Abstract
Description
Technical Field
[0001] The present invention relates to a test strip code reading device applied to an analyte detection device, and more particularly to a test strip code reading device having an integrally formed activation component and capable of reading codes. Background Art
[0002] A device used to measure physiological parameters (such as blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, blood ketone concentration or pH value) performs measurements on physiological samples placed on a test strip under default device conditions. Some test strip code reading devices can perform different types of measurements on physiological samples on the test strip or confirm the calibration factor corresponding to the test strip according to the different codes of each test strip.
[0003] In order to allow the test strip code reading device to confirm different types of measurements or to achieve anti-counterfeiting effects, a coding area can be formed at a certain position on the lower surface of the test strip, and the coding area is a coding layout containing multiple coding elements, and each of the coding elements has a coding factor. The specific code formed according to the combination of different coding factors is used to determine the measurement type of the test strip or the correction factor corresponding to the test strip. For example, the coding area on the lower surface of the test strip has a coding layout formed by multiple holes, and the combination of the depth of each hole determines different coding factors. Therefore, the analyte measurement module forms a specific code according to the combination of various different coding factors to determine the specific measurement type of the specimen on the test strip or the correction factor corresponding to the test strip.
[0004] Specifically, before measuring the sample from the test strip, the test strip code reading device first reads the specific code formed by these holes for decoding to identify the type of test strip, so that the test strip sample reading device selects the appropriate measurement configuration and can also have an anti-counterfeiting function.
[0005] The known test piece code reading device is configured in its operating slot, with an array-type conductive elastic member composed of a conductive part and an elastic retractable member, which presses against the start-up member above it through a barrier member, so that the start-up member can be closely attached to the inner surface of each hole in the coding area on the lower surface of the test piece. When there is a protrusion on the inner surface of the hole, the start-up member is pushed downward, so that the conductive part is separated from the grounding member, causing the circuit formed by the array-type conductive elastic member and the conductive area on the circuit board to be disconnected; when there is no protrusion on the inner surface of the hole, the start-up member will not be pushed downward, and the conductive part and the grounding member will remain in contact, so that the aforementioned circuit remains conductive. Therefore, according to whether there is a protrusion on the inner surface of the hole to push the start-up member downward or not, whether the circuit between the array-type conductive elastic member and the grounding point is conductive, the code formed by the inner surfaces of multiple holes on the lower surface of the test piece is confirmed.
[0006] However, in the known test strip code reading device disclosed in, for example, US10718752B2, each component is an independent and separate component, which is arranged in each operating slot. Although a barrier component is provided, since each barrier component only provides contamination protection for each operating slot, there is still a risk that the specimen sample enters the interior of the analyte measurement module through the gap between the operating slot and the components therein, thereby increasing the chance of contamination.
[0007] Furthermore, the activation components and barrier components in the aforementioned conventional test piece code reading device are also separate components, and the code reading device must be equipped with the same number of activation components and barrier components as the number of holes on the test piece, which also causes a burden of material preparation. In addition, the activation components and barrier components are also small components, which also leads to cumbersome and time-consuming assembly operations. Summary of the invention
[0008] In order to overcome the problems existing in the known test piece code reading device, it is particularly necessary to take into account the accuracy of the judgment and improve the convenience of assembly. [0009] According to another aspect of the present invention, an analyte detection device is provided for receiving a test strip for performing analyte detection, comprising: a test strip code reading device, comprising: a test strip carrier for receiving the test strip; a first conductive component, serving as a shared terminal for multiple coding signals; multiple second conductive components, configured to be in contact or separation with the first conductive component; and an activation component, having a main body and multiple protrusions, wherein the main body is used to prevent the first conductive component from being contaminated by external factors, and determines whether the first conductive component and each second conductive component are in contact or separation to interpret the code of the test strip by determining whether each protrusion is actuated for the test strip; an upper cover, disposed above the test strip reading device, which can selectively shield the top surface of the test strip carrier; and a lower cover, disposed below the test strip reading device, to shield the bottom surface of the test strip reading device.
