of comparison results based on a comparison between a real measurement result and a predicted measurement result associated with the same time instance. FIG. 5A illustrates a schematic diagram 500A of an example determination of comparison and monitoring results in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in in FIG. 5A, a previous model inference 501 and a current model inference 502 are shown. As shown by a reference sign 510, the terminal device 110 may determine two pairs of real measurement results used in the current model inference 502 and predicted measurement results of the previous model inference 501 which are associated with the same time instance. The terminal device 110 may determine a comparison result based on a comparison between a real measurement result and a predicted measurement result in each pair, and thus obtain two comparison results.

[0068] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of comparison results based on a comparison between predicted measurement results associated with the same time instance. With reference to FIG. 5A, as shown by a reference sign 520, the terminal device 110 may determine two pairs of predicted measurement results of the current model inference 502 and predicted measurement results of the previous model inference 501 which are associated with the same time instance. The terminal device 110 may determine a comparison result based on a comparison between predicted measurement results in each pair, and thus obtain two comparison results.

[0069] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the set of comparison results based on a comparison between a real measurement result and a predicted measurement result associated with the same time instance and a comparison between predicted measurement results associated with the same time instance. With reference to FIG. 5A, the terminal device 110 may determine the two pairs of real measurement results of the current model inference 502 and predicted measurement results of the previous model inference 501 as shown by the reference sign 510, and the two pairs of predicted measurement results of the current model inference 502 and predicted measurement results of the previous model inference 501 as shown by the reference sign 520. Then the terminal device 110 may obtain the fourth comparison results.

[0070] It is to be noted that number of measurement result pairs and number of comparison results in FIG. 5A are not limited to the above examples, and more or less number may also be feasible.

[0071] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on an average of comparison results in the set of comparison results. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on a variance of comparison results in the set of comparison results.

[0072] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on a weighted average of comparison results in the set of comparison results. For example, the weighted average is for the comparison between the real measurement result and the predicted measurement result. With still reference to FIG. 5A, a high weight may be assigned for a comparison result 511, and a low weight may be assigned for a comparison result 512. This may be helpful for the case that model prediction performance may become worse with time passing within one inference.

[0073] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on a slope of comparison results in the set of comparison results. For example, the terminal device 110 may consider the slope of all comparison results for the comparison between the real measurement result and the predicted measurement result. This may be also helpful for the case that model prediction performance may become worse with time passing within one inference.

[0074] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on one of the set of comparison results. That is, the terminal device may determine the monitoring result by only considering any one in the set of comparison results. For example, the terminal device may determine the monitoring result by only considering the last one in the set of comparison results.

[0075] It is to be noted that any combinations of the above means for determining the monitoring results may also be feasible.

[0076] In some embodiments, the comparison and / or monitoring result may be RSRP difference between measurement results (e.g., between the real and predicted measurement results and / or between the predicted measurement results) . It is to be noted that RSRQ difference or SINR difference may also be feasible.

[0077] In some embodiments, the comparison and / or monitoring result may be prediction accuracy. In some embodiments, the prediction accuracy may be determined based on equation (1) below. PA = 1 -|Rp –Rr|  / Rr                (1) where PA denotes prediction accuracy, Rp denotes a predicted measurement result, and Rr  denotes a real measurement result.

[0078] Alternatively, the prediction accuracy may be determined based on equation (2) below. PA = 1 -|Rp –Rr|  / Rp                (2) where PA denotes prediction accuracy, Rp denotes a predicted measurement result, and Rr  denotes a real measurement result.

[0079] It is to be noted that ‘RSRP difference is large’ is equivalent to ‘prediction accuracy is low’ , and ‘RSRP difference is small’ is equivalent to ‘prediction accuracy is high’ . It is also to be noted that the comparison and / or monitoring result may be represented by any other suitable metrics, and the present disclosure does not limit this aspect.

[0080] Based on the one or more monitoring results associated with the one or more model inferences, the terminal device 110 may perform an operation for AI inference management and / or RRM measurement management.

[0081] As shown in step 420, the terminal device 110 may modify at least one of PW or OW associated with a model inference (e.g., a next model inference) based on the one or more monitoring results.

[0082] In some embodiments, if the one or more monitoring results are better than or equal to a threshold result, the terminal device 110 may perform an operation (for convenience, also referred to as a first operation herein) for modifying PW and / or OW.

[0083] In some embodiments where each of the one or more monitoring results is RSRP difference and the threshold result is a threshold difference, if each RSRP difference is smaller than or equal to the threshold difference, the terminal device 110 may determine that the one or more monitoring results are better than or equal to the threshold result.

[0084] In some embodiments where each of the one or more monitoring results is prediction accuracy and the threshold result is threshold accuracy, if each prediction accuracy is greater than or equal to the threshold accuracy, the terminal device 110 may determine that the one or more monitoring results are better than or equal to the threshold result.

[0085] In some embodiments, the first operation may comprise lengthening the PW. In some embodiments, the first operation may comprise shortening the OW. In some embodiments, the first operation may comprise lengthening the PW and shortening the OW.

