Description

Technical Field

[0001] The present invention relates to compositions for dyeing keratin fibres, in particular human keratin fibres, such as the hair.

[0002] background

[0003] Many people have long tried to change the color of their hair and in particular to dye it, for example to cover their gray hair.

[0004] In order to dye human keratin fibers in a long-lasting manner, "permanent" dyeing methods, also called oxidation dyeing, have been developed using colorant compositions containing oxidation dye precursors, generally known as oxidation bases, such as o- or p-phenylenediamines, o- or p-aminophenols and heterocyclic compounds. These oxidation bases are colorless or weakly colored compounds, which, when combined with oxidizing products, can give rise to colored compounds via oxidative condensation processes.

[0005] The dyeing product may contain both at least one oxidation dye and at least one oxidizing agent. For better use, the oxidation dye and the oxidizing agent may be placed separately in a multi-compartment package and mixed together just before use.

[0006] Consumers wish to use dyes to dye only the target area. However, in many cases, for example, when dyeing hair, some other areas may be dyed (stained) undesirably, such as hands, face, ears, etc. Consumers have to pay more attention to avoiding undesirable areas and are always looking for products that help them deal with undesirable dyeing. Various antioxidants are used in products for various purposes. However, it is still unknown which component can and how to achieve effective avoidance of undesirable staining caused by dyes at a technically acceptable level (for example, being enough to avoid staining, balancing avoiding staining and effective dyeing, etc.). In addition, for many antioxidants or other useful active components, their stability, especially stability over time, is one of the main challenges in this area. SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0008] The inventors have now discovered that the use of a specific retarding combination of a retarder and a reducing agent together with oxidation dyes makes it possible to obtain a composition for oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers that overcomes the above-mentioned disadvantages, in particular reduces or even substantially avoids undesirable staining of non-target locations by dyes. Furthermore, the specific retarding combination exhibits excellent stability, for example minimizing the loss of the amount of one or more subject components over time.

[0009] A subject of the present invention is therefore a dye set for the oxidative dyeing of keratin fibers, comprising:

[0010] (A) a dyeing composition (A); and

[0011] (B) A pyrazolone composition (B) comprising a retardant combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent.

[0012] Optionally, the pyrazolone composition (B) is placed in a separate room from the dyeing composition (A).

[0013] According to one embodiment of the present invention, the dyeing composition (A) may further comprise:

[0014] (I) A colorant composition (I) comprising:

[0015] i) at least one oxidation dye; and

[0016] (II) A developer composition (II), comprising:

[0017] ii) at least one color developer.

[0018] Optionally, a pyrazolone composition (B) comprising a retarding combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent is placed in the composition (I).

[0019] The present invention provides a retarding combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent, which can be used to slow down the reaction of a dye or its intermediate.

[0020] The present invention thus provides the use of a pyrazolone compound used as a retardant in combination with a reducing agent for slowing down the reaction of a dye or an intermediate thereof.

[0021] The present invention also provides the use of the blocking combination for reducing dye staining.

[0022] The invention also relates to a method for dyeing keratin fibers, in particular human keratin fibers such as the hair, using the dye set according to the invention.

[0023] The invention also relates to a method for slowing down the reaction of a dye or an intermediate thereof, characterized in that a retardation combination is mixed with the dye. Preferably, the retardation combination is mixed with the dye before applying the dye, or the retardation combination is applied to a location where the dye has been applied for less than 10 minutes, less than 5 minutes or less than 3 minutes.

[0221] The alkali metal mentioned above is particularly preferably sodium or potassium, especially sodium. Accordingly, the preferred chelating agent may comprise sodium citrate, tetrasodium EDTA, tetrasodium GLDA, trisodium EDDS, sodium phytate or a mixture thereof.

[0222] In particular, composition (I) and / or composition (II) of the present invention may comprise at least one water-soluble chelating agent in an amount of 0.01% to 1% by weight, especially 0.1% to 0.4% by weight, relative to the total weight of the second composition.

[0223] Pyrazolone composition (B)

[0224] In addition to the dyeing composition (A) comprising the colorant composition (I) and the developer composition (II), the dye set according to the present invention may also comprise a pyrazolone composition (B) comprising a retarding combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent.