[0010] According to another aspect of the present invention, an analyte detection device is provided for detecting analytes in biological specimens through a test strip, wherein the test strip has a coding layout, and the coding layout has multiple coding elements. The analyte detection device includes: a device body; multiple upper operating members, which are arranged in the device body and correspond to the multiple coding elements respectively; multiple lower operating members, which are arranged in the device body and correspond to the multiple upper operating members respectively, and the coding layout is determined by the cooperation of the multiple upper operating members and the multiple lower operating members; and an anti-fouling component, which is arranged in the device body and between the multiple upper operating members and the multiple lower operating members, and the anti-fouling component and the multiple upper operating members are integrally formed to form a one-piece component, wherein the one-piece component has a periphery, even if the biological specimen overflows in the analyte detection device, the possible influence of the biological specimen on the determination is isolated. [0022] The following provides detailed embodiments of the test strip code reading device and the analyte detection device of the present invention with reference to the drawings.
[0023] To improve the problems of the prior art, the present invention provides the following embodiments.
[0024] See also Figure 1 , which is a schematic diagram of the structure of the test strip and the test strip code reading device of the present invention. The test strip code reading device 20 of the present invention includes a test strip carrier 202, a base body 201, a starting component 204, a first conductive component 205, a positioning portion 203, a second conductive component 206, a second conductive elastic component 207, a first conductive elastic component 209 and a circuit board 208, and the above components are assembled and locked with screws 210. The test strip 22 will be inserted into the test strip code reading device 20 to interpret the test strip code. The test strip 22 has a positioning hole 222 and an electrode, and the electrode includes an electrode active surface (not shown) and a signal output terminal 223, and the electrode material of the electrode is preferably gold, for example The materials used in blood test strips, combined with embedded gold electrode test strip technology ( The test piece 22 has an upper surface 224 and a lower surface (not shown). The lower surface of the test piece 22 has a plurality of coding corresponding areas 2201. Each coding corresponding area 2201 is a coding element, which is presented as a flat surface 2203 or an indented groove 2202 (such as Fig. 6A , 6BAs shown in the figure, the combination of multiple flat surfaces 2203 or indented grooves 2202 on the lower surface of the test strip 22 forms a coding area to determine the coding layout of the test strip 22. In another embodiment, the coding corresponding area 2201 is not limited to being embodied in the form of a flat surface or an indented groove, but can also be other corresponding forms. In another embodiment, multiple coding corresponding areas 2201 can also be set on the upper surface 224 of the test strip 22. The test strip code reading device 20 of the present invention can detect the type of analyte (such as blood sugar, cholesterol, uric acid, blood ketone concentration or pH value) in a biological specimen (such as blood) through the test strip 22 or confirm the correction factor corresponding to the test strip.
[0025] See also Figure 2 , which is a partial cross-sectional view of the start component in the test piece code reading device of the present invention. The start component 204 of the present invention is an integrally formed array-type raised elastic sheet, which is arranged between the base body 201 and the first conductive component 205, and can cooperate with the test piece 22 to perform decoding operations, and can also prevent dust and pollutants from entering the operating groove 2031 of the positioning part 203. The start component 204 includes a body 2042 and a plurality of raised parts 2041, each of which has an upper end 2045 and a lower end 2046, and the position of the upper end 2045 corresponds to each coding corresponding area 2201, and an elastic ring 2043 and a horizontal ring 2044 are arranged between the lower end 2046 and the surface of the body 2042, and the elastic ring 2043 is connected to the body 2042 and the horizontal ring 2044, and the horizontal ring 2044 is connected to the elastic ring 2043 and the lower end 2046 of each raised part 2041. The elastic ring 2043 has an inclined angle, so that there is a gap 2047 below each protrusion 2041, so that the lower end 2046 of the protrusion 2041 can be repeatedly pressed through the gap 2047. By controlling the thickness of the elastic ring 2043, for example, between 0.05 and 0.3 mm, preferably 0.07 to 0.2 mm, and more preferably 0.09 to 0.15 mm, the starter assembly 204 can ensure a lifespan of at least 1 million times of repeated pressing, or even more than 10 million times of rebound force without cracking. The use of such a starter assembly in the field also provides a lifespan and reliability that are difficult to match in the industry, and each protrusion 2041 can be subjected to force individually without being affected by the adjacent protrusion 2041, so as not to cause the reading of the wrong test piece code. The elastic ring 2043 and the horizontal ring 2044 around the protrusion 2041 can reduce the downward force required by the elastic ring 2043. The upper end 2045 of each protrusion 2041 has a flat surface of 0.2mm to 0.5mm, preferably 0.3mm to 0.5mm, so that the flat surface of the test piece 22 can effectively contact when pressed to prevent the protrusion 2041 from tilting and falling, so as to help the test piece code reading device 20 to operate effectively.