[0086] In some embodiments, if the one or more monitoring results are worse than or equal to the threshold result, the terminal device 110 may perform a further operation (also referred to as a second operation herein) for modifying PW and / or OW.

[0087] In some embodiments where each of the one or more monitoring results is RSRP difference and the threshold result is a threshold difference, if each RSRP difference is greater than or equal to the threshold difference, the terminal device 110 may determine that the one or more monitoring results are worse than or equal to the threshold result.

[0088] In some embodiments where each of the one or more monitoring results is prediction accuracy and the threshold result is threshold accuracy, if each prediction accuracy is smaller than or equal to the threshold accuracy, the terminal device 110 may determine that the one or more monitoring results are worse than or equal to the threshold result.

[0089] In some embodiments, the second operation may comprise lengthening the OW. In some embodiments, the second operation may comprise shortening the PW. In some embodiments, the second operation may comprise lengthening the OW and shortening the PW.

[0090] In some embodiments, as shown in step 421, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for at least one of PW or OW. As shown in step 422, the terminal device 110 may perform the first or second operation based on the configuration.

[0091] In some embodiments, the configuration for at least one of PW or OW may indicate a size range for the at least one of the PW or OW. For example, the size range may consist of an upper bound and a lower bound, e.g., 400ms-800ms or 2-4 input / output time instances. In some embodiments, for an initial inference, the terminal device 110 may apply a default value. For example, the default value may be the lower bound (e.g., 400ms or 2 input / output time instances) or upper bound (e.g., 800ms or 4 input / output time instances) .

[0092] In some embodiments, the configuration may indicate a size list for the at least one of the PW or OW. For example, the size list may include one or more size values, e.g., 400ms, 600ms, 800ms, or 2, 3, 4 input / output time instances. In some embodiments, for an initial inference, the terminal device 110 may apply a default value. For example, the default value may be the lowest size value (e.g., 400ms or 2 input / output time instances) or the highest size value (e.g., 800ms or 4 input / output time instances) .

[0093] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine, within the size range or list, a modified size for the at least one of the PW or OW. In this way, the PW and / or OW may be lengthened or shortened. That is, the first or second operation may be carried out.

[0094] In some embodiments, the configuration for at least one of PW or OW may indicate a set of modified sizes for the at least one of the PW or OW, and the set of modified sizes is associated with a set of monitoring result ranges. For illustration, an example configuration is shown in Table 1 below. In Table 1, 3 ranges are listed as an example. It is to be noted that Table 1 is merely an example, and does not limit the present disclosure. Table 1

[0095] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may select a monitoring result range from the set of monitoring result ranges based on the one or more monitoring results, and determine a modified size in the set of modified sizes corresponding to the monitoring result range. In this way, the first or second operation may be carried out.

[0096] For example, the terminal device 110 may modify PW / OW value based on one or multiple of calculated monitoring results. For example, once a monitoring result is calculated, a PW / OW value for the next model inference should be modified. For example, if monitoring results are continuously small or large for multiple times, the terminal device 110 may modify the PW / OW value after the multiple times.

[0097] In some embodiments, if the at least one of the PW or OW is modified, the terminal device 110 may transmit information of the one or more monitoring results to the network device 120. With the information of the one or more monitoring results, the network device 120 may determine the modified PW and / or OW similarly. In this way, dynamic modification of PW and / or OW may be achieved and aligned between terminal and network devices.

[0098] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform a further model inference (e.g., the next model inference) by using a set of real measurement results and the one or more monitoring results as model inputs. Based on a model output, the terminal device 110 may obtain a set of predicted measurement results within a modified prediction window. In other words, the previous monitoring result can be used as an AI model input for the next AI inference, and the AI model output dynamically provides predicted measurement result (s) with different PW (but should be within the size range or list configured by the network) .

[0099] FIG. 5B illustrates a schematic diagram 500B of an example PW / OW modification in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown by a reference sign 530 in FIG. 5B, historical results and a large RSRP difference are used as AI model inputs and predicted results within a shortened PW are obtained as AI model output. As shown by a reference sign 540 in FIG. 5B, historical results and a small RSRP difference are used as AI model inputs and predicted results within a lengthened PW are obtained as AI model output.

[0100] As such, dynamic PW modification may be carried out based on implementation of AI inference.

[0101] In some embodiments, the configuration for at least one of PW or OW may indicate one size of PW and / or one size of OW. The network device 120 may re-configure the configuration for at least one of PW or OW based on assistance information from the terminal device 110. Some example embodiments will be described in connection with FIG. 5C below.

[0102] FIG. 5C illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 500C of PW / OW modification in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. The process 500C may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 5C are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added.

[0103] As shown in FIG. 5C, at step 550, the terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, a request for modifying the at least one of the PW or OW. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit the request via a UE assistance information (UAI) message. It is to be noted that any other suitable messages may also be feasible.

[0104] In some embodiments, as shown in step 551, the terminal device 110 may determine whether the one or more monitoring results satisfy a condition (for convenience, also referred to as a first condition herein) for initiating the request. In some embodiments, the first condition may comprise that the one or more monitoring results are worse than a first threshold result, e.g., RSRP difference is greater than or equal to threshold1. In some embodiments, the first condition may comprise that the one or more monitoring results are better than a second threshold result, e.g., RSRP difference is smaller than or equal to threshold2. It is to be noted that the first condition may be based on implementation of the terminal device 110, and any other suitable conditions may also be feasible.

[0105] As shown in step 552, if the one or more monitoring results satisfy the first condition, the terminal device 110 may transmit the request. In some embodiments, the request may comprise a preference on a modified configuration for the at least one of the PW or OW. In some embodiments, the preference on the modified configuration may be associated with the first condition. In other words, each first condition may be linked to one preference on the modified configuration. Alternatively, the first condition may not be linked to a preference on the modified configuration. In this case, what value of the preference on the modified configuration should be included may be up to implementation of the terminal device 110.

[0106] In some embodiments, the request may comprise the one or more monitoring results. It is to be noted that the request may comprise any combinations of the above information and any other suitable information.

[0107] At step 560, the terminal device 110 may receive the modified configuration from the network device 120. In this way, static modification of PW and / or OW may be achieved, and the first or second operation may be carried out.

[0108] So far, a solution of PW / OW modification based on one or more monitoring results is described. With the solution, PW / OW may be properly modified and efficiency of AI inference may be improved.

[0109] Refer back to FIG. 4, as shown in step 430, the terminal device 110 may manage a measurement report triggered by an event (for convenience, also referred to as a first measurement report or event-based measurement report herein) based on the one or more monitoring results. In some embodiments, for the event-based measurement report, the terminal device 110 may determine whether to evaluate the event based on the one or more monitoring results.

[0110] In some embodiments, the one or more monitoring results may comprise a first set of monitoring results for a serving cell prediction and a second set of monitoring results for a neighbor cell prediction. In some embodiments, if the first set of monitoring results and the second set of monitoring results are better than a threshold result, the terminal device 110 may perform an evaluation of future fulfillment of the event. In some embodiments, if at least one of the first set of monitoring results or the second set of monitoring results is worse than the threshold result, the terminal device 110 may skip the evaluation of future fulfillment of the event.

[0111] Some example embodiments will be described by taking event-A3 / A5 as an example below. If the terminal device 110 needs to predict the future fulfillment of the event, the terminal device 110 may need to perform AI inference for both serving cell and neighbor cell. In this case, different cell prediction may have its own monitoring result (e.g., RSRP difference or prediction accuracy) .

[0112] When the event evaluation is involved with both serving cell and neighbor cell (e.g., event-A3 / A5) , the terminal device 110 may determine whether to evaluate the future fulfillment of the event based on the monitoring results.

[0113] After AI inference, only when both the monitoring results corresponding to serving cell prediction and neighbor cell prediction are better than or equal to the threshold result, the terminal device 110 is allowed to evaluate this event for future fulfillment. Otherwise (i.e., any one of the monitoring results is not better than or equal to the threshold result) , the terminal device 110 is not allowed to evaluate this event for future fulfillment.

[0114] In some embodiments, if a monitoring result of a cell is worse than or equal to the threshold result, the terminal device 110 may only evaluate the event based on real measurement.

[0115] FIG. 6A illustrates a schematic diagram 600A of an example event evaluation in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6A, RSRP difference corresponding to serving cell prediction is smaller than a threshold, and RSRP difference corresponding to target cell prediction is greater than a threshold. In this case, the terminal device 110 is not allowed to evaluate the future fulfillment of the event.

[0116] In some embodiments, for the event-based measurement report, the terminal device 110 may determine a mapping relationship between predicted measurement results of a serving cell and a neighbor cell. FIG. 6B illustrates a schematic diagram 600B of another example event evaluation in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown by a reference sign 610 in FIG. 6B, there may be the case that the terminal device 110 is configured with frequency-1 (F1) and frequency-2 (F2) measurement object. Conventionally, only real measurement results are available, and thus a terminal device always uses the latest measured result of serving cell and neighbor cell for event evaluation. In fact, when it comes to intra-frequency with measurement gap (MG) , or inter-frequency scenario, the time instance of measurement on serving cell and neighbor cell is not synchronized. Thus, as shown by a reference sign 620 in FIG. 6B, predicted serving cell results 621 (i.e., predicted measurement results of the serving cell) may be not synchronized with predicted neighbor cell results 622 (i.e., predicted measurement results of the neighbor cell) . In this case, a mapping between the predicted serving cell results 621 and the predicted neighbor cell results 622 may need to be determined.

[0117] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a first predicted measurement result of the serving cell and a second predicted measurement result of the neighbor cell among predicted measurement results of the serving cell and the neighbor cell. Then the terminal device 110 may perform the evaluation of future fulfillment of the event based on the first predicted measurement result of the serving cell and the second predicted measurement result of the neighbor cell.

[0118] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first and second predicted measurement results based on time instance differences among the predicted measurement results of the serving cell and the neighbor cell. For example, for future event fulfillment evaluation, the terminal device 110 may use the predicted serving cell result and predicted neighbor cell result of which the time distance is closest to each other for one evaluation instance, i.e., the predicted serving cell result may compare with the closet predicted neighbor cell result, or the predicted neighbor cell result may compare with the closest predicted serving cell result. It is to be noted that any other suitable ways may also be feasible.