[0225] Pyrazolone compounds

[0226] The pyrazolone compound is preferably a pyrazolone substituted by at least one aryl group and / or at least one alkyl group, preferably a C1-C4 alkyl group; provided that the number of aryl and alkyl substituents does not exceed 3. Preferably, the aryl group is an unsubstituted phenyl group or a phenyl group substituted by at least one alkyl group, preferably a C1-C4 alkyl group. For example, the pyrazolone compound can be a pyrazolone substituted by at least one phenyl group and at least one C1-C4 alkyl group, such as a pyrazolone substituted by 1 phenyl group and 1 methyl group, a pyrazolone substituted by 1 phenyl group and 1 ethyl group, etc. Among them, phenylmethylpyrazolone (PMP) can be mentioned, such as 3-methyl-1-phenyl-5-pyrazolone.

[0227] The pyrazolone compound according to the invention is generally present in an amount of 0.01% to 10% by weight, more preferably 0.1% to 5% by weight, and even more particularly 0.3% to 3% by weight, or preferably 0.5% to 2% by weight, relative to the total weight of composition (I) and / or composition (II).

[0228] reducing agent

[0229] The pyrazolone composition (B) may contain a reducing agent to protect PMP and improve its stability.

[0230] According to the present invention, the reducing agent that can be used may include sodium thiosulfate, sodium pyrosulfite, ammonium thiourea sulfite, thioglycolic acid (TGA), thiolactic acid, ammonium thiolactic acid, mono-carbothioic acid diglycidyl ester, ammonium thioformate acetate, thioglycerol, dithioglycolic acid, diammonium carbothioic strontium acetate, thioglycolate, isooctyl carbothioate, isooctyl), cysteine, cysteamine, homocysteine, glutathione, thiomalic acid, 2-mercaptopropionic acid, 3-mercaptopropionic acid, thiodiglycol, 2-mercaptoethanol, dithiothreitol, thioxanthine, thiosalicylic acid, thiopropionic acid, lipoic acid, N-acetylcysteine and its salts; ammonium thioglycolate, monothioglycolic acid glyceryl or a mixture thereof.

[0231] Examples of preferred reducing agents which may be mentioned are thioorganic acids including thioglycolic acid, dimercaptoacetic acid, thiolactic acid, thiomalic acid or mixtures thereof.

[0232] For the blocking combination, the reducing agent is used in an amount in excess of the pyrazolone compound by weight. For example, the reducing agent can be used in a weight ratio to the pyrazolone compound of 1.1:1 to 10:1, preferably 2:1 to 5:1.

[0233] Addition form of pyrazolone composition (B)

[0234] As mentioned above, the inventors surprisingly found that pyrazolone compositions (B) comprising a retarding combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent can be used to slow down the reaction of dyes or their intermediates (eg, oxidation dyes i) useful in composition (I)).

[0235] That is, the retardation combination acts primarily on the reaction of the dye. Thus, for a dye set, the pyrazolone composition (B) can be added directly to the dyeing composition (A), for example as a mixture with the colorant composition (I); or can be added to a separate chamber, separate from the dyeing composition (A).

[0236] Therefore, the present invention may advantageously provide a dyeing kit comprising:

[0237] The dyeing composition (A) according to the invention placed in chamber 1; and

[0238] The pyrazolone composition (B) according to the present invention comprising a retardant combination of a pyrazolone compound and a reducing agent is placed in a chamber 2 separate from chamber 1 .

[0239] Methods and uses

[0240] A subject of the present invention is a process for dyeing human keratin fibers, in particular the hair, using a dye set as described above.

[0241] Another subject of the present invention is a method for reducing staining by dye compositions using a dye set as described above.

[0242] Another subject of the invention is a method for slowing down the reaction of a dye or an intermediate using a dye kit as described above.

[0243] The invention also relates to the use of a dye set as described above for dyeing keratin fibers, in particular the hair.

[0244] The invention also relates to the use of a dye set as described above for reducing staining of a dye set.

[0245] The invention also relates to the use of a dye set as described above for slowing down the reaction of a dye or an intermediate (using a dye set as described above).

[0246] In particular, the present invention relates to a method for slowing down the reaction of a dye or an intermediate thereof, characterized in that a pyrazolone compound including phenylmethylpyrazolone is mixed with the dye.

[0247] Preferably, the pyrazolone compound is mixed with the dye prior to application of the dye, or the pyrazolone compound is applied to the location less than 10 minutes, less than 5 minutes, or less than 3 minutes after the dye has been applied.

[0248] The present invention also relates to the use of pyrazolone compounds including phenylmethylpyrazolone for reducing dye staining.

[0249] In another aspect, the present invention relates to the use of a composition for dyeing keratin fibers while reducing staining in areas of non-keratin fibers, wherein the composition comprises a pyrazolone compound including phenylmethylpyrazolone.