[0026] The start-up component 204 of the present invention is not only used for decoding and starting, but also miniaturizes the overall volume of the test piece code reading device 20, reduces the number of parts, reduces the thickness, reduces the assembly process, and has anti-fouling and / or dust-proof properties. The multiple protrusions 2041, the horizontal ring 2044, the elastic ring 2043 and the main body 2042 of the start-up component 204 are integrally formed. The start-up component 204 must have an elastic material, and the material is selected from rubber, silicone, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), such as thermoplastic rubber (TPR), thermoplastic vulcanized rubber (TPV), thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) or thermoplastic polyester elastomer (TPEE), preferably silicone.
[0027] The starting component 204 can be made of a material with a Shore A hardness of 60 to 80 degrees, preferably 70 degrees, so that each protrusion 2041 is not easily deformed when under pressure, and the thickness of the elastic ring 2043 is controlled between 0.05 and 0.3 mm, preferably 0.07 to 0.2 mm, and more preferably between 0.09 and 0.15 mm. The horizontal ring 2044 around the elastic ring 2043 and the protrusion 2041 can reduce the downward pressure and rebound force required for the elastic ring 2043, so that the protrusion 2041 has a suitable elasticity / hardness coefficient as the starting component 204, so as to correspond to the flat surface 2203 or the indented groove 2202 of the coding area of the test piece 22 to start decoding.
[0028] Please refer to the combined Figure 1 , 3A 3B, the test piece carrier 202 of the test piece code reading device 20 has a test piece slot 221 for accommodating the test piece 22. The test piece carrier 202 is connected to a test piece introduction and export device (not shown). The base body 201 has a plurality of operation holes 2011. Figure 3A A partial schematic diagram showing the insertion of the test strip 22 into some components of the test strip code reading device 20. After the start component 204 is combined with the base body 201, the upper ends 2045 of the multiple protrusions 2041 of the start component 204 will pass through the multiple operation holes 2011 of the base body 201 and be exposed. When the test strip 22 is to be read, the test strip 22 will be inserted into the entrance of the test strip slot 221 in the Y direction. After the test strip introduction and export device guides the test strip 22 to a predetermined position in the test strip slot 221, the test strip 22 is pressed down in the direction indicated by the arrow. The first positioning column 2013 of the base body 201 will correspond to the positioning hole 222 of the test strip 22 for positioning, so that the coding area of the test strip 22 can correctly contact the start component 204 (such as Figure 3BAs shown). The first positioning column 2013 of the base body 201 and the positioning hole 222 of the test strip 22 provide a positioning mechanism for the test strip 22 to avoid inserting the wrong test strip or inserting the test strip in the wrong way, so as to improve the measurement efficiency. The test strip import and export device can also control the test strip 22 to automatically insert or withdraw from the test strip slot 221, thereby avoiding the test strip 22 from accidentally causing abnormal pushing and friction between the test strip 22 and the entrance of the test strip slot 221 when the test strip 22 is manually inserted into or pulled out of the test strip slot 221. After the test strip 22 enters the test strip carrier 202, pressing down again can make the multiple protrusions 2041 of the starting component 204 almost friction-free and lateral contact interference, so that the height of the multiple protrusions 2041 will not be reduced due to wear. In another embodiment, the test strip code reading device 20 may not need to be equipped with a test strip import and export device, and the user manually inserts the test strip 20 into the test strip slot 221 for code reading.
