Abstract

Capacitance sensor comprising: a substrate; a detection electrode arranged on one surface of the substrate; a first lateral shielding electrode arranged parallel to the detection electrode on the same surface of the substrate; and a rear shielding electrode arranged on the other surface of the substrate and opposite the detection electrode through the substrate, wherein a first alternating current (AC) drive voltage is applied to the detection electrode, a second AC drive voltage of the same frequency and phase as the first AC drive voltage is applied to the first lateral shielding electrode and the rear shielding electrode, and the capacitance sensor further comprising a lateral grounding electrode arranged parallel to the detection electrode and the first lateral shielding electrode on the same surface of the substrate and connected to an earth potential.