[0119] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the first and second predicted measurement results based on time instance orders among the predicted measurement results of the serving cell and the neighbor cell. For example, for predicted measurement results, the terminal device 110 may always use the “farthest” predicted measurement results of serving cell and neighbor cell for future event fulfillment evaluation, and use the second farthest predicted measurement results of serving cell and neighbor cell for future event fulfillment evaluation, and so on. It is to be noted that any other suitable orders may also be feasible.

[0120] In some embodiments, if the event is predicted to be fulfilled, the terminal device 110 may determine a time instance of fulfillment of the event.

[0121] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on a later one of a first time instance of the first predicted measurement result and a second time instance of the second predicted measurement result. For example, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on the farthest time instance, e.g., time instance of the predicted neighbor cell result 622 in FIG. 6B.

[0122] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on an earlier one of a first time instance of the first predicted measurement result and a second time instance of the second predicted measurement result. For example, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on the most recent time instance, e.g., time instance of the predicted serving cell result 621 in FIG. 6B.

[0123] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on an average of the first time instance and the second time instance. For example, the terminal device 110 may determine the time instance of fulfillment of the event based on average time instance between the farthest time instance and the most recent time instance.

[0124] In some embodiments, for a time instance of lacking either one of predicted serving cell / neighbor cell results, the terminal device 110 may skip future event fulfillment evaluation in this time instance.

[0125] In some embodiments, if the event is predicted to be fulfilled at a future time instance, the terminal device 110 may perform an operation for managing measurement report transmissions. In some embodiments, the operation may comprise initiating the event-based measurement report at a time point earlier than the future time instance by a time offset. In some embodiments, the time offset may be predefined or configured by the network. In some embodiments, the time offset may be determined based on handover (HO) latency, e.g., considering HO preparation time, HO execution time, and / or HO command time.

[0126] Alternatively or additionally, the operation may comprise cancelling all measurement report transmissions (if any) before the time point of initiating the event-based measurement report.

[0127] FIG. 6C illustrates a schematic diagram 600C of an example transmission of a measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6C, with AI inference at a time instance T0, it is predicted that the event will be triggered at a time instance T1. In this case, the terminal device 110 may transmit a measurement report at a time instance T2 earlier than T1 by a time offset. The terminal device 110 may cancel all the measurement reports (e.g., 631 and 632) between T0 and T2.

[0128] So far, a solution of managing the event-based measurement report is described. With the solution, unnecessary event evaluation and measurement report may be avoided.

[0129] Refer back to FIG. 4, as shown in step 440, the terminal device 110 may manage a measurement report with a periodicity (for convenience, also referred to as a second measurement report or periodical measurement report herein) based on the one or more monitoring results. In some embodiments, for the periodical measurement report, the terminal device 110 may consider a relationship between periodicity of the periodical measurement report and periodicity of model inference to generate the periodical measurement report.

[0130] In some embodiments, the periodicity of the periodical measurement report may be greater than a periodicity of the model inference. In this case, every time when the terminal device 110 needs to initiate a transmission of a measurement report, the terminal device 110 has already got multiple sets of predicted measurement results. Which results should be included in the measurement report may need to be specified.

[0131] In some embodiments, if the periodicity of the periodical measurement report is greater than the periodicity of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may determine a first set of real measurement results and a first set of predicted measurement results to be reported so that the first set of real measurement results and the first set of predicted measurement results are associated with the best monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results. In other words, if the periodicity of the periodical measurement report is greater than the periodicity of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may determine to report real and predicted measurement result (s) associated with the best monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results. It is to be noted that the one or more monitoring results are for one or more model inferences before the current measurement report and after a previous measurement report.

[0132] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may generate the periodical measurement report comprising: the first set of real measurement results or the latest real measurement result in the first set of real measurement results; and the first set of predicted measurement results. In some embodiments, if one or more real measurement results corresponding to the first set of predicted measurement results have been measured, the terminal device 110 may replace, with the one or more real measurement results, the first set of predicted measurement results in the periodical measurement report.

[0133] FIG. 6D illustrates a schematic diagram 600D of an example determination of a measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 6D, three model inferences are shown as an example. Measurement period is 200ms, inference period is 400ms, and measurement report (MR) period is 800ms. After a previous MR 650 and before a current MR 651, the model inferences 660 and 670 are performed, and real and predicted measurement results as shown by a reference sign 680 are obtained. It is assumed that RSRP difference of the model inference 660 and RSRP difference of the model inference 670 are greater than a threshold difference, and the RSRP difference of the model inference 660 is smaller than the RSRP difference of the model inference 670.

[0134] In this case, the current MR 651 may include real measurement results 661 and predicted measurement results 662 of the model inference 660 which are after the previous MR 650 and before the current MR 651. As real measurement results 671 corresponding to the predicted measurement results 662 have been obtained, the predicted measurement results 662 may be replaced with the real measurement results 671 in the current MR 651. That is, the current MR 651 may include the real measurement results 661 and the real measurement results 651. Alternatively, the current MR 651 may include the real measurement results 651 and only the latest one among the real measurement results 661.