[0029] Please refer to the combined Figure 1 , 4 and 5A, of which Figure 4 2 is a cross-sectional diagram of the relative positions of the test strip and the test strip code reading device, which shows a cross-sectional diagram of the test strip code reading device in the Y direction. The base body 201 is disposed below the test strip carrier 202. The base body 201 has a plurality of second positioning posts 2012, and the positioning portion 203 further has a plurality of positioning grooves 2032. The second positioning posts 2012 are embedded in the positioning grooves 2032 to fix the position of the base body 201 in the positioning portion 203. In addition, each of the second positioning posts 2012 passes through a plurality of positioning through holes 2048 of the start component 204 and a plurality of positioning through holes 2052 of the first conductive component 205 and is embedded in each of the positioning grooves 2032 to fix the positions of the base body 201, the start component 204, the first conductive component 205 and the positioning portion 203 relative to each other.
[0030] Please refer to the combined Figure 1 , 46A-6B, the positioning part 203 has a plurality of operation slots 2031. The base body 201 has a base body top layer 2010, which covers the start component 204, wherein the positions of the plurality of operation holes 2011 of the base body 201 correspond to the positions of the plurality of code corresponding areas 2201 on the test piece 22, respectively. The start component 204 covers the first conductive component 205, and the upper ends 2045 of each of the protrusions 2041 on the surface of the start component 204 correspond to each of the flat surfaces 2203 or each of the indented grooves 2202 of the plurality of code corresponding areas 2201 of the test piece 22. The upper ends 2045 of each of the protrusions 2041 pass through each of the operation holes 2011 formed by the base body top layer 2010, and the lower ends 2046 of the plurality of protrusions 2041 abut against the second conductive component 206 located in the plurality of operation slots 2031 formed by the positioning part 203. The multiple operation slots 2031 of the positioning portion 203 correspond to the multiple operation holes 2011 of the top layer 2010 of the base body. The first conductive component 205 has a through hole 2051 corresponding to the operation slot 2031, and a portion of the second conductive component 206 passes through the through hole 2051 to abut against the lower end 2046 of the protrusion 2041. The second conductive component 206 is connected to the second conductive elastic component 207 below, and the bottom end of the second conductive elastic component 207 is electrically connected to each second conductive area 2081 of the circuit board 208. The circuit board 208 is disposed at the bottom of the base body 201. The positioning portion 203 can be made of plastic material, the first conductive component 205 is used as a grounding component, the second conductive component 206 is configured as a sphere or a cylinder, and the circuit board 208 can be a printed circuit board (PCB), but is not limited thereto. In the present invention, the multiple protrusions 2041 of the starting component 204 serve as multiple upper operating parts, and the main body 2042 connected to the periphery of the multiple protrusions 2041 of the starting component 204 is an anti-fouling component. Therefore, the anti-fouling component and the multiple upper operating parts are integrally formed as a one-piece component, and the first conductive component 205, the multiple second conductive components 206, and the collection of the multiple second conductive elastic components 207 serve as multiple lower operating parts.
[0031] The first conductive component 205 of the present invention is a one-piece conductive component, so the plurality of second conductive components 206 share a first conductive component 205 to interpret the test strip code. In addition, the diameter of the plurality of second conductive components 206 is greater than the diameter of the plurality of through holes 2051 of the first conductive component 205, so the plurality of second conductive components 206 will pass through the plurality of through holes 2051 of the first conductive component 205 until the plurality of second conductive components 206 contact the first conductive component 205. Therefore, in the loop of the coded signal, the first conductive component 205 serves as a shared end of the plurality of coded signals.
[0032] Please refer to the combined Figure 1 , 5A5B, the base body 201 of the present invention further includes a plurality of third positioning posts. In the embodiment of FIG. 5A of the present invention, there are four third positioning posts 2014A-2014D, wherein the position of one third positioning post 2014D is misaligned with the other three third positioning posts 2014A-2014C, that is, the positions of the four third positioning posts 2014A-2014D are not completely symmetrical. The positioning portion 203 further includes a plurality of positioning grooves 2033 corresponding to the positions of the plurality of third positioning posts 2014A-2014D, the first conductive component 205 further includes a plurality of positioning grooves 2053 corresponding to the positions of the plurality of third positioning posts 2014A-2014D, and the circuit board 208 includes a plurality of positioning through holes 2083 corresponding to the positions of the plurality of third positioning posts 2014A-2014D. The third positioning columns 2014A~2014D of the base body 201 can provide an assembly anti-mistake mechanism and positioning reference (as shown in Figure 5B) when assembling the base body 201, the positioning part 203, the starting component 204, the first conductive component 205 and the circuit board 208 through the multiple positioning grooves 2033 of the positioning part 203, the multiple positioning grooves 2053 of the first conductive component 205 and the multiple positioning through holes 2083 of the circuit board 208.
