Description

[0001] The invention relates to a fastening device for a sanitary fitting according to the preamble of patent claim 1.

[0002] Freestanding sanitary fittings with high standpipes or long spouts are often difficult to align exactly vertically when installing them on the floor.

[0003] Common freestanding bath filler faucets with tall standpipes feature a circumferential flange with holes at their bottom end, through which they are screwed to the floor or to a concealed installation unit. This is usually a soldered flange. To conceal the connection point after installation, these are covered with decorative rosettes. Since the rosette cannot be pushed on from either the outlet side or the floor connection side once the standpipe of the sanitary fitting is installed, it must be pushed on at the factory before installation. Due to its ability to move along the standpipe, this often leads to damage to the decorative surface of the sanitary fitting. Furthermore, packaging becomes more complex and expensive.

[0004] From DE 196 22 368 A1, a plurality of sanitary mixing valves are known, in particular concealed mixing valves, which form a set of mixing valves comprising identical universal connection housings, but different cartridges and corresponding, different cartridge adapters.

[0005] DE 196 27 571 A1 discloses a concealed connection piece for at least one water valve and DE 195 25 358 C2 describes a single-lever mixer tap for concealed installation.

[0006] Against this background, the object of the invention is to improve a fastening device for a sanitary fitting.

[0007] The object is achieved by a fastening device having the features of patent claim 1. Advantageous further developments are the subject of subclaims.

[0008] The invention provides a fastening device for a freestanding sanitary fitting or a part of a sanitary fitting to a concealed installation unit with water guides, which has connections for a cold and hot water supply line of the house connection. A clamping element is provided for the detachable connection between the sanitary fitting or the part of the sanitary fitting and the concealed installation unit. With the help of the clamping element, the sanitary fitting or a part of a sanitary fitting, such as a standpipe or a spout, can be rigidly connected to the concealed installation unit without having to make any modifications to the sanitary fitting itself for the connecting structure. The bottom end of the sanitary fitting can remain unmachined.

[0009] The clamping element is a slotted clamping ring, which has a flange at least in some areas on the side facing away from the flush-mounted installation body. The flange has through holes for screws, while the flush-mounted installation body has threaded holes. This allows the clamping element to be fixed to the flush-mounted installation body using screws, preferably clamping screws.

[0010] A further development of the invention provides that the outer circumference of the clamping ring tapers continuously from the flange across its height to the terminal edge. Thus, the outer surface of the clamping ring corresponds to the surface of a truncated cone. The inner circumference of the clamping ring, in contrast, remains constant. Thus, the inner surface of the clamping ring corresponds to that of a cylinder. This results in a wedge-shaped cross-section for the clamping ring.

[0011] The concealed installation unit advantageously comprises two bearing parts that have a complementary spherical cap shape, one bearing part being fixed and the other being movable. The fixed bearing part of the concealed installation unit facing the floor has connections for the water supply lines. Water guides are arranged in the movable bearing part, which communicate with the connections of the fixed bearing part and can be connected to the cold and hot water lines of the sanitary fitting. The sanitary fitting is aligned via the movable bearing part of the concealed installation unit. After the sanitary fitting is attached to the movable bearing part of the concealed installation unit using the clamping element, the vertical position of the fitting is checked and the movable bearing part is fixed to the fixed bearing part of the concealed installation unit.Advantageously, the diameter of the clamping element's flange corresponds to that of the movable bearing part of the concealed installation unit. The clamping element's flange has recesses so that through holes can be provided in the area of the recesses on the movable bearing part, which serve to screw the two bearing parts together after the sanitary fitting has been aligned.

[0012] To accommodate the clamping element and the sanitary fitting, a circular ring-shaped recess or groove is provided on the concealed installation unit or on the movable bearing part of the concealed installation unit, the width of which tapers along its depth. This also results in a truncated cone-shaped recess with a circular cross-section, with the inner wall of the groove being vertical and the outer wall being inclined.

[0013] The clamping element surrounds the sanitary fitting or the part of the sanitary fitting within the holder. The inner surface of the clamping element adapts precisely to the contour of the sanitary fitting, while the outer surface rests against the wall of the concealed installation unit or the movable bearing part. When the clamping element is screwed to the concealed installation unit or the movable bearing part of the concealed installation unit, the clamping element moves in an axial direction, which, due to the shape of the clamping element, creates a force-locking connection between the sanitary fitting and the concealed installation unit or the movable bearing part.