[0135] In some alternative embodiments, if the periodicity of the periodical measurement report is greater than the periodicity of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may determine a second set of real measurement results and a second set of predicted measurement results to be reported so that the second set of real measurement results and the second set of predicted measurement results are associated with a first monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results. The first monitoring result is associated with a latest model inference with a monitoring result better than a threshold result among the one or more model inferences. In other words, the latest model inference is prioritized.

[0136] For example, once a monitoring result of the latest model inference is better than the threshold result, the terminal device 110 may include results of the latest model inference into MR (without considering the rest model inference (s) ) . Otherwise (i.e., the monitoring result of the latest model inference is worse than the threshold result) , the terminal device 110 may include the rest of inference results of which monitoring results are greater than the threshold result. Which one in the rest of inference results should be selected may be based on a time instance order (e.g., by checking the second latest one model inference, and so on) or implementation of the terminal device 110.

[0137] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may generate the periodical measurement report comprising: the second set of real measurement results or a latest real measurement result in the second set of real measurement results; and the second set of predicted measurement results. In some embodiments, if one or more real measurement results corresponding to the second set of predicted measurement results have been measured, the terminal device 110 may replace, with the one or more real measurement results, the second set of predicted measurement results in the periodical measurement report.

[0138] With still reference to FIG. 6D, it is assumed that RSRP difference of the model inference 660 and RSRP difference of the model inference 670 are greater than a threshold difference. In this case, the current MR 651 may include real measurement results 671 and 672 which are after the previous MR 650 and before the current MR 651. Alternatively, the current MR 651 may include only the latest one among the real measurement results 671 and 672.

[0139] So far, a solution of managing a periodical measurement report based on monitoring result (s) is described. With the solution, unnecessary measurement report transmissions may be avoided, and signaling overhead may be saved.EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT BASED ON PREDICTION RESULT

[0140] Embodiments of the present disclosure also provide a solution of managing a periodical measurement report based on prediction result (s) . This solution will be described in connection with FIG. 7 below.

[0141] FIG. 7 illustrates a signaling chart illustrating an example process 700 of communication in accordance with embodiments of the present disclosure. For the purpose of discussion, the process 700 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. The process 700 may involve the terminal device 110 and the network device 120 as illustrated in FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the steps and the order of the steps in FIG. 7 are merely for illustration, and not for limitation. For example, the order of the steps may be changed. Some of the steps may be omitted or any other suitable additional steps may be added. It is assumed that one or more AI models are deployed at the terminal device 110. The terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0142] As shown in FIG. 7, at step 710, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration of a model inference with a first periodicity and a configuration of a measurement report (may also referred to as a second measurement report herein) with a second periodicity. The second periodicity of the measurement report is smaller than the first periodicity of the model inference.

[0143] At step 720, if no predicted measurement results are updated upon initiation of the measurement report, the terminal device 110 may manage the measurement report.

[0144] In some embodiments, as shown in step 721, the terminal device 110 may cancel the measurement report. In other words, when the measurement report is initiated, if no new inference / prediction results are available, and the latest real measurement results has already been predicted, the terminal device 110 may cancel this time of MR transmission.

[0145] In some embodiments, as shown in step 722, the terminal device 110 may initiate the measurement report which comprises: one or more real measurement results measured after a previous model inference, or a latest real measurement result in the one or more real measurement results. In other words, when the measurement report is initiated, if no new inference / prediction results are available, the terminal device 110 may initiate the measurement report including: 1) all the real measurement results after the previous model inference, or 2) the latest real measurement result.

[0146] In some embodiments, if a difference between one or more predicted measurement results in the previous model inference and the one or more real measurement results is greater than or equal to a threshold, the terminal device 110 may initiate the measurement report comprising the one or more real measurement results after the previous model inference or the latest real measurement result in the one or more real measurement results. In some embodiments, if the difference between the one or more predicted measurement results and the one or more real measurement results is smaller than or equal to the threshold, the terminal device 110 may cancel the second measurement report.

[0147] In other words, when the measurement report is initiated, if no new inference / prediction results are available, the terminal device 110 may compare the previous predicted measurement results with the current real measurement results. If the difference between the previous predicted measurement results and the current real measurement results is large (e.g., larger than or equal to the threshold) , the terminal device 110 may initiate the measurement report including: 1) all the real measurement results after the previous model inference, or 2) the latest real measurement result. Otherwise, if the difference is small (e.g., smaller than or equal to the threshold) , the terminal device 110 may cancel the measurement report.

[0148] FIG. 8 illustrates a schematic diagram 800 of another example determination of a measurement report in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 8, two model inferences 810 and 820 are shown as an example. Measurement period is 200ms, inference period is 800ms, and MR period is 400ms. After a previous MR 830 and before a current MR 831, no new model inferences are performed. In this case, the terminal device 110 may cancel the current MR 831. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may initiate the current MR 831 including: real measurement results 821 after the previous MR 830, or the latest one of the real measurement results 821. Alternatively, the terminal device 110 may compare predicted measurement results 811 and the real measurement results 821. If one or more of the differences between predicted measurement results 811 and the real measurement results 821 are larger than a threshold, the terminal device 110 may initiate the current MR 831 including: real measurement results 821 after the previous MR 830, or the latest one of the real measurement results 821. If the differences are smaller than the threshold, the terminal device 110 may cancel the current MR 831.

