Description

[0001] Bracket for stock attachment, which includes a recoil buffer system

[0002] The invention belongs to firearms made on the Kalashnikov (AK) system platform, namely to means of attaching a telescopic stock to a standard receiver that additionally includes a recoil buffer system.

[0003] Due to modernity, ergonomics, and the ability to adjust the length according to the anthropological data of the user, the installation of quick-detachable stocks is quite popular. The installation of such stocks is carried out through a bracket for stock attachment, which is inserted into the standard place of the receiver. The stock attachment bracket is designed to mount quick-detachable stocks made for rifles Ml 6, AR15, AK74, RPK, RPK74, Saiga in calibers 5.45x39, 7.62x39, 5.56x45 and other similar firearms developed on the AK platform.

[0004] The operation of the automatics of firearms leads to the displacement of the weapon from the aiming line when fired, reducing accuracy and complicating weapon handling. This occurs because the extreme positions of the moving parts of the automatics create significant recoil and counter-recoil impulses that are transferred to the body of the weapon, resulting in the generation of corresponding torsional moments. In most cases, to reduce the force of impact of the bolt carrier group on the rear of the receiver, recoil buffers made of elastic materials (rubber, polyurethane, etc.) are used. The recoil buffer is designed to absorb the impact of the bolt carrier group and eliminate metal-to-metal contact. This protects the receiver from damage, prevents intense wear of the buffer tube assembly and guide rails of the bolt carrier group. As an additional effect, it achieves smoother operation of the automatics and reduces the impact of the trigger on the shooter's finger.

[0005] These buffers are installed on the recoil spring of the bolt carrier group and serve as an elastic pad between the bolt carrier group and the rear of the receiver. However, the operation of such buffers shows that they are short-lived, and their main drawback is that they only slightly soften the impact of the carrier group, slow it down, but do not provide it with additional rebound energy. Therefore, the issue of softening the recoil from shots and preventing its displacement from the aiming line, which ensures the stability and accuracy of the weapon when firing, is quite relevant.

[0006] A known stock attachment produced by Strike Industries, USA (https: / / www.strikeindustries.com / si-ak-sa.html), where the inner side of the bracket is in the form of a parallelepiped and has mounting blocks for standard mounting points with holes for attachment, while the outer side of the bracket has a hole with internal threading for securing the telescopic stock tube.

[0007] The well-known stock attachment bracket produced by RIFLE DYNAMICS, USA (https: / / rifledynamics.com / ak-to-m4-stock-adapter / ), is made up of two separate elements that, when combined, form the structure of the stock attachment bracket. The inner side of the bracket has a mounting block for standard connecting points with a threaded hole for fastening to the receiver with a screw, while the outer side of the bracket has a hole with internal threading for attaching the pipe of a telescopic stock and a recess for securing the sling swivel.

[0008] The closest analogue to the proposed invention is the stock attachment bracket described in the utility model patent No RU 174607 "Firearm stock attachment bracket" (No2017110062; application date 27.03.2017; publication: 23.10.2017, bulletin No30, author: Morozov Pavel Vladimirovich (RU); patent holder: LLC "ARMAKON" (RU)), which is implemented as the "Monolith" telescopic stock adapter in various modifications (https: / / armacon.su / catalog / stock-adapters / ). The stock attachment bracket with an internal surface designed for installation inside the receiver box, featuring a mounting block for standard connecting points on the upper surface, including a threaded hole for fastening to the receiver with a screw and a lower rail for attaching a T-shaped nut. The outer side of the bracket has a hole with internal threading for attaching the pipe of a telescopic stock and a recess for securing the sling swivel.

[0009] One embodiment of this stock attachment bracket includes a solid design with a blind hole for attaching the telescopic stock pipe. The manufacturer offers this version as the "Monolith-4" telescopic stock adapter, which serves as the prototype.

[0010] The drawbacks of the mentioned stock attachment brackets, including the prototype, are that they do not distribute the energy of the bolt carrier group during firing, causing the bolt carrier group to impact the receiver, resulting in strong recoil into the stock. This leads to instability in firearm operation and decreases accuracy when firing.

[0011] The goal of the invention is to create an improved stock attachment bracket design that will ensure the stability and accuracy of the firearm during firing by redistributing the energy of the bolt carrier group and minimizing the displacement of the weapon from the aiming line.

