Description

Title of the invention: Normally closed type clutch module

[0001] The field of the present invention is that of clutch modules of the normally closed type, in particular for motor vehicles.

[0002] Transmission systems are known, arranged between the gearbox and the thermal engine and comprising an electric machine and a clutch on the engine side allowing the crankshaft of the thermal engine to be coupled in rotation to the rotor of the electric machine. Thus, it is possible to switch off the thermal engine each time the vehicle stops and to restart it using the electric machine. The electric machine can also constitute an electric brake or provide additional energy to the thermal engine to assist it or prevent it from stalling. The electric machine can also drive the vehicle. When the thermal engine is running, the electric machine acts as an alternator. An actuation system has a rest state and an active state to ensure the control of the clutch between a coupling position of the thermal engine, called the "engaged position", and a decoupling position of the thermal engine, called the "disengaged position". If the active state of the actuation system corresponds to the engaged position, then it is referred to as a clutch of the normally open type. If the active state of the actuation system corresponds to the disengaged position, then it is referred to as a clutch of the normally closed type. Such a transmission assembly is disclosed in particular in patent application EP3532324. In this patent application, the clutch is of the "normally open" type.

[0003] The present invention aims in particular to further improve torque transmission systems.

[0004] The invention thus relates to a clutch module of the normally closed type having a first axis of rotation and comprising: - an output disc holder which can rotate relative to the first axis of rotation; - at least one friction disc; - a piston configured for, in an engaged position of the module clutch, tighten the friction disc, and in a disengaged position of the clutch module, loosen the friction disc; - an elastic device configured to exert an elastic return force on the piston to maintain the piston in the engaged position; - a piston actuation system with axial support, on the one hand, on the piston and, on the other hand, on the output disc holder, preferably through a bearing, and configured to bring the piston, against the elastic return force of the elastic device, from the engaged position to the disengaged position.

[0005] The invention makes it possible, thanks to the fact that the piston actuation system is axially supported, on the one hand, on the piston and, on the other hand, on the output disc holder, to create a force path during the actuation of the piston, a path which passes through the actuation system, the piston and the output disc holder, and advantageously without passing through a casing which surrounds the clutch module.

[0006] This force path is internal to the clutch module in the sense that the clutch module is self-sufficient, or almost self-sufficient, to allow the actuation of this clutch module. In other words, the clutch module is operational for example for a test / trial, without it being necessary to place this clutch module in its final environment. This is made possible by the fact that the force path is internal to the module (this force path does not need to rely on components that are external to the clutch module). Another advantage is that the clutch module can be manufactured in a factory and then be transported conveniently, before being assembled with other components such as an input module with damper. The "normally closed" type of the clutch module further has the following advantage. In order to transmit the torque of the thermal engine, which is the majority of vehicle usage situations, it is not necessary to permanently activate the actuation system, so the invention allows energy savings.

[0007] Preferably, the elastic device bears axially on the output disc holder.

[0008] Advantageously, the piston actuation system is axially supported on the output disc holder through a bearing. In fact, the disc holder rotates at the engine speed and the actuation system is fixed.

[0009] Advantageously, the clutch module is configured to be assembled in a torque transmission system, in particular for a motor vehicle, which further comprises an input module cooperating with the clutch module, the input module being upstream (in the direction of torque passage) of the clutch module.

[0010] According to one aspect of the invention, the clutch module comprises a multi-disc assembly between an input disc carrier and the output disc carrier.

[0011] According to one aspect of the invention, when assembled with the input module, the clutch module is radially inside a periphery passing through elastic members of the damper.

[0012] According to one aspect of the invention, the clutch module comprises a transmission ring gear configured to cooperate in rotation with a rotor shaft of a rotating electrical machine, possibly with the interposition of a speed reduction assembly between the transmission ring gear and the rotor shaft of the rotating electrical machine. The speed reduction assembly can be configured to allow several speed ratios.

[0013] In particular, the transmission crown which is linked to the output disc holder advantageously meshes with a toothed wheel linked to the rotor shaft of the rotating electrical machine via a speed reduction assembly.

[0014] According to one aspect of the invention, the transmission crown is axially opposite elastic members of the shock absorber.