[0149] So far, a solution of managing a periodical measurement report based on prediction result (s) is described. With the solution, unnecessary measurement report transmissions may be avoided, and signaling overhead may be saved.EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF MANAGEMENT OF OTHER ASPECTS

[0150] In one aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of storing measurement result (s) . In the solution, a UE variable may be introduced to store historical (i.e., real) measurement results and / or predicted measurement results. For AI mobility, historical measurement results and / or predicted measurement results should be stored for a while, e.g., used for later comparison.

[0151] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may store, in a variable (e.g., denoted as VarStoredMeasurementResults herein) of the terminal device 110, at least one of the following: a list of real measurement results of a cell; or a list of predicted measurement results of the cell. In some embodiments, the cell may be a serving cell. In some embodiments, the cell may be a neighbor cell.

[0152] In some embodiments, a real or predicted measurement result in the list of real or predicted measurement results may be associated with time information. In some embodiments, the time information may comprise a time instance or stamp of the real or predicted measurement result. For example, the variable may include a predicted measurement results list of serving cell or neighbor cell and a real measurement results list of serving cell or neighbor cell. The predicted measurement results list may include each specific predicted measurement result with a corresponding time instance or stamp. The real measurement results list may include each specific real measurement result with a corresponding time instance or stamp.

[0153] In some embodiments, the time instance / stamp may be an absolute time instance / stamp for each result, e.g., universal time coordinated (UTC) timing.

[0154] In some embodiments, the time information may comprise a relative time offset between the time instance of the real or predicted measurement result and a time instance in which the variable is generated or a measurement configuration is applied. In other words, there may be one absolution time instance / stamp corresponding to the time when the variable is generated or measurement configuration is applied, and each result may contain a relative time instance / stamp offset to the absolution time instance / stamp.

[0155] In another aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure provide a solution of managing a model inference. In the solution, if one AI model (e.g., large model) is capable of performing inference for different cell simultaneously, the inference of the AI model may be deactivated or activated per cell or frequency.

[0156] In some embodiments, if a monitoring result for a cell or frequency is worse than a threshold result, the terminal device 110 may deactivate a model inference for the cell or frequency. In other words, when one AI model is performing inference for different cell / frequency simultaneously, once a monitoring result of one cell / frequency is worse than a threshold result, the inference for this cell / frequency may be deactivated, instead of the whole AI model inference is deactivated.

[0157] In some embodiments, the deactivation of the model inference for the cell / frequency may be decided by the terminal device 110. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, information indicating that the model inference for the cell or frequency is deactivated. That is, after the terminal device 110 deactivates the model inference for the cell / frequency, the terminal device 110 may inform the network device 120 of the deactivation.

[0158] In some embodiments, the deactivation of the model inference for the cell / frequency may be decided by the network device 120. In some embodiments, if a monitoring result for a cell or frequency is worse than a threshold result, the terminal device 110 may transmit a request for deactivating a model inference for the cell or frequency to the network device 120. In some embodiments, if an indication of deactivating the model inference for the cell or frequency is received from the network device 120, the terminal device 110 may deactivate the model inference for the cell or frequency. In some embodiments, the network device 120 may, based on network implementation, directly send the indication of deactivating the model inference for the cell or frequency. Upon reception of the indication, the terminal device 110 may deactivate the model inference for the cell / frequency.

[0159] It is to be noted that a specific cell may be indicated by its physical cell identity (PCI) or cell identity. A specific frequency may be indicated by an absolute radio frequency carrier number (ARFCN) value. AI model may be indicated by its functionality ID or model ID.

[0160] In another aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure provide another solution of managing a model inference. In the solution, UE behavior when a periodicity of a measurement is greater than or equal to a periodicity of a model inference may be specified.

[0161] In some embodiments, the periodicity of the measurement may be greater than or equal to the periodicity of the model inference. For example, a terminal device may be performing relaxed measurement (e.g., 400ms) , but the configured inference period (e.g., 200ms) is lower than the measurement period. Then how the terminal device performs the model inference should be specified.

[0162] In some embodiments, if the periodicity of the measurement is greater than or equal to the periodicity of the model inference, and a model input for the model inference is unavailable or unchanged at an occasion of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may skip the model inference at the occasion. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, at least one of the following: information indicating a cause (e.g., denoted as noNewInput here) why the model inference is skipped; or a current measurement period value.

[0163] FIG. 9A illustrates a schematic diagram 900A of an example model inference management in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 9A, measurement period is 400ms, and inference period is 200ms. Upon coming of an inference occasion 910, there is no available or new model input for the inference. In this case, the terminal device 110 may skip the inference occasion 910.

