Abstract

A method for making a press-formed part according to the present invention includes a step of obtaining a preformed part (10) by press forming, and a step of press forming the preformed part (10) into a press-formed part (20) having a target shape. The preformed part (10) includes a preformed curved portion (10A) corresponding to a curved portion (20A) of the target shape, and a gradual changing area (10B1) and a preformed straight portion (10B2) corresponding to a straight portion (20B) of the target shape. A bending ridge line (13a) on the preformed curved portion (10A) is located at the same position as or inward from a bending ridge line (23) of the curved portion (20A) of the target shape.A bending ridge line (13b2) on the straight portion of the preform (10B2) is located outward in the width direction, through a bending ridge line (13b1) of the gradually changing area (10B1), from a bending ridge line (23) on the straight portion (20B) of the target shape.
