Abstract
Description
1 / 8 Anti-theft device for car wheels and an insertion structure for the same. FIELD OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present disclosure relates to a technology for preventing the unauthorized removal of wheels from vehicles. More specifically, the disclosure relates to a simplified universal anti-theft device that prevents unauthorized access to wheel fasteners. More specifically, the disclosure relates to an insertion structure for an anti-theft device. BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0002] The unauthorized removal of car parts, specifically alloy wheels, is a frequent problem worldwide. Due to their high value, custom wheels and tire rims are examples of frequently stolen items. Consequently, there is a great need for devices and techniques to protect wheels from unauthorized removal.
[0003] There have been attempts to provide this protection. For example, patent numbers US8739585 and US8943865 disclose anti-theft devices for car wheels. These devices can be removed with relative ease by an experienced thief and therefore do not provide a truly reliable wheel lock. US patent 9,689,180 granted to the inventors of this application provides a device that provides a secure anti-theft device; however, the device requires a relatively large number of parts. Other locking devices are provided in US patents 11,541,686 and 11,524,522 to the inventors of this application. Both devices require a two-part insertion structure for insertion into the wheel. Considering the wide variety of car makes and models worldwide, there is a need for an improved wheel locking system that fits, without substantial adjustments, most car wheels.Furthermore, there is a need for a system with fewer parts than known solutions in order to reduce production costs. Petition 870250084575, dated 09 / 19 / 2025, page 15 / 34 2 / 8 and increased durability. With less component modification for different car models, it would also be easier. SUMMARY

DESCRIPTION OF THE FIGURES
[0013] The invention is described herein by means of the accompanying drawings in which:
[0014] Figure 1 illustrates an exploded view of an anti-theft device for preventing unauthorized access to the wheel fasteners of a vehicle comprising all the components of an embodiment of the locking device. The figure shows a cylinder lock (101) configured to be locked to a central bolt (103) configured to secure the insertion structure (including the insertion ring 106 and the support structure 107) to the wheel. A locking cap (102) may be included in the device and adapted to be fixed to the main module (105). An insertion sleeve (104) is adapted to be inserted into the main module (105) which is configured to cover the nuts and bolts securing the wheel to the vehicle. The support structure in this embodiment is a separate element, but in certain embodiments the support structure may be incorporated in a fixed manner into the insertion ring.
[0015] Figure 2 illustrates a perspective view of the insertion structure placed in the central hole (111) of a wheel. The insertion structure is formed by the insertion ring (106) and the support structure (107). The figure shows the central hole (109) of the insertion ring. The support structure in this embodiment Petition 870250084575, dated 09 / 19 / 2025, page 19 / 34 6 / 8 comprises two loop-type elements (107A) extending outward from the outer circumference of the insertion ring. The button (108) on the upper surface of the insertion ring is shown.
[0016] Figure 3 illustrates a cross-sectional view of the insertion structure comprising the insertion ring (106) and the support structure (107) placed in the central hole (111) of a wheel. In this embodiment, the insertion ring is thinner at the elongated ends, so that the inner walls (110) of the insertion ring form a long threaded cylinder to secure the central screw (element 103 in Figure 1). The support structure (107) in this embodiment is a wire rod having an intermediate section (107B shown in Figure 5) fitted under the insertion ring around the outer surface of the threaded cylinder of the insertion ring. According to other embodiments, there may be a groove on the underside of the insertion ring adapted to receive the intermediate section of the wire rod. The elongated insertion ring may be oval in shape, but it may also have some other elongated shape. It may be symmetrical or asymmetrical.
[0017] Figure 4 illustrates a top perspective view of the insertion structure. Here, the inner walls of the insertion ring are shown as being threaded. The upper side of the insertion structure has a button (108) that fits into a cavity of the main module (element 5 in Figure 1) to align the insertion structure. The insertion ring (106) has an elongated outer circumference (117) defined by a short diameter and a long diameter. The elongated ends of the insertion ring are indicated as element 112. The support structure in this embodiment is a wire rod that has two looped ends (107A) opposite each other on the sides of the ring defined by the short diameter.
[0018] Figure 5 shows an exploded view of the insertion structure according to certain embodiments. The support structure (107) here is a wire bar having two loop-like ends (107A) and a curved intermediate section (107B). The insertion ring has two grooves (113) on the outer circumference opposite each other on the sides of the ring defined by the diameter. Petition 870250084575, dated 09 / 19 / 2025, page 20 / 34 7 / 8 short. The support structure is configured to be fixed to the insertion ring so that the loop-like ends (107A) extend out of the grooves (113) and the curved intermediate section (107B) is under the insertion ring around the outer surface of the threaded cylinder of the insertion ring or within a groove in the bottom of the insertion ring.
[0019] Figure 6 shows the installation of the insert structure in the vehicle wheel. The insert structure (insert ring 106 and support structure 107) is inclined at a downward angle so that an elongated end (112) can be slid under the wheel hub wall (114). By pushing the insert structure deeper, the opposite elongated end can be slid under the wheel hub wall (114). The support structure (here a wire rod with looped ends and an intermediate section around the outside of the tubular area of the threaded cylinder of the insert ring) is configured to fall on the edge (115 in Figure 7) of the wheel hole and thus prevent the insert structure from falling into the hole.
[0020] Figure 7 shows the insert structure in place. The elongated ends (112) of the insert ring are against the inner side of the wheel hub wall (114) preventing the insert structure from being pulled out of place. The support structure sits on the edge of the central hole (115) preventing the insert structure from falling out or being pushed into the central hole. The button (108) points outwards and is configured to fit into a cavity in the main module (105) so that when the main module is mounted in place, the central hole (109) of the insert ring is aligned with the axis of rotation of the vehicle wheel and enabling the threading of the insert ring and the threading of the locking bolt to match each other.
