Abstract

This innovation focuses on both the efficiency of thermal insulation through the reuse of shredded recycled rubber waste from used tires, along with mineral additives, and 3D polystyrene panels in the building sector. The 3D core element shows promise for a variety of structural panel applications, such as walls or slabs in residential buildings. Alternatively, this innovation attempts to evaluate the performance factors of the 3D sandwich system as an alternative to replacing hollow walls and conventional concrete slabs with a partial substitution of sand in concrete by-products such as rubber aggregates and silica fume. Optionally, lightweight 3D sandwich panels with polystyrene offer several advantages such as: reduced energy consumption Q (Q is about 73%) and retain almost the desired mechanical properties of the analyzed object (flexural strength varies from 3 to 6 MPa, compressive strength varies from 19 to 37 MPa).
