Abstract

The present invention relates to an innovative device for roofing covering and thermal insulation of roofs. Roof insulation represents a crucial element for improving the energy efficiency of buildings and ensuring indoor comfort in every season. This process consists in thermally insulating the roof surface to reduce heat loss during winter and limit internal overheating during summer. An increasingly widespread solution in this field is the use of insulated tiles, which combine the traditional covering function with advanced insulating properties. In the present disclosure, an innovative insulated tile is described.

[0004] The present invention relates to an innovative device for roofing covering and thermal insulation of roofs. Roof insulation represents a crucial element for improving the energy efficiency of buildings and ensuring indoor comfort in every season. This process consists in thermally insulating the roof surface in order to reduce heat loss during winter and limit internal overheating during summer. An increasingly widespread solution in this field is the use of insulated tiles, which combine the traditional covering function with advanced insulating properties.

[0006] Currently, panels are available on the market which, on one side, namely the side exposed to atmospheric agents, resemble a roof covering with tiles made of ferrous material (metal sheets), while on the opposite side they comprise insulating materials such as polyurethane and rock wool. This technology makes it possible to save energy, reduce heating and cooling costs, and contribute to environmental sustainability, in compliance with increasingly stringent energy regulations.

[0007] Nevertheless, disadvantageously, the materials used are only partially recyclable and in any case not suitable for full inclusion in green building projects. Furthermore, existing solutions on the market often lack aesthetic value, since coverings made with such panels only resemble roofs made with clay tiles.

[0009] An object of the present invention is to provide an insulated tile that is made of fully recyclable and / or biodegradable material.

[0010] Another object of the present invention is to provide an insulated tile that can be installed on any roof structure suitable for receiving tiles. A further object of the present invention is to provide an insulated tile that can comprise one or more layers of insulating material.

[0011] Yet another object of the present invention is to provide an insulated tile that is economical.

[0012] BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] The aforementioned innovative insulated tile thus comprises at least one upper rigid layer (waterproof), namely the one exposed to atmospheric agents on its uppersurface, and is connected on its lower surface to at least a first thermally insulating layer. It is characterized in that it comprises at least one second lower rigid layer connected on its upper surface to said first insulating layer and supported / connected on its lower surface to the upper surface of the building structure to be covered and insulated.

[0014] The insulated tile may comprise a plurality of thermally insulating layers connected to each other, included between said first upper rigid layer and said second lower rigid layer, made of biodegradable and / or recyclable materials.

[0015] The upper and lower rigid layers of a first insulated tile are suitable to engage respectively with the upper and lower rigid layers of other insulated tiles to form an insulated roof covering.

[0016] Said rigid layers are made of brick material.

[0023] DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[0024] In FIG. 1a, in particular, a plan view of the innovative insulated tile 1 is shown. The upper rigid layer 2, which is preferably made of brick material 11, is visible. This layer is the one exposed externally on the roof covering on its upper surface 3’ and can match both functionally and aesthetically a traditional tile.

[0025] In FIG. 1b, a cross-section of the innovative insulated tile is shown. In this case, it is an insulated tile 1 with a single insulating layer. The insulated tile 1 therefore comprises an upper rigid layer 2, a thermally insulating layer 4, and a second lower rigid layer 5. The lower surface 3 of the upper rigid layer 2 is connected to said insulating layer 4 onits upper surface, and said insulating layer 4 is connected on its lower surface to the upper surface 6 of the lower rigid layer 5.

[0026] The second lower rigid layer 5 is also preferably made of brick material 11. The upper rigid layer 2 and the lower rigid layer 5 comprise engagements 10 on their lower surfaces 3 and 7, respectively, so as to be able to interlock either with an adjacent insulated tile and / or with a surface to be covered with said insulated tiles. In the thermally insulating layer 4, a recess 15 is made to allow connection with a further tile by interlocking, as will be clarified in more detail below. The first thermally insulating layer 4 may be made of a plurality of thermally insulating materials, which may also be biodegradable and environmentally friendly, such as: animal wool, an excellent thermal and fireproof insulator; cork, also an excellent thermal and fireproof insulator; papier-mache; grasses; cane or bamboo cane; and leather.

[0027] In FIG. 2a, two insulated tiles 1 connected to each other are shown. In this case, the two tiles comprise two thermally insulating layers 4 and 4’, for example, a first layer 4 of animal wool and a second layer 4’ of cork.

[0028] It is noted that the two tiles connect to each other by means of engagements 10 and recesses 15, similarly to tile coverings already present on the market, for example of the “Marseilles” type. It is noted that the lateral engagements 10’ between tile and tile are not highlighted, as they are similar to the prior art. More specifically, FIG. 2b shows an example of the installation of the innovative insulated tile on the roof surface 8 of a building.

As already highlighted, such layers may be made of various materials among those already cited, not necessarily all different from one another (for example, a first layer 4 in animal wool, a second layer 4’ in papier-mache, a third layer 4”’ in animal wool).

[0031] It is therefore evident that the present innovative insulated tile solves the aforementioned problems of the prior art while providing an ecological and versatilesolution for roof insulation, allowing the use of recycled and / or ecological materials with all the associated advantages.

[0032] In fact, the present invention accelerates the roofing times of an insulated roof compared to known techniques, with the possibility of choosing the combination of materials: depending on the requirements, one can prioritize not only thermal insulation capacity but also fire resistance (e.g., wool and cork) or lightness (e.g., cork or papier-mache) and even local material availability.

[0033] It is evident that variations in the type of insulation, the number of layers, and the connection methods between tiles are mere embodiments of the present invention, as better described in the appended claims.

Claims

CLAIMS1. An insulated tile device (1 ) comprising at least one upper rigid layer (2) impermeable to water, exposed to the elements on its upper surface (3') and connected on its lower surface (3) to at least one first thermally insulating layer (4) and is characterized in that it comprises at least one second lower rigid layer (5) connected on its upper surface (6) to the lower surface of said first insulating layer (4) and supported / connected on its lower surface (7) with the upper surface (8) of a building structure to be covered and insulated.

2. The insulated tile device (1) according to claim 1, wherein said insulated tile comprises a plurality of thermally insulating layers (4, 4’, 4” etc.) connected to each other, included between said first upper rigid layer (2) and said second lower rigid layer (5), said thermally insulating layers being made of biodegradable and / or recyclable materials.

3. The insulated tile device (1) according to the previous claims, wherein said upper (2) and lower (5) rigid layers of a first insulated tile (1) being suitable to engage respectively with the upper and lower rigid layers of other insulated tiles to form an insulated roof covering.

4. The insulated tile device (1) according to the previous claims, wherein said rigid layers (2,5) being made of brick material.

5. The insulated tile device (1) according to the preceding claims, wherein said insulating layers (4, 4’, 4”, etc.) are made of insulating materials such as animal wool and / or cork and / or wood and / or papier-mache and / or grasses and / or cane or bamboo cane and / or leather.

6. The insulated tile device (1) according to the preceding claims, wherein said insulating layers (4, 4’, 4” etc.) can be inserted into the same tile device made of any combination of insulating materials.

7. The insulated tile device (1) according to the preceding claims, wherein the upper rigid layer (2) and the lower rigid layer (5) comprise on their lower surface (3 and 7) respectively engagements (10) to be able to fit either onto an adjacent insulated tile and / or onto a surface to be covered with said insulated tiles and in the thermally insulated layer (4) a recess (15) is made to allow the connection with a further tile by interlocking.
