Abstract
Description
TECHNICAL FIELD
[0001] The technology disclosed in this specification relates to a switch unit. BACKGROUND
[0002] A switch unit configured to open of a decorative surface visually confirmed by a user is disclosed in Japanese Patent Application Publication No. 2006-142906.
[0003] The switch unit is configured such that a switch body operated by the user is arranged along the opening, and a decorative wall of the switch body is coordinated with the surroundings thereof to form a part of the decorative surface. As one of such switch units, a switch unit in which the user performs a lift operation on the switch body is known. That is, the user performs the operation in such a manner that one side of the outer edge of the decorative wall of the switch body is lifted from the opening of the decorative surface. As a result, the switch body pivots in such a manner that it is pulled out from the opening of the decorative surface, with the axis extending along the decorative surface as the center. At this time, the one side of the outer edge of the decorative wall traces a circular arc-shaped locus with the pivoted axis as the center, and the side wall of the switch body extending from the one side to the inside of the decorative surface is exposed to the outside of the decorative surface. In this case, if the side wall of the switch unit is curved along the circular arc, the gap between the side wall of the switch body and the peripheral edge of the opening is maintained constant when the user performs the lift operation on the switch body. However, in consideration of the operability of the user and the like, the side wall of the switch body is sometimes displaced to a position inward of the circular arc, thereby forming an operation wall for the user to place a finger. In this case, the gap between the operation wall and the peripheral edge of the opening becomes large when the user performs the lift operation. As a result, the inside of the opening is sometimes visible from between the lifted operation wall and the peripheral edge of the opening.
[0004] In the past, in order to prevent this, a wall composed of separate bodies is sometimes provided between the operation wall of the switch unit and the peripheral edge of the opening. However, in this case, the outer edge of the wall composed of separate bodies is further exposed between the outer edge of the decorative wall of the switch unit and the peripheral edge of the opening, and thus the appearance of the surroundings of the switch unit becomes complicated. SUMMARY
[0005] In this specification, the following technology is provided: in a switch unit that pivots with the axis extending along the decorative surface as the center, even in the case where the operation wall is displaced inward of the circular arc of the pivoted locus, the appearance of the surroundings does not become complicated, and the inside of the opening is prevented from being visible when the lift operation is performed.
[0006] One embodiment of this disclosure includes a switch unit disposed at an opening in a decorative surface visually confirmed by a user. The switch unit comprises a switch body and a switch base. The switch body is lifted by the user from a normal position to an operating position. The switch base supports the switch body so that it can pivot between the normal position and the operating position about an axis parallel to a first direction along the decorative surface. The switch body has: a decorative wall disposed along the opening and forming part of the decorative surface; and an operating wall extending inward from one side of the outer edge of the decorative wall along the first direction toward the interior of the decorative surface. The operating wall is displaced inward along an arc centered on the axis and extending along the first direction. At least one of the two side edges of the operating wall in the first direction is provided with a shielding wall intersecting the first direction.
[0007] In the aforementioned switch unit, when the switch body is moved to the operating position, at least one of the shielding walls located on both sides of the operating wall blocks the user's view into the opening. Therefore, even if the operating wall is moved inwards along the arc of the pivot trajectory, the interior of the opening can be prevented from being seen when the switch body is moved to the operating position. Furthermore, since the shielding wall is provided on the switch body, the appearance of the area surrounding the switch unit remains uncomplicated.
[0008] The details of the technology disclosed in this specification and further improvements are described in the following "Detailed Description". Attached Figure Description
[0009] The features, advantages, and technical and industrial significance of exemplary embodiments of the present invention will now be described with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which the same reference numerals denote the same elements, and wherein:

[0015] Figure 6 This indicates that the switch body 21 is in its normal position, along... Figure 2 A cross-sectional view of line VV. Detailed Implementation
[0016] In one embodiment of this technology, the shielding walls may also be respectively disposed on the two side edges of the operating wall. With this structure, the interior of the opening can be prevented from being seen from both sides in the first direction of the switching unit.
[0017] In one embodiment of this technology, the shielding wall may also intersect perpendicularly to the first direction. With this structure, the pivoting range of the shielding wall in the first direction is reduced. As a result, it is possible to prevent visibility into the interior of the opening with high spatial efficiency.
[0018] In one embodiment of this technology, when viewed along the first direction, the front end of the shielding wall can also be positioned along an arc centered on the axis. With this structure, since the front end of the shielding wall is formed along a pivot trajectory, it will not interfere with surrounding components when displaced towards the operating position. Therefore, the front end of the shielding wall can be brought closer to surrounding components. As a result, for example, compared to a structure where the front end of the shielding wall is positioned along a straight line, the area covered by the shielding wall is wider. Thus, compared to a structure where the front end is positioned along a straight line, it is possible to prevent the interior of the opening from being seen over a wider area.
[0019] In one embodiment of this technology, a second switch body may also be provided, disposed within the opening and adjacent to the switch body in the first direction. The second switch body may also be configured to be operable to expose the shielding wall. With this structure, even when the second switch body is operated, the shielding wall can prevent visibility into the interior of the opening.
[0020] In one embodiment of this technology, the switch body can also be configured in a position operable by the user located in the driver's seat of the vehicle. However, in another embodiment, it can also be configured in a position operable by the user located in the front passenger seat.
[0021] In one embodiment of this technology, the switching unit may also include a switch for an electric parking brake that applies braking force to the wheels of the vehicle. However, in another embodiment, it may also include a window switch for raising and lowering the window glass of the vehicle door.
[0022] In one embodiment of this technology, the distance between the side extending along the first direction and the axis can also be longer than the distance between the other side extending along the first direction and the axis. In this configuration, the displacement of the side extending in one direction relative to the pivot angle of the decorative wall becomes larger. As a result, the distance between the operating wall and the periphery of the opening at the operating position tends to increase. Therefore, when the switch unit is displaced to the operating position, the interior of the opening is easily visible between the operating wall and the periphery of the opening. Therefore, the technology disclosed in this specification is more advantageous.
[0023]
Example
[0024] The switching unit of the embodiment will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. Figure 1 This diagram illustrates the shape of the interior of an electric vehicle 100 equipped with an EPB (Electromechanical Parking Brake) switch 20, which is one example of a switch unit used in this embodiment. Furthermore, hereinafter, the upper part of the electric vehicle 100 (i.e., the direction upwards from the arrow in the diagram) is sometimes simply referred to as "upper," and the lower part of the vehicle on its opposite side is sometimes simply referred to as "lower." Similarly, in the width direction of the electric vehicle 100, the leftward direction (i.e., the direction to the left from the driver's cab in the diagram) is sometimes simply referred to as "left," and the opposite side is sometimes simply referred to as "right." Likewise, the forward direction of the electric vehicle 100 (i.e., the direction forward from the arrow in the diagram) is sometimes simply referred to as "front," and the rearward direction on its opposite side is sometimes simply referred to as "rear."
[0025] like Figure 1 As shown, the electric vehicle 100 includes an instrument panel trim 2, a console 4, a driver's seat 6, and a passenger seat 8. The instrument panel trim 2 is an interior component located at the front of the electric vehicle 100, and includes a steering wheel, instruments, etc. In this embodiment, the steering wheel is positioned on the left side of the instrument panel trim 2. That is, the electric vehicle 100 is a so-called left-hand drive vehicle.
[0026] The console 4 is an interior trim piece that extends downwards from the center of the dashboard trim piece 2 in the vehicle width direction towards the rear of the vehicle. A switch module 10 is located in the center of the console 4. The switch module 10 consists of multiple switches. The switch module 10 includes an EPB switch 20. Although not shown in the diagram, a gearshift lever is also located on the console 4.
[0027] The driver's seat 6 is the seat for the occupant driving the electric vehicle 100. The front passenger seat 8 is the seat for the occupant riding in the electric vehicle 100. The EPB switch 20 is located on the side of the switch module 10 of the driver's seat 6 (i.e., on the left). Therefore, the occupant sitting in the driver's seat 6 can easily operate the EPB switch 20.
[0028] Reference Figure 2 The details of the switch module 10 are described below. The switch module 10 includes an EPB switch 20, a BH (BrakeHold) switch 18, an OP (Onepedal) switch 16, and a guide 12. The switch module 10 includes multiple switches related to the brakes of the electric vehicle 100. The switch module 10 exposes each of the switches 20, 18, 16, and the guide 12 from an opening 42 in the decorative surface 40 of the console 4. This allows the user (i.e., the occupant in the driver's seat 6) to operate each of the switches 20, 18, 16.
[0029] The EPB switch 20 is a parking brake switch that prevents the electric vehicle 100 from moving unintentionally by applying braking force to the wheels (not shown) of the electric vehicle 100. The EPB switch 20 includes a switch body 21 arranged along the opening 42 and a switch body 21 along the vehicle width direction (i.e., Figure 2 The axis R1 extends from the left and right sides of the paper. The switch body 21 is a resin cover operated by the user. The upper surface of the switch body 21 (i.e., Figure 2 The paper surface and the front surface) are exposed from the opening 42 as a decorative wall 21d. As a result, the decorative wall 21d coordinates with the decorative surface 40 surrounding the opening 42, forming part of the decorative surface. For example... Figure 2 As shown, the decorative wall 21d has a rectangular shape. On the front side of the decorative wall 21d (i.e., Figure 2 An operating outer edge 22 is provided on the upper side of the decorative wall 21d, and a non-operating outer edge 23 is provided on the opposite side. The operating outer edge 22 is one side of the outer edge of the decorative wall 21d that extends along the direction of axis R1, and is the outer edge that the user operates. The non-operating outer edge 23 is the other side of the outer edge of the decorative wall 21d that extends along the direction of axis R1, and is the outer edge that the user does not operate.
[0030] The switch body 21 also includes a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L. The pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L extend from both ends of the operating outer edge 22 toward the guide 12. That is, the pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L extend in a direction intersecting the direction of the shaft R1. The pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L are located below the guide 12, therefore, in Figure 2 In the middle, a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L are represented by dashed lines.
[0031] A pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L are respectively centered on the left and right directions of the switch body 21 (i.e., Figure 2The switch body 21 is symmetrical about line III-III. As a result, the switch body 21 has a symmetrical shape. Therefore, even for a right-hand drive electric vehicle 100, the shape of the switch body 21 can be changed, and the EPB switch 20 can be positioned to the right of the BH switch 18. That is, the same switch body 21 can be used regardless of the position of the steering wheel of the electric vehicle 100.
[0032] When the user moves the outer edge 22 of the decorative wall 21d downwards (i.e., Figure 2 When the switch body 21 is pressed in (towards the inside of the paper), it pivots downwards about axis R1. This sends a signal to the ECU (not shown) of the electric vehicle 100 to activate the parking brake. Upon receiving the activation signal, the ECU activates the actuator that applies braking force to the motor of the electric vehicle 100. As a result, braking force is applied to the wheels of the electric vehicle 100. It should be noted that, in a modified example, the ECU may also apply braking force to the wheels of the electric vehicle 100 via a disc brake, for example.
[0033] In front of EPB switch 20 (i.e., Figure 2 A guide 12 is disposed above the paper surface. A recess 14 is provided in the guide 12. The recess 14 faces downwards (i.e., Figure 2 The recessed portion (inward side of the paper surface) is a space for the user to place their finger. The user places their finger in the recessed portion 14 and moves the outer operating edge 22 of the decorative wall 21d upwards (i.e., ...). Figure 2 The paper (front side) is lifted. As a result, the switch body 21 pivots upward about axis R1. As a result, the parking brake of the electric vehicle 100 is released.
[0034] The BH switch 18 is used to automatically engage the parking brake when the electric vehicle 100 is stopped. The OP switch 16 is used to increase braking force when the accelerator of the electric vehicle 100 is deactivated. Both the BH switch 18 and the OP switch 16 are activated by the user pressing them downwards, thereby sending a signal to the ECU of the electric vehicle 100 to activate their functions.
[0035] Reference Figures 3-6 The detailed structure of EPB switch 20 will be explained. Figure 3 , Figure 4 It is along Figure 2 The sectional view along line III-III shows the cross-sectional shape of the EPB switch 20 obtained by cutting with a plane orthogonal to axis R1. That is, Figure 3 , Figure 4 This indicates the cross-sectional shape of the EPB switch 20 as viewed along the axis R1. Figure 3This indicates the cross-sectional shape of the EPB switch 20 at a position where the user does not operate the EPB switch 20 (i.e., the normal position). Figure 4 This indicates the cross-sectional shape of the EPB switch 20 at the position where the user has lifted the EPB switch 20 (i.e., the operating position).
[0036] In addition to the switch body 21, the EPB switch 20 also includes a switch base 26. The switch base 26 includes a switch bracket 27 and a switching device 30. The switch bracket 27 is a component that fixes the switch body 21 and the switching device 30 to the control panel 4. The switch bracket 27 is located at the front and rear (i.e., Figure 3 The switch bracket 27 is mounted on a base surface 28 (left and right sides of the paper). A through hole is provided in the base surface 28. A screw 46 passing through the through hole in the base surface 28 is screwed into a protrusion 44 on the back of the control panel 4, thereby fixing the switch bracket 27 to the control panel 4. As a result, as... Figure 2 As shown, the EPB switch 20 exposes the decorative wall 21d of its switch body 21 from the opening 42 of the decorative surface 40 of the control panel 4.
