Description

1 / 4 “IMPROVEMENTS IN DIELECTRIC STRAP AND THEIR MANUFACTURING PROCESS”

[01] Dielectric ropes are designed for applications in energized installations according to NBR 13018 (rope for work in energized installation - transmission) and IEC 62192 (work in voltage - insulating ropes) standards. Their applications include Insulation Ropes; Rope for live line work; Transmission and distribution; Emergency restoration system; Network safety operations for rigging, crane, scaffolding and poles; Lifting and rigging; Winch; Marking; Tree pruning; Evacuation and rescue; Access rope; Helicopter during load lifting; Human external load (HEC) for helicopter operation. STATE OF THE ART

[02] Current state-of-the-art dielectric string models have low resistance to ultraviolet rays and low dielectric strength, which in this case only guarantees resistance in tests up to 30 kV maximum voltage, where leakage current does not exceed 80 μA, thus being more susceptible to electric shocks.

[03] These ropes have low moisture resistance, reducing their dielectric capacity, and lower temperature resistance compared to aramid, requiring the application of resin to increase moisture resistance, which makes it difficult to inspect for faults in the rope's length, in addition to having high elasticity due to their twisted construction, with a larger gauge in rope diameter because their tensile strength is lower than that of aramid. INVENTION PROPOSAL

[04] To offer the market a braided aramid dielectric rope with a polyurethane coating, providing greater resistance to ultraviolet rays, greater dielectric strength with the use of an aramid rope with a polyurethane sheath, achieving a resistance in tests up to 80 kV maximum voltage, Petition 870260043482, dated 08 / 05 / 2026, page 6 / 13 2 / 4 and greater resistance to leakage current of up to 50 μA, thus being less susceptible to electric shocks.

[05] The aforementioned rope provides greater resistance to moisture, increasing its dielectric capacity, greater resistance to temperatures compared with prior art ropes, eliminating the need for resin application to increase moisture resistance.

[06] Ease in the inspection process when checking for faults in the length of the rope with low elasticity due to its braided construction, in addition to offering the market a rope with a smaller gauge in its diameter, increasing its tensile strength. DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[09] Figure 3 - Top view of the 12-spindle braiding machine forming the aramid core. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[010] According to the attached figures, the dielectric cord (1) is formed by a braided aramid core (2), externally covered by a polyurethane sheath (3) with a circular profile and tubular body, the core (2) being manufactured on a 12-spindle braiding machine (4) and the polyurethane sheath (3) being melted and joined to the core (2) through a hot extrusion process, forming a solid and compact dielectric cord (1). The dielectric cord (1) itself is manufactured through the following steps:

[011] 1. braiding: the rope strand, in its initial form, undergoes a process called braiding. In this process, the aramid strand is braided and through Petition 870260043482, dated 08 / 05 / 2026, page 7 / 13 3 / 4 bobbins made on a 12-spindle braiding machine (4), reproducing the braided aramid core (2) with the desired diameter.

[012] 3. Coating: after the formation of the braided aramid core (2), the coating process itself consists of applying the polyurethane insulating layer (3) over said core (2). This process is done by hot extrusion, where the insulating material of the polyurethane sheath (3) is melted and applied around the core (2).

[013] 4. Cooling and Drying: after the application of the aforementioned polyurethane coating (3), the rope (1) undergoes a cooling and drying process to ensure that the polyurethane insulating material adheres correctly and achieves the desired strength properties.

[014] 5. Testing: finally, the braided aramid core (2) coated with the polyurethane sheath (3) undergoes quality testing, including electrical resistance and insulation tests, to ensure that it meets safety and performance standards.

[015] In summary, the dielectric cord covering process (1) is fundamental to ensuring the safety and proper functioning of electrical installations, protecting people and equipment.

[016] The dielectric cord (1) is manufactured in different sizes that vary according to the diameter (A) of the core (2) obtained by braiding (4) and the addition of the polyurethane sheath (3), and can reach a final diameter (B) of the cord (1) in different sizes, according to the proportion references highlighted in Table 1 below:
