Description

Technical field

[0001] The invention relates to a bio-waste bag for collecting organic waste, in particular a HYBRID bio-bag made of paper and cellophane film, which is suitable for household use as well as commercial and municipal applications. State of the art

[0002] Conventional compostable waste bags are either made of paper, which quickly becomes soggy, or of PLA-based bioplastics, which will no longer be permitted in Germany from 2025 onwards due to the amendment of the German Biowaste Ordinance (BioAbfV). Therefore, there is a need for an alternative that is both functional and compliant with the law. Object of the invention

[0003] The object of the invention is to provide a biowaste bag that is leak-proof, suitable for everyday use, biodegradable and compliant with regulations, and that prevents the bag from becoming soggy, without resorting to petroleum-based or PLA materials. Solution

[0004] The problem is solved by a compostable waste bag made of a wet-strength paper structure, partially or fully combined with a cellophane film, preferably a NatureFlex film. The cellophane film forms an integrated moisture barrier.

[0005] The coating can be applied to the entire interior surface or only to functional zones (e.g., floor, lower wall area). The paper and cellophane layers are bonded together by lamination, gluing, or sealing. The cellophane film can have varying thicknesses.

[0006] The bag can be designed as a flat bag, two-seam bag, side-gusseted bag, cross-bottom bag, block bottom bag, or three-sided bag. Optionally, the bag can be equipped with carrying handles. The handles can be integrated with the bag or formed separately. The bag may have fold lines to create the respective bag shape.

[0007] The bag can be used in the bin with or without the optional mesh insert. The mesh insert improves air circulation and reduces condensation, but is not essential for the bag to function. The mesh insert may have spacers, preferably between 1 mm and 10 mm high.

[0008] The bag can optionally be provided with a perforation for separation from a roll of packaging or a block of bags.

[0009] The bag is fully home compostable, complies with the requirements of the BioAbfV 2025 and avoids the risk of microplastics. Advantageous designs • Partial coating for optimal balance between material usage and drip resistance. • Full-surface coating as a protective option against aggressive moisture. • Use of NatureFlex cellular glass film to ensure home compostability. • Carrying handles can be integrated as an option. • Can be used with or without a grid insert. • Different bag shapes are applicable. • Cellophane film can have different layer thicknesses. • Optional perforation for separating from the bag block. Reference sign rule • Number 1 always describes the paper structure. • Number 2 always describes the cellophane film area. • Number 3 describes the grid insert in the trash can. • Number 4 describes the spacing feet of the grid. drawing