[0015] “Axially opposite” means that the transmission crown and the organs The shock absorber's elastics are located on the same geometric cylinder (imaginary curve) centered on the first axis of rotation of the clutch module, and offset from each other parallel to this first axis of rotation.

[0016] According to one aspect of the invention, the transmission crown is toothed.

[0017] According to one aspect of the invention, the transmission crown, the mul- The disc and the piston actuation system form a radial stack.

[0018] In other words, the transmission crown, the multi-disc assembly and the piston actuation system are located substantially in the same plane perpendicular to the first axis of rotation of the clutch module.

[0019] Alternatively, the transmission ring gear may be axially offset relative to the multi-disc assembly and the piston actuation system, while remaining on a larger diameter relative to the multi-disc assembly and the piston actuation system.

[0020] According to one aspect of the invention, the piston cooperates with a bearing mounted on the actuation system so as to make the actuation system cooperate with the piston with freedom of rotation of the piston relative to the actuation system.

[0021] According to one aspect of the invention, the piston comprises at least one actuating finger which passes axially through the elastic device.

[0022] According to one aspect of the invention, the elastic device comprises at least one elastic washer, in particular a Belleville washer.

[0023] According to another aspect of the invention, the elastic device comprises at least one corrugated washer.

[0024] According to one aspect of the invention, the elastic device comprises a plurality of helical springs linked together, directly or indirectly, by their ends.

[0025] According to one aspect of the invention, the piston has a periphery which extends axially to press on the friction disc, the periphery passing axially to the through the elastic device. This improves radial compactness.

[0026] According to one aspect of the invention, the actuation system rests on a side of the piston, side facing the input module.

[0027] According to one aspect of the invention, the actuation system is configured to axially move the piston from the engaged position to the disengaged position. The actuation system may be mechanical, electromechanical, electromagnetic, or hydraulic.

[0028] According to one aspect of the invention, the actuation system is a ball ramp.

[0029] Alternatively, the actuation system is of the CSC “concentric slave cylinder” hydraulic type.

[0030] In particular, the piston actuation system is formed by a hydraulic actuation system (called in English “Concentric Slave Cylinder” or CSC) comprising a fixed chamber containing a hydraulic fluid and linked to the fixed part of the actuation system, and a movable part which moves axially in translation under the action of the pressurized hydraulic fluid and which is linked to the piston of the clutch module via a bearing.

[0031] Such a hydraulic actuation system is integrated in a similar manner to the system using a ball ramp.

[0032] According to one aspect of the invention, an axial bearing, in particular formed by an axial needle thrust bearing or a smooth axial bearing, is interposed between the piston actuation system and the output disc holder.

[0033] According to one aspect of the invention, the piston comprises an axial part passing through axial openings of the elastic device.

[0034] According to one aspect of the invention, the piston further comprises an axial portion passing through axial openings of the output disc holder.

[0035] According to one aspect of the invention, the clutch module is of the wet type. It operates with immersion in a transmission fluid such as oil.

[0036] The invention also relates to a torque transmission system, in particular for a motor vehicle, comprising the clutch module as described above, and an input module assembled together, the input module being upstream (in the direction of torque passage) of the clutch module.

[0037] According to one aspect of the invention, the input module comprises an input disk holder placed opposite the output disk holder.

[0038] According to one aspect of the invention, the input module comprises a damper and an input disc carrier which is placed opposite, radially and / or axially, the output disc carrier of the clutch module and linked to an output of the damper.

[0039] In a known manner, the damper serves to filter torsional oscillations (or acyclisms) of the thermal engine, independently of the engaged / disengaged state of the clutch module.

[0040] According to one aspect of the invention, the input and output disc holders comprise facing radial zones and an axial bearing, in particular formed by an axial needle thrust bearing or a smooth axial bearing, is interposed between these facing radial zones.

[0041] According to one aspect of the invention, said axial bearings, the bearing mounted on the actuation system and the actuation system are arranged in an axial stack (i.e. are located on a geometric line parallel to the first axis of rotation), and are substantially at the same radial distance from the first axis of rotation of the clutch module.

[0042] According to one aspect of the invention, the clutch module and the damping module are placed in an enclosure formed by a casing.

[0043] According to one aspect of the invention, the bottom of the housing contains the transmission fluid, and the clutch module is immersed in the transmission fluid.