[0012] This objective is achieved by incorporating a recoil buffer system into the stock attachment bracket with an inner side for installation inside the receiver box. The bracket includes a mounting block for standard connection points, a threaded hole on the upper surface for fastening to the receiver, and a lower rail for attaching a T-shaped nut. The outer side of the bracket features a hole with internal threading for attaching the telescopic stock pipe, a blind design, and a recess for securing a sling swivel. Additionally, the bracket includes a guide for a recoil spring located on the upper part of the inner side, and the recoil buffer system positioned in a through hole on the stock attachment bracket at the level of the bolt carrier tail. The recoil buffer system consists of a spring-loaded rod installed in a casing, featuring at least one limiting groove and a key-fixator for securing the guide and the recoil buffer system, in the form of a P-like clamp with at least one limiting protrusion that can slide along wing shaped retaining protrusions located on both sides of the inner side of the stock attachment bracket. In an alternative embodiment of the invention, the spring-loaded rod in the casing is fixed with a travel restriction pin.

[0013] One of the versions of the invention, when implementing the aforementioned options, the stock attachment bracket additionally includes a mechanism for fixing a rail for mounting additional accessories and / or a cover of the barrel box, located above relative to the longitudinal axis of the outer side of the stock attachment bracket, in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with lateral faces, the end face on the inner side of the stock attachment bracket is made solid, the end face on the outer side of the stock attachment bracket has a protrusion for fixing the rail for mounting additional accessories and / or the cover of the barrel box. At the top end of the fixing mechanism, there is at least one hole where a push button fixator is installed, which protrudes upwards and is supported by a pressure spring placed in a longitudinal cylindrical recess of the stock attachment bracket.

[0014] The common features of the invention and the closest analogue are that the stock attachment bracket, has an inner side of the bracket intended for installation inside the barrel box, which has mounting blocks for standard attachment points, a threaded hole on the upper surface for attaching to the buttstock with a screw, and a groove in the lower part for attaching a T-shaped nut, and the outer side of the bracket, which has a hole with internal thread for fastening the tubular telescopic stock, is solid, and a recess for locking the sling swivel.

[0015] The technical result of the invention is that the proposed technical solution softens recoil by absorbing the energy of the bolt carrier's recoil, which is absorbed by the return spring, thereby increasing the stability and accuracy of the firearm during shooting. Additionally, the buffer system prevents the bolt carrier from hitting the barrel box's rear and, by compressing the spring, accumulates and releases energy back to the bolt carrier for its energetic movement towards the shooter, reducing the deviation of the firearm from the aiming line. Furthermore, the proposed technical solution completely eliminates the impact collisions of the bolt carrier with elements of the barrel box during recoil, which increases the reliability and reduces wear of the firearm, allows for the compact installation and secure fixation of the guide rod and recoil buffer system in the stock attachment bracket, simplifies the design of the guide rod, adjusts the recoil comfort using variable springs in the recoil buffer system of different stiffness, enhances the reliability of the firearm's operation in case of weapon contamination. By eliminating the impact collisions of the bolt carrier with the elements of the barrel box, the reliability and wear of the firearm are increased.

[0016] The proposed stock attachment bracket eliminates the aforementioned drawbacks of analogs and solves the set task. The essence of the invention, its implementation, and the possibility of industrial application are explained through the drawings.

[0046] The causal relationship between the set of features claimed, the technical result achieved, can be summarized as follows:

[0047] The bracket for stock attachment (Fig. 1) has an inner surface (bracket side 1) intended for installation inside the barrel box, which includes a mounting block for standard connection points 2. The top surface has a threaded hole for screw attachment to the stock 3 and a groove for securing a T-shaped nut on the lower part 4.

[0048] The stock attachment bracket also features an outer surface (bracket side 5) with an internally threaded hole for securing the telescopic stock pipe 6, designed to be flush-mounted, and a recess for securing the sling swivel 7 (Fig. 5). The internally threaded hole for securing the telescopic stock pipe 6 may be located on the upper part of the outer surface of the bracket 5, above the mounting block for standard connection points 2 of the inner surface of the bracket 1 (not shown). This positioning of the internally threaded hole for securing the telescopic stock pipe allows for raising the stock line, which is an extension of the bolt carrier group movement, and enables the use of optical sights without cheek risers. The internal thread designed for securing the telescopic stock pipe is predominantly sized at 1-13 / 16-16 UN.

[0049] At the top of the inner side of the bracket 1 , there is a groove for installing the reverse spring guide 8 and a recoil buffer system 9. The recoil buffer system 9 is located in a through hole of the stock attachment bracket 10 at the bolt carrier tail position, below the groove for installing the reverse spring guide 8 (Fig. 2). The recoil buffer system 9 is designed as a spring-loaded rod 11, installed in a casing sleeve 12, with the spring-loaded rod having at least one limiting notch 13.