[0037] The wiring harness 32 is connected to the switching device 30 from below. The switching device 30 transmits the signal generated by operating the switch body 21 to the ECU of the electric vehicle 100 via the wiring harness 32. It should be noted that in this embodiment, the switching device 30 also transmits the signal generated by operating the BH switch 18 and the OP switch 16 to the ECU of the electric vehicle 100 via the wiring harness 32.
[0038] The switch body 21, excluding the decorative wall 21d and a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L (see reference), Figure 2 In addition to the switch body 21, it also has an operating wall 24. The operating wall 24 is the side wall of the switch body 21 that the user's finger 50 abuts against. The operating wall 24 extends from the outer edge 22 of the switch body 21 towards the inner side of the decorative surface 40 (i.e., Figure 3 The operating wall 24 extends to the underside of the paper. As a result, the operating wall 24 is displaced inward toward the arc A1. The operating wall 24 faces the recess 14 of the guide 12. The finger 50 abuts against the operating wall 24 through the recess 14.
[0039] As described above, the switch body 21 pivots about axis R1. The operating outer edge 22 of the switch body 21 traces a pivot trajectory along arc A1 about axis R1. When the parking brake is engaged, the operating outer edge 22 of the switch body 21 pivots downward along arc A1. Therefore, on the side of the recess 14 of the guide member 12 (i.e., Figure 3 A recess 13 is provided on the inner side of the paper. The recess 13 is a space for receiving the switch body 21 when the operating outer edge 22 of the switch body 21 pivots downward.
[0040] Furthermore, with the parking brake engaged, the outer operating edge 22 of the switch body 21 is lifted upwards. The user brings their finger 50 into contact with the operating wall 24, which is displaced inwards towards the arc A1. As the user's finger 50, which is in contact with the operating wall 24, moves in the direction of arrow F1, the operating wall 24 of the switch body 21 is lifted upwards. Thus, by providing the operating wall 24 to the switch body 21, the user's operability is improved.
[0041] When the user lifts the operating wall 24 of the switch body 21, such as Figure 4 As shown, the switch body 21 pivots about axis R1 in the direction of arrow F2. At this time, the operating outer edge 22 moves upward along arc A1. Consequently, the operating outer edge 22 of the operating wall 24 separates from the guide 12 and protrudes from the opening 42 towards the exterior of the decorative surface 40. As a result, the gap between the operating wall 24 and the rear surface of the guide 12 increases on the inner side of arc A1. In particular, a relatively large gap S1 is generated between the operating wall 24 and the recess 13 of the guide 12.
[0042] Furthermore, the distance D1 between the operating outer edge 22 (the side extending along the direction of axis R1) and axis R1 is longer than the distance D2 between the non-operating outer edge 23 (the other side extending along the direction of axis R1) and axis R1. Therefore, the pivoting distance of the operating outer edge 22 relative to the pivoting angle of the switch body 21 becomes larger. Consequently, in the EPB switch 20 of this embodiment, the gap between the operating wall 24 and the rear surface of the guide 12 tends to increase.
[0043] On the right side of operating wall 24 (i.e., Figure 4 A right-side shielding wall 24R is provided on the edge of the inner side of the paper. The right-side shielding wall 24R extends from the right edge of the operating wall 24 towards the guide 12 and forward (i.e., Figure 4 The wall extending from the left side of the paper. The right-side shielding wall 24R extends forward from the operating wall 24, and its front end 25 is closer to the arc A1 than the operating wall 24. Figure 3 , Figure 4 As shown, the front end 25 of the right-side shielding wall 24R lies on an arc centered on axis R1. The distance between the front end 25 of the right-side shielding wall 24R and the curved surface 15 of the guide 12 remains constant at a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance is a minimum distance that includes manufacturing errors and pivoting deviations.
[0044] When the switch body 21 is lifted in the direction of arrow F2, the right-side shielding wall 24R covers the gap between the operating wall 24 and the rear side of the guide 12. That is, the right-side shielding wall 24R prevents the interior of the opening 42 from being exposed relative to the user's line of sight V1. Even when the switch body 21 is lifted by finger 50, the internal unit of the OP switch 16 located inside the opening 42 is not visible. Furthermore, the right-side shielding wall 24R is located between the recess 13 of the guide 12 and the OP switch 16. Therefore, the right-side shielding wall 24R can prevent the internal unit of the OP switch 16 from being seen through the gap S1. In this way, the right-side shielding wall 24R can prevent the interior of the opening 42 from being seen.