[0044] According to one aspect of the invention, the clutch module is mounted with the input module by a connection (in particular by rivets or welding) between the input disc carrier and an output web of the damper.

[0045] The torque transmission system is in particular intended for a hybrid vehicle comprising a thermal engine and a rotating electrical machine, the clutch module being intended to couple / decouple the thermal engine from the transmission line of the vehicle.

[0046] Other characteristics, details and advantages of the invention will emerge more clearly on reading the description which follows on the one hand, and several exemplary embodiments given for informational and non-limiting purposes with reference to the appended schematic drawings on the other hand, in which:

[0047] [Fig-1] [Fig.l] is a sectional representation of a transmission system of couple according to one embodiment of the invention;

[0048] [Fig.2] [Fig.2] is a detailed view of the system of [Fig.l];

[0049] [Fig.3] [Fig.3] is a sectional representation of a transmission system of couple according to another embodiment not forming part of the invention.

[0050] The features, variants and different embodiments of the invention may be combined with each other, in various combinations, provided that they are not incompatible or mutually exclusive. In particular, variants of the invention may be imagined comprising only a selection of features described below in isolation from the other features described, if this selection of features is sufficient to confer a technical advantage and / or to differentiate the invention from the prior art. of the prior art.

[0051] [Fig.l] represents a cross-section of a torque transmission system 100 according to one embodiment of the invention.

[0052] The torque transmission system 100 is part of a kinematic chain of a transmission line of a motor vehicle.

[0053] The drive train comprises an electric motor 200 provided with a stator and a rotor.

[0054] The vehicle can be powered, depending on requirements, by a thermal engine or by the electric motor 200.

[0055] The torque transmission device 100 comprises a damper 300 with a damper input element 301 rotatable about a first axis of rotation X. The damper 300 forms an input module 350 within the meaning of the invention. In a known manner, the damper 300 serves to filter the torsional oscillations (or acyclisms) of the heat engine, independently of the engaged / disengaged state of a clutch module 1.

[0056] The damper input element 301, of the washer type, is rotationally coupled to a crankshaft of the heat engine, in a manner known per se.

[0057] The damper 300 comprises a torque output element 310, capable of being coupled in rotation to an input shaft of a gearbox for example.

[0058] The input element 301 is capable of pivoting relative to the output element 310 around the first axis of rotation X.

[0059] The damper 300 comprises a plurality of elastic members 304 acting against the rotation of the output element 310 relative to the input element 301.

[0060] In the example considered, the elastic members 304 are helical springs.

[0061] The springs 304 are framed by the input element 301 which can move closer locally between the springs 304 to define circumferential support zones for cooperation with the springs. These support zones make it possible to transmit the torque between the input element 301 and the springs 304.

[0062] The input element 301 extends towards the center by an axial extension portion 307 to cooperate with the output element 310 by means of a needle centering bearing 308 in order to ensure the centering of the input element 301 with the casing 70. At the center, the input element 301 is driven by a crankshaft hub 306 via a spline.

[0063] The torque output element 310 is here an intermediate element arranged between the elastic members 304 and a clutch module 1 for transmitting the torque.

[0064] The clutch module 1 and the input module 350 are placed in an enclosure 71 formed by a casing 70.

[0065] The bottom of the casing 70 contains the transmission fluid which is in particular oil, and the clutch module is immersed in the transmission fluid. Thus the clutch module 1 is of the wet type. It operates with immersion in a transmission fluid such as oil. In this case, an annular seal 98 is provided to seal the housing 70.

[0066] The casing 70 is formed by two assembled half-shells 72.

[0067] The intermediate element 310 comprises a web 311 whose radially outer periphery comprises notches 312 which are interposed circumferentially between the springs 304.

[0068] These notches 312 define circumferential support zones allowing the torque to be transmitted between the springs 304 and the output element 310.

[0069] The clutch module 1 comprises an output disc carrier 3 integral in rotation with an output hub 302.

[0070] The input module 350 comprises an input disc carrier 2 placed radially opposite the output disc carrier 3 of the clutch module 1.

[0071] The input disc holder 2 is rotationally integral with the intermediate element 310.

[0072] Thus the input module 350 comprises the damper 300 and the input disc holder 2 which is placed opposite the output disc holder 3 of the clutch module 1 and linked to an output of the damper 300.

