Description

/ 7 “ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN A UNIVERSAL CERAMIC SEALING MECHANISM FOR REPAIRING HYDRAULIC DEVICES”. TECHNICAL FIELD

[001] This utility model relates to an arrangement introduced in a universal ceramic sealing mechanism intended for repairing hydraulic devices in general (valves, taps and mixers) when they present leakage problems, said new universal ceramic sealing mechanism presenting innovative characteristics such that they have made it possible to install it in any device (valve / tap / mixer), regardless of the internal space available in said device, thus substantially facilitating the work of replacing the mechanism. DESCRIPTION OF THE STATE OF THE ART

[002] Valves, taps and mixers internally equipped with a ceramic sealing mechanism (CSM) are already known in the art. This mechanism consists of a cartridge with two adjacent ceramic discs, one fixed and the other movable, the latter interconnected and actuated by the device's actuating rod. By rotating the actuating rod of the device (valve, tap or mixer) ¼ turn in one direction, the disc connected to it is rotated relative to the other, fixed disc, thus achieving the coincidence of the openings provided in both, and consequently, the passage of water (device open); by rotating the actuating rod of the device ¼ turn in the opposite direction, the openings provided in both discs cease to coincide, now preventing the passage of water (device closed).

[003] In this type of valve, tap or mixer, in case of leakage, it is sufficient to replace the damaged ceramic sealing mechanism (CVM) with a new one. To do so, one option for the user is to purchase a new CVM mechanism from the market that is from the same manufacturer and of the same model as the one specified in the device to be repaired, so that its replacement is easy and quick.

[004] Another option for the user is to replace the damaged mechanism with a mechanism commonly called a "universal mechanism". In fact, these are already Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, page 17 / 34 / 7 known in the art are the so-called "universal" ceramic sealing mechanisms, which can be mounted on any damaged valve / tap / mixer, regardless of the model and manufacturer of said devices.

[005] These universal mechanisms are manufactured and marketed by companies that manufacture repair components, which also have, in their product line, a plurality of modules (or nuts) with externally threaded sections of different diameters, compatible with the internally threaded sections of the various models of valves / taps / mixers existing on the market, said modules all having an internal thread of the same diameter, into which the replacement ceramic sealing mechanism itself is screwed.

[006] Thus, to replace a damaged ceramic sealing mechanism (CVM) with a “universal mechanism” of the type described above, the user simply needs to take the damaged original mechanism to a plumbing supply store, where they can identify the diameter (thread) of the device (valve / tap / mixer) in which the mechanism was threaded, using a gauge commonly provided in these establishments; once the thread is identified, the user acquires the appropriate reduction module (or nut), as well as the replacement mechanism itself, which is threaded onto the said module. This assembly (mechanism + module) is then used to replace the damaged mechanism in the existing device.

[007] In both cases, that is, whether using a ceramic sealing mechanism of the same model and manufacturer as the damaged original, or using a universal ceramic sealing mechanism, replacing the damaged mechanism is normally a substantially easy and quick operation, since the user simply removes the entire cartridge and installs a new one (either the original or the universal), without needing to disassemble the valve / tap / mixer, nor is it necessary to use special tools to complete the removal of the old cartridge and the installation of the new one.

[008] It often happens that, when installing the newly acquired ceramic sealing mechanism in the damaged hydraulic device (valve, faucet or mixer), the Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, p. 18 / 34 / 7 The user verifies that the available internal space in the aforementioned hydraulic device is greater or less than the length of the new repair mechanism, which means that the installation of the replacement ceramic sealing mechanism cannot be carried out satisfactorily. FUNCTIONAL IMPROVEMENTS

[009] The functional improvement of the present universal ceramic sealing mechanism for repairing valves, taps and mixers in general lies in the incorporation of an assembly consisting of a telescopic extension and a locknut, elements which work together to precisely adjust the height (depth) of the mechanism in relation to the internal space available in the hydraulic device to be repaired. This configuration allows not only the dimensional adaptation of the assembly, but also the secure locking of the adjusted position, providing better functional seating of the ceramic discs, greater axial stability, sealing efficiency and increased universal compatibility of the mechanism with different models of valves, taps and mixers available on the market.

[010] In this way, it became possible to decrease or increase the height of the universal ceramic sealing mechanism, in order to allow adjustment of the height (depth), depending on the available internal space of each valve, tap or mixer in which it is installed.

[011] This will be explained in detail throughout this report, with the aid of the attached drawings. DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES

[012] For illustration and perfect visualization of the new universal ceramic sealing mechanism that is the subject of this patent, the following drawings are presented: Figure 1 is a perspective view of the mechanism now being innovated; Figure 2 is an exploded view of the mechanism, showing all its component parts, as well as the two innovative parts that have been incorporated into it – a telescopic extension and a locknut – responsible for adjusting the height (depth) of the mechanism, depending on the available height (depth). Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, page 19 / 34 / 7 in the device (register, tap or mixer) that is being repaired; Figures 3 and 4 show the mechanism in question through a side view and a side cutaway view, respectively; Figures 5 and 6 are the same side view and side cutaway view as Figures 3 and 4, now showing the newly innovated mechanism already threaded onto the appropriate reduction module (or nut), compatible with the thread of the device (valve / tap / mixer) in which the original damaged mechanism was threaded; and Figure 7 illustrates, in sequence, how the newly innovated mechanism can have its height (depth) regulated by moving the telescopic extension and subsequently locking the chosen position with the locknut, which is screwed until it touches the aforementioned reduction module (or nut), thus obtaining the adjustment of the mechanism's height (depth), depending on the height (depth) available in the device (valve, tap or mixer) being repaired. DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE OBJECT

