Aerosol-generating article with improved configuration

Abstract

There is provided an aerosol-generating article (10) for producing an inhalable aerosol upon heating, the aerosol-generating article (10) comprising: a rod (12) of aerosol-generating substrate; a mouthpiece element (42) having a length (L1) and comprising a mouthpiece filter segment formed of a fibrous filtration material; and an intermediate hollow section (50) between the rod (12) of aerosol-generating substrate and the mouthpiece element (42), the intermediate hollow section (50) having a length (L2). The intermediate hollow section (50) comprises: an aerosol-cooling element (24) downstream of the rod (12) of aerosol-generating substrate, the aerosol-cooling element (24) comprising a hollow tubular segment (34) defining a longitudinal cavity (36) providing an unrestricted flow channel; and a support element (22) between the aerosol-cooling element (24) and the rod (12) of aerosolgenerating substrate. The upstream end of the aerosol-cooling element abuts the downstream end of the support element. The length (L1) of the mouthpiece element (42) is at least 0.4 times the length (L2) of the intermediate hollow section (50).