[0073] When assembled with the input module 350, the clutch module 1 is radially inside a periphery PO passing through springs 304 of the damper 300.

[0074] The clutch module 1 comprises a toothed transmission ring gear 80 configured to cooperate with a rotor shaft 210, of a second axis of rotation XM, of the rotating electrical machine 200, with the interposition of a speed reduction assembly 220 between the transmission ring gear 80 and the rotor shaft 210 of the rotating electrical machine 200. The rotor shaft 210 is guided in rotation relative to the casing 70 by ball bearings 81.

[0075] The speed reducer assembly 220 may be configured to allow for multiple speed ratios.

[0076] The transmission crown 80 is for example welded to the output disc holder 3.

[0077] The second axis of rotation XM of the electric motor 200 is radially offset by relative to the first axis of rotation X of the clutch module 1, being parallel to each other.

[0078] The transmission crown 80 is axially opposite the elastic members 304 of the shock absorber 300.

[0079] “Axially opposite” means that the transmission crown 80 and the elastic members 304 of the shock absorber are located on the same geometric cylinder (imaginary curve) centered on the first axis of rotation X of the clutch module 1, and offset from each other parallel to this first axis of rotation X.

[0080] The clutch module 1 further comprises a multi-disc assembly 5 comprising several friction discs 6 integral in rotation with the input disc carrier 2, several plates 7 arranged on either side of each friction disc 6, integral in rotation with the output disc carrier 3 and friction linings arranged between the plates 7 and the friction discs 6.

[0081] The friction linings can be fixed, in particular glued or riveted, on the friction discs 6. Two friction linings can be fixed axially on either side of a friction disc.

[0082] In another embodiment not shown, a single friction lining can be fixed on a single axial side of a friction disc.

[0083] In another embodiment not shown, a single friction lining can be fixed axially on a single axial side of a friction disc and another friction lining can be fixed on a single axial side of a plate.

[0084] The clutch module 1 can take a disengaged position and an engaged position in which the plates 7 and the friction discs 6 pinch the friction linings so as to transmit a torque between the input disc carrier 2 and the output disc carrier 3.

[0085] Of course, other arrangements of friction discs 6 and plates 7 can be envisaged.

[0086] The output disc holder 3 carries an axially fixed reaction element 11 against which the multi-disc assembly 5 is clamped in the engaged position. The reaction element 11 takes the form of a continuous annular ring around the first axis of rotation X.

[0087] The plates 7 and the friction discs 6 are radially between a cylindrical skirt 12 of the output disc holder 3 and a cylindrical skirt 14 of the input disc holder 2.

[0088] The clutch module 1 may comprise between 2 and 7 friction discs, for example 4 friction discs.

[0089] The clutch module 1 also comprises a piston 20 configured to, in the engaged position of the clutch module 1, tighten the multi-disc assembly 5, and in the disengaged position, loosen the multi-disc assembly 5. The piston 20 presses on a counter-disc 29 which can tighten the multi-disc assembly 5. The counter-disc 29 is linked in rotation to the output disc carrier 3, with the possibility of axial movement.

[0090] The clutch module 1 further comprises an elastic device 30 configured to exert an elastic return force on the piston 20 to maintain the piston 20 in the engaged position. Such a clutch module 1 is said to be of the normally closed type.

[0091] The clutch module 1 also comprises an actuation system 40 for the piston 20 in axial support, on the one hand, on the piston 20 and, on the other hand, on the disc carrier of output 3, and configured to bring the piston 20, against the elastic return force of the elastic device 30, from the engaged position to the disengaged position.

[0092] The transmission crown 80, the multi-disc assembly 5 and the piston actuation system 40 form a radial stack.

[0093] In other words, the transmission crown 80, the multi-disc assembly 5 and the piston actuation system 40 are located substantially in the same plane perpendicular to the first axis of rotation X of the clutch module 1.

[0094] The input 2 and output 3 disc holders comprise, when approaching the first axis of rotation X, radial zones 16, respectively 15, facing each other and an axial bearing 37, formed by an axial needle thrust bearing or a smooth axial bearing, is interposed between these radial zones 15 and 16 facing each other.

[0095] Another axial bearing 38, formed by an axial needle thrust bearing or a smooth axial bearing, is interposed between the actuating system 40 of the piston and the radial zone 15 of the output disc holder 3.