[0050] For reliable fixation of the guide of the recoil spring 15 and the recoil buffer system 9, a locking key 14 is used. The locking key 14 is designed as a P-shaped bracket with at least one limiting projection 16 (Fig. 4).

[0051] On the inner side of the stock attachment bracket 1, wing shaped fixing projections 17 are located on both sides, intended for the installation and sliding along them of the locking key 14. The limiting projection 16 of the locking key allows the locking key 14 to be fixed in the wing shaped fixing projections 17.

[0052] In one embodiment, a spring-loaded rod is placed in a casing-sleeve and can be fixed with a stroke limiting pin 18.

[0053] In one of the versions of the invention, when implementing the listed options above, the stock attachment bracket may contain a rail fixation mechanism for mounting additional accessories and / or a barrel box cover 19 (Fig. 3). The rail fixation mechanism for mounting additional accessories and / or a barrel box cover 19 is located above the longitudinal axis of the external side of the stock attachment bracket, in the form of a rectangular parallelepiped with lateral faces. The end face from the inner side of the stock attachment bracket is solid, and the end face from the external side of the stock attachment bracket has a projection for fixing the rail for mounting additional accessories and / or the barrel box cover. At least one hole is made on the top face of the fixation mechanism, in which a spring-loaded locking button 20 is installed, protruding upward, which rests on the installed compressive spring 21 placed in a longitudinal cylindrical recess of the stock attachment bracket. The locking button 20 can be locked with a pin 23.

[0054] The stock attachment bracket is used as follows (Fig. 6):

[0055] Remove the standard stock. Unscrew the handle mounting screw and remove the T-shaped nut. Install the stock attachment bracket in the receiver. Insert the casingsleeve 12 with the spring-loaded rod 11 into the through hole of the stock attachment bracket 10. The spring-loaded rod 11 can be additionally secured with a stroke limiting pin 18. Insert the guide of the recoil spring 15 into the slot for installation of the guide. Then take the locking key 14 and insert it along the wing shaped fixing projections 17, securely fastening it to the stock attachment bracket. Install the T-shaped nut in the stock attachment bracket, tighten the handle mounting screw. Insert the screw into the threaded hole for attachment to the buttstock plate located on the top surface of the stock mounting block and tighten it. Insert the telescopic stock tube into the hole with internal threads for attaching the buttstock tube, which is located on the external surface of the stock attachment bracket, insert the telescopic stock tube and screw the threaded part. Insert the latch into the recess for the buttstock fixing and fix it with a rotating lock. Tighten the latch with a lock nut to fix the position of the stock tube.

[0056] If the stock attachment bracket has a rail fixation mechanism for mounting additional accessories and / or a barrel box cover 19, take the rail for mounting additional accessories and / or the barrel box cover and engage it with the protrusions on the fixation mechanism, pulling it along the barrel box so that the opposite side of the rail is positioned in the stock position of the barrel box, and the locking button enters the hole on the rail for mounting additional accessories and / or the barrel box cover and securely fixes it due to the compressive spring. Additionally, the locking button can be fixed with a pin. For this, insert a pin through the through holes of the lateral faces and the through hole of the locking button.

[0057] The proposed design works as follows: During firing, the bolt carrier moves backward, compressing the recoil spring fitted on the guide of the recoil spring 15, and its tail strikes the spring-loaded buffer rod 11 of the recoil buffer system. Due to the energy of the bolt carrier, the recoil spring on the guide of the recoil spring 15 and the recoil buffer system spring 9 are successively compressed.

[0058] In this process, the main energy of the bolt carrier recoil is absorbed by the recoil spring, and the recoil buffer system prevents the bolt carrier from striking the rear of the receiver, softening the recoil from the shot. By compression, the buffer system absorbs and accumulates energy from the recoil and transfers it back to the bolt carrier for its energetic movement toward the chamber.

[0059] Thus, the new features interacting with the known features provide the achievement of a unified technical result, as a result of which the invention discloses an improved design of a bracket for attaching the buttstock, which in addition to performing the main function - attaching the buttstock, also includes a recoil buffer system. By softening the recoil through absorbing the bolt carrier energy rebound, which is absorbed by the return spring, the weapon's stability during firing and its accuracy is increased. At the same time, the buffer system reduces the displacement of the weapon from the aiming line, since it prevents the bolt carrier from hitting the rear of the barrel, and releases energy in the opposite direction by compressing the spring for the energetic movement of the bolt carrier towards the chamber.

[0060] After describing the best implementation of this invention, it is evident that various modifications within the scope of the disclosed formula are possible.
