Abstract

The circumferential labyrinth seal of a rotary heat exchanger, arranged in the intermediate annular gap between a rotatably mounted rotor (12) and a stationary housing (13) of the rotary heat exchanger, consists of three equally long flexible and flexible flat profiles, the length of which corresponds to the circumference of the rotor (12). These profiles are: a lower sealing strip (2), the upper sealing strip (3) and a flexible sleeve (1). The lower sealing strip (2) is attached along the edge of the entire circumference of the rotor (12) and is equipped with a first part (10) of a snap-in joint along its entire length. The upper sealing strip (3) is equipped along its entire length with a second part (11) of the snap-on joint, which is inserted into the first part (10) of the snap-on joint of the lower sealing strip (2), whereby both sealing strips (2,3) are situated parallel and define a joint (4) around the entire circumference of the rotor (12). The flexible sleeve (1) is equipped on one side along its entire length with a fastening part (8) and is attached around the entire circumference of the circular opening of the front surface of the stationary casing (13) of the rotary heat exchanger, and on the other side along its entire length with a free end (7), extending into the joint (4) between the lower sealing strip (2) and the upper sealing strip (3). Between the upper sealing strip (3) and the free end (7) of the flexible sleeve (1), as well as between the lower sealing strip (2) and the free end (7) of the flexible sleeve (1), there are arranged 2 to 6 labyrinth blades (5), which are part of the respective sealing strip (2, 3) or the flexible sleeve (1), and run along the entire length of this sealing strip (2, 3) or flexible sleeve (1). The flexible sleeve (1) is equipped with a flexible and flexible expansion element (6), situated along its entire length between the free end (7) and the fastening part (8).
