Description

1 / 5 CONSTRUCTIONAL ARRANGEMENT APPLIED IN A HYBRID BARBECUE GRILL Technological sector of the Utility Model

[001] This Utility Model pertains to the barbecue equipment sector, specifically barbecues that combine the use of charcoal and / or gas. State of the art

[002] Grills that use charcoal or gas as a heat source have distinct characteristics that cater to different preferences and needs. Charcoal grills are widely popular for imparting a characteristic smoky flavor to food, highly valued in traditional cooking methods. However, this type of grill has significant technical challenges, such as the prolonged heating time required, less precise temperature control, and high smoke emission, which can be a problem in urban areas or enclosed spaces. Furthermore, waste management, such as ash, can make cleaning and maintenance difficult.

[003] On the other hand, gas grills stand out for their convenience and precise temperature control, which facilitates the even cooking of food. This type of grill is ideal for those seeking practicality, as it eliminates the need to deal with charcoal or ashes. However, they depend on a constant source of gas, such as cylinders or piped gas, which can be an obstacle in remote locations or during long periods of use if the supply is insufficient.

[004] Although both methods have clear advantages, it is difficult to find grills that efficiently combine the benefits of charcoal and gas. For example, patent document MU9000089-7 discloses a charcoal grill with a gas option using an infrared burner; document BR 202019017535-0 discloses a hybrid grill containing an electric or gas burner; and document MU 8602957-6 discloses a grill that works with gas, charcoal, or electric resistance. Petition 870250053586, dated 06 / 26 / 2025, p. 5 / 10 2 / 5 Utility Model Updates

[005] The Utility Model presents an innovative solution in the barbecue grill segment, combining the advantages of charcoal and gas in a single, highly versatile and functional device. Through high-efficiency infrared burners, the Utility Model provides precise temperature control, allowing for quick and even cooking of food, while reducing energy consumption and smoke emission when used in gas mode. Furthermore, it has a gas backflow prevention safety valve to prevent the user from forgetting to close the valve and leaking gas. After a certain flow rate, the valve closes the system.

[006] With a lifting system consisting of up to four self-locking levels, the Utility Model allows for the simultaneous cooking of different foods, adapting to the user's needs in a practical and efficient manner. The smoker kit, which shares the same locking system as the lifting kit, expands functionality by incorporating a smoking lid, adding a characteristic flavor to foods prepared in charcoal mode.

[007] Constructed from 304 stainless steel with a brushed finish, the Utility Model features high durability, corrosion resistance, and a sophisticated design. It also includes Uruguayan grates, ideal for grease drainage, and a refractory brick core that optimizes heat retention and distribution. Furthermore, the central exhaust system facilitates cleaning, simplifying daily use.

[008] The barbecue grill is available in different models — countertop, niche, and built-in — making it adaptable to various environments and preferences. With its flexibility, practicality, and high-quality materials, the Utility Model redefines the outdoor cooking experience, offering a solution that effectively combines tradition and modernity. Description of the attached drawings

[009] In order for the present model to be fully understood and put into practice by any technician in this technological sector, it will be described as follows Petition 870250053586, dated 06 / 26 / 2025, page 6 / 10 3 / 5 in a clear, concise and sufficient manner, based on the attached drawings, which illustrate and support it, listed below: Figure 1 represents the exploded perspective view of the barbecue grill with the lifting kit; Figure 2 represents a side view in section of the barbecue grill; Figure 3 represents a perspective view of the barbecue grill in the countertop model, highlighting the assembly and compaction of the utensils; Figure 4 represents a perspective view of the barbecue grill in the niche model; Figure 5 represents a perspective view of the barbecue grill in the built-in model; Detailed description of the Utility Model

[010] As shown in Figure 1, the hybrid barbecue grill is constructed with a 3 / 16” thick 304 stainless steel sheet (1) on the top, with a brushed finish, a grill (7), and a two-tier lifting kit (6). The brazier (2), made of 304 stainless steel, is lined with refractory bricks (12) and has two infrared burners (3). The gas flow is controlled by a low-pressure valve (8). In charcoal mode, the burners are covered by lids (9), and the brazier is filled with charcoal. A central exhaust point (10) allows for the cleaning of dirt and grease, directing the residue to an external dispenser; above it is a basin (11) for placing water when using the gas burner. The grill (7) is integrated into the lifting kit (6), and has supports (7.1) for the food that are fitted into the levels (6.2) of the tower (6.1). Model 1 - Countertop

[011] To access gas mode, it is necessary to connect the gas supply from the rear of the grill. It is mandatory that the gas supply be carried out for low pressures, as specified by the ABNT NBR 13723 standard. The heater covers (9) must be removed and stored in an appropriate place, exposing the two heaters (3) in the brazier (1).

[012] In the self-ignition model, simply turn the valve (8), allowing gas flow to at least halfway, and activate the ignition spark. In the non-self-ignition model, it is necessary to remove the grille (7), turn the valve (8) Petition 870250053586, dated 06 / 26 / 2025, page 7 / 10 4 / 5 to release the gas flow to at least half the stroke and then bring a flame source, such as a match or lighter, close to the front of the burner. After activating the burners, the grate (7) should be repositioned in the appropriate location.

[013] To install the lifting kit (6), it is necessary to remove the grill (7) and fit it into the top cover (1), as illustrated in Figure 2. Model 2 - Niche

[014] As shown in Figure 3, the niche model is ideal for locations where you want to keep the barbecue grill permanently installed, using the top plate (1) and the front plate (4), excluding the bottom plate (5). The operation of this model maintains the same criteria as the countertop model, ensuring practicality and efficiency in use. Model 3 - Built-in

[015] As shown in Figure 4, the built-in model is ideal for locations where you want to keep the barbecue grill permanently installed, centered on a countertop. In this case, only the front plate (4) and the bottom plate (5) are excluded, while the top plate (1) remains. The countertop that will receive the installation must follow the specified dimensions, preferably 65 x 45 cm. The operation of this model follows the same criteria as the countertop model.

[016] For each barbecue grill installed, it is mandatory to perform a gas leak test on all pipes, from the supply point to the heaters. The entire system is designed to operate at low pressures, as required by ABNT NBR 13723. After complete verification of the leak at all points, the barbecue grill can be activated in gas mode.

[017] In addition, it is necessary to position the basin (11) inside the brazier (2) with a 2cm stream of water at the height indicated by the marking (not illustrated). This procedure is intended to prevent flare-ups that can be caused by grease coming into direct contact with the burners (3).

[018] The burners (3) can reach high temperatures during use and, for this reason, should be kept out of the reach of children in order to avoid Petition 870250053586, dated 06 / 26 / 2025, page 8 / 10 5 / 5 potential burns and ensure safety during grill operation.

[019] It is important to emphasize that the figures and descriptions provided are not intended to limit the ways in which the inventive concept now proposed can be implemented, but rather to illustrate and make understandable the conceptual innovations revealed in this solution. Thus, the descriptions and images should be interpreted in an illustrative and not limiting way, and there may be other equivalent or analogous ways of implementing the inventive concept now revealed that do not fall outside the scope of protection outlined in the proposed solution.