[0033] Please refer to the combined Figure 2 , 6A and 6B, where Fig. 6A and 6B They are partial cross-sectional views of the test piece when the test piece is inserted into the test piece code reading device in the present invention, when the test piece is not pressed down and when the test piece is pressed down. Fig. 6A In the embodiment, when the test piece introduction and export device does not press the test piece 22, there is a gap 200 between the test piece carrier 202 and the base body 201, and the protrusion 2041 of the starter assembly 204 does not contact the lower surface of the test piece 22. Figure 6B When the test piece introduction and export device presses down the test piece 22, the upper end 2045 of each protrusion 2041 on the surface of the starter assembly 204 abuts against the multiple flat surfaces 2203 on the lower surface of the test piece 22 above it or is accommodated in the inner shrinkage groove 2202. Fig. 6A As can be seen in FIG. 6B , the first conductive component 205 is electrically connected to the first conductive elastic component 209 , and the first conductive elastic component 209 is electrically connected to the first conductive region 2082 .
[0034] When the lower surface of the test piece 22 corresponding to the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 of the starting component 204 is a retracted groove 2202, the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 is received in the retracted groove 2202, so that the protrusion 2041 maintains its original high and low position, so that the second conductive component 206 and the corresponding first conductive component 205 maintain contact. Therefore, the loop from the first conductive area 2082 on the circuit board 208 through multiple first conductive elastic components 209, the first conductive component 205, the second conductive component 206 and the second conductive elastic component 207 to the second conductive area 2081 on the circuit board 208 maintains a conductive state and can be interpreted as a first coding signal.
[0035] When the lower surface of the test piece 22 corresponding to the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 of the starting component 204 is a flat surface 2203, the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 is pressed downward by the flat surface 2203, so that the lower end 2046 of the protrusion 2041 pushes the second conductive component 206 thereunder downward, so that the second conductive component 206 is separated from the corresponding first conductive component 205, and squeezes the second conductive elastic component 207, so that the circuit from the first conductive area 2082 on the circuit board 208 through multiple first conductive elastic components 209, the first conductive component 205, the second conductive component 206 and the second conductive elastic component 207 to the second conductive area 2081 on the circuit board 208 becomes de-energized and can be interpreted as a second coded signal.
[0036] Therefore, the contact or separation state between the second conductive component and the first conductive component is determined by whether the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 of the start component 204 is actuated by the test strip 22 to determine the coding signal. Through the above-mentioned coding judgment method formed by the upper end 2045 of the protrusion 2041 of the start component 204 against the lower surface of the test strip 22 formed by the plurality of flat surfaces 2203 or the indented grooves 2202, the test strip code reading device 20 can read the specific code formed by the combination of the plurality of flat surfaces 2203 or the indented grooves 2202 on the lower surface of the test strip 22 for decoding, so as to identify the coding information carried by the test strip 22, and the coding information is, for example, the test strip type and the calibration factor.
[0037] In addition to abutting against the lower surface of the test strip 22 above it to identify the coding information of the test strip 22, the actuating component 204 completely covers the first conductive component 205, thereby completely preventing contaminants from entering the operating slot 2031 below the top layer 2010 of the base body of the test strip code reading device 20. The surfaces of the first conductive component 205, the second conductive component 206, the first conductive elastic component 209 and the second conductive elastic component 207 of the test strip code reading device 20 of the present invention can be electroplated with gold (Au) to reduce contact impedance, which can effectively improve contact conduction accuracy and greatly increase the frequency of use and life.
