Abstract
The invention relates to a method for determining the spontaneous migration capability of amoeboid motile cells, comprising the following steps: - providing a migration device (1) comprising a sample chamber (2) and a migration matrix (3) arranged in the sample chamber (2); - introducing a sample liquid (6) containing the amoeboid motile cells into the sample chamber (2), wherein the sample liquid (6) is applied to the migration matrix (3); - incubating the sample liquid (6) in the sample chamber (2), whereby migration of the amoeboid motile cells into the migration matrix (3) takes place; - performing an optical analysis of the migration of the amoeboid motile cells through the migration matrix (3);wherein the migration device (1) is configured and the process parameters are selected such that the volumetric flow rate of the sample liquid (6) through the migration matrix (3), with which the sample liquid (6) penetrates the migration matrix (3), is at least 150 nL / (min*mm²) within the first 20 seconds after substantially complete wetting of the migration matrix (3). The invention further relates to a migration device (1) for use in this process.