[0014] An embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing and is described in more detail below. In the drawings, the same reference numerals denote the same functional parts. The drawing shows the Fig. 1 a perspective view of a clamping element according to the invention; Fig. 2 shows a section through a fastening device according to the invention; Fig. 3 a section through the fastening device Fig. 2; Fig. 4 a plan view of the fastening device from Fig. 2.

[0015] Fig. Figure 1 shows the clamping element 1 according to the invention in a perspective view. A flange 12 is molded, soldered, or welded onto the top of a conical clamping ring, which has an outer inclined surface 11 and an inner vertical surface 14. Bores 13, 15 for attaching the clamping element 1 to a flush-mounted installation body (not shown) are arranged in the flange 12. The bores 13 serve to attach the clamping element 1, while the bores 15, which have a smaller diameter, are provided for releasing the clamping element 1.

[0016] The Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 each show a section through a fastening device according to the invention in the installed state. A concealed installation body 3 is fastened to the floor. The concealed installation body 3 is surrounded by an installation template 6, which separates it from the surrounding floor (not shown) and simultaneously forms the support for a final rosette 7, which covers the connecting structure of the sanitary fitting 2. The concealed installation body 3 comprises a fixed and a movable bearing part 31, 32. The fixed bearing part 31 has a concave spherical cap shape, while the movable bearing part 32 has a convex spherical cap shape complementary to the fixed bearing part 31. The connections for cold and hot water from the house connection are provided in the fixed bearing part 31. These correspond to corresponding water guides in the movable bearing part 32.For a tight connection between the movable bearing part 32 and the fixed bearing part 31, receptacles for sealing rings are provided in the fixed bearing part 31, so that the connection points are sealed despite possible rotation of the movable bearing part 32.

[0017] The movable bearing part 32 contains a receptacle 34 for the sanitary fitting 2. The receptacle 34 is circular, with the width of the circular cross-section tapering continuously from top to bottom. The inside of the receptacle is vertical, and the outside is inclined from the outside inward, so that the shape of the receptacle 34 or groove corresponds to the shape of the clamping element 1. However, the width of the receptacle 34 is selected such that, in addition to the clamping element 1, the sanitary fitting 2 can also be mounted in the receptacle 34, and the clamping element 1 surrounds the sanitary fitting 2, or in this case, the cylindrical standpipe of the free-standing sanitary fitting 2 (bath inlet fitting).

[0018] The movable bearing part 32 has a flange with threaded holes 33 on its side facing away from the fixed bearing part 31. These threaded holes 33 correspond to the holes 13 on the clamping element 1. During assembly, first the rosette 7 and then the clamping element 1 are pushed from below onto the standpipe of the sanitary fitting 2 and the standpipe of the sanitary fitting 2 is then pushed into the annular receptacle 34 of the movable bearing part 32. After aligning the standpipe of the sanitary fitting 2 and the clamping element 1 in the receptacle 34, the clamping element of the sanitary fitting 2 is screwed to the flange of the movable bearing part 32 using clamping screws 4. By tightening the clamping screws 4, the clamping element 1 moves in the axial direction and is also pulled into the receptacle 34 of the movable bearing part 32.This acts like a wedge, creating a force-locking, rigid connection between the sanitary fitting 2 and the movable bearing part 32. Since the sanitary fitting 2 is now firmly connected to the movable bearing part 32, the standpipe of the sanitary fitting 2 can now be aligned together with the movable bearing part 32. After the sanitary fitting 2 is aligned, the movable bearing part 32 is finally fixed to the fixed bearing part 31 using screws 5.

[0019] Out of Fig. 3 shows that the holes 15 in the flange of the clamping element 1 do not correspond with the corresponding threaded holes in the movable bearing part 32. These holes 15 are provided for releasing the clamping connection between the clamping element 1, the sanitary fitting 2, and the movable bearing part 32. After loosening the clamping screws 4, suitable screws can be screwed into the holes 15 (threaded holes) until they rest on the flange of the movable bearing part 32. With further screw movement, the clamping element 1 is again moved in the axial direction—in this case upwards—so that the clamping element 1 is released from the holder 34.

[0020] In Fig.Figure 4, a top view of the fastening device, clearly shows the arrangement of the clamping screws 4 and screws 5, or the bores 13, 15. Six clamping screws 4 are provided for fastening the clamping element 1 to the movable bearing part 32. Four screws 5 are provided for fastening the movable bearing part 32 to the fixed bearing part 31 of the concealed installation body 3, which are accessible even after the sanitary fitting 2 has been secured.