[0038] After the protrusions 2041 of the starter assembly 204 are pressed down by the flat surface 2203 of the test piece 22, the height H1 of the protrusions 2041 protruding from the base body 201 after being pressed down is preferably 0.25 mm to 0 mm (the present invention Figure 6B The height H1 in the embodiment is 0 mm), and the force required for the flat surface 2203 of the test piece 22 to press down each protrusion 2041 and the second conductive component 206 to reach the height H1 is 9.9 g to 15.1 g, so that the second conductive component 206 is separated from the corresponding first conductive component 205, and the force required to press down each protrusion 2041 to reach the height H1 is 2.4 g to 4.5 g, so that the code reading mechanism can be effectively executed. The thickness H2 of the base body 201 only needs to be 2.0 to 3.5 mm, so compared with the known code reading device, the overall thickness of the test piece code reading device 20 of the present invention is thinner.
[0039] Please refer to the combined Figure 1 , 2 , 4 and 7, the present invention provides an analyte detection device 30, including a device body 310 and a test strip code reading device 20 disposed in the device body 310. The analyte detection device 30 of the present invention can determine physiological parameters of the coding layout on the test strip 22 by cooperating with multiple upper operating members and multiple lower operating members. The one-piece insulating component of the test strip code reading device 20 has a periphery that can prevent the biological sample from overflowing. Even if the biological sample overflows in the test strip code reading device 20, the possible influence of the biological sample on the analyte determination can still be isolated.
[0040] See also Figure 7, which shows a schematic diagram of the test strip code reading device 20 of the present invention being assembled into a part of a complete analyte detection device 30. The analyte detection device 30 includes a test strip code reading device 20, an upper cover 301 and a lower cover 302. The test strip code reading device 20 itself has a complete test strip code reading function, is basically connected to a power supply (not shown), and has a top surface 211 and a bottom surface 212. When the upper cover 301 and the lower cover 302 of the analyte detection device 30 are assembled with the test strip code reading device 20, the upper cover 301 is arranged above the test strip code reading device 20, and can selectively completely or partially cover the top surface 211 of the test strip code reading device 20 (completely covered in the embodiment of the present invention) to modify the appearance of the front of the analyte detection device 30, and the lower cover 302 is arranged below the test strip code reading device 20, and can cover the bottom surface 212 of the test strip code reading device 20. By configuring the test strip code reading device 20 in the upper cover 301 and the lower cover 302 of the analyte detection device 30, the analyte detection device 30 can have the functions provided by the test strip code reading device 20. Therefore, it is only necessary to use the same test strip code reading device 20, and the upper cover and the lower cover with different appearances can facilitate the manufacturer to produce different analyte detection devices. This method can also take into account the process stability of the analyte detection device and speed up the product development time. In another embodiment, the upper cover 301 or the lower cover 302 can also be formed integrally with the test strip code reading device 20.
[0041] For comparison with existing technologies, please refer to Fig. 6A , 6B It can be seen that the main body 2042 of the starting component 204 of the present invention is integrally formed with the multiple protrusions 2041, and the starting component 204 completely covers the first conductive component 205, while having the functions of coding, dust prevention and anti-fouling. It can achieve the function of the starting component of the known code reading device to press against the test piece to read the code, and can complete the function of the barrier component of the known code reading device to prevent pollutants from entering the multiple operating slots of the present invention.
[0042] Therefore, the integrated activation component of the present invention can replace the multiple independently arranged activation components and barrier components of the known code reading device. Since the number of components is reduced, the space required for the components in the test piece code reading device can be saved, so that the thickness of the test piece code reading device is reduced, and the thickness of the base body 201 of the present invention can be as thin as 3.3mm. In addition to simplifying assembly and reducing the inventory trouble caused by the number and types of components, because the activation component and the multiple protrusions on its surface are integrated, there will be no gaps at the edges of the operating slots like the known code reading device, so it can effectively prevent contaminants from entering the multiple operating slots to a large extent.
[0043] The thickness of the elastic ring 2043 on the activation component 204 of the present invention is controlled to be between 0.05 and 0.3 mm, preferably between 0.07 and 0.2 mm, and more preferably between 0.09 and 0.15 mm, which can further reduce the thickness of the test piece code reading device 20. On the other hand, the elastic ring 2043 of the activation component 204 of the present invention can withstand at least 1 million times, or even more than 10 million times of squeezing without the risk of rupture, which can improve the reliability of the test piece code reading device 20 of the present invention, and also provide a lifespan and reliability level that is difficult to match in the industry when applied in this field.