[0250] According to a preferred embodiment, the dyeing process of the invention comprises mixing the colorant composition (I) with the composition (II) just before use and applying the mixture obtained as described above to the keratin fibres.

[0251] More particularly, "mixing" or variations thereof is intended to mean the act of placing the colorant composition (I) of the present invention together with the developer composition (II) as described above in a container or in the palm of one's hand, with or without stirring.

[0252] According to a preferred variant of the preferred embodiment, the colorant composition (I) according to the invention is placed together with the developer composition (II) as described above in a container or in the palm of the hand without stirring them.

[0253] Whatever the method used and whatever the amount of composition used, the abovementioned composition or compositions, optionally premixed, are applied to the wet or dry keratin fibres.

[0254] As described above in the section "Form of adding the pyrazolone composition (B)", the pyrazolone composition (B) can be provided in various forms for use with the colorant composition (I) and the developer composition (II), thereby slowing down the reaction of the dye. In particular, if the pyrazolone composition (B) is placed in a chamber 2 separate from chamber 1, for the dye set according to the present invention:

[0255] - If the user does not want to slow down the dyeing, or is not concerned about staining caused by the dye, chamber 2 can be left unused;

[0256] - If the user wishes to avoid any contamination, he / she can mix chambers 2 and 1 before dyeing;

[0257] - if the user wants to determine whether to use chamber 2 depending on whether staining actually occurs, he / she can first use only chamber 1, and when the staining composition adheres to the hands or anywhere else, chamber 2 can be applied immediately; and

[0258] - If the user wants to avoid staining and desires fast dyeing, he / she can pre-apply chamber 2 to locations where staining is most likely to occur but should be avoided, such as the hands.

[0259] Alternatively, if the pyrazolone composition (B) is provided together with the colorant composition (I), for example added directly to composition (I), the dyeing process is often slowed down compared to the same dyeing process except that the pyrazolone compound (B) is not present.

[0260] The mixed composition, including the colorant composition (I) and the developer composition (II), and optionally the pyrazolone composition (B), is generally left in place on the fiber for a period of time of generally 1 minute to 1 hour and preferably 5 minutes to 30 minutes.

[0261] The temperature during the process is generally between 20 and 80° C. and preferably between 20 and 60° C. After the treatment, the human keratin fibers are advantageously rinsed with water. They can optionally be further washed with shampoo, then rinsed with water and then dried or air-dried.

[0262] This process can be repeated several times to obtain the desired coloration.

[0263] The above dye sets may also be provided with a device allowing the desired mixture to be delivered to the hair, such as the device described in patent FR 2 586 913, for example.

[0264] The following examples are given by way of illustration only of the present invention.

[0265] Example:

[0266] The amounts / concentrations of ingredients in the compositions / formulations described below are expressed as % by weight relative to the total weight of the respective composition / formulation.

[0271] The following developer composition II-A was prepared from the ingredients shown in Table 2 below (wherein the contents are expressed as % by weight of the material relative to the total weight of the composition):

[0272] Table 2

[0273] Element II-A Hydrogen Peroxide 12 Etidronate Tetrasodium 0.2 Tetrasodium pyrophosphate 0.04 Sodium salicylate 0.04 glycerin 0.5 Trideceth-2 carboxamide MEA 1 Cetearyl Alcohol (and) Ceteareth-25 3 water QS to 100

[0274] Example 2

[0275] For application, compositions IA and IB were mixed with composition II-A in a weight ratio of 1:1 to provide mixtures AA and BA, respectively. 20 grams of each mixture was poured into the palm of the hairdresser, who immediately applied the product (mixture AA or BA) to medium-length hair, i.e., hair length of about 18 cm and hair weight of 2 grams. The hair was massaged for about 1 minute and then placed on a hot plate at a constant temperature of 27° C. After 30 minutes, the hair was rinsed with water. The rinse water was checked and the hair color result was observed after blow-drying. It is clearly seen that composition IA resulted in a much slower color change during the dyeing process, while providing a pleasing final dyeing, compared to the blank control to which the blocking combination was not added. That is, a non-smudge effect was observed for composition IA during the dyeing process.

[0276] For the stability check of PMP, the colorant samples of IA and IB were placed in an oven at 45°C for 1 month. HPLC was used to analyze the PMP concentration at T0 and after 1 month at 45°C. The results are shown in Table 3, indicating that IA did not lose a detectable amount (detected as 0.0%) of PMP, which is significantly better than the 47.8% loss of IB.