[013] The object of this Utility Model patent is a new “CONSTRUCTIVE ARRANGEMENT INTRODUCED IN A UNIVERSAL CERAMIC SEALING MECHANISM FOR REPAIRING HYDRAULIC DEVICES”, such devices as valves, taps and mixers, said ceramic sealing mechanism (I) usually consisting of the following components (illustrated in Figures 1, 2 and 3): - a tubular castle (1), formed by an externally threaded upper cylindrical section (1a), a middle section (1b) initially truncated conical and then cylindrical with notches (1c), and a lower cylindrical section also externally threaded (1d); - an internal drive rod (2), formed by an externally grooved upper section (2a) for fitting the external drive handle of the valve, tap or mixer to be repaired, annular grooves (2b) for housing respective sealing o'rings (not shown), and a lower section also externally grooved (2c); - a 90° or % turn (3) tubular and cylindrical rotating rod, equipped with grooves Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, page 20 / 34 / 7 internal (3a), for fitting into the externally grooved lower section (2c) of the drive rod (2), and equipped with an extreme lower fork (3b), in the shape of an inverted “U”, whose distal branches (3c) fit into corresponding diametrical recesses provided for in the movable ceramic insert (4) of the mechanism; - a movable ceramic insert (4), in the shape of a “butterfly”, so as to delimit two open sections (4a) and two closed sections (4b), and provided with two diametrical recesses (4c), capable of coinciding with the distal branches (3c) of the fork (3b) of the 90° or % turn turning rod (3); - a fixed ceramic insert (5), basically cylindrical, provided with two oblong openings (5a), with which they can partially or totally coincide either with the hollow diametrical sections (4a) of the movable disc (4), or with the closed diametrical sections (4b) of the same, thus providing, respectively, the obtaining of the “partially open”, “fully open” and “fully closed” positions of the mechanism; and - an end fixing piece (6), cylindrical and tubular.

[014] The ceramic sealing mechanism (I) also consists of a reduction module (or nut) (7), illustrated in Figures 5 and 6, which is chosen and acquired from a plurality of modules (or nuts) with externally threaded sections of different diameters (7a), compatible with the internally threaded sections of the various models of valves / taps / mixers available on the market, and with an internal thread of the same diameter (7b), into which the externally threaded lower section (1d) of the tubular bonnet (1) of the mechanism (I) is screwed.

[015] According to the present utility model, the universal ceramic sealing mechanism (I) for repairing hydraulic devices (valves, taps and mixers) now innovated incorporates an assembly consisting of a telescopic extension (8) and a lock nut (9).

[016] The telescopic extension (8), cylindrical and tubular, is formed by an externally threaded upper section (8a) and a lower section (8b) inside which the mechanism's pads (4) and (5) are housed, duly locked by the extreme fixing piece (6), with diametrical openings (8c) provided therein. The externally threaded upper section (8a) of said telescopic extension (8) is Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, page 21 / 34 / 7 capable of being threaded into the castle (1), more specifically into the internal thread (1e) that has been provided for in the externally threaded lower cylindrical section (1d) of said castle (1).

[017] And the lock nut (9) is also threaded into the externally threaded upper section (8a) of the telescopic extension (8).

[018] These two parts - the telescopic extension (8) and the lock nut (9) - form a height (depth) adjustment assembly for the mechanism, depending on the height (depth) available in the device (valve, tap or mixer) being repaired. This will be better explained later, using the sequence illustrated in Figure 7.

[019] Once the universal mechanism (I) now innovated has been acquired on the market, as well as the reduction module (or nut) (7) appropriate for the hydraulic device (valve / tap / mixer) to be repaired, the user initially installs the mechanism (I) in the said module (7), and performs the height adjustment.

[020] To do so, the user proceeds as follows (see the sequence in Figure 7): the newly innovated ceramic sealing mechanism (I) is initially found with the telescopic complement (8) fully threaded inside the lower section (1e) of the castle (1), said position being locked by the lock nut (9), which is against said castle (1) and the reduction module (7) (see position “A”); in this position, the height (depth) of the mechanism is indicated by the letter “x”.

[021] When installing this ceramic sealing mechanism (I) in the hydraulic device (valve, tap or mixer), replacing the deteriorated and already removed original mechanism, it may be necessary to increase the height (depth) of said mechanism, depending on the available height (depth) of the device.

[022] In this case, the user only needs to initially screw the nut (9) down (as indicated by arrow “a” in Figure 7), to unlock that initial position (see position “B”).

[023] Once this is done, the user now screws the telescopic extension (8) downwards (as indicated by arrow “b” in Figure 7), gradually moving it away from the castle. Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, page 22 / 34 / 7 (1), until reaching the desired height (depth), compatible with the available height of the device (see position C).

[024] To lock the telescopic extension (8) in this new position, the user simply needs to screw the lock nut (9) back on, now upwards (as indicated by arrow c in Figure 7), until it touches the castle (1) and the module (7) again (see position D); note that, in this position, the height (depth) of the mechanism, now indicated by the letter y, has been increased, as needed to accommodate that specific device.

[025] As previously mentioned, this innovation made it possible to decrease or increase the height (depth) of the universal ceramic sealing mechanism (I), depending on the available internal space of each valve, tap or mixer in which it is installed.

[026] The preferred embodiment of the present utility model has been described, and any modifications and / or alterations should be understood as being within the scope of the utility model presented. Petition 870260040253, dated 04 / 29 / 2026, p. 23 / 34