[0164] In some alternative embodiments, if the periodicity of the model inference is configured, the terminal device 110 may skip an update or change for the periodicity of the measurement. In other words, once the terminal device 110 is configured with an inference period, the terminal device 110 may not update / change its measurement requirement / period, including not allowed for measurement relaxation.

[0165] In another aspect, embodiments of the present disclosure provide another solution of managing a model inference. In the solution, a non-redundant prediction indication may be introduced. If the terminal device 110 is configured with the non-redundant prediction indication, the terminal device 110 may perform a model inference based on PW configuration or predicted instance (e.g., prediction occasion) .

[0166] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration indicating a non-redundant prediction. For example, the configuration comprises a non-redundant prediction indication. If a PW is longer than a periodicity of a model inference, the terminal device 110 may perform the model inference until all real measurement results corresponding to the PW are measured.

[0167] FIG. 9B illustrates a schematic diagram 900B of another example model inference management in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. As shown in FIG. 9B, two model inferences 901 and 902 are shown. A PW is longer than an inference period. In this case, redundant prediction 910 will occur. In this case, when the non-redundant prediction indication is configured, the terminal device 110 may not perform AI inference / prediction until all the real measurement results within the PW are performed (or the terminal device 110 may perform AI inference / prediction based on PW configuration  / after the PW elapsed) . In this case, the terminal device 110 may ignore an inference period if the inference period is configured.

[0168] It is to be understood that the above solutions or steps in the solutions as described in connection with FIGs. 4 to 9B may be carried out separately or in any suitable combinations.EXAMPLE IMPLEMENTATION OF METHODS

[0169] Corresponding to the above processes or solutions, embodiments of the present disclosure provide methods of communication implemented at a terminal device and a network device. These methods will be described below with reference to FIGs. 10 to 12.

[0170] FIG. 10 illustrates a flowchart of an example method 1000 of communication implemented at a terminal device in accordance with some embodiments of the present disclosure. For example, the method 1000 may be performed at the terminal device 110 as shown in FIG. 1. For the purpose of discussion, in the following, the method 1000 will be described with reference to FIG. 1. It is to be understood that the method 1000 may include additional blocks not shown and / or may omit some blocks as shown, and the scope of the present disclosure is not limited in this regard. The terminal device 110 is served by the network device 120.

[0171] At block 1010, the terminal device 110 may determine one or more monitoring results associated with one or more model inferences.

[0172] At block 1020, the terminal device 110 may perform an operation based on the one or more monitoring results. The operation comprises at least one of the following: modifying at least one of a prediction window or an observation window associated with a model inference; managing a first measurement report triggered by an event; or managing a second measurement report with a periodicity.

[0173] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may determine a set of comparison results associated with a monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results based on at least one of the following: a comparison between a real measurement result and a predicted measurement result associated with a same time instance; or a comparison between predicted measurement results associated with a same time instance. The terminal device 110 may determine the monitoring result based on at least one of the following: an average of comparison results in the set of comparison results; a variance of comparison results in the set of comparison results; a weighted average of comparison results in the set of comparison results; a slope of comparison results in the set of comparison results; or one of the set of comparison results.

[0174] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may modify the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window by: in accordance with a determination that the one or more monitoring results are better than a threshold result, performing a first operation comprising at least one of the following: lengthening the prediction window, or shortening the observation window; or in accordance with a determination that the one or more monitoring results are worse than the threshold result, performing a second operation comprising at least one of the following: shortening the prediction window, or lengthening the observation window.

[0175] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window. The configuration indicates a size range or list for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window. The terminal device 110 may perform the first or second operation by: determining, within the size range or list, a modified size for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window.

[0176] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window. The configuration indicates a set of modified sizes for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window. The set of modified sizes is associated with a set of monitoring result ranges. The terminal device 110 may perform the first or second operation by: selecting a monitoring result range from the set of monitoring result ranges based on the one or more monitoring results, and determining a modified size in the set of modified sizes corresponding to the monitoring result range.

[0177] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window is modified, the terminal device 110 may transmit information of the one or more monitoring results to the network device 120.

[0178] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may modify the prediction window by:performing a further model inference by using a set of real measurement results and the one or more monitoring results as model inputs; and obtaining, based on a model output, a set of predicted measurement results within a modified prediction window.

[0179] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may modify the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window by: transmitting, to the network device 120, a request for modifying the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window, the request comprising at least one of: a preference on a modified configuration for the at least one of the prediction window or the observation window, or the one or more monitoring results; and receiving the modified configuration from the network device 120.

[0180] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the one or more monitoring results satisfy a first condition, the terminal device 110 may transmit the request. In some embodiments, the preference on the modified configuration may be associated with the first condition.

[0181] In some embodiments, the one or more monitoring results may comprise a first set of monitoring results for a serving cell prediction and a second set of monitoring results for a neighbor cell prediction. The terminal device 110 may manage the first measurement report by: in accordance with a determination that the first set of monitoring results and the second set of monitoring results are better than a threshold result, performing an evaluation of future fulfillment of the event; or in accordance with a determination that at least one of the first set of monitoring results or the second set of monitoring results is worse than the threshold result, skipping the evaluation of future fulfillment of the event.

[0182] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may perform the evaluation by: determining a first predicted measurement result of a serving cell and a second predicted measurement result of a neighbor cell based on time instance differences or orders among predicted measurement results of the serving cell and the neighbor cell; and performing the evaluation of future fulfillment of the event based on the first predicted measurement result of the serving cell and the second predicted measurement result of the neighbor cell.

[0183] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the event is predicted to be fulfilled, the terminal device 110 may determine a time instance of fulfillment of the event based on one of the following: a later one of a first time instance of the first predicted measurement result and a second time instance of the second predicted measurement result; an earlier one of a first time instance of the first predicted measurement result and a second time instance of the second predicted measurement result; or an average of the first time instance and the second time instance.

[0184] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the event is predicted to be fulfilled at a future time instance, the terminal device 110 may perform an operation comprising at least one of the following: initiating the first measurement report at a time point earlier than the future time instance by a time offset; or cancelling all measurement report transmissions before the time point.

[0185] In some embodiments, the periodicity of the second measurement report may be greater than a periodicity of the model inference. The terminal device 110 may manage the second measurement report by: determining a first set of real measurement results and a first set of predicted measurement results to be reported, the first set of real measurement results and the first set of predicted measurement results being associated with a best monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results; generating the second measurement report comprising: the first set of real measurement results or a latest real measurement result in the first set of real measurement results; and the first set of predicted measurement results; and in accordance with a determination that one or more real measurement results corresponding to the first set of predicted measurement results have been measured, replacing, with the one or more real measurement results, the first set of predicted measurement results in the second measurement report.

[0186] In some embodiments, the periodicity of the second measurement report may be greater than a periodicity of the model inference. The terminal device 110 may manage the second measurement report by: determining a second set of real measurement results and a second set of predicted measurement results to be reported, the second set of real measurement results and the second set of predicted measurement results being associated with a first monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results, the first monitoring result being associated with a latest model inference with a monitoring result better than a threshold result among the one or more model inferences; generating the second measurement report comprising: the second set of real measurement results or a latest real measurement result in the second set of real measurement results; and the second set of predicted measurement results; and in accordance with a determination that one or more real measurement results corresponding to the second set of predicted measurement results have been measured, replacing, with the one or more real measurement results, the second set of predicted measurement results in the second measurement report.

[0187] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may store, in a variable of the terminal device, at least one of the following: a list of real measurement results of a cell; or a list of predicted measurement results of the cell.

[0188] In some embodiments, a real or predicted measurement result in the list of real or predicted measurement results may be associated with time information. The time information may comprise at least one of the following: a time instance of the real or predicted measurement result; or a relative time offset between the time instance of the real or predicted measurement result and a time instance in which the variable is generated or a measurement configuration is applied.

[0189] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that a monitoring result for a cell or frequency is worse than a threshold result, the terminal device 110 may deactivate a model inference for the cell or frequency. The terminal device 110 may transmit, to the network device 120, information indicating that the model inference for the cell or frequency is deactivated.

[0190] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may be further caused to at least one of the following: in accordance with a determination that a monitoring result for a cell or frequency is worse than a threshold result, transmit a request for deactivating a model inference for the cell or frequency to a network device; or in accordance with a determination that an indication of deactivating the model inference for the cell or frequency is received from the network device, deactivate the model inference for the cell or frequency.

[0191] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that a periodicity of a measurement is greater than a periodicity of the model inference, and a model input for the model inference is unavailable at an occasion of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may skip the model inference at the occasion. In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the periodicity of the model inference is configured, the terminal device 110 may skip an update or change for the periodicity of the measurement.

[0192] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may receive, from the network device 120, a configuration indicating a non-redundant prediction. In accordance with a determination that the prediction window is longer than a periodicity of the model inference, the terminal device 110 may perform the model inference until all real measurement results corresponding to the prediction window are measured.

[0193] In some embodiments, a monitoring result in the one or more monitoring results may be one of the following: a reference signal received power difference, or prediction accuracy.

[0194] With the method 1000, AI mobility related management based on monitoring result (s) may be carried out. AI efficiency may be improved, and unnecessary measurement report may be avoided.

[0197] At block 1120, the terminal device 110 may determine that no predicted measurement results are updated upon initiation of the second measurement report.

[0198] At block 1130, in accordance with a determination that no predicted measurement results are updated upon initiation of the second measurement report, the terminal device 110 may manage the second measurement report. In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may manage the second measurement report by one of the following: cancelling the second measurement report, or initiating the second measurement report comprising one or more real measurement results measured after a previous model inference or a latest real measurement result in the one or more real measurement results.

[0199] In some embodiments, the terminal device 110 may initiate the second measurement report by: in accordance with a determination that a difference between one or more predicted measurement results in the previous model inference and the one or more real measurement results is greater than a threshold, initiating the second measurement report comprising one or more real measurement results after the previous model inference or a latest real measurement result in the one or more real measurement results.

[0200] In some embodiments, in accordance with a determination that the difference between the one or more predicted measurement results and the one or more real measurement results is smaller than the threshold, the terminal device 110 may cancel the second measurement report.
