METHOD AND POLYMERIC MATERIAL WITH EXPRESSION-SUPPRESSING OR BLOOD-FEEDING INHIBITING ACTIVITY AGAINST MOSQUITOES

Abstract

By the present invention it has now been found that certain mixtures of 4-(trifluoromethylnicotinamide) and active compound compositions comprising such mixtures are suitable for controlling nuisance insects, disease-carrying insects or hematophagous (blood-feeding) insects, parasites including diptera, triatomine mosquitoes and parasitic insects of the genus kimicidus by expression suppression or by inhibition of blood feeding. In one embodiment, the diptera parasites are selected from flies, gnats and mosquitoes, including insecticide-resistant flies, gnats and mosquitoes, as well as flies, gnats and mosquitoes carrying pathogenic disease. The target parasitic insects of the genus kimicid are selected from bed mites. The target parasites of the genus kimicid are selected from kissing mites.