[0045] And, as Figure 3 As shown, the right-side shielding wall 24R of the switch body 21 is positioned below the opening 42 of the decorative surface 40 in its normal position. Therefore, in its normal position, the upper surface of the right-side shielding wall 24R is not visible to the user. As a result, as... Figure 2 As shown, the outer edge of the right-side shielding wall 24R is not exposed between the EPB switch 20 and the BH switch 18. Therefore, the appearance around the EPB switch 20 remains uncomplicated.
[0046] As described above, the front end 25 of the right-side shielding wall 24R is located on an arc centered on axis R1, thus approaching the curved surface 15 to a minimum distance. Therefore, the right-side shielding wall 24R can expand the area covering the interior of the opening 42.
[0047] Figure 5 This indicates the state where the switch body 21 is lifted (i.e., the operating position). Figure 2 A cross-sectional view of line VV. (e.g.) Figure 5 As shown, the switch body 21 has a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L on each of its two side edges in the direction of axis R1 of the operating wall 24. As described above, the switch body 21 has a symmetrical shape in the left-right direction; therefore, the structure of the left shielding wall 24L is the same as that of the right shielding wall 24R. This prevents the interior of the opening 42 from being seen from both sides in the direction of axis R1 of the EPB switch 20. More specifically, relative to line of sight V2, the left shielding wall 24L covers the interior of the control panel 4, and relative to line of sight V3, as shown in reference... Figure 3 , 4 As already explained, the right-side shielding wall 24R covers the internal unit of the OP switch 16.
[0048] In addition, such as Figure 5As shown, a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L intersect the axis R1 perpendicularly. This reduces the pivoting trajectory of each shielding wall 24R and 24L in the direction of axis R1. Therefore, the space required to accommodate the pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L can be reduced in the direction of axis R1, and thus the size of the EPB switch 20 can be reduced in the direction of axis R1.
[0049] Figure 6 This indicates that the switch body 21 is not lifted (i.e., Figure 3 (state) along Figure 2 A cross-sectional view of line VV. (e.g.) Figure 6 As indicated by arrow F3, OP switch 16 is pressed downwards by the user. Figure 6 As shown, when the OP switch 16 is pressed in, the right-side shielding wall 24R is exposed. As a result, relative to the line of sight V4, the right-side shielding wall 24R covers the right side of the switch body 21 and the guide 12. Thus, when the OP switch 16 moves downward, the right-side shielding wall 24R can prevent the internal unit of the EPB switch 20 from being exposed.
[0050] In the above embodiment, the direction of shaft R1 is an example of a "first direction". Additionally, OP switch 16 and BH switch 18 are examples of "second switch bodies".
[0051] The embodiments have been described in detail above, but these are merely illustrative and do not limit the scope of the present invention. The present invention includes various modifications and alterations to the specific embodiments described above. The following are examples of modifications to the above embodiments.
[0052] (Modification 1) The switch body 21 of the above embodiment has a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L. However, in the modification, it is sufficient to provide a shielding wall on at least one of the two sides of the operating wall 24. For example, a shielding wall may be provided only on the side facing the user.
[0053] (Modification 2) The pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L may not intersect the shaft R1 perpendicularly. For example, the angle of the pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L relative to the shaft R1 may be changed according to the positional relationship between the user and the EPB switch 20.
[0054] (Variation 3) The front ends of a pair of shielding walls 24R and 24L may also not be positioned along an arc centered on axis R1.
[0055] (Variation 4) The distance D1 between the operating outer edge 22 and the shaft R1 can be the same as the distance D2 between the non-operating outer edge 23 and the shaft R1, or it can be longer than the distance D1.
[0056] (Modification 5) In the above embodiment, the BH switch 18, OP switch 16, and EPB switch 20 are arranged adjacent to each other. In a modification, only the EPB switch 20 may be arranged in the opening 42. That is, the second switch body can be omitted.
[0057] (Modification 6) The technology disclosed in this specification is not limited to EPB switch 20. In a modification, the window switch of the passenger-side door of the electric vehicle 100 may also have a shielding wall.
[0058] The specific examples of the present invention have been described in detail above, but these are merely illustrative and do not limit the scope of the invention. The present invention includes various modifications and alterations to the specific examples described above. The technical elements described in this specification or drawings are technically useful individually or in various combinations, and are not limited to the combinations of specific examples. Furthermore, the technologies illustrated in this specification or drawings can achieve multiple objectives simultaneously, and achieving one of these objectives is itself technically useful.