[0096] The piston 20 cooperates with a bearing 39 mounted on the actuation system 40 so as to make the actuation system 40 cooperate with the piston 20 with freedom of rotation around the first axis of rotation X, of the piston 20 relative to the actuation system 40.

[0097] Said axial bearings 37 and 38, the bearing 39 mounted on the actuation system 40 and the actuation system 40 are arranged in an axial stack, namely are located on a geometric line XE parallel to the first axis of rotation X, and are substantially at the same radial distance from the first axis X of the clutch module 1.

[0098] The elastic device 30 comprises an elastic washer 36 of the Belleville type bearing on a circlip 49. The circlip 49 is attached between end tabs 23 of the piston 20. In addition, the elastic device 30 bears axially on the output disc holder 3.

[0099] In an alternative, the elastic device 30 may comprise at least one corrugated washer.

[0100] In an alternative not illustrated, the elastic device comprises a plurality of helical springs linked together by their ends. This is then referred to as a “Spring Pack” in English. In all cases, the piston 20 may comprise fingers which pass through the springs to tighten the multi-disc assembly.

[0101] The actuation system 40 rests on a flank 27 of the piston 20, flank 27 facing the input module 350.

[0102] The clutch module 1 is mounted with the input module 350 by a connection, in particular by rivets, between the input disc carrier 2 and the output web 311 of the shock absorber. Instead of rivets, it is possible to use welding.

[0103] The actuation system 40 is configured to axially move the piston 20 from the engaged position to the disengaged position. The actuation system 40 may be of the mechanical, electromechanical, electromagnetic, or hydraulic type.

[0104] In the example of figures 1 and 2, the actuation system 40 is formed by a ball ramp 42 which comprises a first ramp 43 and a second ramp 44.

[0105] A ring 45 between the first ramp 43 and the second ramp 44 holds balls not shown.

[0106] The first ramp 43 is in the form of a crown which rests on the axial bearing 38. This first ramp 43 is linked in rotation, for example via grooves or via a weld 48, to an actuating lever 47. This actuating lever 47 is formed by a wheel which is toothed on the inside to mesh with the second ramp 44 and toothed on the outside to mesh, directly or indirectly, with a pinion which comes out of an actuator motor in the case of the ball ramp.

[0107] In the case where the ball ramp 42 is replaced by a fork actuation system as described below, the actuation lever 47 is formed by a wheel which is toothed on the outside to mesh, directly or indirectly, with a lever of the fork.

[0108] The second ramp 44 is in the form of a toothed crown which carries the bearing 39.

[0109] The ramps 43 and 44 have shapes adapted so that, set in relative rotation by an electric motor (not shown), these ramps make it possible to move the piston 20 axially. The electric motor is linked to the actuating lever 47.

[0110] In a variant not illustrated, the piston actuation system is formed by a hydraulic actuation system (called in English “Concentric Slave Cylinder” or CSC) comprising a fixed chamber containing a hydraulic fluid and linked to the fixed part of the actuation system, and a movable part which moves axially in translation under the action of the pressurized hydraulic fluid and which is linked to the piston 20 of the clutch module 1 via the bearing 39.

[0111] Such a hydraulic actuation system is integrated in a similar manner to the system using a ball ramp.

[0112] In summary, the torque transmission system 100 which provides the clutch and damping functions, is intended for a hybrid vehicle comprising a thermal engine and a rotating electrical machine, the clutch module 1 being intended to couple / uncouple the thermal engine from the transmission line of the vehicle.

[0113] [Fig. 3] shows another example of embodiment, in which the ball ramp 42 is replaced by a fork actuation system 400.

[0114] The fork actuation system 400 comprises a fork 401 which is configured to be driven axially (parallel to the first axis of rotation X), directly or indirectly, by a mechanical drive system linked to the casing 70 and comprising an electric motor (not shown). The fork 401 is axially supported, at its radially inner end, against a circlip 403 secured to a ring 402.

[0115] The fork 401 pulls the ring 402 axially by axial pressure against the circlip 403 to move from the engaged position to the disengaged position.

[0116] In the disengaged position, axial play is created between the ring 402 and the fixed support 406 linked to the casing 70. The piston 20 can thus be moved axially, as in the example described previously, between the engaged position and the disengaged position.
